  1. I posted this here to see if anyone else was having a similar problem. (I am generally aware of how the internet works.) I mentioned that nothing else is affected just to underscore the fact that I don't think it's my connection. It's also been more than a day or two, and I've not heard any replies from customer support after filing my ticket a few hours after posting this. I don't really play other games, but since Battlefront II is free right now I am going to try that and see if I have a similar problem with that. Anyway, I've continued to try to play the game. As long as I am not engaging any enemies, my connection is fine. As soon as any of my toons get into battle, the signal drops out. It's the same for high-level enemies and start planet ones. It also happens across servers. This used to happen in the past, the signal dropping out I mean, but it would happen whether I was fighting or not. It also would often lag and then go back to normal, etc. With this problem, I engage some enemies and before I can take them out, the signal lags and I am sent to the server screen. It's very disappointing. I had hoped to try out the new content before my sub expired. Anyway, thanks to all who have replied trying to help.
  2. Not a new player, but not sure where else to stick this question. Up until last Friday or so, I've been able to play the game with zero technical glitches. Nothing changed, but all of a sudden, I lose connection when I am in the midst of missions/questions (specifically flashpoints, even more specifically the final stage of the Shadow of Revan prelude). I have reinstalled my Wifi driver, closed other programs, tried different networks (all based off of the same router though), and it still happens. I have no problems with internet connectivity in any other apps or on websites, including streaming 4K video. I thought maybe the update or patch or whatever today might have helped, but nope. I am at a loss as to what the problem could be. Thought I would check with the SWTOR hivemind (which WILL find a way) before submitting a ticket and being told to move closer to my router or whatever.
  3. Also having this problem. Long ago deleted Bit Raider folder and trying the compatibility thing. We'll see how it goes. Update: It worked. However, noticed the graphics being weird so switched it back to what it was. Update 2: Well putting the compatibility settings back brought the quickplay problem back.
  4. I have been around since almost launch. (I'd have been around for launch but I had to get a better computer to run the game, lol.) Anyway, I don't know how much of what I've read about allocation of resources w/r/t your team and Anthem and other BioWare decisions is correct or not. Whether it's all true, like Han Solo says, or none of it is true, I just want to say congratulations for continuing to deliver a wonderful product to us. Being a Star Wars fan usually means griping about everything 77% of the time. So, I wanted to be part of the contingent of fans that just says thanks for all of your hard work. I am really enjoying the story and the gameplay. I am just so happy that SWTOR is still going strong. I have dumped far more hours into this game than I ever want to know. And I am happy to have the excuse to keep doing it. Thanks so much to the devs and the rest of your team. I hope you have a great holiday break...AND THEN COME BACK AND FIX THIS BROKEN THING AND GIVE US NEW CLASS STORIES AND SICK LIGHTSABERS AND MAKE EWOKS A PLAYABLE SPECIES!!!!!
  5. I dunno what's going on with you, but Jedi Shadows can totally used electrostaffs. For example, Vector the companion uses an electrostaff and he used resolve armor/mods like Shadows. I have a Rey/Jedi Shadow toon right now with an electrostaff. Techstaff is the one no players can use.....
  6. Thanks for your hard work, and know that tensions are high here because this is an anticipated update. Myself, I just can't wait to fly around in my jetpack and stack items to 9,999. While those complaining about loss of early access time (especially in the EU) do have a legitimate gripe, know that most of us players don't think you're stupid or bad or jag-offs or whatever. Thanks for keeping us posted and don't let ragers get to you. Cheers.
  7. I did some of that too, but we weren't forced to. There are many, many ways to get gear and such to get through the game. I enjoyed crafting, I take it you did too. We were probably suckers for thinking that anything in an MMO is forever. If this makes you quit, well why were you even playing in the first place?
  8. Damn it. I didn't think of that. I had a nice jungle of Bioanalysis nodes going on in Tattooine.
  9. I doubt it's that all or nothing. I mean, it doesn't sound like the components for end-game gear are going to be easy or cheap to get. So, unless you dig crafting (and some of us do), the easiest way to get the gear is to raid. Just because it's not the primary focus doesn't mean it's getting "axed," and it seems like they are trying to make it so more players can do group content.
  10. Not all of us spend time on the forums, so I don't really know about that. Part of the reasons I avoid these forums? Because they are populated by lots of folks with bad attitudes that, in turn, give me a bad attitude.
