  1. This seems the right place to post this? Is there an archive somewhere of the mail messages our characters receive from NPCs and companions in game?
  2. While I do not use any adaptive devices (currently), I am a disabled SWTOR player. Dyslexia, dysgraphia, dyscalculia, dyspraxia (which makes gaming a bit harder), ADHD, rheumatoid arthritis, fibromyalgia, and other things. 7.0 font changes have been hell to read. It makes me sad, because SWTOR is my only game. (I literally have only played three video games for any length of time in my entire life. I didn't even play Mario as a kid.) I also use the game to teach. I have been a life skills teacher for students with disabilities since 1997, and I use it to teach online social skills, social gaming, resource management, goal setting, and a laundry list of other skills. I don't have anything to contribute to your particular video, but if you do other explorations of disabled gaming/gamers, I would be interested.
  3. I am one of the 'circle of friends' that TheCrazyPlayer mentioned. I'm new to MMOs and new to video/computer games of any kind. Despite being somewhat of a geek in my 30s, I somehow missed the initial craze for these things. I had no idea this was called an 'exploit' until recently. To be honest, I thought this was just a perk BioWare had programmed in, so that the folks who spent money on a subscription and got cartel coins from that or for folks who bought cartel coins would have something else to spend them on. A nice perk for spending money on the game. Obviously, that's not the case. Whether or not it meets a formal or informal definition of the term exploit (as applied to MMOs) or not isn't material to me. What is material to me is that I don't have a lot of time to play. Even though starting worlds are short, I liked being able to cut down on the time I spent running around the planet so I could play through the content. It was well worth the cost of the cartel coins - at least, for me. I miss the perk/bug/exploit - whatever you want to call it. It made the game more fun for me to play. The lack of it won't cause me to stop playing, but it will mean I'll spend less in cartel coins. I'm not sure BioWare will notice that small bit of my money going elsewhere. I'm sure they won't notice a significant drop in their income from this at all. That said, I hope when/if the developers read this thread, they see that people liked it and they'll think about adding it back in as something official. As something of a side note: it took considerable effort and plenty of persuasion to get me interested in playing a MMO. The behavior from people involved in MMO cultures had turned me off the concept - as it had my brothers and many other people I'm friends with. The attitude that 'you should have known it was wrong' or 'bah, you posting about something you miss in game' is kinda off-putting. It's the kind of behavior that could make people who are new to this kind of gaming nervous about not just posting on the forums, but getting involved in the game in the first place. That said, I'm posting this here because my friend said that we should let BioWare know we want that perk/bug/exploit back. I doubt, given the kind of attitudes I've seen here, that I will be posting on the forums again. If I want to be called stupid or have my ignorance of a game I'm new to mocked, I can just go to a family reunion. At least I'll have free food while being informed I'm an idiot.
