  1. I am a guy who prefers playing female characters for the obvious reasons. That said, I romanced Vector Hylis on my Imp Agent because I have always been fascinated by the concept of the "Hive Mind" ever since the Borg from Star Trek were debuted. I personally think that Bioware did an incredibly good job depicting what a romance between a normal person and a character who is part of a hive mind would look like... but that is just my opinion.
  2. doesn't stop the other things the Gold Bots do to ruin the economy though...
  3. I recently had a very similar problem... I was ultimately forced to completely uninstall the game from my computer using the Control Panels Uninstall feature. Once I did that I had to go to this page: http://www.swtor.com/download and redownload the entire game from scratch. Once that was done, I was able to play the game with absolutely no issues. I hope this helps?
  4. I wasn't sure whether this was the right place to post this or not, but was kind of curious if someone could help answer this question for me: I was wondering which class has the most romance options when the character's gender is female instead of male? In other words, if I were to pick a female character at the character creator, which class should I pick if I want the most romancing options. Doesn't matter whether we are talking about companions, or generic NPC's, or whatever. Please no spoilers, just answer the question straight up.
  5. Hey guys. I was wondering if I could get some input on what the all around best Non-Flavor of the Month DPS class happens to be? I personally prefer ranged classes, but am willing to branch out and select a class that isn't necessarily ranged. I want something that would be viable for use in both Regs and Ranked PvP, but which isn't restricted by necessarily being a Flavor of the Month class. Thanks for any input.
  6. What is the easiest class to level up, and do well in end game content? Also while I am on the topic, what is the best PvP class that is NOT a flavor of the month class?
  7. Does anyone know when patch 3.2.1 goes live? Today's patch was patch 3.2b was it not?
  8. The class does need some help in PvP. The lethality spec puts out the highest numbers, however the marksman spec gets the most kills overall of all the sniper specs. The engineering spec is second best in terms of overall kills. In 4v4 I would recommend lethality if you can get another DoT spec player in your group. In 8v8 I would recommend either marksman or engineering. We are however one of the kings of PvE content
  9. since 3.0? Not a whole lot for Sniper/Gunslinger. Most of the changes were for the other classes. These were the only changes I could find for Sniper/Gunslinger since 3.0 Hope this helps?
  10. it really depends on if you are going solo or if you have a group backing you up in ranked pvp. in regs just about anything can be viable.
  11. Don't know if you missed the quote I was responding to or not; but that person wanted to get rid of Commando and Mercenaries healing spec so we could get a better idea of the actual DPS that they do when compared to the dedicated DPS classes (Sentinel, Sniper, etc...). I was merely pointing out that in order to do that you need to get rid of all the other non-DPS oriented specs so you could have a true test of how the DPS classes are performing... And no that was not what they were asking... though that was probably the intent. I never said those three weren't bottom of the barrel. I said that to get a true test of the DPS in the game you need to look at all of the DPS specs, not just three of them. otherwise you get a biased result.
  12. according to the article on the achievement list the designation of commander isn't actually a rank so much as it is the word used to refer to someone of any rank who is in command of other troops.
  13. why on earth would anyone have 1000 crit? there is a critical hit rating cap in this game and I believe it is well under the 1000 point threshold... Personally I find slotting in 2 Advanced Cartel Eviscerating Crystals (1 off hand, 1 main hand) to be more than sufficient on the crit rating front when combined with the Criical Rating Buff that you get for reaching Chapter 2 on a Agent / Smuggler.
  14. No, in order to see that you would also need to get rid of the following: Shield Specialist / Shield Tech Sawbones / Medicine Kinetic Combat / Darkness Seer / Corruption Defense Immortal Only then would you be able to get a legitimate metric of which DPS class is doing the most / least DPS. Even then you would need to have a way to know what spec each person is using at any given time to know which spec is under or over performing in terms of overall DPS. And game balance would be all shot to hell if we got rid of all of the above disciplines.
  15. If that is true then there seems to be a rather limited amount of ranks available in that time period. Most militaries, even in the real world have multiple degrees of several of those ranks. The fact that the Republic Military doesn't appear to have those degree's is odd to me...
