  1. Okay Star Wars isnt just for children. If it was then Rian made TLJ specifically to brainwash/indoctrinate/educate kids into accepting the Feminist religion which is just as sick as doing it with any other religion. The marketing for these movies (not directed at children at all) I think caused the most outrage. I wasnt a fan of TFA. I was hoping Rey and Ben were twins, I didnt think it was that bad. ROS was cool I only saw the Chinese cut. As anything that goes against Atheism most force ghosts were blurred except for that scene that makes me wish Daisy would do a Disney + show with the force ghost of Luke (maybe appearances from Yoda and Qui gon) with her creating the Jedi Order and falling in love with a redheaded smuggler named Mara Emerald.... TLJ was bantha poodoo.. What makes me angry is Disney made it bad or tried to use it as a social engineering tool on purpose to keep Lucas on. Because everything Star Wars not this trilogy is really good and solid. The Comics and books explaining some of this which is canon actually made me more understanding of the movies. Without ancillary things the new trilogy isnt all that understandable for people not nerds and not into the comics and books.
  2. Incorrect. Licensed products are also considered canon. All Marvel Comics Del Rey (penguin house too) and EA titles made after the Disney Acquisition are canon. They released a Count Dooku audio drama that is the cannon on his Jedi training, how he became a Count ultimately leaving the Jedi Order. Dooku was one of Yoda's apprentices and Master to Qui Gon. Dooku's former apprentice got him interested in prophecies as Dooku was interested in them early on. Dooku was also friends and a Crech mate of Siphodias. Who he manipulated into making the clone army. The first Jedi to come into contact with the Sith is Dooku. As part of his plan to create the Galactic Empire. Thats all Disney Canon not part of the movies. The people saying Disney is making a mockery of Star Wars also probably was only into the movies and not the extended canon which really didnt take off until the early 90's. A lot of "Star Wars Fans" especially in the Fandom Menace seemed to be ignorant of Lucas Canon outside of the movies. Some just now playing KOTOR for the first time. While the sequel trilogy was in part Disney intentionally making it bad as solo and rogue one was better movies. TGA was JJ harnessing his copy paste style of reboot. TLJ was Rian being mad JJ's gf also Rian's wife was mad at JJ. And RoS was edited to fix some outrage. (Although I would like to see the JJ cut) i think that was more to say we do comics, cartoons, tv shows right maybe the trilogy movie format is something we cant do. (Disney has said something like that recently) Lucas said it was never bound by that format. I think the sequel trilogy was Darth Mickey getting Lucas to consult on it thus making Lucas an employee. Darth Mickey wanted Lucas. Now hes on the set of the Mandalorian consulting and training Faverau. 2020 the comics are going to cover Empire. They already made stuff fleshing out Rey's character as far as comics and shorts before TFA which has endeared myself to the character. Hopefully they do more rey comics minus the Feminist SJW ideology Rian injected into it. I deny TFA beyond marketing had that. I also deny Rey was a Mary Sue. As untrained force users could do simple stuff like call a lightsaber. And her growing up on Jakku scavenging huge crumbling capital ships more than likely she has used her innate force connection to save herself more than once. Every force user after the great purge had to teach themselves control and suppression of powers as the inquitors were hunting them all down. I think the anger was more towards the marketing itself. I think the ideology seen isnt exactly there. But when the marketing and insane hateful people that would rival the sith tried to make it seem like it was woke. Thats where the anger came from. That and they were probably only into the movies not really the EU. As both sides bash legends unless it suits them. Especially when you try to communicate a lot of legends concepts about the force is making it into Disney with the complexity of the force being dumbed down because stupid ppl look down at star wars as something made for kids and not something made for all ages.