  11. First of all, yes it is. I admit I maybe didn't read the TOS as closely as I should have, but my logic in this case is sound. And, because you were in such a rush to be judgmental, you misread that I bought a stack of 99, sold that to the vendor to see if I got the credits, bought that SAME stack back from said vendor, and destroyed the 49 chairs I didn't claim. Also just because the unlock limit is 50 doesn't mean there aren't legit reasons for buying more than that. You can sell them on the GTN, donate them to your guilds, etc. I can only wonder what happened in your life to make you so eager to see people "punished." EDIT: Correction, I think I unlocked the chairs first and then bought 99 and sold them back and then destroyed the whole 99. I honestly don't really remember because AT THE TIME (maybe an hour after servers went live) I didn't think it would be this big of a deal. Also I am already credit-rich, so I don't care about burning 99 credits.
  12. Well I was worried about myself since I bought a stack of 99 and then sold it back to see if they actually gave the credits. I then bought back those chairs and destroyed the ones I didn't bind to my legacy. I then submitted a bug report, all before the warning message was posted on the launcher. Since I did this maybe an hour or two after servers went up and still have not gotten any emails, I think that perhaps they are using common sense in determining who was exploiting and who was experimenting and leaving the latter accounts alone.... I mean if people were already getting suspended, I think my time would have come if it was coming at all. Other posters here made me really nervous I was getting banned from the game for good, because I didn't really understand what they meant by "ban." But it seems that I dodged this particular blaster bolt like special edition Han....
  13. It's the Temple Chair (Basic) purchased from the Extraan Exports (or something) vendor in the Cartel Market. If you've not bought any cartel packs and used the vendors there, then you should be okay. I did something stupid and sent a message to CS just in case (someone suggested that earlier), so you can do that to in order to be proactive, I guess. Good luck. We'll need it.
  14. I didn't know it was an exploit. I saw the price discrepancy, sold them back to make sure the credits were actually given. Bought the stuff back and destroyed it and then reported it. If it didn't actually give back the credits I wasn't going to waste my time or theirs reporting it. Believe it or not, I thought I was being a "good" member of the community. Doing it once and then sending a bug report is obviously not the same thing as buying hundreds or thousands of them and selling them back. Again, if this was the policy, I really feel cheated that it wasn't disseminated more widely. I rarely check/use these forums, because it's mostly threads about people ************ about BioWare.
  15. I am not suggesting they haven't, I am just saying that I rarely check these forums. I have never heard about an exploit until after it was fixed. Obviously they put the message on the launcher to reach as many people as they could and direct them here (how I found this thread). They should have done the same thing when that became the policy. I mean I get marketing e-mails all the time, I can't get an e-mail telling me this important policy in order to protect my investment of time and money into the game? Again, I did what I did because I thought I was being a "good" member of the community. I will be really bummed if I get punished for that.
  16. Well, I never read that thread. I didn't even know about the Ziost exploit until it was fixed. Just saying, if that's a policy they should have sent out an e-mail to subscribers so we'd know. If I had known that I would have just reported it and done nothing else.
  17. What? When the devs ever say trying an exploit to report it is bad? That's something that would have been useful to see. Also what is the Ravagers exploit? I literally have no idea what you're talking about.
  18. This was before the message was on the logon screen, like right after servers went back up. Again, I did it because I wanted to report it with accurate numbers, and figured I was being thorough. I have a LOT of credits, so I assumed it would be obvious I didn't do it for that. I wasn't even concerned about it until I read this thread.
  19. I did it once to see if it actually gave you the credits and then I submitted a bug report. Does this count as participating in the exploit?
  20. So, I am tentatively optimistic about the new direction the game is taking. I have concerns and questions about how it will marry up with pre-KotFE content, but story is what brought me to the game. I don't play MMOs as a rule, but this has me hooked. Anyway, since I would have easily pre-ordered the expansion today for 20 bucks, I bought $20 bucks worth of Cartel Coins. Anyone else do this or am I sucker?
  21. Nice that you laugh at people clearly upset. Again, it's not so much about the actual service being offline -- which is an inconvenience, but a livable one, yes -- but rather that our appeals for some kind of update have been ignored. What you say sounds plausible, yet (as evidenced by other replies) it's just well-written speculation. If that's actually the case, it would have taken seconds for the Devs to post such an update.
  22. Yeah, no Harbinger for me either.....
  23. Me too. Been readying a toon for weeks now. Finally ready to move him and GAHHHHHH!
