  1. Yeah, I know the Volatile Substance trick but still figuring out how to really time it since as you said it has to "detonate" so using the ability doesn't immediately make backstab useable. Basically, as you said, I find myself just hacking away with Laceration and Veiled Strike over and over then move to next target and repeat so killing a group of 3-4 even weak targets seems so slow.
  2. I'm typically a ranged DPS player but I have always liked the idea of playing a stealth class, so the new combat styles gave me a good chance to try it out. First, I picked up Assassin & Shadow on my force characters and loved it. Was able to kill stuff fast and generally found it to be fun. Then I decided to pick up Operative as a second style for my Agent and I must be doing something wrong because it takes forever to kill basic solo content trash groups. It's not like I'm dying or anything, it just takes forever to kill one target at a time in a group of weak / strong enemies. I have read the only 7.0 guide I could find but guides are really intended for max dps on ops bosses. I'm not a raider, and this is not my main character, just trying it out for casual story / conquest stuff. As I said, I'm not having trouble clearing stuff it just seems really slow. I know this is a single target focused class and I don't expect the same kind of AoE that other classes have but still seems like I'm doing something wrong. I've been playing Concealment but maybe that is not the best choice? Backstab requires stealth and in group content you can use the combat stealth but when playing solo the combat stealth exits you from combat and resets the encounter so kinda useless. Would Lethality be better? I know it's hard to give advice without seeing what I'm doing but any general tips for dealing with spread out groups of enemies, which discipline / abilities work well, or general tips would be appreciated. Thanks!
  3. Exactly my thoughts which is why I am baffled every time I see someone saying Cybertech is one of the best crew skills to have or “great for any class.” Even while leveling, who bothers crafting and swapping mods when you level so quickly in this game and out level gear so fast? Synthweaving, Armormech and Armstech are so much better with crafting augments and kits or Biochem as everyone needs stims, medpacks and adrenals. Even Artifice has dyes which are also consumable. In my experience Cybertech is by far the worst Crew Skill.
  4. As a level 70 player with 600 skill in Cybertech I really need someone to help me understand what makes Cybertech at all useful to a level 70 player (either for yourself or to sell on GTN, I’m not interested in gearing alts). I can craft mods, enhancements and ear pieces but as I understand it all end game gear comes from Galactic Conquest and will already have stats better than anything I could craft, is that incorrect?
  5. Agree 100%. I'm not saying the rewards are bad. The bonus HK chapter could be really awesome and having HK is better than not having him but it is in no way worth $120 (8 months of sub fees). Not to mention that we already have like 25 companions now all of which function exactly the same. Am I really going to keep paying so I can have HK-55 instead of the HK-51 that I already have when they do the excat same thing? I would have stayed subbed if we were getting chapter 10 this month but no new chapters between Oct. 27th and Feb 11th?? Forget it. I will gladly pay $15 every 3-4 months to get several chapters at once and have a great time running my 8 alts through them and then unsub again. No way I'm paying $120 for one hour of extra content HK or not.
  6. So, I'm not going to say the rewards are bad but I personally do feel that they are not worth $15 a month. I still enjoy the game and I will continue to play as preferred status and maybe in August I will pay another $15 and I'm sure I will enjoy taking my 8 alts through chapters 10-16 but I just can't see paying $15 every month for 1 hour of new content every 30 days. The HK chapter sounds fun but to get it I have to stay subscribed for the next 8 months? That's about $120 for maybe one hour of bonus content? Also, I enjoyed HK-55 as much as anyone but at this point I have like 25 companions and they all function exactly the same with the same abilities, and I already have HK-47 so do I really need to pay $15 to get another HK in a different color that doesn't do anything different from the 25 other companions I have? Sure I'd like to have him but it's not going to make me stay subbed just for that. Don't even get me started on early access, that's a punishment not a reward. Early Access = Beta Tester. This is not meant to be negative, I just wanted to offer my feedback in case any devs read these threads. I love the game and will keep playing but the content is too few and far between to keep paying.
  7. My first character at launch was a Zabrek Bounty Hunter. He looks very bad *** and I still think of him as my "main" even if I do play other characters more often now. I've run 6 characters through Kotfe so far but in my mind that first character is my personal canon for my swtor story. I always run him through new content first. I never esc out of conversations to make different choices with him. Whatever chocies he makes, he lives with and I think thats part of why I like him best. He's made some poor choices and has some regrets but always did what he thought was best for him and his crew at the time. My other characters I will mess around with trying different conversation options, saying whatever I think the companion wants to hear to get the best influence gain or best reward, etc.
  8. Can anyone confirm if Xalex is still bugged or is it safe to go recruit him on any class?
  9. Thanks. I figured it was ok but I spent a lot of time getting all 8 classes to complete chapter 3 and since the free 60s don't get credit for completing class story I was a little paranoid that I might loose the legendary status. I know the new character will not have titles. I'm not worried about affection with companions since I will most likely just use the new ones anyway. I'm not worried about loosing the class buff since I will still get that buff from the mirror class. I don't have any special mounts unlocked on that character. Is there anything I'm overlooking that the new level 60 won't have that I might miss?
  10. I'm thinking of using my free level 60 to replace a character class I already have because I want to switch advanced class. If I do so, I can't imagine I will ever play the old character again but before I delete him I want to be sure I will not loose credit for things I completed with him. For example, datacrons he discovered... will they still be unlocked for my legacy if I delete the character that discovered them? Will I Ioose legenday status if I delete one of the 8 characters that completed chapter 3? What about things I have purchased with that character and were added to my collections? Will my other characters no longer be able to unlock that item for the legacy? How about in the legacy window where it lists republic and imperial unlocks and shows each of the companion stories you completed. Will those be gone if I delete the character that completed those companion quests? I know the new character will not have any of these things but I'm more concerned with how deleting the old level 55 character will effect my legacy and/or other characters. Thanks
  11. My group was me (60) and another 60 with I think a 35 and 20ish,
  12. Also, I dont mind helping new players but the flashpoint I was in tonight was Directive 7 and two others in the group were very low levels. Even being bolstered to 65 they dont have many skils and neither of them had played D7 or any other flashpoint before. I dont think its a good idea letting players have access to all flashpoints from level 10.
  13. One more thought... when you buy other items from the cartel market like a mount or armor they get added to your collection so even if you delete them you can still pull down another copy. Even something like an unlock which is consumed is still permanant, you cant delete or ever lose access to the thing you unlocked. It seems odd they would take cash for something you could then delete only because it seems to go against how the cartel market works with all other items. I think buying a cartel market 60 character should unlock the right to have one instant 60 character. If you want to have two instant 60 characters you would need to by another token but I don't see why you should have to buy another token if you only ever want to keep one instant 60 character on your roster.
  14. I was just reading the description for the 60 token on the cartel market and it says the token grants an additional character slot and the ability to make a level 60 character. So you are actually getting a new character slot which is what made me think that new slot was a special slot for a 60 character. Also on the character select screen it lists the number of character slots available and then the number of 60 characters which again made me think they were two different types of slots. From what people are saying it sounds like if you make a free 60 and then delete it after level 61 you cant make a new one but I guess you keep the additional character slot???
  15. Is the free 60 a special character slot that you could create a 60, delete it and use the slot again to make a new 60 or does it give you a one time use to make a 60 and then it's gone even if you delete the character? I'm thinking I would like to use the slot to try out a few classes and see which one I like best.