  3. All licensed products are canon. They made a bunch of prequel books. There is a count dooku audiobook that is very nicely done and is mostly about Dooku's life as a Jedi. So you maybe right. However with Solo and the sequel trilogy changing hyperspace canon in the way that it did. It maybe better to start with the Great Hyperspace War. Already in the new canon (Disney has been focused since 2015 on fleshing out the after and between New Hope and Empire in the comics, novels, and battlefront I and II covers empire and prequel era. The main campaign for battlefron II which I think is good is focused on Return of the Jedi so far. Iden Versio's backstory covers from Rogue One to sequel period. Early days of the Empire for Video Games and also Comics. Jedi Fallen Order is supported by the Vader Comics all part of Disney Canon Timeline. The 2020 comics time period is just before and during Empire Strikes Back. They are planning on adding Reven to canon since he was supposedly in ROS (Ive only seen the China cut so far. The only force ghost not completely blurred was a luke skywalker scene. ) its a shame Daisy Ridley forsook her character because she didnt want to go with the future Disney + episodic content that can release a story over a longer period of time and redeem her halfassed written but very well acted chatacter. I would have liked to see a Disney + show with Rey on Dagobah or something and Luke's Force Ghost giving her actual training with a cameo appearance of Yoda and Qui Gon giving advice. Maybe even having Ian from shameless make an appearance with his Jedi character also helping rebuild the Jedi Order. This Star Wars Universe building is going strong in 2020. Maybe we will start seeing more old republic comics, novels or video games. As there was a stink about Revan being made canon.
  4. The Story Missions basically tells the story of whats going on in the universe. I would actually say that more about FP's and group content as that content gives the most xp and usually drops the best loot only if you grind it.. It would be cool after you complete a storyline you can replay it at a higher difficulty. It would mean making new instances. And raising the cap in those instances. Like DK Heroic and Veteran levels would be capped at (50) and (75). I would like to see a redone heroic and veteran Balmoraa and Quesh that focuses on open world PVP. Make the war on those planets actual warzones. There are a lot of options to this idea that would add both group and solo support. Maybe retool Heroic and Veteran story missions to be more group friendly. Make pvp side missions just for those instances. Tatooine is my favorite planet due to the pvp aspect of it. I cant remember the other open world pvp planets off the top of my head. But a heroic and veteran instance of each may also help with long term ganking issues. Mixed with the story missions being more group friendly that would increase replayability for end game players.
  5. I am not expecting part 2 until the double xp weekend starts. Or when the test server starts its initial testing.
  6. I did not mean you personally was requesting something. There are many who is and I think those that are have an unrealistic view. The point of my rant was not directed solely at you. But those bashing the expansion for not having any class storyline tieins. Or pve when the last two development cycles have been focused solely on pve with little work to pvp. I mean there was some changes to how pvp worked, but nothing super major. Working solely on pvp is pretty smart. I know it seems like a slap in the face. But think about it. What would be more of a slap in the face saying here is the long term goal that this is the first step we feel is best without destabalizing the game as it is. (Which is what they did) or giving us that system and then making the entire game unplayable basically for a few months. Not that much of a slap in the face when you think about it. Sure it may take a year or two before this is translated into the game. But by then the basic bugs with collision detection, player skills, movement of the ship etc will be done. Hopefully after the space wz system is done they start putting the ground work into the engine that will allow it to be experienced game wide. As to the comment where a coop class quest would require some hardware that doesn't exist ye(not by the guy i just replied to.)..well I disagree. It wouldn't take that to add in a few extra responses by other classes for the existing classes. Nor would it require that to add three to four more quest instances to a planet. Nor would it be like wow where you would have different people grinding rep to get into. It would have to be something a group has to start and like all the other class quests not sharable. While this does nothing for the people that solo, this would be more geared to people who group with the same people. Or can group with the same people. A coop storyline would be the same except it would be more geared to players in a guild th an players that are not.
