  1. This needs clarification @JoeStramaglia Do you mean: 1- You would like to keep consumable trading tax-free within the guild, but might impose harsher restrictions if people abuse the system. 2- You would like to keep ALL trading tax-free within the guild, but might impose harsher restrictions if people abuse the system.
  2. Read the post again. It specified white names. As in, people who have been in the guild before the weekly reset happened. While you still can violate the system, it's more of a hassle as you got to wait for the weekly reset to be able to buy/sell. Especially for the large volume sellers, this is a no-go. Alternatively, you could make it so that people will remain grey for a fixed 7 days (+ optionally whatever time till the weekly reset). This would create even more hassle. And it will be much effective at guild hopping for conquest.
  3. You could do so, yes. And it will be a backup plan. But surely you realize how much of an ache this will be to administer prizes like that? Some guilds give out rewards to 50-100 or even more players. Doing this via a guildbank vault will be ..... messy at best. EDIT: Messy as in: Making sure that people don't take out too much (accidentally or purposefully). Making sure that all people have collected their rewards. Having to temporarily change guild ranks so that people can remove credits from the guild vault. And on top of all this .... a not so nice logging system that can't be exported to Excel. (hint hint nudge nudge)
  4. Even when it means that guilds will be backstabbed when it comes to offering rewards to their members? I know this is your 666'th post. But no need to make it an evil one 😛
  5. Just a note to people fretting about orders. I am 100% sure that BioWare has noticed a certain small-time game company doing the same thing. While it might not get copied 1-on-1, I assume they have looked how their work order system works. While I don't have massive XP on work orders, I do know that it's not that bot friendly
  6. This will STINK for giving out guild rewards ..... As mentioned in other posts, this will affect guilds a lot. (please read AdsAillard's post) (https://forums.swtor.com/topic/929143-73-credit-economy-initiative-updates-and-the-gtn/?do=findComment&comment=9756295) @Joe: You say you don't want to create exceptions. But what if you could trade with white guild members for free? (white, as in, not gray members. As in, members who have been in the guild for a week-ish). Yes, this will still create a loophole, as you could send the money/items to a mule who is in both guilds. But it would be a hassle and would require a middle-man. Alternatively, you could make it so that guild officers can send credits and items to their guildies without incurring the fee. This would reduce the risk of a loophole even further. If you want to take it even further, you could create a 24h window for guild officers to send items or credits for free. I would heavily argue against this 24h window though. Firstly, it will create annoyed players who send after 25h. Secondly, I would assume this 24h window is easy to accidentally break in a new patch. Anyways. Please think of guild rewards and have them exempt from fees please Thx
  7. I am aware. I have rewritten the quoted part to make a point. Firstly, I completely agree with you that it's rather stinky that BioWare is forcing us to do PvE AND PvP-content in order to get a reward. It would have been nicer if there were 2 types of rewards, or that you needed to complete a certain amount of missions (Similar to how you unlock implants with neuro keys). Having said this. Your post was the very first post in this topic and is blatantly incorrect in my opinion. It doesn't do justice to the truth and might deter people from testing. Especially for a 1st post, it's important to not write disinformation. That's why I asked you to edit your post. (A bit too forcefully, though) You say this test is only for PvP'ers. With the same ease I can say this is only for PvE'ers. I know there are people as well who would complain getting forced into doing a flashpoint. I have showed this by simply changing the words PvP for PvE. Your gripe is not that this testing is for PvP'ers. Your gripe is that BioWare forces you to play PvP (if you want to get the rewards). Anyways. Personally, I don't mind nor really care too much. But I hope for they change the rewards a bit
  8. Firstly, the rewards are NOT only for PvE people. You are also required to do a little bit of PvP in order to get the rewards. But most importantly, BioWare is asking all of us to do our daily routine on this new server. They want us to test whether doing master mode operations give unforeseen issues. They want us to test whether running daily zones give unforeseen issues. They want us to test whether hunting datacrons give unforeseen issues. They want us to test whether playing with casirabit give unforeseen issues. If you have any semblance of honor, I would suggest you edit your post to be more accurate and truthfully instead of suggesting this is only for PvE people ...
