  1. /signed /supported /printing t-shirts to be handed out to the Shady Characters.... Kingpins on low level chars are the highlighted extreme of this issue, since they are >5% hp to be able to capture, and there is only one "spot" for the Kingpin on each planet. I am one Kingpin capture away from finishing completely, Hutta, I unlocked it on my lowbie alt, and even after politely stating I needed to capture please, some lvl 55 ( Who was standing there when I said it, so it wasn't a case of ignorance) smeared it before the grenade could/would go off. I will unlock and complete the capture on a 55 just to avoid this whole deal, but I still think something should be done to sort it out for people doing it in the future.
  2. Been waiting for this for a good long while. Seriously.... please.... Totally agree that having prerequisites for it of acquiring the achievements from getting the Datacron's is the way to go. I have been amused that having the Datacron Master achievement allows me to throw the title on any char in my legacy, but they still have to get the datacrons again.
  3. 1.) Don't know what you people are smoking. Thread is more than a year old, congrats, you have made a zombie. 2.) Tanks comps are fine. Don't expect any companion on your first char, with no legacy presence bonuses, no crew skill backups to top off the comps and your own mods, ears, implants, etc, and no credits support from other chars to fill holes either, - to be wading through everything. Since, that would be ridiculous. Your first char is always a slog in some ways. Otherwise, they are fine. If yours is under performing, it isn't the comps fault...
  4. It's not an ISP problem, you will get logged for inactivity while browsing the GTN for too long if you do not 1.) Jump or take a step in a direction every few minutes. 2.) Have a crew mission finish and click accept on it , and I think 3.) Speaking in chat. You can actually see the "You are now away from the keyboard." message hit your chat log if you watch for it while browsing GTN and not doing any of the above listed actions. This caused me some headache when I first started playing, and then once I figured out why it was doing it, I just make sure to not let it happen anymore. I assume it does the same thing while writing ( a novel...) in a CS ticket. For sure, both seem kind of ridiculous, since you are obviously, NOT away from the keyboard. -__-
  5. I was on my Sniper, who at the time, I had just started gearing at 55, and was in 66's with some 69's sprinkled in and 1-2 58 mods because of the power difference between Artful and Artful A etc etc. So, someone spamming on fleet for 10min lfm for TC SM - Yes, Storymode. I pm them, say Ill come, wanted to get the weekly done. They respond telling me to drop que ( I wanted to wait for reply because I had been in the que for a bit, and I have done that before, drop que and then pm to have them say "Oh Full" *doh*) So, I drop the que, and accept invite. I didn't even have time to look at the Ops frame as it loaded before I was suddenly kicked from the Op. Then the guy pm's me "Sorry dude, not looking to carry undergeared toons through" . If I hadn't just dropped a que I had been in for 45min, it might not have ticked me off so much, but... GG... SM?! Carry undergeared... are you kidding me. 66's and 69's, even with some 58's remaining, is more than fine for a Sniper to dps TC in STORY mode. GFG. My other story, Hammer Station HM 55 , running with my dps sorc main, who is ( and was at the time) full 72 and aug'ed. Group were all guild mates of some guild I hadn't seen before. They start off getting mad that I broke a cc.... Onnnnn the "Strong" mob cc'ed before trash pull with no elite's.... (Something they did more than once). No one died, and yeah.. I broke the cc... because I melted it in like 5 seconds. We get to the triplets boss, and they do the dps order backwards, ok, w/e'r. Whole run I'm ripping threat off the tank all over, using threat dump every cd, which didn't really cause any problem, but just...yeahhh.... We get to the final boss, and they vote kick me, with no reason given at all. Not like I had needed on -anything- since I *didnt* need anything, was just along for weekly/daily. No wipes, pretty sure no one died at all. And they didn't replace me, because as I am exiting the instance, they charged in and start fighting the boss. So the only thing I can think of, is they just kicked me right before final boss to be D-bags and keep me from getting the FP credit for daily/weekly. My only consolidation was that I knew it probably took them 20min to dps the boss down once I left...
  6. It was cute the first few times, it was kinda silly a few times after that..... At this point, when I hear it, especially in a zone that ECHOES it like ultra reverb, it makes me want to turn them into a sleeping bag.