  7. I'm a sw fan and I refuse to play the class quests. I did the bh story and it was fun. But what turned me off the class quests was that there was no option for a coop story. I don't see why I should spend time playing through something that is designed for single player in an mmo. I would prefer it if there was a collective storyline for both factions I can play witb others without being a spectator. Or redoing something I helped a guild mate of the same class with. I get that it took a long time to do. But if they extend the class quests it should at least have a coop like the rest of the game is. As for dogfighting pvp I find it more fun to play against another player than an ai. But that is just me. Especially in mmos because the ai has to be simple and non learning. Otherwise the client would lag with the volume of bandwidth between communication between server and client. The difficulty of trying to beat another player or trying to anticipate what they are going to do is what makes it fun for me. The universe is called star wars. The story is at the core light vs dark. Republic versus empire. What point is having the player factions if you only fight npcs that do the same thing over and over again? It is challenging, but at the same time I wish I had a class mission that had to go after random republic players. Class missions are not what makes this game fun for me. It is playing with other people. Gaining social points, and doing wz's with guildmates make this game fun for me. Not doing something that forces you to do it alone. In an mmo forcing the story to only progress through npcs is a folly. Without the players feeling like they are doing something as a whole to further the story. Which is what This next expansion does. It adds not only a mechanic that could be added to the world engine one day. Realistically changing the whole engines space system would introduce way more bugs than putting it in the wz format would. It would break the game or it would not meet to players standards. I would rather them perfect how the System works with players live. All the bugs with the mechanic as close to perfect as possible. how the server interacts with the client. How the ui interfaces with the mechanic. How skills work, how a players stats and skills interacts, collision detection on not just the players ships but the weapon discharge detection. I see so many posts on the forums bashing the engine already, one they are trying to improve on qnd make this game more enjoyable for everyone. Adding pve to this untested system would be a folly. Because on top of the sheer amount of work it will take to even get the mechanic to work. I mean seriously, does anyone that complains about no pve actually the amount of math involved for freeform flight alone? Then add in advanced physics formulas. Not all of this can be copy and pasted from a library of code. I mean seriously two objects of basically the same mass moving at different speeds both fire a projectile or laser which one hits first. Can anyone complaining about no pve give a perfect correct for this? Without using google? (Hint you would have to use multiple variables. It also has to be a formula that could work with any number of speeds, directions, and angles.) Xyz programming is very hard. Most companies have one team solely dedicated to making and proofing formulas and simulating code before it is implemented. What I just labled is the collision detection. Tthat doesn't put into account the entire new physics system that free form flight would require. Here is a major game design principal when dealing with highly complicated maths. Keep It Simple Stupid. Pve would make the system more complicated and it would take away from the time the devs need from perfecting this new system they are planning on making space. (It has been inferred that is the direction they are planning to take this). In fact I would be happy if the only new playable ccontnt being the GS wzs with all the updaytes dedicated to engine improvements and laying the groundwork for this new content to be expanded to include an open space world. Sadly however in our society just because we pay for something we feel we have the right to make unreasonable and unrealistic demands. Which EA being a company that wants to make money. *gasp they are not a not for profit organization.* The more complaining and profit loss they notice. The more pressure they put on the development team to fix it. Which leads to substandard work. Keep this in mind before you complain.
  8. Im tired of editing my last post I am posting on my phone. I apologize for grammar issues and typos
  9. I do not get any of these problems. The inability to implement higher than that 16 wzs and ops could be a hardware issue not an issue with swtors heavily modified hero based engine. Which I am saying that they could do iI. However, it may not be specifically a coding problem that is keeping a feature like this from happening. The truth is anything claiming any specific problem to be the fault, not an employee of bioware is pure speculation. How do you know they are not working on doing this? How do you know that they haven't been trickling updates not listed that helps with this? Or server specific updates they don't have to iinclde in the patch notes. That is all assuming it is the server that is at fault not the individual client software. Again unless you have decompiled the client and have converted the assembly language packaged. You don't actually know that the engine is at fault. A majority of the lag I experience in this game is hardware based specific to my settings. On my desktop when playing in windows I do get problems with decreased fps in large groups unless I play in window mode smaller than my resolution. The point is the problems I have experienced that sound similar to those stated on the forums I have fixed by tweaking settings on my machine. The laptop I primarily run swtor on gets similar fps issues if I have the graphics set on hhigheror lower than medium. When I run the client through wine on my desktop I get no fps reduction. Which is funny because linux isn't a supported os by the devs. Yet it works better than windows on that computer. As far as the engines issues with higher end syatems. Does yours use bios or the new one? Uefi or whatever. The bios that blocks every other os to directly communicate with the hardware unless it is windows 8. There are performance issues with the new kind of bios. I could explain why, but I am too lazy. Try messing with your os graphics settings and the clients graphics settings. Your newest driver may include ssomething the client doesn't support yet. Hardware always increases faster than software coding capabilities. Xbox, playstation 2, playstation 3, xbox 360 all have exaples of this. It take a few uears to reach the full capabilities of the console. Sometimes the full capabilities are not utilized during that consoles development life span. This is also true of pc's in 2013. Also you have to be aware that the game client isn't specific to solely windows. It is also being developed for the mac which works with the hardware differently than windows. The whole point of my rant is this. swtor's live engine is a good engine. I have not had problems I could not fix by reconfiguring certain aspects. Including adding in my drivers setting console specfic settings to be used with that game. The major graphics card companies do include some type of control panel allowing for certain 3d settings features to be used or not used. Your graphics card may be tryibg to apply a shader type or something that the developers haven't had time to implement. Or one too advanced that would make the game completely unplayable on the older systems that can play it now. I dont have consistant fps problems that could not be fixed through doing everything you could do in this rant. If it is very enjoyable and works for me with little to no problems that I could not immediately fix on my own. @mmjaric (idc if I misspelt your name) I don't pve or go to many planets. I tweaked my os/client settings to maximize fps and reduce graphics lag in wzs. It is unacceptible in 2013 to have end users that do not do this for each game they play to maximize performance and playability. If you did all these things and still have problems. It may be the engine, or maybe your isp came out with a new speed and started maoing your down/upload banwidth slower than what you pay for to get you to upgrade. Or it could just like me better than you.
  10. What's wrong with the engine? The graphics are good, game mechanics are not broken. The engine itself is solid. I dont have many problems with this game . The main computer I play on is a laptop with 128mb of ram I don't have a problem with lag on that conpiter during graphic intensive content like wz, space combat or with anything you do in the game. My desktop which has a 64mb on board video card. I do have issues playing this game on that computer. However, I do not think bioware should do a massive overhaul so my computer that shouldn't be able to run the game can play it with no problems like the laptop. Actually I have an awesome desktop. I fried my video card on another mmo, I would also like to note that on my ubuntu linux install I don't have any problems with that computer. The only thing I think they should do to the engine is make a linux client. I don't see that happening and the easist and best ways to solve the little issues I have is to either upgrade my video card or plaay on my linux install. As time goes on I believe this engine will get better. As the continued development has shown so far. This game is still in its infant stages. Two almost three development cycles there isn't a mmo engine that doesn't have problems at this stage. Despite all the complaining about this engine, I think it is a good one without any real major problems that can't be fixed with end user hardware upgrades. No mmo is ever perfect at year two. Keep calm and wait. You will be glad you did.
  11. Wait I thought CZ-198 and Oricon was apart of The Rise of the Hutt Cartel expansion..considering that this past year has been developing the rise of the hutt cartel expansion. I am agreeing with you for the most part. However, I felt your post was in error because you failed to mention they were part of the current development cycle (Rise of The Hutt Cartel) Just like all the updates that happen starting next month with the Galactic Starfighter expansion pre-release. They will all be a part of the Galactic Starfighter Expansion. So all next year anything added will be a part of the Galactic Starfighter expansion. I am not disagreeing with you, just pointing out an error. As for saying Galactic Starfighter is not an expansion...well obvious troll is obvious. It seems like Bioware has decided to call development cycles expansions. Everything that happens between December 3rd, 2013 and December 3rd, 2014.. Will be in support of that expansion...I believe my point was made. With Rise of The Hutt Cartel pretty much complete, I am excited for 2014 as far as playing SWTOR,,,I may pay for a yearly subscription or at least be a sub for 90% of this year, With Rise of the Hutt Cartel not really giving me a reason beyond wz access that is easily paid for on the GTN, to sub Galactic Starfigther gives me more reason to sub. So hears to another year of SWTOR, new pvp options, with the start of season one more ways the storyline can evolve with the players evolving the story not npc's. How would pvp expand the story..well..umm..EVE Online...Different game concept universe etc. But it is a pretty successful game. What makes it successful is not the npc storyline, (there is none) but the fact the actions of the players evolve the storyline. Something that Bioware can emulate. Considering a majority of their games come with ways for the community to expand and add to the world. This is what has made Bioware's games last and very playable for a long time is this fact. Look at the DA and NWN communities. NWN is a very old game that people still play and add to the game. So it is inevitable that the community of SWTOR has some way in helping the story of the entire galaxy continue. I am sticking to my suggestion and belief that something like ST:O's Forge system that allows for player created events to be played. It will help keep the pvers and pvpers happy. As the development team can focus on expanding the game adding a new mechanic and eventually finding a way to implement it into the "world". Adding new content and aspects how they wish. The PvErs stay happy because there can be constant new pve stuff based in this system with the devs not having to waste the time with testing the scripting etc. Have an in-game editor not allow for a server upload when a script has errors, causing the player creating the content to debug the script and do it again. Then they can see how difficult this actually is. The end result will probably have to be like a biweekly purge or an approval based system. Where at the end of an allotted time period if the content is not approved by the devs, is deleted to keep the extra server load/bugs to a minimum. This should also cut the complaining by that base that they feel like the redheaded stepchild when the past year has been devoted to pve.... (some people like to complain like the crazy dude that wants to "play the game how it was meant to be played." Complain about anything. When the simple solution is not an added feature that allows you to decline the event. When there is already something in place for that..it is called f2p/preferred.) This game for an mmo is in the early stages. Compared to most single player games it is old, but mmo's really don't start working very well until after several years. This past year has been amazing, I am keeping an open mind about this year. Worst case scenario is that the new space pvp allows me to fight in a starfighter in space against other players. Which I would be completely happy with, others would not be..Which is why I am trying to give positive feedback and giving ideas that could be useful in keeping the whiners from affecting this game in a negative way.
  12. This got me thinking to the saving graces of ST:O. I like Star Wars, but I am also a Trekkie. I am not ashamed of being a Trekkie. I am ashamed of ever playing that game. The only real saving grace of that game was two things. Space PVP and they had when I played an online content generator. Then I thought about the many Bioware games I still enjoy..One in particular is NWN..It is a game I still play and has limitless possibilities. Over the years the scripting language and syntax of Bioware Toolsets have become recognizable by many who may play this game. While the scripting language and how they implement it may or may not be drastically different. So there is no doubt Bioware has the capability of introducting something like this at least on the public test server... Why should Bioware put all this time and effort into something like this? Very simply, some players want space based pve. Bioware should develop pvp for this style first. But to keep the players happy and to not overload the developers. One of the solutions I thought of is let the players that want the pve for the new GS system should be the ones to do it. They should be the ones doing the scripting and everything for it..Here is what I thought to fix the obvious problem. Make each of these player created things be considered an operation. That require a group of 16 people..or have the ability to make it a 8v8 pvp operation.. Try it on the public test server see how it does. You could even do a contest or an event that displays on the public server every player made content . It would be better to have an offline scripting checker that checks for syntax errors and compile errors...to reduce bugs introduced by this feature. Or have an offline, program and have them e-mail a completed mission to Bioware, to reduce security vulnerabilities. It is something to consider and after reading these posts and seeing what those that can't post on the forums and in-game. This may be something to toss around.. If anything else it is another weekly pass/sub thing which may cause less people to ragequit. PVPers are really happy..PvErs are happy enough not to flood the forums enough for EA to add more work to the developers work load. Win/WIn
  13. Like ROTHC was a slap in the face for pvpers. Not an ignorant post, just one done by someone that doesn't hold pve on such a high pedistal. The pvp aspect is more fun to me than the pve aspect. An entire expansion dedicated to something I have been waiting for since launch. Epic space battles against other players. Hopefully they can extend this so a faction can take a planet. Hopefully they expand the world pvp by one day placing it within the currwnt non existing space content. As for making an entire new engine to do this. I don't think they would have to. Bioware is a company that develops very good engines. Take the aurora engine series for example. (NWN1 and The Witcher both used a verison of the aurora engine. Both engines were awesome and the toolsets were very easy to use.) Bioware is good at making engines. Gameplay wise there hasn't been a pc game bioware has made that I didn't like. I refuse to play me2 or 3. Solely because the story has been ruined for me from everyone telling me the ending. This game is really good and it has come a long way. It has longer to go still, but I have no doubt bioware will continue to do a good job. Hopefully this years development cycle will open the doors for the player base to extend the story beyond what the npc driven lines are. I am just going to sit back and enjoy the ride. With the hopes that one day the evil, corrupt, and greedy republic senate gets what they deserve.
