  1. I am unable to log on about 20% of the time. This has been happening consistently for at least 3 months. The launcher initialization times out then I get this text next to a yellow pyramid caution icon: "The application has encountered an unspecified error. Please try this patch again." Then, about 25 seconds after closing the launcher, I get this on the desktop screen: "Error Unable to communicate with external UI. Exiting." If I wait a few hours, I'm usually able to log on. Or sometimes I can logon if I restart my computer and try right away. But usually I just shut it all down in disgust and go do something else. Incredibly aggravating!
  2. So basically there are now 2 activities in this game: MM Hammer Station and stealth Red Reaper. Everything else is a complete waste of time. Apparently this "system" is working for some people. But for me, the game just isn't any fun any more.
  3. OMG! I'm going to try this immediately. Update: I'll keep trying but it's not looking good. Can't make the jump onto that protuberance. Thanks for your reply.
  4. I am unable to fully reveal the Junker's Junction section of the Mek-Sha map on Republic characters. I can't get into the Atmospheric Systems Access area (an Imperial H2 area) so the Junker's Junction map remains partially hidden and not filled in. Does anyone know if there's a way to fully reveal it on Republic characters?
  5. Well, I suppose "C'mon, let's go" is a touch on the bossy side but I really miss "Yes! More exploring.".
  6. This is why I wish they'd immediately return the 4 companions who are still in limbo. Just give them back and don't worry about some grand re-entrance or whatever. Just give them back and we can finally put the disastrous Kotfe/Kotet behind us forever. Bioware never should have touched base story companions in any way. Hopefully the people that thought doing so was a good idea have all long ago been fired.
  7. Consular companion Nadia has lost her voice. Since her return with the Ossus patch, she no longer speaks in combat. She is completely silent, doesn't speak at all. Before Bioware ruined this game with Kotfe/Kotet, Nadia was quite talkative and said cute things like: "No one hurts my friends". Now she says nothing. It's been months now since she returned. Why has this failure not yet been remedied?
  8. They SAY it's being worked on. Believe them if you want. My trust level with Bioware is at zero. How pathetic is it that they've broken the game so badly that it's become a MAJOR undertaking to fix it! And at this point they don't even know when or if a fix is possible? What a bunch of dolts. Learn to code!
  9. Exactly right. The game is simply not playable as it is. If there are those who are playing at a sufficiently casual level that these heavily touted "workarounds" are effective, then that's wonderful for them. Party on! But at my level of play, very similar to what you're describing for yourself, the game is currently unplayable and the "workarounds" do nothing to improve things. The fact that this total breakdown has not been resolved while the developers are gushing about lame improvements like a frickin' color wheel is an absolute insult to the quality this game once had.
  10. It is beyond belief that we are supposed to be endlessly satisfied with: "We are aware of the problem and we have people looking into it". This is not some stupid problem with gear clipping or misdelivered dialogue. THIS IS A DEBILITATING BREAKDOWN IN FUNDAMENTAL GAMEPLAY. And their excuse for not fixing it yet is: "This is going to be really hard to fix"? Duh!! So quit investing resources in trivial matters like guild icons and color wheels when the game is completely broken. FIX THE GAME! It's like your car won't get out of first gear and your idiotic repair shop is recommending a new paint job. I am also really tired of hearing the "just use passive on and off on and off till they get around to fixing things." That is no solution. It's not even a temporary work around. I don't know how slowly those people play, but in my game things are moving really fast and there is zero time to babysit the companion. I'm not playing a game that is this badly broken. And how about explaining to us who broke this game in the first place and how it happened. It would be nice to know whether or not we can expect improved performance from the developers in the future or do they expect us to tolerate this level of incompetence as a normal state of affairs. FIX THE GAME!
  11. It is what it is. RNG. I run the Ossus weekly on 24 characters and usually disintegrate around 20 of the items. I just look at it now that I'm running the weekly for 175 components and choose to do it or not on that basis. It takes about 30 minutes to run so really, 175 components is a pretty fair return even if you didn't get lucky.
  12. As to the amount of content, must consider that RotHC also included seeker droid and macrobinocular story lines, including 3 very well done h4's, seeker droid discovery areas all over the galaxy plus a GSI weekly and dailies on multiple planets, including even more heroics. Sadly, much of this content failed to survive the game 4.0 dumb-down purge.
  13. Bumping a previously submitted message from 12 days ago is dev tracker visibility? How about some information on the fix, what it's going to be and when it's going to happen now that you know what the problem is.That would be visibility. btw, I bet you and your team have no idea how much agony you've caused players with this bugged fight. Does anyone on your team actually play this game?
  14. KendraP giving her evaluation of tanks while completely omitting 1 of them from the analysis! Less than useless? Probably.
