  1. Claiming that trans issues are the result of someone's holy book is a reductive argument. The real issue is, as someone pointed out, how trying to translate a real-world social issue into a Star Wars one doesn't always translate well. I mean, with the technology available in Star Wars I doubt there are any trans people as we know them at all. You can probably pay someone a truckload of credits and undergo a complete and total gender change down to the cellular level. It'd entirely skip the middleman of trans culture. You'd just have some 14 year old girl with body dysmoprhia and a week later he's a 14 year old boy.
  2. I go through phases where I get bored and switch for a while. But if I had to choose? Tank: Sith Warrior - Immortal DPS: Sith Warrior - Vengeance Healing: Mercenary - Bodyguard
  3. It's times like this my signature exists.
  4. Well I liked them far better than that Revan expansion...
  5. I like it so far but I have only done it once on my Sith Warrior. I have a feeling I won't like it as much on some other classes.
  6. A few expansions ago. Now you actually get WEAKER when you level. Yes, you read that right. Leveling causes you to lose 2% of your stats each time. You are REQUIRED to farm better gear immediately or fall behind. When the most recent expansion dropped, characters at 110 were actually the strongest in PvP taking people 3 at a time because they didn't have the stat reductions. You basically suck more and more and more until you hit max level and then curve out of the hole with end game gear.
  7. Please God no. World of Warcraft adopted a terrible scaling system that made everything hard as hell and lowered your stats when you leveled. I abandoned that to come back to this game. Please don't turn this game's leveling into that self-torture. You want a harder game? Companion off, play without gear on. There. Your game is harder.
  8. I consider Revan to be the worst Star Wars character of all time, so if we could slap the dirt atop his grave and move on FOREVER that would be great. But the Old Republic is better than Disney because it is story first, agenda second. And I'll take a bad story any day of the week over an agenda story.
  9. What I mean is when you open the moddable item, and you right click the crystal, does it at least APPEAR in the slot on the item? Is the issue that it won't go over at all, or it gives you an error when you try to press apply?
  10. Just some rapid-fire troubleshooting: Does anything have a Light or Dark requirement? Is it a purple quality crystal and you are unsubbed thereby making it an Artifact you can't equip without authorization? Does the item have a proper crystal slot? When you right click, does it at least try to over-write?
  11. Vaylin is the most annoying character in this entire game. A complete psychopath, and that's coming from my SITH WARRIOR. The only thing she deserved was a lightsaber through the chest.
  12. I absolutely love the "Palpatine can't be alive!" cries from people that support Darth Maul being cut in half and dropped down a tube and somehow still surviving.
  13. I always found the widespread use of slavery to be a little strange. The old meme of "Slavery gets #### done" might be true, but in the real world we didn't have access to such insanely good technology. If we can easily make droids that can understand advanced combat tactics why do we need slaves? You can have droids with barely any sentience at all, if any, to do basic commands of work and labor. Droids you don't need to feed, don't need to sleep, don't get complex medical conditions, don't get pregnant, don't grow old... You plug them in instead of having them sleep, replace a few parts instead of needing healthcare, and the truly ancient are replaced. So why isn't 90% of all labor in the galaxy droid based? At this point I think the widespread slavery bit is just used to add more cartoon evil to bad guys to make them more bad guy-ish.
  14. I wouldn't worry about the speed of your basic attacks. I main a Sith Immortal and tank for my guild in Operations and I can tell you that we don't actually use that button all that often. Eventually, regardless of what spec you are, you will settle into a core Rage spending rotation that will have "Filler" buttons between uses. Your basic will seldomly be used. I wouldn't concern yourself about it too much.
  15. "I had my companion out instead of doing Crew Skills. I also set it to spend all of its time Healing me constantly and now I am upset my life is not in danger." Do you realize what this sounds like? Turn off the companion. Don't improve your gear until it gets too hard to progress. The game is as easy or as hard as you choose to focus it. I will never understand the mentality of people that push the envelope in everything they do, then act shocked there is no challenge.
  16. Vader wins. And he wins because the other character is nothing more than one of MANY characters under the KOTOR banner that is written stupidly overpowered due to writer fiat.
  17. After rechecking my UI a dozen times, I find I can no longer see the exact numbers of my health, my companions health, or my target's health. Is this for real? Please tell me I just missed it somewhere. Tell me this was not removed from the game.
  18. Because I find the term "Spacebar Spammers" disrespectful when it is being used about 4 months too late for that term to mean anything. It is 4/13/12, not 12/25/11.
  19. That's like playing a game of pool and just refusing to sink the 8 ball because you are just having so much fun bouncing it off the rails for three hours straight.
  20. The amount of people screaming how unfair the 1.2 patch is to the non-50 folk is absurd. More to the point, is this so called "Spacebar Spammer" accusation I seen in every single thread related to it. I have a 50, a 36, a 33, a 32, and a 19. I did not "Spacebar Spam", I work 6 days a week, and I play in two tabletop RPG games a week while also taking night classes for Art and Astronomy that are three hours a piece. AND I HAVE A 50. Seriously, I was totally with you guys sighing at the no lifers that were 50 before New Year's Eve. THAT was Spacebar Spamming. It is now almost halfway through April, FIVE MONTHS LATER. I don't know if you just subbed recently, but I got my first character to 50 casually amidst all of that busy schedule in about 45 days. That is 1.5 months of the 5 this game has been out. I am the very definition of the casual, and I have a 50. Please stop assaulting Bioware because you are either: A.) So addicted to making alts that your ADHD prevents you from getting even ONE to 50. Really, not one? B.) So unbelievably into roleplaying (not that I blame you), that you spend so much time idling around that you never got a single character to 50. If you really enjoy RP THAT much, maybe you should engage in a full RPG and not an MMO that wants you to like, interact with stuff. TL;DR: PEOPLE THAT COULDN'T GET TO 50 IN 150 DAYS SHOULD NOT BE MAD AT BIOWARE TRYING TO BE NICE TO PEOPLE!
  21. Yeah, it would be bad enough to have to have to download the patches, relearn your class after whatever changes were made to abilities and skill points, and regear... then to stab you in the back with de-leveling, making you pay to learn things you already knew!
  22. I saw it on the suggestions page, and I keep seeing it repeatedly in the Q&A question request threads.
