  1. I think you are troll here or you are just being ignorant. The dev post you linked dates from 2015. But the game has been around since 2011. In these 4 years, players came to the game who wanted to play SWTOR as what it was back then: a MMORPG. And those people are of course disappointed that the new content is not MMO based. So in the end we didn't get what we could expect when we started playing this game. I just don't get it that you don't get it.
  2. Firstly, as somebody else already said, get into Hard Modes if you want to experience actual healing. In most Story Modes or Tactical Falshpoints the incoming damage is so low that healing can get boring, that's not very surprising. Secondly, playing as healer doesn't only include pure healing. You also have your buffs that you can use wisely according to the situation, just like a DPS or a tank who uses defensives. Furthermore, resource mangement plays a bigger part for healers than for other roles. Of course, cleansing is another aspect that is outside of just healing. It is not so important in SM, but there are HM fights where you simply can't mess up your cleanses. That all adds up to a nice range of abilities that can be used for your job as a healer. And, as many already said, there is also the off-dpsing that adds even more abilities and options. I personally find healing much more interesting than dpsing, because every fight can be different. While when dpsing you simply can follow the ever same pattern of a fight, for a healer it is never the same, because you never know who is standing in bad stuff and who you have to save from their near death experience. A good healer can make a difference in every group, especially if the group is struggling with some kind of content, because as a healer you have the power to keep people alive and help them. At least in rather difficult content that is the case. In SM and Tacticals not so much. When things go kind of wrong in a fight, that's the time for a healer to shine.
  3. There are 9 operations now for lvl 65. That means 8 days there are easy operations on groupfinder and then 1 day there is a slightly tougher one. What is the big deal? You don't need this operation for story purposes, because you have the solo option for that. There is no unique gear hidden behind this boss. You can get those pieces from other operations as well. There are plenty of bosses that one can kill all the time. I think it is a good thing that there is at least one slightly more difficult one, because when someone kills it there is at least for this boss a bit of a feeling of having achieved something that is not fed to you with a spoon.
  4. What was the problem? If it was rage storm or the cross, people just need to pull themselves together and focus a bit more than usual in SM ops. If it was enrage, then have you tried to bring 5 DPS and only 1 Tank? If yes, then your were just really, really unlucky to get so many bad DPS in your group. I agree that this boss is definitely more difficult than most bosses. But I don't think it needs a nerf. Bug fixes and improved FPS performance it would definitely need though.
  5. 208 gear, especially when augmented should be fine for HM FPs and SM ops, because you will get a bolster anyway. Some HM FP bosses are a bit on the tougher side though and depending on your group and what role you play, you still might experience some gear related difficulties. But in my opinion nothing that should keep you from not trying them. By the 9 hours wait I guess you mean the groupfinder rotation. If you want to use groupfinder, then the answer is yes. There is one operation up only for 24 hours. The advantage of this is that people who interested in groupfinder operations are automatically all concentrated on the same operation and therefore it is easier to find people to join. Other than that, you can do any SM operation at any time you want once a week (lockouts), assuming you find 7 other players to join you, of course. But advertising your planned run in fleet chat or joining a guild will probably solve this issue. What server are you playing on btw? I have characters on The Red Eclipse (Rep and Imp) and Ebon Hawk (Republic only). If you happen to play on these servers and we are in the same faction, just tell me your in-game name and I can give you a hand with getting into that kind of content.
  6. I'm all for letting the NiM raiders have their sepcial rewards exclusively. There is so much other stuff that they can come up with to sell on the CM that all those "gotta-haves" can buy. NiM raiders spend a lot of time within the game and therefore do their part to keeping the game active and alive. They are also the ones who lead the way through ops for the whole community by finding out mechanics and putting guides together. They deserve something in return. I'm not a NiM raider myself and I still prefer my tauntaun from Hoth over all the other CM and ops animal mounts.
  7. @OP Don't worry. You will get your character(s) back. Remember that we are just past the holidays and New Year. Some employees might have been off work, which is why it might take a bit longer at the moment until your ticket is being dealt with. Btw you don't even need to give them a reason why you deleted your character, if it was accidentally or on purpose. Just send a ticket and ask them to restore it. Don't forget to mention the character's name and server, it will speed up the process. In my case I was messaged by a CS guy in game when I was online. He just needed confirmation about the character's name. And minutes later I had my character back. Yet, I don't remember how long it took to get a response after I first sent the ticket. Might have been a few days. So, don't worry. I'm sure you'll get yours back eventually.
  8. My sage healer, of course. It's my main, always has been, always will be. The tougher decision will be who of my 8 other toons goes next then. Can't tell yet.
  9. I think he is suggesting that a new mechanic has leaked through with the latest patch. Like NiM mechanics leaked through in DP HM before the release of NiM. Otherwise it makes no sense to refer this issue to 4.0.
  10. I play all roles on both sides and I can tell you that the flashpoints are the same. However, on imp side there are a lot more smash derpers with bad gear who want to play the evil guy and who care more about how vicious the animations of their toon look than dealing with mechanics and AoE damage properly. At least that's what it is like on my server. And that makes pugging a lot harder on imp side. And it is not just flashpoints. Also pugging operations is harder. I haven't wiped on Underlurker on rep side for months now when pugging. On imp side I have to get very, very lucky with my group to pass that very same boss. Maybe 1 in 4 groups kills it. So in my opinion it is not a problem of the tuning of the flashpoints but of the "bad guy side" attracting a less favorable kind of players to play with.
  11. Hi AylaL, don't just queue in GF. The groups are usually forming through general chat on the fleet and once the group is full they just use GF to travel and get the extra commendations. Therefore, it is very difficult to actually find a free spot through GF. So just wait on the fleet until you see someone forming a group for the particular operations and whisper them. When DF or DP is the current operation in groupfinder, it should be easy enough to get into a group that way, because groups are pretty much constantly forming then.
  12. Yeah, storywise I don't share the view that defeating the Emperor will definitely bring SWTOR to an end. I mean he's an Emperor. "The king is dead! Long live the king!" There will be a successor. Also, I already thought about the "alien" invasion scenario too. That would make another good reason to have one story/operation design for both factions. Maybe a powerful army from another galaxy that is roaming through space attacks. There could be a fleet of Kling.....oh wait.....that's not....forget what I just said. Anyway, we had a huge story arc that made us fight 6 rogue Sith who wear funny hats and who live in a medieval castle that was built by the architect formerly known as Sauron. I'm sure they will come up with a new supervillain.
  13. Some people might consider the outfit designer such a great thing that is far better than cross server.....
  14. QFT But I would add that there will be a second announcment that will state that they are working on something great, but can't give any details. And THEN nothing will happen....
