  1. You managed to kill NPCs for the lulz! Congratulations! You win nothing!
  2. I quite like Rishi as well, very gorgeous and nice looking. It really gave a strong feel of being piratey and Star Wars at the same time, which was great. The bird people... tacky at best, what is this, Neverending Story? But all in all I quite like it. My favorite part was the bonus mission Thus always to slavers. It was a nice little historical in-joke - Abraham Lincoln, famous for freeing the American slaves, was killed by a man who then quoted Sic Semper Tyrannus, or Thus always to tyrants. Well done quest namer guy, well done : D
  3. I really want Black primary with yellow secondary... Totally not relating to 40k at all... The Emperor was weak. The Emperor was a fool. The Emperor had the galaxy in his grasp and he let it slip away. - Warmaster Marr, lord of the Black Legion Er, right. If that won't do, I'd really like a primary Red with Silver secondary (along with the title Dark Apostate/Apostle for some quest or another). A primary Silver wouldn't be bad either, or maybe a nice bronze...
  4. I'm many things. A bully is not among them. If YOU read carefully, all I have said and done is tell you to protect yourself instead of whining, and that your whining is unfounded by the idea that you can actually protect yourself. Again, you aren't being dragged into doing anything. All you have to do is buy a vaccine. Even if you do get infected, you can easily remedy that with the aforementioned vaccine or by simply /stucking your character. If you refuse to, that's your own fault, not anyone else's. You may not like what I'm telling you. That's tough - I don't dictate the truth, I just speak it. As already said, calling me a bully for that is being a bully yourself.
  5. Again, every insult you paint against me applies directly to you. You are making the excuse that we sound like bullies. Regardless of what we sound like, we clearly aren't, as I disproved in my previous post.
  6. The only one not grasping things here is you. Let me dissolve your argument right now - The idea that we're bullies. Victims of bullies cannot defend themselves. You can - buy the vaccine. The idea that we're trolls. I'm not, personally, but if you really didn't like trolls you wouldn't feed them as much as you have in this thread alone. Either that 'somehow' slipped your mind, or you're a troll yourself. Either way, not my problem. The idea that you're a victim. Playing this game is a choice, as is almost everything in the game. Bioware thrives on the idea of the choice. You have the choice to do whatever you want, and since you continue playing the game through the event, you're choosing to deal with what happens during the event. When given the option to opt out of the consequences of your choice, you refuse, because apparently you don't have to deal with consequences. Is there anything else that I'm missing? Oh yes, the idea that you hold the moral high ground. You don't. You're a paying customer, I'm a paying customer. We both have our opinions and we're both entitled to them - and neither of us make the decisions about what should and shouldn't be in the game. That's Bioware's call, and since it's their game, they can do whatever they want with it. That's their right as the owners and creators of SWTOR, and they hold the moral high ground above you and I. TL, DR : You have no position to stand on.
  7. Your experience is not being ruined. You're not being victimized. All you have to do is something very simple. If that's too hard on you, maybe you should play the Hello Kitty MMO instead.
  8. It doesn't. My point wasn't that you had to participate, rather it's designed so that everyone can easily. It's just as easy to opt out of the event, but apparently that isn't good enough for you. So, when you place restrictions - say everyone has to go to the Spike before they can be infected - you make it much, much harder for the majority. The current system has less of an inconvenience, and for a lot less players as well. Ergo, the current system is superior.
  9. Yes. Because it is part of a game that you chose to play. The experience of the game is wider than just what you want, as an FYI...
  10. Again, agreed. It not persisting through death is silly.
  11. I agree with this completely. Randomly getting an easily removable debuff is not being bullied or victimized.
  12. Again, you misunderstand. We don't care if you care if you're being infectected. Your grief or whatever doesn't matter. The fact you're making so much noise about something you can so easily remedy is my complaint - You're being snobbish and entitled by demanding that the event automatically exclude you when its designed so that people can participate and have fun without restrictions. You're placing restrictions on everyone else because you can't manage some extremely easy fixes. That's the issue.
  13. How are you forced to stay in a stronghold or a ship? Let's take away vaccines and everything else - if you can't avoid infected players while leveling, doing dailies, etc, you're a pretty bad player, especially since most of them will be on Fleet and Corellia anyways. It's really not all that difficult, so :?
  14. Meh, you just want to be able to PvP freely. I don't think you actually care about anything else with the Rakghoul event, you just want more opportunity to PvP. Which is ok, but don't try and sugarcoat it with other justifications.
  15. What you're suggesting is far more invasive and unpleasant than the Rakghoul event is. Your analogy is more dramatic, but more inaccurate for it. Also, again, there's an easy fix that you simply aren't willing to take because... why? The fix was created exactly for people like you, so that you can shut up, vaccinate yourself, and continue playing normally, while everyone else enjoyed the event. Again, you can freely say no, no-one is stopping you from opting out of the event. Participating or not participating is entirely your choice, and you're not being inconvenienced if you do or don't.
  16. More like, I'm handing out flyers to everyone in the hallways. People who don't want the flyers put their hands up in a 'no' gesture, people who do want them take them, and then you don't want to put your hand up because... you're being victimized by the fact I'm indiscriminately handing out flyers? :?
  17. I wasn't saying it was (in fact I'm actually pretty terrible at dueling; I'm decent at warzones because I know tactics and grabbing objectives but the only time my numbers really shine is healing). I don't think the event is a PvP event, but I think I agree with you somewhat. Getting infected should make you flagged... and you should be able to unflag by waiting in a sanctuary/whatever. The real reason is more likely that Bioware wants to keep the Fleet a no-combat zone, and the Fleet is a major point for propagating the plague.
  18. Feel free to try and kill me, just don't be surprised when I fight back Who am I forcing to participate? All you have to do is buy a vaccine; what you're doing is not participating. Get over yourself - you're not being victimized.
  19. I don't know, judging by how you seem to be the vast minority in this thread alone seems to make my assumption a pretty safe one. Plus, again. Vaccinate yourself. It's more difficult to constantly whine on the the forums like this pointlessly than it is to pick up a few vaccines or even get Friend so you can get a Relic. As for principle. You only apply this principle because it benefits you; by the principle of realism (this is a plague, and plagues spread without vaccines) and the principle of encouraging players to get more involved this is an excellent mechanic. Even better, that majority of players enjoy the mechanic. Why should we all have to be inconvenienced because of you?
  20. You misunderstand. We assume people like to have fun and wish to participate in the Rakghoul event if they aren't vaccinated. If you don't want to get infected, get vaccinated to show that. Again, I provided you with a variety of ways to deal with that; it really isn't that difficult.
  21. Jeelvic is a unique vendor with unique items; I can collect rep items to turn in next week but by that time he will be gone and I can no longer purchase the Legendary only items that he and he alone carries.
  22. ... Yes, but I can't be the only one! Like I said, I have an unabashed love for this event. To be this close, and yet so far, grinds at me.
  23. I unabashedly love the Rakghoul event, and last time around I farmed it mercilessly so that when it came back, I would have the currency and reputation to gain the Jeelvic mounts when it returned. Now it has, and I've come across an ugly problem - the reputation cap. I support this normally, as we don't want people to get to Legend in a single day, but seeing as the Rakghoul event only lasts a week and takes a long while to come back around again, can we at least raise the Weekly reputation cap by about 10k points? It won't significantly change newcomers to the event so they can get all the goodies at once, but people who have played it thoroughly and enjoyed it like myself won't be stuck inches away from those sick (literally) Legendary mounts ): Alternatively, another vendor which sells all the stuff Jeelvic does, but is hard to access/need Legendary or whatever to find him/her/it. That would solve the problem neatly as well, so those dedicated to the event can still enjoy it in the between time (and maybe tempt newer players with the rewards). -DAT
  24. Things you can do when infected - buy a vaccine/relic. Boom. Done. Go inside a phase and /stuck. Boom. Done. Avoid fleet and use a guild flagship instead (because really, a flagship should have everything you need). Boom. Done. Heck, go to fleet anyways and use the aforementioned /stuck. or jump off a ledge. Embrace the event and get an easy 8k by exploding on other people once you've been infectected. Boom. Done (literally). Things that can be annoying but also possible to get over - the Rakghoul event. Things that are far more annoying - scrubs who don't know how to have fun.
  25. I just wish more people knew about the daily so that they wouldn't complain so much when we explode on them. I just want to get that DNA canister and rep ):