  9. Fun fact. I still have working amplifiers on my (older) gear. The underlying system is apparently still somewhat active. Regarding the credit sink on this one. Good riddance ... this was a very bad application of sinking credits. There was NO WAY to keep up with the credit demands for the normal player. Rich people had no issues sinking their credits. But around the end, I think I lost about 95% of all my credits in an attempt to get the amplifiers needed. If you ever fully reintroduce amplifiers, please make sure that low earning people can also use this system. Thank you PS: The amplifier system was incredibly fun for tanks. Not so much for dps and healers though. While they had many options, there really was only 1 amplifier for them to pick. Selecting another amplifier would always be loss in dps or healing. Keep that in mind when you lot are secretly plotting the return of the amp 😛
  10. Eric ... mate ... While I partially agree with you there. There are MANY players who don't partake in GTN-PvP. I myself are rarely posting something. I can't be bothered with it. The problem that I have with your current line of thought is that you are punishing poor and rich people equally. In any normal working democratic country, the government is trying to tax the rich people/players the most. While attempting to hurt the poor people less. Compare it to certain oil companies who are making big time profits atm because the oil price is high. Normal people are footing the bill, atm. I'm having a hard time finding a loaf of bread that costs less than 2 euros per loaf. Extend this principle to SWTOR, and please please please be careful with credit sinks. The amplifier debacle was very harsh on the low income crowds. Do NOT make this mistake again, please. Also, try to avoid adding costs to the normal every day activities. While spending a few 100 credits on quick travel isn't much, it does create a little bit of a sour taste.
  11. What I mean is. We don't know what they will do with the crates when it hits live. If bioware keeps silent and decides not to tell us anything ... than yes. Opening them up is good idea. Except for certain equipment crates. Some crates are giving quite a few techfrags on PTS currently. Anyways. My point is. Before we act we need to have definite details. Maybe we will be able to trade in caches for 500 tech frags each? (probably not gonna happen. But my point is that we don't know what the plan is)
  12. No. Not best to open them now. Officially we don't know yet what will happen with them. That's why i'm asking for clarification. And thx for adding the other box
  13. Hi bioware, When there is a bigger update some old currencies will be shafted. Usually, the old currency can be traded in for either credits or other rewards. With 5.0 --> 6.0 we got credit chits in our old, defunct command crates With 4.0 --> 5.0 we got credits for our data crystals and commendations. Can you give us an update regarding your plans with: 1 - renown caches 2 - equipment crates (such as conquest and operation crates) NB: Currently renown crates can't be traded in for anything. This is probably because the underlying system has been removed. PS: If you haven't made a definite choice then feel free to say it. Just looking for clarity.
  14. You must mean that you are missing a comment field in the ignore list? At least I am ... But yeah ... TC can bring out weird people. Had one TC run where I tried to join a group but was denied because I was a DwT. They apparently needed 2 more dps'ers. A similar thing happened in a different run. We had a tank, 2 people who could heal and 4 dps'ers. Lead kept asking in gen chat for a DwT. Please note that I was on a jugg dps. As was another dps. Not sure at what point Joe Rando forgot what DwT/H actually means...
  15. I haven't done the level a baby to max yet. (I will do so probably). So don't take this as critique. But isn't it normal to have a reduced ability load as low-level player? I have leveled multiple alts via lowbie and midbe PvP on live. And only in the higher spectrum of lowbie (around level 35-40ish) I would have some sort of a rotation. Again. Not saying you are wrong and it might be to few abilities. But giving abilities to fast is also not a good thing. As you kinda need to learn what each of your abilities does and how it synergizes with each other.
  16. @darkmirror: Before posting please read the other posts as well. I already have acknowledged it does make sense for bioware to remove the underlying framework. And that this would mean the crates can't be opened. However all of this missing the point. The main point is that it's a fact that in 7.0 there will be people with caches. And so far there has been 0 communications regarding what they want to do with the existing caches. My question is:"What is going to happen with the existing caches?". This is not an answer anyone of us can give. This is something Bioware needs to tell us. Currently the caches can't be opened. And I agree it seems unlikely we will be able to open them. But if that means there won't be a vendor?? No communication yet. It would be ludicrous to assume bioware wants to just throw away any leftovers. Especially without ANY direct mention. Looking back at other expansions there often has been a system to trade in the old currency for either the new currency or just credits. With the example I gave with command they partially changed the loottable. In another expansion they made old tokens tradeable for credits.
  17. Renown indeed made use of the same inventory system as 5.0 command did. This leads to the suggestion that bioware probably won't let us open the caches anymore. But as you said. Bioware should give us the ability to turn in the caches. Maybe a temporary vendor that gives either credits or techfrags or something. EDIT: I don't really expect to get medals of commendation from it.
  18. If they are going to remove the caches then yes I will open them. But so far they haven't said they are removing the caches. As I said in my other post. If you have a link with a BioWare statement please share.
  19. Your argument is invalid / flawed Yes. You are correct. The renown system is going to get removed. Just like the command system from 5.0 has been removed. And no. This says nothing about the contents of the old crates / caches. I still have command crates laying around that I can and probably should open. When you open command crates it now will give credit chits, companion gifts and other items. These things happen more often in SWTOR. Anyways. Either this is a bug or it's working as intended. And honestly .... you don't know the answer. Only BioWare knows it. But hasn't shared it so far. If you have a link that says something different feel to share it as i'm only human myself as well. But your current statement is flawed.