  16. so I was looking up the titles of the Trooper class and discovered that the Trooper gets the following titles: Sergeant Lieutenant Captain Major Prior to that I looked up the ranks in the Grand Army of the Republic (Prequel Trilogy, and Clone Wars) and what I found is the following: We skipped 2 ranks to automatically become a Sergeant We skipped 2 more ranks when we were upgraded to Lieutenant Captain is the rank immediately after Lieutenant... And Major is the rank immediately after Major. In effect we skip 4 total ranks during the course of the Trooper Storyline. Granted there is a total of 4 additional ranks (not counting Jedi Exclusive ranks) in that army, but we managed to reach the lowest rank at which we theoretically should be in command of 300-800 soldiers at a time. Do we really need a higher rank than that? For reference the ranks after Major in the Republic Army are as follows: Battalion Commander Regimental Commander Senior Commander Marshal Commander Jedi Exclusive Ranks (which don't really exist in SWTOR to my knowledge) were: Jedi Commander (Padawans) Jedi General (Knights and Masters) Senior Jedi General (Senior Masters) High Jedi General (Members of the Jedi Council)
  17. that is singularly unhelpful advice...
  18. That only really applies to the people who are stupid about 12x EXP and fail to realize that they need to go into it only AFTER having already leveled at least one or two toons to level 50-55 (if not 60) first so that they know what end game play is like, that way they don't get totally pwned when they finally get to that level of play. Additionally the gear is rather easily fixed simply by doing a few days worth of KDY after the 12x EXP is finished and earning 154 Basic Commendations to outfit your character in level 50-55 Armorings, Mods, Enhancements, Barrels, Hilts, etc... You don't really need to go all out for set bonuses as a fresh 50 either, plain basic comm gear is more than sufficient at level 50 and is incredibly easy to get within two or three days if you save up all your weeklies. Merp... I had forgotten about that... though I imagine the level 50-60 gear will still cost 4 commendations each instead of the 2 commendations that pre-level 50 gear costs. Which means that for the Head, Body, Hands, Legs, Feet, Offhand, and Mainhand that will cost 84 Commendations for level 50 and beyond, add in the Waist and Wrist that is 100 commendations total. Prior to level 50 that is 50 commendations total for everything. And it takes 3 days doing nothing but dailies to get 120 Basic Commendations, toss in the Weekly and it takes 2 [Daily] Emerging Conflicts, 3 [Daily] Storymode Flashpoints, 2 [Daily] Tactical Flashpoints, and 1 [Weekly] Searching for Allies to get everything you need at level 50. And the 2x [Daily] Tactical Flashpoints, plus 1x [Weekly] Searching for Allies is more than sufficient to get you all of your Armorings after reaching level 50 once 3.2.0 goes live, and since Armorings is what determines your survivability more than anything else due to it determining your armor rating... and because Tactical Flashpoints use Bolster, then using Tactical Flashpoints to get your Armorings is a generally safe idea!
  19. If your desire is to see massive amounts of pewpew lasers, then Troopers and Bounty Hunters of any sort are the wrong class to be playing. Troopers and Bounty Hunters are more about the missiles, Jet Packs, and Flame / Electricity Throwers than anything else. No, if you want pewpew lasers then the class for that is going to be the Sniper or Gunslinger as that is sort of what they do. Though specifically you will want the Marksmanship / Sharpshooter specs, as the others tend to focus on slightly different things. Since you said you prefer melee classes overall I will suggest the following classes as they are all melee: Vanguard / Powertech - while it has some ranged attacks, most of its abilities are 10 meters or less in range placing it squarely in the melee category. Operative / Scoundrel - much like the Vanguard / Powertech most of this classes abilities are between 4 to 10 meters in range. Assassin / Shadow - ditto the above two entries for this, especially with the recent nerf to the Balance Spec on this class. Though the Infiltration Spec does get one really powerful 30 meter range attack. Both this and Operative / Scoundrel are the only classes with access to the Stealth Mechanic giving them a powerful tool to avoid combat if necessary as well as to inflict powerful spike damage. Marauder / Sentinel - melee DPS is kind of this classes thing Juggernaut / Guardian - either melee DPS or melee Tank, this can do both, and is frankly one of the best at both in the game currently.
  20. Talk about a complete and utter waste of 6 to 7 hours of time...
  21. So with that in mind Whojoo, which would you say is better overall? Lightning or Madness?
  22. I am confused... is everyone that is complaining purposely gimping themselves by completely removing Force Storm/Quake from their DPS rotation in the entirety? I mean that is the only reason I can think of for why someone would be suffering a 700-800 DPS loss in their rotation... I would also like to point out that the lowest parsing individuals on Parsley parse in at around 3.5k DPS. So parsing at 4.4k DPS is not the lowest that can be obtained by a long margin.
  23. in simple 1v1 vs. a Jugg at below level 30 the Sniper will do rather well. However if you have to deal with other people interfering with the fight other than just the Jugg, then the Sniper will easily get overwhelmed unless it has some form of back up, preferably in the form of a healer. Unfortunately getting a pocket healer is nearly impossible unless you preform the party ahead of time.
  24. it's a bit old, but it appears Hitler certainly understands the pain of the Sorcerers:
