  1. I cannot progress this quest. Any help or workaround to get Ak'ghal Usar to show up in the quest nstance? Is this bug due to the fact that I have claimed Khem Val as a companion already?
  2. I had quite a few Galactic Season Rewards that are marked as Claimed when I have not claimed it. Is this a known bug?
  3. Wow .. I didn't even know this is possible. IF you are out on the field and need a loadout switch, this is not always possible if you have not dump at least 2 million credits to unlock the field legacy bank. So is SWTOR moving towards Pay-to-Win model where richer player will have an advantage over poor player? Instead of using legacy bank, why not implement collection instead? Put these gears set into collection and If you unlock them, you can either transfer a copy to your inventory and delete when you don't need them. The collection mechanism is already implemented and need no further code changes saved for putting in non-cartel gear set into the collection. The collection method is not an implementation issue since it does not involve code change. It is a design decision. Basically having to decide whether to expand the collection to hold non-cartel item set.
  4. With 7.0 loadouts, it is possible that we can play healer, tank and dps all in one char. Each role requires its own set of gear (15 pieces for each role). Plus now we have separate PvP gear set. So in total we are looking at minimally 4 x 15 = 60 inventory slots to store these different gears. Atm, we have a cap of max 80 inventory slots, that leaves us with just 20 slots for other items. So what is the plan and roadmap for increasing the inventory slots? Or is there no plan and roadmap at all? I am very sure the dev has thought of this inventory slot shortage issue when they introduce loadouts. Can they share their thought on this? Need some clarity on this.
  5. Don't think too much. It is the Star Wars genre that is keeping the players in sub. There is now virtually no competition in Star Wars MMO market. Player have no choice if they want to play Star Wars genre MMO. It is not the case that they want to stick around with a sub-par buggy game. Don't be mistaken. I kinda of disagree that some cosmetic thingy like can't hide helmet that is not game breaking is not important. Many of these cosmetic items are paid for with cartel coin. Player buy them with the expectation and the promise that it will be delivered to the right quality without bugs. This is a legal contract of sale. If you cannot honor the contract, at least refund the cartel coin and then re-sell your item AFTER you fixed them.
  6. You have not played enough MMOs to know that this is not the case. I am not saying which MMO is doing a superb job least you abandon this game and go play the other game. But it exists because I am playing both now. Don't get me wrong, I luv SWTOR and I will keep playing but factually I am sharing with you that the quality difference and how the game dev respond to bugs (in terms of time-to-fix and urgency) is heaven-and-hell difference.
  7. I don't think we are interested in competing for which game is NOT the worst MMO in history where being 2nd most worst is like a victory and a crowning glory. Don't go down the route of "at least" into the pit of mediocre.
  8. At current, we are only faced with the choice of either be a sub or quit sub and drop to preferred status. Is there a possibility of a new additional sub model to cater to those players who have change of real life commitment and not able to play as frequently. To remain sub and not able to play frequently would be a waste of money and the logical choice would be to quit sub and dropped to preferred status (which is actually not the preferred option for many of us faced with little time to play. We still want to remain sub if only it is more friendly to infrequent player.) I was thinking along the line of charge by time played model. We still be paying $15 for a sub but now instead of calendar time countdown, it will instead countdown based on time played. Or a countdown method based on a combination of calendar time and time played (For example, even if you don't play for that entire day, the sub expire 12 hours off per day as compared to expiring 24 hours off per day for current traditional sub model. IF we play, then it is hour played plus default 12 hours expired off per day under this infrequent-player-friendly model.). In other words, even if we don't totally play at all, this sub will expire in 2 months instead of 1 month for current sub model. If we play, then our sub time will be deducted according to how much we play. The expiry time will be somewhere between 1 and 2 months depending on how much we play. This way, our sub fee is stretched further to give better value for money for infrequently play. To make sure that the current traditional sub model are not cannibalized, I don't mind paying $20 per month for the choice of an infrequent-player-friendly model, $5 extra more than current traditional sub model so that active player who have plenty of time to play will still choose the traditional sub model. I believe it serves BW interest better if more of us can still remain sub than be 'forced' to drop to preferred status. This will retain BW market share and more easily get these players back on regular sub in future (due to new content or them having more time on hand to play) since in theory, these players never left sub but has been on sub which is more friendly to these infrequent players.
  9. I have a previous issue similar to yours. I was able to play SWTOR without any issue until one day the launcher download a patch. After the patch is installed by the launcher, I cannot connect to the server. I spent a lot of time troubleshooting it and this is my findings and solution. Previously, when I first play SWTOR, windows firewall ask whether I allow SWTOR to connect to outside world. I clicked yes. This created an entry inside the windows firewall "Allow to connect" white list. (this is where the issue lies). My solution is to go to the "Able to connect" white list and DELETE the SWTOR entry form the white list. Logic tells you can that is counter-intuitive but it works for me. After this entry is deleted, I am able to connect without failure to swtor server and I have no such issue since then. Don't worry about deleting this entry because the windows firewall will ask you again whether you want to allow SWTOR to connect to outside world. Then you clicked yes again to create a new entry in the white list. Even if there is no entry created in the white list, it is still no problem since you can connect to the server and play your game. Hope this helps you in your troubleshooting.
  10. Oh yes, and not forgetting farming crew skill too. Farming will also complement cooking by producing ingredients for the food. Imagine if we have a room/lab within our personal starship where we can grow aquaponics and/or aeroponics vegetables and cultured meat from stem cell growth. Farming can also grow some of the herbs for biochem. That would be awesome.
  11. Will the lack of feedback message (on the type and quantity of resources) be fixed for gathering resource in this patch or in due course otherwise? At the moment, there is no 'kick' in gathering resources as it feel like everything goes into an empty black hole without any feedback message on what is and how much is gathered.
  12. Yes please. I love cooking skill. How I wish every character has a hunger level which will increase over time. At various hunger level, the stat will be diminished by a set fraction which make the char perform sub-par (because of hunger). And the way to keep hunger level down is to consume food which can be crafted/cooked. This may not be appealing to people who don't like micro-management or non-combat play. However, they can always buy food off GTN and not be bothered with this aspect of non-combat play. For those player who are into this sort of non-combat play and like micro-management, it would offer a new arena of refreshing play such as going around different places to gather different ingredients. So I support this idea. Another similar idea is crew skill at refining such as refining fuel. Same concept as hunger level, every personal spaceship has a fuel level which get depleted from traveling distances (so instead of spending credit as it is currently, you spent fuel instead). So you need to top up the fuel tank for your ship. Refining fuel crew skill will "refine" fuel out of raw resources (which also can be gathered) and can sell such fuel on GTN for convenience of those player who are not interested in such micro-management place.
  13. I can think of a few scenarios in order of likelihood: (1) Disney buy over BW from EA and redo SWTOR entirely (basically a case of Disney see more potential in SWTOR than EA and feel they can do better). (2) Disney discontinue the licensing agreement and award it to another game developer. Probably for this case, you should be seeing from now till 2023 Disney inviting other game developers for their proposal to create another SW MMO which I believe there will be keen and interested game studios out there if not a new studio will spring up from crowdfunding or traditional investment just to create the next gen SW MMO. (3) Disney discontinue the licensing agreement and set up a new company to create the next gen SW MMO. Disney has a long term view in terms of its investment and they can see how big a revenue MMO market is and they probably will be eyeing the one billion dollar revenue over 10 years (as revealed by EA themselves) at the worst case and the potential of earning 10 times that amount (i.e. one billion dollar revenue per year). (4) License not renewed because they cannot agree on the pricing --> SWTOR get shutdown forever. End of the era of Star Wars MMO. At any rate, I doubt SW MMO will be a staple in EA portfolio given the slowing momentum you see with regards to SWTOR atm. EA is showing sign of preparing for soft landing exit of SWTOR in the next few years possibly not wanting to pay the premium price for continuing the license with Disney. You should also be seeing more contenders talking to Disney on securing the SW licensing to create the next SW MMO (look at how much money Star Citizen manage to get through their crowdfunding and anyone with an idea of space-theme MMO will know what extra premium SW lore carries over and above what Star Citizen can secure).
  14. I tend to agree that a lot of content in the latest DLC (I refuse to recognize this as an expansion by the standard of other MMOs's expansion new content) are rushed. Just look at the trailer alone will tell you what rush means. When the trailers put together by other you-tubers looks more compelling than the official one, something is telling.
  15. Am I right to say GSF is a much underplayed content in the game given its awfully long queue time (which I assume is due to a lack of interested players rather than over-queued situation)? It is such a shame to see the effort gone to waste. So can I suggest BW to remodel GSF to include a solo-version whereby we can go in solo and fight 8 NPC fighters with our other 7 chosen companions (best if we can configure the ability of the fighters which our companions pilot). Don't get me wrong, I am not suggesting to remove the group-version of GSF but only suggest to complement it with a solo-version. The group-version should remain as it is and can serve as a control data to evaluate which version (solo vs group) get played more. If you leave the group-version of GSF as it is now. It is almost as good as dead. Give it a solo-version and see if it can be revitalized. This will give some insight into what really turn player off with respect to certain game content and why it is not played as much as the dev wanted it to. Give it a chance and pull it out of the graveyard.
  16. Sound to me that you have a graphic issue here. Try this, at the char selection screen, lower all your graphics settings to the minimum possible. Try to play with this minimum setting and see if it crash. If it is stable, then I tell you next step. BTW, also disable all anti-virus for the moment of testing.
  17. It really depends how you communicate. If you come across as rude, belittling others, crude, toxic, ill-mannered, self-assuming with a big ego and self-entitlement attitude to go with, then nobody will bother to communicate with you. It took both hand to clap. If one hand is intend on slapping others, the other hand will not join you.