  14. Oh noes no pve...even though the last expansion really was primarily pve based. With a couple of minor changes pvp wise. Last expansion was all pve. New planets, new fps, new ops. The people that play for pvp got a new type of warzone. Yea yall have something to complain about with GS. Complain all you want to, but now all you people complaining about it know how those that enjoy pvp felt when they released rothc Also I am having doubts that GS is going to be something they will be charging for. Considering f2p will have access on the release date. Also I don't think joystick support initially would be a bad idea. It will add bugs and if you whiners ever want pve with GS, you would probably get it after they worked out the bugs with the pvp system. However there is always that big possibility that joystick support would take more time for pve to happen. Due to the bugs and small tweaks that wouldn't give people that use a keyboard and mouse more of an advantage. Which initially would probably happen.
  15. Woah..wait...here is what I don't get. You complain you don't get any pve, or they "add something to the story." They're adding to pvp somehting sorely needed. Plus I think all of you whining about this expansion not having pve in it, would whine like crazy when scripts are bugged. Or the free form space combat system is not to your liking. I think this is a good idea, because I am not short sighted. I would rather them take their time with the story as far as a free form pve experience. I would like to enjoy it..So they should take time to figure out what they want to do...At the same time they should iron out as many bugs as possible in the starfighter combat system before adding any content to it. Why? Because a PVE experience would create more bugs than a pvp experience. They could keep the bugs to pvp, or make such drastic changes things in pve that were not bugged before and make the entire game unplayable. Huge Drastic sudden updates in my experience usually kills mmos. So they start simple. With pvp there is not as much code to go through as if with pve. When a compiled program gives an error, usually it doesn't say the bug is here at this line of code. Usually they have to disassemble the compiled code find where the problem is and try to find in the code where the problem is. Sometimes it can be fixed by adding or subtracting some machine code from the decompiled file. But huge fixes require changes in the code. PVE puts more code ontop of the basic game mechanics so finding bugs in things like movement, damage, how a player takes damage, deals damage. Which bugs are going to be expected, however the less crap the developers have to go through to find a bug, the faster it will be fixed. If they work on the game mechanics, make sure it intergrates well, fix any integration issues they didn't find on the test server. It takes time, and if they are planning to make this as expansive as this post makes us believe. Maybe we should wait, participate see how it works. Help them develop the mechanics and how this works in the game. Making it so that there are very little control bugs. A fully developed story and pve content would just add more hassle making bug fixing how a character uses the ships. I honestly don't think they should make a full pve solable experience out of this. Operation style story driven events that include players from the opposing faction would be cool. The story progresses based on which faction wins that stage. Pure pvers would probably complain more, but it would add something to the story making players feel like what they do impacts the overall story. If it is repeatable then you can see how it plays out both ways. I think something like that would be more fun than just another grind. Plus there is so much a brand-new player has to catch up on, they have added a lot of "end-game" content. This makes new players just want to rush through things already. We should just wait on the pve, knowing it will come eventually. While they develop and work out a completely different system, we should at least try it out and give some feedback. Stay Calm and Kill Some Pubs,