  7. Please, please, please tone down the trigger rate of Treeks commentary. Currently, she makes a little statement in ewokanese after every single combat kill, and while the "aww, she is a cute little psychotic killer" aspect is there initially, that quickly wears off. It really should be toned down so that she does not trigger a comment every single time. Please... pleaseeeee...yesterday wouldn't be too soon. After reading about one of the main issues with some species as options for players being the need to be able to speak basic "because hearing alien dialogue in small bursts here and there works fine, but if you had to listen to a wookie in every cut scene, you would want to put your fist through the monitor after 10min of that" - I am surprised that you all don't realize how quickly it can become nerve grating from a companion character as well. p.s. - The repeating "Advert" audible from what seems like anywhere on Nar Shadaa has a similar effect on my nerves. 10min and I am twitching, 20min later and I'm ready to shank someone. Subtle torture methods I'm telling you.
  8. I wouldn't call it the hardest mount to get in the game, not by a long shot. Only thing making it "difficult" at all really is that its currently over-camped. As time goes on, and more of the campers get it and move on, it will become no big deal, since all it really takes is patience. Once the correct spawn occurs, its a 100% drop, and its easily done solo. Compared to mounts that only drop or *can* drop from HM / NIM ops , and when they do, your looking at a roll off between upwards of 16 people, the solo camp 100% drop rate is a cake walk.
  9. I'm pretty sure he is *trying* to say that there should be some customizations that give a noticeable affiliation to Treek's appearance. At least that is how I took it. Maybe it's because I wish there was something along those lines as well, since no matter how hard I try, I just can NOT picture my Darth Sorcerer member of the Dark Council running around with a gd Ewok...... I just can't do it. I know, I know. She is rip you a new one bad to the azz. But, seriously.... I mean, just think of if you were watching a new cutscene of stuff on a Dread Master, but the whole time, there was an Ewok strolling along with him, mimicking his movements. Could you take that seriously? Or would you just die of laughter at that particular Dread Master. That is what the thought of running around with Treek on any of my Sith does for my image of them. Customization/s with a more sinister, empire affiliated feel to her overall look would help a lot. Don't really think there as much of a need for Republic styled ones, since, her looks pretty much for that already, although, a miniature Havoc squad styled look would be kinda funny.
  10. My main is a Miraluka sorc, and I have a "twin sister" made for a sin. Definitely my favorite species choice, was really glad it was an option on swtor. I have been trying to work as much variety in with alts as I can. As for what I see from other people, that depends on where I am it seems. On starter planets I see a LOT of Zabrak, humans/cyborgs, and the occasional sub species choice or unlocked choice that usually sticks right out amidst the "norm" there. On the fleet, fp's, ops, etc - Really hard to say, out of the ones that aren't covered completely with a mask/helm and therefor unidentifiable, it *seems* like there is a lot of Twileks, Purebloods, Zabrak, and the occasional odd duck mixed in ( ie- Incredible Hulk Mirialan Marauder, Thunderkittys, etc). It's probably because those stand out more in memory than any Human/Cyborgs I have seen without helm/masks. And yes, I do see a large amount of Purebloods overall, apparently, the domestic abuse racial option from them is very popular. I never really saw the appeal after the first time of seeing it and going "oh, you get to beat your companions.... oki..." Although.... I might make one to simply quell the desire to beat 2V-R8 into an oil slick.
  11. Leveling is ridiculously fast and easy..... Of course it is going to be slower on your first char of a brand new legacy. You have no crew skill support from other chars, no presence boosts, and likely, no credits support. All of those things factor into the speed that you mow through things. But even *still*, if you think leveling is slow....GG... you obviously didn't play FFXI Online, now *that*, was slow. I have never bought any of the Legacy xp unlocks, I think they are a complete waste of credits. I only use the mission reward xp boosters, and I still end up only doing the main plantetary chain of missions along with the class missions usually by the time I am arrive on the 4th planet, if not sooner. The pacing is fine imo, you can certainly progress just fine without having to do every mission. I do wonder sometimes how much time some people waste sitting around trying to do a flashpoint or some heroic, when you will progress wayyyyy faster if you just skip those. If I can't solo it, I don't worry about it unless I happen to see a group lfm, then I might jump in, but I certainly wouldn't sit around trying to do a Heroic 4 or a FP while leveling, time much better spent just burning through more normal missions and mobs. Oh, and I don't really do warzones early on very often at all, only if its a class I want to experiment with in pvp for some reason, then I might do a couple. And if you can't get a char to 50-55 within two weeks... I don't think it's the rate of xp's fault... its more the amount of time you are able to invest leveling. I am not saying that your at fault for not investing some obscene amount of time either, no, not at all, I am just saying that, a statement like "Here I am, 4-5 weeks in, and I'm only level 32" is actually, not a very good thing to go off of, at all. Because it IS going to depend on how many hours during each of those days during each of those weeks was spent playing and leveling that specific character. So while person A might spend 3 weeks and only be level 32 because they only leveled that char for an average of 1-2 hours per day, person B could spend 1 week and be level 50+ because they played and leveled the char for an average of 8-10 hours each day. tl:dr - Xp and the rate of leveling is fine really. Something that is hard to make everyone "happy" with, but I can assure you, I have definitely seen leveling that makes swtor feel like light speed.....
  12. I swear by all that is mystical in the force.... I'm going to projectile vomit blood the next time I see someone whining about this... -Again- For the extremely cheap seats, and with added specifics this time round... 1.) Another player killing you does not cause your head to explode or your eyes to melt irl... nor does it cause your character to fragment into scattered pixels and blow away with the wind... you lose... *drum roll* Absolutely nothing material whatsoever when you die to another player. The only thing it *does* cost is 1.) Approximately 2-3min time to rez and return to the place you were ( In the Gree Event Area ) and 2.) Possibly some pride. That is it. That is the extent of the 'OH MY GOD, I got killed in pvpv just doing my event thang in the event area, now my world is crumbling, I can't take it, the stress and strain of that pvp death has caused me to need a prescription for Xanax and Valium and I'm looking into the cost of therapy sessions!!!!!!!???? WHY!!! Why must I suffer such unspeakable acts of barbarism and cruelty at the hands of fellow players!!!!" (Sadly not that far from an actual accurate portrayal) If your avoiding the pvp area, and the pvp missions, and someone goes out of there way to flag you so they can kill you, here is a couple protips for you. Throwing a tantrum, QQing, and whining into general chat about how they just killed you for no reason and blah blah, etc etc ( see above..) is literally only going to *encourage* the actual gankers to continue to go out of the way to try and get you flagged, so they can kill you again... and then laugh as you QQ more. Now, I don't condone this behavior, nor do I partake in it myself, but plenty do. Simple solution - Dont give a crap. Thats right, and amusingly, its really not that difficult.... Someone goes out of there way to get you flagged while your doing your pve thang in the pve zone, and then kills you.... and you... *drum roll* Res, deflag, and go back to what you were doing. Without giving a flip about it. Without you providing the QQ fuel for there amusement tank, they will very likely not bother with you again and continue on looking for someone they can get to throw a fit. And finally.... IF, someone is actually harassing you, by following you around everywhere and attempting to cause you to flag so that they can kill you, over and over. Change instances, if that doesn't work. Report them for it, and then either switch to another char for a while, or just hang out at the base doing some crew missions, sorting your stuff, looking over your legacy and achievements, etc etc until you kill them with boredom and they move on. That is an extreme situation though, and one I have *never* personally seen happen in this game yet. 2.) To truly put the final freaking nail into the coffin of this whole "I'm totallly forced to do pvp even though I'm on a pve server, and QQ I dun wanna, but they ma***keeee meeeee because of the Rep items for the event, QQ QQ, woe is me, its so unfair, cruel and unusual treatment to my tender lil heartmeats!!" ....... This is absolutely the most pathetic bs attempt to whine about something because you want it but don't want to do what is required to get it. -Period- And the truly funny thing is. You do NOT need it. At all. And I shall prove it. This current Gree event was the first one I have actually been able to participate in, all the previous times it went active since I have been playing, *something* managed to come up IRL and cause me to miss it. And when I mean miss it, I mean, I wasn't even able to be online from start to finish of it. The start of this current one was the first time I set foot into that part of Ilum. I had 0, Zero, Zip, Zilch, in Gree Reputation. I dove into it, but avoided the pvp missions because thats just not really my thing, due in part to the poor lappy I play on, but also because while I do like the choice to pvp when I feel like going at it, I am definitely more focused on pve aspects of the game. So, having started the rep from 0 during the current active event, and without doing the pvp missions at all... I now have enough Rep tokens stored to go *beyond* Legend if that was actually possible. And that is with only 2 Alts, one of which I didn't get to 55 until second week of the event. And there was at least two days mixed along that I didn't do the dailies on one of the chars, just because I got sidetracked irl. So... seriously people. Get a grip. Get over dying at the hands of another player, its no different than having a bad pull and dying to a bunch of mobs, except you don't have a repair bill from a pvp death... Learn what being "forced" to do something really means.... And for siths sake.... *stop* making threads whining about how they should change the setup of pve servers, the event, or whatever, to suit your personal dramatic issues with pvp, when in reality - there is no real need for it at all. I really, honestly and truly, hope this message has helped you to better understand the reality you share with the other people who play this game. Have fun, lighten up, and may the schwartz be with you.
  13. I do agree with you on a good portion of what your saying. I would first however, like to inquire as to why you didn't just purchase the Datacubes directly off the gtn? I completed all 8 on my main just to see the cutscenes and to get the set (because I am a rabid collector of stuff..) without getting any from packs. The cubes were such a common drop in the packs that they poured onto the gtn and were selling on my server in the range of 30k - 70k each depending on which specific one. Having said that, I think it is painfully obvious that the whole "Encrypted Datacubes" thing was handled extremely badly. 1.) There was such a understandable outrage felt en masse towards them throwing items into the packs that "unlocked" missions that each had a cutscene. While yes each individual one was a very short cutscene, it was still Story/Mission content being sold exclusively in cartel packs, and in a crumbled mess at that. If people hadn't spoken out quickly and decisively as they did, I dread to think what could have come next if they had pulled it off. 2.)The whole thing was so completely different than *anything* done through the cartel market previously, that for people who didn't read or look into it, the lack of information provided in-game on the whole thing caused a LOT of unneeded confusion. I personally know of several people seeing the "Revered Chroniclers" set listed in the armor sets of the final datacube pack, and then getting extremely frustrated because after dumping a ton of CC's and/or credits into packs, they still hadn't gotten a single piece of the set.... to which I had to sadly inform them of how you actually acquire it. I even responded to someone who was very upset about that on the forums. Yes, it DID say in the "Details" of the collections entry that it actually comes from completing the set of all eight "Encrypted Datacubes", but for someone just looking at the armor set pictures or switching it over to preview the actual pieces, I can easily understand how they might have completely missed that and become very very upset after wasting a lot of funds trying for it. Listing it along with all the armor sets that you get from the pack "normally" was asking for trouble. 3.) I think the only positive thing to really come about from it, was that it caused such an undeniable outrage in a large enough portion of the subs that BW stated they would not be doing something like it again. The whole thing did leave a bad taste for a lot of people though... Personally, I have mixed feelings on the cartel market as a whole. I think the market itself, and a good portion of what they do with it is handled well, and certainly better than it *could* be, since badly handled cash shops can cause the death of a game quicker than some people might realize. At the same time, I think they could improve some aspects of it dramatically, and manage the development of new cm releases alongside actual game play content significantly better than they currently are. Shoveling different colored skins of armor, weapons, mounts, and pets alongside "lore outfits" out in Lotto packs at a staggering pace so that hopefully, people will burn through a ton of $$$ in cc's trying to get the one or two things in each pack they want..... Really would be a whole lot better if they just took the time with each "wave" of CM releases to have more individually unique items of a higher design quality. Oh well... C'est la vie.
  14. Everything you attempted to suggest is already in the game. Off-hands have absolutely no visible features on your character model at all, and there is plenty of custom off-hands of every type in the game, so why would *anyone* pay for off-hands from the cartel market? Even the ones that you could technically count as being visible because they show up when used by specific attacks by the specific classes that use them, I am fairly certain you would have to be spamming screenshot and then go and look through the slideshow to find the split second capture where you can actually see the Scatter Gun or Vibroknife, and even then, I don't really think there is any appearance difference between the types. The complete "Slave Girl" outfit is already a Social Outfit from Nar-Shadaa. There is already adaptive smuggler "return" style pieces from previous cartel packs, check the GTN.
  15. Thankfully, I have yet to run a FP where anything but a joking remark has been made about LS/DS choices coming up with mixed results. The whole concept seems *extremely* ridiculous. I did however, have a lovely convo in gen chat on Alderaan about two weeks ago. There was a couple people talking about LS/DS choices, and I started discussing it as well, with one other player being more prominent in the discussion. It came to a point where he stated that you *need* to go full swing one way or the other, for the endurance from Relics, to which I said that leveling alts, I just make choices the way that I want for the story, that I don't worry about the relics until cap, and that it doesn't really make that much of a difference unless your twinking for pvp, and I said I dont. Following response? "Well then your a noob" Alrighty then, convo over, welcome to ignore. I was just shaking my head. Yes... yes, how DARE I play my character the way that I want in a way that works fine and has no negative effect on anyone else. I am a total failure, and a waste of air for not conforming to a preset rigid guideline of ds or ls to be able to add 500 more hp to my character before I reach cap. People never cease to amaze me, its just sadly, more often than not, amazing how big of an A-hole they act like.
  16. Should be a white outline around each debuff / DoT that *you* specifically cast on a target while in a group or raid, that only shows to your character. This would be a nice, simple solution for the really annoying mess that occurs when you have multiples of the same debuff / DoT's being put on a target, most especially in large raids. Make it a toggle option if needs be, but I can't see any reason at all why anyone would object to this simple addition.
  17. You have got to be kidding me.... *head desk* *head desk* *head desk* *head desk* Since its all about the "challenge" of the hunt and kill, and won't use a weapon like that, and blah blah blah, then why don't you just equip him with the crappiest crap piece of crap green you possibly can. And while your at it, strip him naked. Then he can REALLY have a challenge in every hunt and kill, and REALLY earn some Jagganath points! And while we are at it, Blizz should be able to build anything from any craft, at any skill level, and make mounts, because heis a Jawa, so come on, that is what they do! And Mako should have a GTN terminal function since she IS hooked up to the whole network through her cyber mods right? Right!? And Khem Val should have an ability that one-shots any force user from the start, because he is a deshade assassin and *omnomnoms* force users! And Jorgan should be able to have full access to any custom armor and weapon, because he is a Republic Trooper with command skill and connections within the Republic Military, and heck, the Trooper character should have access to that as well! And... Oh, I also want a Deathstar, I mean come on, lets just skip all this nonsense and fly to the planet, and one-shot the whole thing in one button press!!!! P.S. - Gear your comp however you want, but don't come whining about how you should get a free custom weapon at the start for *your* companion just because *you* don't want to equip that companion with a custom weapon that doesn't fit *your* concept of what they should be wielding. G f G
  18. The self-entitlement in this thread is staggering, it really is. And apparently, even the simplest of concepts and explanations of reality are beyond comprehension to some, but, I will explain it clearly, one more time, for the cheap seats. 1.) The missions are clearly marked [PVP], the area is marked contested, you are warned for 10 seconds your going to be flagged. Period. So far, in this thread, I have seen the excuse that "we are just doing our pve thing at the pylon", there are 3 pylons for Primary Testing in the pve area, and 3 in the contested area, there is absolutely no reason whatsoever for you to go into the contested pvp area to do Primary Testing other than you are impatient and do not want to take turns with other groups doing it in the pve area...... I have seen the excuse that its all because of the rep, that your specifically accepting the clearly marked [PVP] missions and going into the contested area to try and complete them ( and presumably, alone, since the word "ganked" has been thrown out about 50 times, which, again, rings of being too impatient to just get a group..). However, the "but but but I neeeeeeds to do them for the Reputation itemmsss QQ" is not a valid excuse either, at all. Everyone has the exact same 12,000 weekly cap on Reputation, you don't get to go over that cap from special PVP only rep items, you don't get to go over that cap if you do all the dailies on 20 alts. And to really highlight how ridiculous the reputation excuse is, I hit the rep cap for this week in 2 days and a single alt, without doing the pvp dailies. 