  1. ...at least we still have Missile Blast.

  3. My guild actually appreciated this action, even though it means we will have to put off a night of ops progression. Right after it was discovered, it was made very clear by our guild leadership that exploiting was not acceptable behavior and we weren't to engage in it. While it puts off progression by a day, at least now we know who did it. One player, who has 22 characters and has played since launch, got a 3 day suspension. Everyone else got 1. Pretty minimal, I think, all things considered.
  4. Yeah, but they are a logistical nightmare to balance, hence the change. There is an interview somewhere where a dev explains the reasoning behind it- that it was almost impossible to balance every possible permutation of every possible spec for every class against each other. It only becomes more difficult as you add depth to talent trees, so they necessarily had to make the change to disciplines. And not only that, now they can pay attention to, you know, stuff like in-game content and bug fixes as opposed to attempting to balance dot-smash, against the iron fist, against the damn annoying old dot/heal sorc troll spec, against every other spec in the game.
  5. I'm currently parsing a full 25% less as pyro when compared to AP (5 minute dummy parse). AP I'm hitting +6k during an opener/phase, which pyro can't even come close to doing. It's ridiculous.
  6. I'm curious what you all are seeing in parses for PT. Right now I'm pulling a full 25% less dps on a 5 minute dummy parse as pyro, which seems a little off, to say the least. In a full opener/burst phase, I'm pulling over 6k dps on a dummy w/AP, something pyro isn't even remotely capable of. So you get: Less mobility Less survivability No burst 2x Dot maintenance 25% less dps What's the point in even thinking about Pyro now?
  7. Post a useful response. /reply And by the way, a good healer won't do it. Do you even know how to read? We came in with half of our NM A team and couldn't get him past 20% in full 186s and above. Whatever you do folks, do NOT reset the quest thinking it will just set you back a conversation. Now I have to kill the four dudes and do the six dailies all over again. But guess what? The dailies are already greyed out, so I have to wait until tomorrow to finish the damn thing. Super frustrating.
  8. Dulfy.net is also a great resource for boss fight mechanics, gearing, specs, etc. I'd highly recommend taking a look if you're not familiar with ops.
  9. Even if it's accidental, I will usually vote to kick after carefully and politely explaining the situation if the person on the other end is not willing or able to switch roles. If my *** has to endure the dps queue, so does yours. No cutsies.
  10. Time runs out and then the room slowly fills with deadly gas that kills anyone it comes into contact with.
  11. Missile Blast is useful for kiting when you need a quick burst of upfront damage to keep aggro and have to swivel your camera quickly. Yes, it is limited but it does have its... uses, or, uh... use.
  12. It's like I'm asking you how to repair my car and you're replying with a book on the history of the automobile.
  13. No, it's not ignorance. Ignorance is when you don't know something. And you're right, people enjoy playing the game in different ways. Some folks like the stuffing, others like the cranberries, but it doesn't mean I'm ignorant or wrong because I like the cranberries and you like the stuffing, and I think you're missing out.
  14. I don't know about you all, but the higher the mark gets, the less likely I am compete. Lower it to 25k and I'll craft my butt off on 11 alts all day long, but increase it to 50k and suddenly it becomes a chore not worth the rewards. Then toss in bounty week, 12x xp, regular guild progression, and I'll likely only participate on my main because I don't want a game to be my second job.
  15. Exactly. You're seriously kidding yourself if you think there is any real, meaningful choice with talent trees the way they currently are. With my PT, I have exactly one default PvE dps spec that you use for 90% of all encounters, one highly situational PvE dps spec, and one PvP spec, and the only difference between the first and the third are six talent points. PvE, especially, is so railroaded it's ridiculous. If you're not using the optimal dps spec that you can pick in your sleep, you're doing something wrong. I, for one, look forward to the new system because at least now I'll be able to make six choices that affect my gameplay without gimping me instead of two.
  16. I always felt kind of sad for these people, to be honest. The release of a new expansion is a unique time for any MMO- time to sit back, relax, rediscover, and have fun. You're missing out by skipping content and plowing through it.
  17. Regarding Wookies, Jawas, etc: f I recall, the devs have repeatedly said they're not going to make any race that doesn't speak basic playable, which is probably a good thing. Can you imagine sitting through 60 levels of "Towana wanga" cut scenes?
  18. No. I have a degree in Philosophy (I'm not kidding), hence my comment. You really don't know what you're talking about.
  19. No. It doesn't fit. At all. And for the love of God, can we leave the $5 words out of this? This is a freaking video game, not a Philosophy class. It just shows even more that you don't know what the hell you're talking about.
  20. Then what's your solution? Because I have yet to hear a single one that's viable. And no, they decided they don't want hybrids because they're impossible to balance, because, well, they're impossible to balance.
  21. Dudes, quit crying. It's not like most classes ever had any meaningful choice to begin with. With my PT, the only real difference I have between my pvp and pve spec are all of two talents, and as far as variability between PvE specs, there is none, because if you're not using the best dps spec available already, you're doing something wrong. As far as MMOs go, there is very, very little choice where your talents go in this game for most classes. So quit whining that they're taking something away that was never there to begin with. But sometimes it does make a difference for say, the hybrid Assassin tank spec, which is ridiculously overpowered over other classes for certain fights like, say, NM Bestia. This is clearly not intended, grossly unfair to other tanks, and impossible to balance. The same goes for PvP. Quit being selfish. The sky isn't going to fall. It'll all work out in the end. Kill stuff and have fun.

  23. Yeah, it's not ideal, I admit. I have a pretty unique relationship with my GMs and not everyone is in my situation. We also split the duties in half. The guild is run by a couple, so they delegated powers to myself and another ops lead. It works out well for everyone. Rule of two, I guess. =)
