  1. We have added another sub-guild dedicated to Crafting Bonuses. Elders Forge. <Elders of the Republic> and <Elders of the Sith> continue to serve as a meeting place for older, sensible players who have loved Star Wars since we saw Luke Skywalker and Princess Leia in the theaters in the 70's. However, we would like to avoid drama (we get quite enough of that at work, thank you). Originally founded Dec 2015 on the west coast server, Harbinger. Some of us have been playing together since its inception. We have been running weekly, 16-character training operations every Friday for several years, and have other guild activities scheduled throughout the week or generated ad hoc as players are available. Both of our Flagships are fully unlocked and we easily make our Large Yield Conquest goal every week. Our Discord server has become a social center where members are able to not only talk about the game, but other aspects of our lives. If you are a 40+ year-old player interested in a mature, sensible guild, feel free to check us out. https://sites.google.com/view/recruitingflyer-v02/home https://swtorfancommunity.com/guilds/elders-of-the-republic-and-elders-of-the-sith-satele-shan

  4. This is an update to a previous post. Playing as a Traditional Trooper-Commando from level 9 to level 11. Playing with no stim or XP boost. I am still OK with not getting abilities yet (Level 10 I did get SuperCharge. ). With our 1st level abilities, what we have works ok and I feel like a Commando. I got to the Seperatist Stronghold at 9th level and the difficulty was just right for a newish player. I now have to start using Charged Bolts when a Silver is in the Mob due to energy concerns- as opposed to spamming Explosive Round previously. The amount of loot seemed just right, I was feeling the sense of reward and progress without feeling like they were "easy to get"/cheap. Overall I feel everything is working well once I got to the Separatist Stronghold at 9th level. On a related note: When I am at a Trainer and "Show All" and "Sort by Level", The abilities do not sort correctly.
  5. Playing on the PTS as a Traditional Shadow to level 6. Over the years, I have created several Infiltration Shadows to play with friends who were starting new characters. Playing with no stim or XP boost. At level 6, I had not yet gotten any new skills. My level 1 skills: I have DoubleStrike, Project, Force Breach, and Saber Strike in case of low Force. I like having these starting skills as they are the Bread and Butter for Infiltration. We level up pretty quickly and I was 6th level before I knew it. Previously, on Live, I have felt that a person was getting abilities before a person could get comfortable with the previous ones. Heads Up: I can't remember for sure, but I think I had to drag Force Breach to the quickbar, the other abilities showed up on the Quickbar on their own. I just took Story missions so I was going thru content at a lower level. I was matching my targets level or be one lower. As I had done in the past on live, I open up with Project at 10m and then spam DoubleStrike. Even if I pulled another Mob while fighting the first, I never needed to use Saber Strike due to low force. The only time I needed to use a MedPak was against the Champion Bloodskin. At level 6, I died, but Bloodskin was down to less than 20%. I just spammed DoubleStrike against him. That was the most I damage I have done to Bloodskin at lower level ever. Still did not run out of force. Seemed like Bloodskin's knockback and missle attack mechanics have been nerfed, which was ok because only a Guardian with T2 was able to take him out on live. Even keeping newish players in mind, I feel like the flesh raiders (past the Gnarls bridges) could be raised a level. With less abilities for a newish person to get confused and fumble around with, the content could be more challenging. The amount of loot seemed just right, I was feeling the sense of reward and progress without feeling like they were "easy to get"/cheap. Overall I am "Good" with how things flowed to level 6.
  6. This is talking about the screen where we choose class and combat style. When the Consular-Shadow animation is showing, the light saber washes out the text of the description.
  7. Playing as a Traditional Trooper-Commando to level 8. I have been playing Gunnery Commando 75th for the last several months, and that character was the only time I had gone through the Trooper story. So on the PTS I am replaying the story and paying attention to story. So I am paying more attention to story and less about abilities, which would be true for a newish player. Playing with no stim or XP boost. Level 4 was where I got my next attack, Charged Bolts, and that was ok timing wise. We level up pretty quickly and I was 4th level before I knew it, being involved in the Storyline. On Live, I have felt that I was getting abilities before I could get comfortable with the previous ones. I feel new abilities should be better than old abilities (at least at that moment) in order to encourage us to use and learn them. As I carry out my missions, I settled into spamming Explosive rounds and then making sure I had regen to full health before moving on. Enemies at this lower level are not challenging enough if all I have to learn is to spam one ability. At level 4 I get "Charged Bolts" (Grav Round) which is bread and butter at the higher levels. At Level 4-8 Explosive Round is dealing more damage on the primary target than Charged Bolts, plus I get AOE damage. No motivation to use Charged Bolts, especially since it is channelled. At 8th level, I am still spamming Explosive Round - I was able to take out the three silver Seperatist officers before running out of energy by spamming Explosive Round. I felt like that fight should have forced me to do at least one of the following. Medpak, RechargeCell, HammerShot for Energy. The amount of loot seemed just right, I was feeling the sense of reward and progress without feeling like they were "easy to get"/cheap.

