  1. So pretty much I will have to be a Jedi Guardian? Well that will be fun considering I'm more used to being DPS, thanks for the help guys!
  2. Ok, I have yet to make my Guaridan since real life things have me busy for a bit with also happens to give me more time to plan this out. So currently my planned build is: http://www.torhead.com/skill-calc/#500hMGdudMdfzZ0MZcRM.2 I changed a thing or two and relised my last build hadn't spent all it's points so I spent those points as well. But really in terms of what you two are debating it seems to come down to One extra stack of sunder VS +1 sec immobolize with force leap and honestly I have no idea which would be better, they both seem good. In my last build I had chosen the force leap however because I figured stunning > reducing enemies armor in terms of tanking, I figured sundering armor would be the DPS's job.
  3. So pretty much it's 1. Swelling Winds 2. Defense Tree 3. The rest This that right?
  4. So would something like this be more viable? http://www.torhead.com/skill-calc/#500hMGdudMdfzZZf0M.2 Also which should I buy first and which can I afford to leave till later?
  5. Please look at my Guardian build and tell me what you think? http://www.torhead.com/skill-calc/#500GMGzudMdfzZRrZc.2 I'm really looking for a Guardian with two main priorities and one secondary priority. 1. Take a ton of damage 2. Generate lots of threat Note I care more about taking the damage than generating threat. My secondary goal is to be able to deal a fair amount of damage myself. Also this Guardian is meant for PVE, not PVP. Lastly, in PVE I find normally tank companions may do better because if they die, the fight still goes on, but if you die it's game over. Would playing a Tank prove to be much a problem in this respect or is there a way to build them where the player being target #1 isn't a huge need for concern? Also I'm wondering how well will this build work with Kira? I'd like to have her as a companion as long as possible before I have to switch to Doc as a healing companion.
  6. I want to start a Jedi Knight soon and I really like the idea of playing a Jedi who were's trooper armor. Like a republic soldier in battle with a lightsaber or two. Now my question is though what armors are there in the game I can use for this? Pictures would be nice. Where do I get these armors and are they heavy or medium? I'd rather any recomended armor be Orange so I can fully customize them, but Purple is fine too if I can still customize them. Thanks for the help!
  7. Honestly Jedi Sentinel might be your best call because he's DPS and as long as you play it smart you can get through things quicker as a DPS. But Jedi Consular does provide the better buff.
  8. Wow, thanks for the help guys. Expecially you Heezdedjim. That post you made really helped explain to me how useful slicing and the other skills are. I'll be sure to use the slicing, underworld trading and diplomacy mix on my Imperial Agent who gains crit bonus's on all three to boot.
  9. Are you guys playing through like a co-op or are you all more like just play whenever you feel like it? I admit it's hard and unlikely, but I figure if I'm motivated enough to play such a co-op there must be other players who feel the same way.
  10. I was just wondering if people here are up for a 4 player co-op. By that I mean all 4 of us make new characters, and run through the game together as that team of 4. In my past experience in a 2 player co-op it was great because of all the social points, the exp boost, all the fun from chatting with friends, easier to get a group together for heroics or flashpoints, plus crew skills and classes can divided among people in the team to work well together. Like one does biochem, another artifice, another cybertech etc. Plus we can have combat roles to complement each other in my case it was a Tank and DPS. If anyone is interested in starting such a co-op please say so here. Some things we'll need to sort out though 1. Republic or Empire? 2. Who has what Crew Skills? 3. Combat Roles? (I'm thinking we should do 1 Tank, 1 DPS, 1 Healer and the fourth be either a DPS or Healer). 4. Server? (If we already got our team of four set we might want a low populated server) 5. Is text/party chat fine or should we use something such as Skype? 6. How strict of a co-op? Should we only play when all four of us are on or should we be allowed to move ahead if we want, but just re-do the missions with the others once they log on too?
  11. does that mean slicing doesn't have storage boxes then?
  12. When I asked on an earlier date what crew skills to get for making credits Slicing was recomended (obviously) but also treasure hunting because of what I can get from it and sell on the GTN. But, both Crew skills give lockboxes as rewads for missions, so if I'm already getting them from slicing how should I get Treasure Hunting too? Is there something I'm missing? Is Treasure Huntings lockboxes better?
  13. I'm aiming to make a ranged DPS, maximum damage output. So I'm wondering which class do you think does more damage, Gunslinger or Mercenary? Also how should I build this class? Like what tree should I invest into, should I focus on increasing just endurance, cunning/aim and power? Lastly last time I played a smuggler I noticed when I wore gear that boosted aim (I was like level 3, I had no cunning gear at the time) the aim stat seemed to of been boosting my ranged damage so if I were a gunslinger should I increase both aim and cunning. I'm also wondering about Crew Skills, I already have a file with biochem which I can use to lend my DPSer a reusable medpac, but what crew skill would best match a Gunslinger or Mercenary in terms of increasing DPS?
  14. I just have a questions about certain stuff in the game 1. Easy way for companion gifts? I don't want to have to spend all my credits just to get enough approval to continue dialogue with a companion, any advice on how to get a lot of gifts cheap? 2. Alignment for Jedi and Sith? This light side, dark side that important for them? I know they help with better weapons, but I don't want to all dark or all light just to use better gear. How important/vital in the stuff you get from it? 3. Easy Exp? Side Quests after a few characters (or just wanting to follow the main story) get's tedious and annoying. But if I don't do said side quests I am greatly under level and weak so I can barely progress through anywhere. Any idea of where to get easy exp so I can keep at a high enough level to get through easily without having to accomplish a giant list of side quests?
  15. My mistake, I meant Bioanalysis, not biochem. But basically the idea is gathering normally beats missions? So far the following skills in consideration are... 1. Slicing (for sure) 2. Bioanalysis 3. Archeology (most likely not in) 4. Treasure Hunting 5. Scavaging