  18. The emperor/empress and all the Darth Lords know that you are the traitor and spy. They just playing along and using you to eliminate their dark council rivals. You are part of their invisible "Hand". The Darth Lords brought their political game play to a notch higher than the emperor/empress whose "Hand" are open for all to see. Every Darth Lords have their own hidden invisible "Hand" doing their bidding and you just happen to conveniently fit in as one of their invisible armies without you or the emperor/empress even noticing. That is the nature of the dark side and how they play their game.
  19. Certainly sucks. There is another problem. The nerf seem to not have an equal effect on different character class. On some class (like Jedi knight), I can solo the new planets' heroic 2+ without a problem. Don't feel really much difference even with a nerfed healing comp. However on some other character class, I cannot even survived trash mobs fight. I wiped repeatedly on FIRST group of trash mob at the entrance. I gave up in the end. And for that, I gave up doing all heroic 2+ on the new planets (Even if some of my other character class can solo it). Grouping up for those heroic 2+ you say? Well, try to spam chat and LFG and waste your next hour doing nothing but typing in chat with occasional response threatening to report you for spamming the chat repeatedly. So much for forced group play with no supporting group finder which as a result encourage you to spam the chat to the annoyance of other players.
  20. An alternative idea would be to store overflow rep point into escrow (just like preferred/f2p credit escrow). At the end of each week, if a player did not managed to cap his/her weekly rep cap, then the point stored in the escrow will automatically to used to top up a players remaining rep to weekly cap limit. This way, all rep point earned will not be lost but somehow used when player are not free to play that week to farm rep point. Rep point is a form of currency to speak. It is also hard-earned point just like credit. We have the concept of credit escrow to save overflown credit so that it will not go to waste so the same concept should and can be applied to rep point.
  21. Or alternatively converted it to companion influence. If it is not possible for player to choose companion to award to, then default it to Jakarro (for Onderon rep) or Kira/Scourge (for Mek-Sha rep). Something like how LT Pierce (Imp side) and M1-4X (Pub side) are automatically awarded companion influence at the completion of every PvP match.
  22. I am not BW internal staff and I don't have the number of players sub to form a meaningful and informed discussion on it. But judging from the number of servers (vs the number in other MMOs), I tend to form an opinion that it is not very large player base. I may be wrong. Assuming that I am right to say that the player base is not very large, one player gone is one player lost too many. I agree with you that the number will tell and that is all that is important. Kind of pointless for us to debate who is right or wrong but I only debate to share my viewpoint and not necessarily to win any side over. The decision and implementation has been made, we will wait and see the number down the road. It will be painful if we have to go on a back and forth going back to old ways on seeing bad number and in the process unnecessarily losing more player numbers. There are better and safer approach to the same end though it may take longer which I don't know whether EA/BW has luxury of time to wait out that long.
  23. This is exactly our disagreement if you have still not realized that it is not on the matter but only on the approach. For me at least, now the FP become lesser "attractive" to a more solo-minded player like me, I will not play or play less than before. I am not disagreeing that solo players till have a lot of space to play in-game but that space has now been squeezed to give to more group-focused play which for a traditional MMO is the focus which you feel is the right track to get back on (which I said I am not disagreeing but only disagree on how that should be brought about). Instead of expanding the pie for everyone (for example implementing a new Super Master Mode), you take away some of the pie from one segment of player (which have been supporting you all these years) to give to another.
  24. To all those highly competent and skilled players who feel that it is their obligation to see to it those weaker players how to play their classes and FP, I sincerely hope you will continue to stick around to guide and teach those weaker players within the FP despite multiple wipes and not to abandon it half-way to find a better group leaving the weaker players clueless still. I have witnessed in recent days many level 75 players abandon group on first wipe on trash mobs. Talk about teaching weaker players how to play. Surprisingly, in one of these after the level 75 player abandoned group on us, one of the lowbies ask me what to do next. I told him we will proceed with 3 players plus one nerfed healing comp. And with that, we cleared the entire FP within a single wipe even on boss fight (the latest Corellia FP). I don't know why but it happened. So is it the case that the lowbies don't know how to play or is it the nerfed healing comp suddenly bugged out and become OP again? I don't know.
  25. We both agree that this is a risky approach (in the other thread). At this point of time, taking such risk is to me at least a bit unnecessary. If you still have 10 servers of players to play with, any failure may result in 5 servers being cut and you still have 5 servers to fight your next battle. Now you are down to just 2 servers, failure will result in just one server left and if one more failure will result in the game shutdown. To secure and hold on to the player base is to me more important than to attract new player (which remain an unknown). While game need to evolve to attract new player, or retain returning players, it should not push away existing players not at least with the current status of SWTOR unless BW is intending to do a last stand now with its game either to win big or to just shut down.