  20. Hi Back in the previous PTS builds I could turn in renown crates and obtain gear items and a few tech frags. In the current PTS build I can not turn these in anymore. Nothing happens and they are not clickable. Option 1 - This is a bug. In that case please forward this as a bugreport and let us open the crates. Option 2 - You lot 'forgot' to inform us about this change. In that case I have 2 points of feedback. feedback nr.1 = inform us??? I assume keyboards aren't broken. feedback nr.2 = if you want to limit the amount of rewards then let us open the caches and give us some sort of a reward. Like the credit chit things you used during the 5.0 --> 6.0 patch. But most importantly. Talk to us about these things please. PS: equipment crates are still available to open
  21. Flashpoints are intended for 4 pe...... owh wait ...... they introduced solo mode for those who want to see a flashpoint on their own terms. Saying that operations are meant for 8 people and therefore not for solo players is invalid. Also also. Don't think that was the question either. Regarding master mode chapters. They are not being done often because the reward vs challenge and time is not worth it. Give MM chapters endgame loot and people will do them more often. Not saying that bioware should invest time and effort into this. But if you want to counter OP then do so with actual arguments against it.
  22. Im slightly confused if I should post this in here. My friends and I have tried out a few master mode flashpoints. We found that the scaling seems off the charts. According to this post the MM flashpoints are balanced against 318 gear. We all had the 318 gear from the PTS vendor. Rakata MM 1st boss we went in with an assassin tank, jugg veng and sorc madness. We use a lv50 companion as healer. Our companion could barely keep us alive while it took us AGES to kill the first boss. on trash our tank had to rotate cooldowns like candy. We skipped the bonus boss as it was just not dying fast enough. We swapped the companion to dps and the sorc to healer for the 2nd boss (commander rand). We got a total of 3 tactical repositions with a few minutes of fighting afterwards in order to kill him. On the DS vs LS choice we chose LS and were nearly wiped out by the sith ambush. Granted ... this was partially caused by me not being ready for the huge amount of damage taken. Last boss we first gave it a go with me healing and the companion as dps. Sadly we wiped. Went in again but now with me AND companion as healer. This went allright. Assault on tython (imp) MM 1 assassin tank, 1 sorc healer and 2 pugs. The damage output from the 4 adds was insane. DPS took forever to kill their 2 adds. Tried it multiple times but just gave up. Korriban (imp) MM 1 *** tank, 1 sorc healer, 2 pugs. Mass dots eat through the group. Healer couldn't keep up. Hammer MM 1 *** tank, 1 sorc healer, 2 pugs. At 4 stacks the tank is pretty much dead. Only way to get through was by selfcleansing the stacks and/or tankswapping with the dps. Bonus frog the tank rotated through all cooldowns and wiped at 78%. The 3 bossfriends were doable but the outgoing damage was again insane. We have done more flashpoints but pretty much all resulted in cancellations due to the insane amount of outgoing damage. Next to this the healing done feels underwhelmed. (or at least sorc/sages). All in all the balance for these master modes doesn't seem to be balanced for groups in 318 gear. We are aware that better gear will make it easier. But the current state seems a tad exessive
  23. ETA = EXPECTED time of arrival ...... it's in the freaking name ...... It's not called ASTE (absolutely sure time of arrival) Besides that. You never know for sure if a date will be achieved. I have seen delays happen on the day itself.
  24. Regarding the delay. Fine by me. But ..... Back at the 6.0 launch renown was introduced with the promise it would also be around in 7.0. For this reason, I hadn't planned on grinding out the lv999 achievement yet as I like to play multiple toons. When you dropped the bomb that 7.0 would remove renown it meant people like me had to either accept to not get the achievement or scramble and grind their behinds offs. Question: I'm 250 levels away from 999. I can do this in 1 week if I focus hard. (last week I got approx 250 levels as well). Am I correct to assume I have until 15-02-2022 to reach 999?
  25. Regarding the changes to dailies and weeklies. I don't know if it's technically possible to revert this. But this is a really bad change BioWare .... Essentially you are stealing progress away from your players. This is NOT a QoL change. Well .... I guess it is. As the quality of life will be reduced :rak_02: There are several reasons why you would want to not fully complete weeklies: - not enough time or mood to finish a weekly (Makeb anyone???) - saving up weeklies to turn in during a conquest week when your guild is pushing for a win In my case, I like to play PvP. But I rarely can complete a weekly as for group comp reasons I tend to shift between several toons. I also am someone who saves up many weeklies so I only need to do 1 more daily and turn in the weekly. For example, I tend to have 7 chars on 9/10 for the PvP weekly so that I only need to win 1 more match in PvP. The rest of the time I can then spend doing other content such as daily areas. Auto-completing missions is not an improvement to QoL. I like to be able to choose WHEN I turn in a mission. This is tied to my wish to stack weeklies for conquest.
