  1. I definitely agree with this. I don't want a nerf but some trash packs and bosses definitely need some tuning. The tuning of tacticals in SOR imo was perfect. hard enough so you couldn't ignore mechanics but still survivable if you get the initial aggro.
  2. I agree the current system is quite fair. I bought every unlock possible from credits made in the game. I buy operation unlocks and escrow unlocks on a regular basis. Doing this has made preferred status bearable. Although I feel like they should increase the requirement for being preferred to being a past subscriber to get that status. I actually wonder how much total Cartel Coins it is for purchasing all the unlocks.
  3. The thing is Bioware wasn't able to sustain itself on a Subscription only model. It wasn't making them enough money. By turning F2P/Preferred they doubled their Revenue stream. By alienating the F2P/Preferred players and making them leave they'll lose money. It's a careful balance of not pissing off either player base and trying to get even more people to play. I feel the biggest revenue for them isn't from Subscription but from the CM. Expand the player base and make buying from the CM even more attractive is likely the model Bioware is trying to go for right now.
  4. Well another thing to consider, Preferred players are also contributing financially to this game via unlocks. You have to buy operation/war zone unlocks, guild bank unlocks, artifact authorization unlocks, section x unlocks, cargo bay unlocks, escrow unlocks and many more, from cm to make preferred status bearable. These unlocks are marketed directly to F2P/Preferred who want to delve more into the game. Each operation/war zone pass is like 2$. I personally have over 50 operation unlocks. 100$ worth of revenue alone to Bioware. Even if I didn't buy it directly from CM but GTN, either way it's being purchased from CM solely because f2p/preferred create the demand for it. I Sub whenever there's new content I like otherwise I stay as preferred. Even though I'm not directly giving bioware money during the months I'm preferred I'm still generating them revenue by being a player who uses unlocks from the CM. Edit: In some respect raising the credit cap for F2P might even earn Bioware more money. For example I'd happily pay 500k credits for an operation unlock. However my credit cap forces me only to purchase them for under 350k. Thus often players don't feel the need to buy operation unlocks on the CM for the sole purpose of reselling them on the GTN. Real Money to In Game Currency is likely not enough for them. But a bigger credit incentive would make people purchase these unlocks to resell them on GTN. The more purchases on the CM whoever buys it the more money Bioware gets.
  5. Get rid of the 3 elites near the entrance. They may be invisible for certain people, just mouse over their general area. 1st hallway pull-Get near hallway then immediately run behind the corner to los them. Try to bring them over to npc allies so they can help. 2nd atrium pull- Don't use aoes , fight one at a time. 3rd hallway pull. Recommend starting the pull with a cc and the los behind the corner to group them up. Boss fights imo are easy. Just these 3 trash pulls are the hardest of the FP.
  6. overall the tacticals seem poorly tuned to encompass all players 15-65. @ this point i'm thankful when a person drops out so we can use a heal comp on the trash pulls.
  7. Yep i played my consular and the Nadia romance flag is not recognized. No mail and no comments in the dream sequence.
  8. I would personally love a galaxy wide ops channel. i hate sitting on the Harbinger fleet waiting for a ops group. To avoid gold spammers and trolls though I think it be a a good idea to limit commenting to 50+ characters and make it so you can only post every 1-2 min. Ignore button I think would take care of anyone else abusing the system. EH ops channels are very handy as well but it tends to get way off topic from ops and at times turns into a regular chat system.
  9. Thanks for the info. It does clears up a few things. =)
  10. Yes please don't use this thread as a confirmation. This is based off my own experience. I was wondering if people had a similar trend as I did of increased crits when they subbed. I looked through the notes on F2P/Sub difference but couldn't find much info on it.
  11. Diagnostic Scan is a free heal you can spam to your hearts content as well as a important part of energy regen. Its a pretty great way of topping people off and recovering energy when its 50% or so. On my scoundrel I usually do 2x SRMP>KoltoPack> and spam some DS at the beginning of a pull and usually unless the damage is massive, the persons health wont drop.
  12. There a operation channel on a few servers I'm on and the custom chat channel works fairly well. But it be very hard to police it from trolls and gold spammers. 50-55 chars only and 1 message per minutes are restrictions I wish were set in place.
  13. I'm not sure if its RNG because the rate seems rather consistent, about 4 months as a Preffered on avg 1-2 crits every couple days on a single char. 3 weeks as a Sub 4-6 crits on a regular daily basis in those 3 weeks. I also send out my comps in the same manner as I did when I was preffered. About Twice a day on the highest critting companion. For things like augments and things you usually craft multiples of, I can't really judge because on preferred you can only que on at a time.So I don't think I can make a direct comparison there, But things like Slicing, Treasure Hunting, Artifice, Diplomacy the change seems rather drastic,
  14. Ive noticed something that once I subbed the rate of my crafting crits increased dramatically. 3-6 times a day on a single character. When I preferred if i was lucky I get maybe 1 ever couple of days. These were across the board on crafting skills and mission, I'd just rarely crit. I'd also very rarely get crafting missions. Just wondering if its confirmed by Bioware that F2P/Preff has a lower chance of crit compared to Subs. I couldn't find much info if so. For more info all my companions are fairly optimized for crit chances. Ex. T7=Slicing, Kira=Synthweaving Tanno=Armsmech, Treek=Artifice, Ship Droid Sensor=Cybertech As well as I have all 3 Legacy of Crafting unlocked on my main crafters.
  15. I had a weird run of KDY yesterday with a Powertech. After a couple pulls in he whispered to me "OH THANK GOD YOU'RE OK!" Confused I replied back "Huh?" As far as i knew the last couple pull were easy and everything was progressing fine. He said my health dropped to 60% and he mass taunted to "save me" and that I should be grateful. LOL! I guess I appreciated the sentiment but I was in no way in danger. I replied back that I'd be perfectly fine. I know KDY very well, and what pulls could be possible trouble. I was a Sorc who could bubble and off-heal if I was low on health. I got a whisper back "oh." Then he got creepy....told me how he'd "save girls" in PVP and no one ever thanked him. How most people in the game were rude and never talked to each other anymore. Whether if I was a girl in real life. Seriously?! In hopes I could get rid of him, I lied and told him I was guy in real life . Wrong move.... then proceeded a endless rant about guys who play girls in this game. How he couldn't understand it, how it was weird. There were no girls on the internet..... on and on... At that point I had enough, I threw him on ignore. He then started apparently yellling in group chat on why I was ignoring him. Just what did he do wrong? (geeeez...i wonder why?) In the end I didn't want to deal with it and left. Definitely a whole lot of weirdos out there.