  15. Bioware seems to be in total denial about how thoroughly they've destroyed the companion system. Not only are all ranged companions completely unusable, but, like you said, all companions now lag so far behind the player that even melee comps are only fractionally as reliable as they were when this game was actually fun to play (i.e., pre 4.0). I've been submitting bug reports, customer service tickets and forum postings about all the many companion related fails for weeks but no one at fail central seems remotely interested. Maybe we could at least get the now standard: "going forward we expect to issue guidance on what we intend to issue guidance on in the future" from therm about companions.
  16. Glad to hear this problem is being addressed. A lot of players get very angry about this frequent bug. While you're fixing the Ossus WB's, there is a very big problem with the droid fight as well. Frequently the fire pits on the ground (from exploded fuel tanks by or under the boss) do not render at all. They are completely invisible yet they give off their affects. When this happens, about half the players in the group are turned into zerg. Please fix this too. Thank you.
  17. Honestly, no disrespect intended, but I really hope developers don't waste time on the cosmetic trivialities you've listed while the entire class of ranged companions is so hopelessly bugged that they are all unusable.
  18. Roll to cover still works the same way but the new maps don't have any cover locations built in so there's nothing to roll to. Cover is not nearly so critical in current game as it was in original game. You don't even have to be in cover most of the time anymore, although it provides some excellent perks.
  19. One definite class of problematic companions is: "Base game companions used as main characters in KotFE/KotET." For instance, Vette. The KotFE main character Vette is a completely different creature from the Sith Warrior Vette. She even had different labels in the Companions and Contacts window. So when you take a character to Ossus without doing the god-awful game content 4.0-5.0, the game gives you a second version of Vette-the KotFE Vette. So at this point you had 2 Vettes-the one you've used the entire game (which is at influence lvl 50). And the brand-spanking new Vette Clone which is at level 1 and which will be forever ignored (except you have to skip over her in the summoning window). Except now you can't ignore the new Vette because the game just deleted the Vette you've played with for 7 years!. She's gone. So is her level 50 influence and our 7 year relationship. And I am left instead with a lvl 1 Vette who is a complete stranger to me (and who, as of this writing, isn't usable anyway because trying to use Vette causes a Sith Warrior to lag so badly that you can't play the game. But that's a topic for another thread). The exact same thing happened with T7-01, Aric Jorgan, Kaliyo and Gault. In each instance, the game deleted my class story companion (and its maxed out influence) and left me with the KotFE lvl 1 version instead. I know there are many other bugs and anomalies affecting companions but I bet this is the most commonly experienced total screwup. At this point I need to know what to do. I'm not spending all the time and credits to rebuild level 50 influence on all these companions if that's all going to be wasted again at some point in the future. I would also really, really like to know who is responsible for whoring out base game companions in the first place. They should have never been touched, in any way. Instead, the developers used them as a selling point, whoring them out, to try and build some kind of excitement for the pathetic cop out known as Knights of the Fallen Empire. Whoever made this decision needs to publicly apologize for his incredible failure. I just ask that we be given some idea of when this whole KotFE/KotET nightmare will end and we can finally get back to playing Star Wars again.
  20. Yes. Dailies terminal will activate and story will become unavailable. Everything is brought up to date once you start Ossus the same as if you had actually completed all prior content.
  21. This is just so sad. I'm by nature a single player RPGer, not a natural MMOer. And I've been a sub to SWtOR since 2012 only due to my fondness for KotOR 1 and 2 in general and the companion gameplay system those games perfected in particular. But now that system is completely, seemingly hopelessly, broken. Since 4.0 went live, the quality of this game has been in total freefall and nowhere is that freefall more noticeable than in the destruction of the companion system. Ranged companions are quite simply not usable. So there goes Vette, Blizz, Torian (who used to be melee-not anymore!), Mako, Doc, Elara, Ensign Temple, Kaliyo, Risha, Gault, etc. Nadia now no longer speaks during combat. As in, not at all. She is now completely mute. And so many companions are locked behind the absurd "Find A Findsman" mission, and the absolute explosion of the "Contacts and Companions" page that results from completing Findsman, that there are now many companions permanently unavailable to me since I don't want 12 open missions at the top of my summon companion page. So it's apparently goodbye forever to Qyzen, Pierce, Forex, Drellik, Bowdaar and many more. Who knows what damage they'll do to Zenith, Tharan, Scourge and Kira, assuming they are gracious enough to actually return those companions to us at some point, but it's certain to be extreme. My sub is up for renewal in 7 days and I'm going to take a pass this time. Trying to play this game right now is like driving your car with only 3 tires. You can get where you want to go, but it's bumpy as hell, not at all enjoyable and just not worth the effort. Better to find a car with 4 tires, even if it's not the model you would prefer. Hopefully, at some point in the future, Bioware will bring in some quality technicians for a change and fix the mess the current incompetents have created. But I'm not holding my breath.
  22. If you're level 70, start the Ossus storyline from the mission terminal on your starship. You get a free set of IR 236 gear and can start collecting 252's. If you're under 70, just buy green item mods from the vendors, supply section on fleet, and get to 70 however you want. Then head to Ossus.