2.) Choosing a pve server does not mean that everyone on that sever has no desire whatsoever to ever engage in pvp in any, way, shape, or form. You cannot presume that is what it means just because *you* have no desire to engage in pvp. There are plenty of people who choose to play on PVE servers because there primary focus is pve, but they still enjoy doing pvp when they choose too. You have the choice. You are choosing to accept PVP labeled missions, you are choosing to ride right into the Contested Area, your choosing to keep right on going as the Timer flashes across the middle of your screen in bright red, and then your choosing to try and get up on a soapbox and have a QQ fest about how the entire pvp aspect of the event should be removed because you got killed by someone. Nothing forces you to accept the pvp missions, or to enter the pvp contested area. Nothing. Not the rep, not any pve mission, nada, zip, zilch, nothinnnng. 3.) What is the oh so horrific, life altering, **** my reality is shattered, holy smoked bacon batman what the hell do I do now, thing that is happening here? Your being killed by someone ( after making all of the previous outlined choices to accept the pvp missions and enter the pvp contested area), exactly what is so earth shattering with that, I am honestly curious. It's not any different than you dying for any other reason, except that its another player and not a mob that killed you, and you don't have repair costs from being killed by another player. The res point is a whopping 2min away from pretty much anything you would need to go to. So what, exactly, are you getting so bent out of shape about? Oh, you got "ganked". Oh well that changes everything then doesn't it, wait.... No... it doesn't change anything. At all.... If you choose to accept the pvp missions, and enter the pvp contested area, and then you get killed by a single person or 20 people in pvp, it is not their fault, and you have no grounds to try and blame them, the event, the game, etc. etc. If you choose to keep going right back to the same place, in the pvp contested area, in the exact same instance, 2min after being killed in pvp, and low and behold, you get killed again, by the exact same person or persons, or someone or someones completely different... it is not their fault, and you have no grounds to try and blame them, the event, the game, etc. etc. I really, sincerely hope this helps some of you obtain a stronger grasp on the reality in which you share an existence in.
  19. What I think kind of sucks about this, is that, Blue and Red are supposed to be the faction representing colors from Gree perspective, hence the title awards of Blue Octagon for the Republic achievement and Red Octagon for the Empire achievement, so... the Blue Sphere is available from the rep vendor, but the Red Sphere is only a super rare drop from Hm/NiM Xeno OP. Kind of boggled why they didn't put both colors on the rep vendor, and stick some other color in as the uber rare Ops drop, like a "New Blacklight Sphere from Hm/NiM Xeno!". It's not like throwing a new color skin onto an existing mount is a massive undertaking, so it just seems like an extremely poor choice to have split the accessibility of the two colors that are supposed to be representative of faction allegiance from the Gree's view in this manner. That's my two cents anyways.
  20. There are several companions that come with unique looking gear, but sadly, it is never better than green quality ( weapon aside ). While in some cases I do prefer to pick out and make a look for them out of custom/adaptive pieces, having access to custom moddable pieces of there unique gear would be great.
  21. The presence bonus legacy unlock from companions is not for max affection, it is for finishing *all* the conversations with each specific companion, and the conversations being available are based off of affection *and* story progression. If you have them at max affection, then most will trigger at the start of Chapter 3 as previously mentioned, but there is some classes that have some special exceptions, or at least one for sure.
  22. http://i41.tinypic.com/xc7hvk.jpg I'm not sure if Gault is renting himself out as a billboard on the side or if the recent patch broke something somewhere with the Primordial Sniper Besh ( only thing I have him equipped with atm besides his default stuff) or wth this is.
  23. /signed I thought this was an unnecessary restriction from the moment it was announced, and it just gets more and more frustrating with each new pack...
  24. I had it on a couple of the patrolling mando's on Dromund Kaas, at the camp where you are sent to get the head of the big bad beasty inside the dank, dark cave. I took a couple SS's, because it was too funny seeing the big suit of armor striding around with only two lil' eyeballs floating above it instead of a neck and head.
  25. I *wanted* to use Xalek as main after I got him, and I did gear him up. Then, at the point when I repeatedly tested and saw that Xalek with *better* gear than Khem, tanked about half as good, I said eff it. Khem is a beast of a tank, literally.