  9. We have all types of players. Vets, Returning players, New players, Players from other games who want to try SWTOR. I watch the Roster and there are new Low Level characters showing up every week. It is low risk to join. We have no requirements other than being over 40 and acting mature. You get the guild weekly Conquest reward if you make your personal goal. We have a Friday night (Pacific time) training operation which is very suited for "I don't know anything about ops" to "I can help carry the load" players. Joining our Discord Server allows you to get to know folks, or just be a lone wolf, it is all about what you want to get out of membership.

  11. Hi. Thanks to EllieAnne for bringing this issue back on the table for discussion. Some of the "undesirable effects" from the "Good Intentions" are: - Players who did not get aggravated when they lost because of the team make-up, now have more reason too. I have noticed the increase in destructive criticism. - I am an experienced high valor player learning Guardian Tank. When playing the character in the Mid & Low level PVP on both SS & SF, it is mostly arenas and often times either team will be short players and/or one of the teams has a standout who makes a big difference. After these type matches, I am wrestling with being aggravated with the new players trying to learn PVP, feeling sorry for them and hoping they don't quit, and feeling cheated because I played my 40 minutes before going to bed and did not advance my daily/weekly. In the past, I have played matches where a team member will taunt us that they are not going to do anything and they keep their promise. Those matches did not bother me as much as now because I knew I still needed to play my best and at the end of the match, would advance my daily/weekly. Since I am playing SS & SF with a <75th tank, during early prime time, I am testifying that the number of people in the queue for Mid and Low are noticeably less than previous times when I was working a character up. The previous problem with "Lose Farming" was when it took more effort to make your Conquest goal. PVP was a good way to do that. Now there are other ways. I think/feel that for discussion starters, the Low and Mid levels of PVP should NOT be win only. This was another thread on this subject which was well written. https://www.swtor.com/community/showthread.php?t=983186
  12. Sorry for the late reply. Good questions. We once took a straw poll and it seems as if 30% of the respondents were east coast. Everyone else was CST, MST, PST. On Thursday mornings we have a get together with "I work nights" & "the dog wakes me up early" folks. Typically I see at least 2 others on (Republic side) if I log in around 7:30am EST on the Republic side. That would be 6:30 am CST. Earlier than that, I am not sure. There are several of us who have legacy's on more than one server. Depending upon the time of day, I will play SF for PVP or also working on getting fully to 306 gear so I will get my SF weekly personal conquest goal, etc. We still have players with a character in the guild which have not played in years - every once in a while someone who has been gone will show up and start playing again. If someone has been gone years and we are getting near our character cap set by the game, we once went through and trimmed long term MIA player characters down to their main. Once a person shows back up, they can get their characters invited again. It is up to you how much you want to interact with everyone. Most of our interaction comes through our Discord server and that has become quite the social community where you can get better acquainted with the other members - whether you say anything or not. We easily exceed our Guild Conquest goals for "large invasion" so there is no pressure for conquest. You are welcome to join and if the experience falls short of your expectations, you can leave. "No harm - No Foul". I also sent a eMail to your in game character with some additional comments.
  13. Thanks for your interest. We have a Friday night Training Operation where we take players of any ability through an operation to learn the mechanics and tactics. We have Sunday night Master Mode Flashpoints to help sharpen the edge also. I sent you an in game message with this link which will help guide you to getting your characters invited. https://sites.google.com/view/recruitingflyer-v02/home
  14. Hi Nickodemous & Croixxxx Sorry for the late reply. I sent Croixxxx a direct message on this website & I sent Clandestu an in-game eMail.
