  1. A few of us have been having this problem. It seems we are missing some dll files. The issue finally resolved itself for me yesterday when another game updated and installed those files for me.
  2. Ok, so after another one of my other games did an update today (MTGA), it seems to have patched in the missing files that this game also needed. After that MTGA update, the SWTOR finally launched, but gave me the black screen others were talking about. I simply closed the client and launched it one more time and now it works fine.
  3. That is the error I was getting before my reinstalls.
  4. Those installs keep failing. There has got to be a way to just "un****" this patch. Game ran fine before it.
  5. Any luck after reinstalling? I'm having the same issue after reinstalling twice. I actually had an error message before the first install, but now it just doesn't do anything when I click "Play" from the launcher.
  6. After today's update, I just get this error every time I try launching the game. I've done a full uninstall/reinstall of the game and I'm still having the same error. swtor.exe - System Error The program can't start because api-ms-crt-convert-l1-1-0.dll is missing from your computer. Try reinstalling the program to fix this problem.
  7. After the most recent patch, I now lose my second charge of Force Cloak when I swap my Two Cloaks tactical to another one. Is this a new bug or was it previously a bug that is now fixed?
  8. Just tried this and patch started on first try afterwards. Just waiting on it to finish to see if I can get into game now.
  9. I didn't want to create a new thread about this and apparently this is the most recent post about it. Is there any word on what is causing the massive amount of lag on Tython instance 1? It is essentially unplayable. I've seen older threads blaming the population on it, but I don't think that is the case. People are having to group and over populate instance 2 in order to get out of instance 1 and instance 2 runs just fine with people doing this.
  10. Not sure if you guys knew this based on the the replies, but our DoTs have always been cleansable.
  11. Love these threads about ranged being bad. It's like people come to this game and have no idea what kiting is. Marauders are one of the easiest classes to kite in the game. We have no CC immunity (outside resolve), and still have too deal with all the snares, knockbacks, stuns, and roots that ranged have. We don't even have a single 30m "pity" ability like the other melees. Anyways, back to the topic at hand. If you're talking 3v1 of any class you're gonna get your stool pushed in. Even without class stacking a group of organized players is probably gonna destroy whatever WZ they're in.
  12. This x1000. The vast majority of ranged classes in this game seem to either be too lazy to try and kite or are just terribad and don't know what kiting is. It's seriously just a case of the classic ranged vs. melee that's been going on since the birth of MMOs. Ranges job is to kite melee, melee's job is to try and close the gap. As a result if you just stand there like a tard you're going to get your face mauled off. When it comes to balance this game is extremely biased in the favor of ranged. Bioware has pretty much handed every ranged class a short cd knockback on a silver platter on top of all the stuns, snares, and roots(which aren't even on resolve). Meanwhile, melee just get the standard issue charge, pull, or stealth that they get in every game. I pretty much only play MMO's to PvP and this is the first one that made quit PvPing. It's not even funny how easy it is to get locked down as a melee. I rolled a ranged alt because of it and got bored very quickly from how easy it was, even being at a massive gear disadvantage.
  13. And yet another person who's missed the multiple mentions about WoW's CCs. WoW may have more CCs, but almost all of them are avoidable, interruptable, dispelable, and/or break on damage. Giving almost everyone an instant cast, ranged stun as a baseline ability is just dumb, boring, and frustrating. Especially when you add it to all the other stuns/knockbacks/mez's/roots that are in this game. I'm willing to bet that anyone supporting the amount of CC in this game is either: 1) A ranged class that doesn't get hit with even 1/3 the CC melee characters get hit with. -OR- 2) One of the classes that has multiple stuns and knockbacks.
  14. If you look at my post above that one I talk about WoW's CCs. Are there more of them? yes. However, the vast majority of them are avoidable, dispellable, interruptable, and break on damage. And to clear your assumption, I played from vanilla all the way to last season when this game launched.
