  1. I was hoping it would get corrected to pre-6.1 luminosity with patch 6.1a, but it did not. I have also noticed that the various cut scenes that take place near these overly lit banners are now causing graphics issues, which were not present previously, to occur for me too. Best way I could describe what I see is it seems the GPU is having issues rendering the extreme changes in lighting between the regular ambient light and these extremely lit banners, which is causing a stuttering and/or lag of sorts. I have been doing the KotFE and beyond lately on a few toons and these scenes are the only ones that I can think of where this is really happening. PC Specs, for reference, while running SWTOR...
  2. It's nice to see that my idea to open up discussions for how to improve the balance for GSF is keeping traction. I have seen a few suggestions and/or ideas on how to overall improve matchmaking, which is great. I do hope that the devs could revisit and better refine how matchmaking works. It is something that can actually be felt for both warzones and GSF, but I am really only focused on getting improvements for GSF. I still think that it would be great if there were more game modes, like the ground warzone 4v4, for GSF. If only there was a way to know whether or not devs, @EricMusco or @DanielSteed for example, could chime in as to whether or not this would be something they'd even consider revisiting or if we've just been aggravating each other because I asked another player to start this discussion.
  3. It would definitely be nice if there was something in place to handle players that only care about self destructing. Maybe something like 5 deaths in 30 seconds would remove the player from the match. Granted, I've been in death matches where the dominating team is camping the spawn points and just obliterating everyone shortly after spawning. Although, if the dominating team knows that they'll cause the match(es) to end prematurely due to everyone on the opposing team getting kicked, then maybe they wont camp the spawn points so much. Honestly, I don't know what a good solution would be for this, although I agree that it would be nice to have something in place to prevent those that only have the intention to self destruct to farm and/or throw the match(es).
  4. Being a programmer myself, although not for video games, it would have been possible to have different flags in place to keep GSF separate from the story line aspect, which would not have caused this "feature". Unfortunately, since this has more than likely been around since the release of Chapter 2 from KotFE, the likelihood of this ever being corrected and/or updated is fairly low. Possible solution for the devs... IF there is in fact a separate record for the main story line and one for the expansion(s), then an easy solution would be to mark both records as having been purchased at the time of purchase. Granted, I have no idea how the database architecture is structured, so am really just shooting in the dark. Sadly, based on the lack of replies and/or joining in the conversation in the GSF forums from any of the devs to anything GSF related, this will more than likely be swept under the rug with the remainder of GSF related bugs and/or suggestions.
  5. Sadly, I have completed all of the expansion story lines, including through Mek Sha, and these companions have not returned on either of my Consulars, Sage and Shadow. I had Nadia Grell, for example, return to both of my Consulars, yet she is not available in the hangar, although previously unlocked. I would think that if I use Fleet Requisition to acquire any companion, whether part of the class or non-class, then no matter what I do for the story line outside of GSF that the companion(s) would remain and that I would not need to acquire and spend additional Fleet Requisition to have what I already purchased. Either way, I still feel that this is a bug and it would be nice of the developers to correct the issue.
  6. I suspected as much; however, when I did a search I didn't find any results, possibly due to the search terms used.
  7. If you've done the main/original story line, unlocked associated class companions in the Crew of your hangar and start Knights of the Fallen Empire (KotFE) then you might need to pay for those Crew members again using Fleet Requisition. More info can be found in the bug report at http://www.swtor.com/community/showthread.php?p=9818989
  8. TL;DR: KotFE Chapter 2 causes at least some of the player's companions that were unlocked in GSF to become locked and require additional fleet req Full Details... I played quite a bit of Galactic Starfighter (GSF) while doing the original 3 chapters, to get a refresher since I had taken a break from SWTOR and had deleted all of my prior characters/toons upon returning. I did this (original 3 chapters, warzones and GSF) on a total of 16 new toons that were not level boosted. I have been unlocking all of the Crew in the GSF hangar for my toons prior to starting the Knights of the Fallen Empire (KotFE) story line, which some have now completed. When poking around last night in the GSF hangar, I noticed that some of my class companions from the original story, that I was certain I had used Fleet Requisition to acquire, were now greyed out. I then logged on to another toon, Sith Warrior, that I knew, without a doubt, had all of the Crew unlocked. I confirmed that all of the Crew were available, whether class companion or not, prior to starting KotFE. Once I finished the cutscene for Chapter 2: A Dream of Empire, I checked my hangar and sure enough some of the Crew, that were also class companions, were no longer available to select. Affected Crew that has the companion associated by class... Consular: Qyzen Fess (Offensive), Zenith (Offensive), Nadia Grell (Defensive), Lieutenant Iresso (Tactical), C2-N2 (Engineering), Tharan Cedrax (Engineering) Trooper: Aric Jorgan (Offensive), Tanno Vik (Defensive), Yuun (Engineering) Warrior: Broonmark (Defensive), Malavai Quinn (Tactical), 2V-R8 (Engineering), Vette (Engineering) https://imgur.com/a/YpDBKAi Both Consular and Trooper have a Crew member selected that is greyed out and appears to need to be purchased again using Fleet Requisition, even though they were all purchased previously.
  9. Optimusheath, hope you have a speedy recovery! I'm thinking about the time(s) that I've given you jawagrams on fleet and am sending you a mental [Reusable Jawagram: "May the Force be with You"].
  10. I would like to first start off by thanking myrrhbear for having copied my posts to the GSF forums, in my hope that matchmaking and match types could be better optimized. Please keep in mind that my suggestions are here for players to discuss, but my overall goal would be to have the devs implement. MATCHMAKING The matchmaking aspect for GSF could definitely be better optimized and I feel that Verain is on the right track. If the devs could use better metrics to better balance the matches then I think that would help quite a bit. There really are quite a few stats that not only could, but should, be used at a per toon level to match players together. (This actually carries over to warzones too) SCALING MATCHES I've already mentioned this, but here it is again, which I think could help with the queue times and keep the overall match times more in balanced, based on the number of players in the matches. I know that there has been various discussion about premade aspects. For me personally, I am not able to use voice chat when I game since I have a family that is typically sleeping when I game and will easily hear. As a side note, I am just relieved that I'm currently a subscriber and can now pass on relying on GSF as a leveling tool for all of my new toons. Ultimately, you cannot make players not do something as long as the game client allows it. I am hopeful that the devs might actually have read something in this thread and think it would do some good if they could do something to improve upon what they've done in the past.
