  1. Chipping in despite being unsubbed for months (don't ask me why I can still post with 0 days remaining...), but yeah this event does nothing for me since I've literally done the Legendary requirements already (sans the impossible "Do the Chapter that isn't released yet"). I went through it all, checked, I've done a LOT in SWTOR so if it was retroactive it'd be all marked off. I've got maybe 20+ characters and been at character cap (IE can only get more via unlocks) forever, I'm not doing it all again... let alone paying a sub to do it all again, or paying for more character slots. It's a little worrying some people are eating it up, to be honest... only new players really benefit, and they shouldn't be being encouraged to speedrun the game either. In context a few months isn't that long at all, if you wanted it to be a lifetime thing for the game sure but... they added a LOT of achievements that are going to be impossible by next year because the event will be gone. And it really doesn't encourage any further faith in the game, if this was their much built up "new event": do it all again, or bum about on Fleet. I'm not against people enjoying it, but an event that if retroactive can be pre-finished isn't a good event. It's just playing the game. And since that's all it is, and I've already done Legendary, I just won't bother playing since I won't get credit anyway. Certainly will have to do better to get me to resub, not tell me to enjoy the grind a few more times.
  2. Logged ingame a few weeks after I let me (non-recurring, mind you) subscription laspe to see what Preferred would do to all my characters, select active characters and all that... but according to the game, I'm still a sub with sub benefits. Logged into SWTOR.com, where My Account says I'm a subscriber, but the actual Subscription page has no days listed and says I should subscribe? So at the moment I'm a subscriber with invisible days remaining, or something. If it was just the 2nd month of my old sub, wouldn't it still show the days at least? I haven't been charged for another subscription month (I never used auto-subscribe system anyway, always non-recurring every 2 months), but I'd prefer to know what's happening or what to do. Since I'm still considered a sub, I'm still allowed to actually post here on the forum. Would prefer not to just ignore it, in case it's an exploit that could get my account permabanned. Thanks for any input!
  3. Heavy Chapter 12 spoilers ahead Been disgruntled since 4.0 dropped due to many changes that hampered me as a solo player, removing a massive amount of cosmetic drops from planets/FPs, leveling scaling everywhere destroying harmless activities (like soloing HM FP's nobody plays anymore) while at least also fixing harmful ones (like soloing World Bosses). But I stuck it out, bored as I was having finished all KOTFE and Star Fortresses had to offer within a few weeks of release at best. And so the steady Chapter release kept me playing, at least when they were released... Chapter 10 and 11 weren't exactly thrilling, but they made some small measure of logical sense. And then... Chapter 12 hit. As a Trooper, a heavily forced-based Chapter was always going to be bad: from datamining, we already had an idea how bad. It managed to actually be worse than what I thought. So I'm just done. I'm not interested in playing a single player RPG, yet paying a subscription each month for the right to do so. If I want to do that, there's no lack of options. Chapter 12 was a total joke Bioware, KOTFE barely made sense as a non Jedi/Sith character and at this point the suspension of disbelief implodes entirely as the Omni-Story, the story you want to tell imposes itself in full force. Doesn't matter what class you are, what you did, who you are, you're the Outlander and this this and this will happen no matter what you think about it. The fact you can't even QUESTION all the Force shenanigans throughout Chapter 12 is abyssal, to be honest. You managed to have it make less sense than the datamined version, where it was at least brought up and explained. I'm sure Chapter 12 was an amazing, rich experience for all the Jedi and Sith players but for all the other classes it's just silly. And since you couldn't be bothered to make a different experience for half the classes, you further killed any tiny replay-ability KOTFE has. I'm not interested in playing KOTFE as an Omni-Story, where no matter what class or route you take whatever is cheapest wins out. Chapter 12 was the Force story, yet you took the path of least resistance and half-assed it for all the other classes resulting in a mess of nonsense that killed KOTFE for my main, and all desire to play as a result. TLDR: KOTFE Chapter 12 proves there's only really one story from now on, the Omni-Story that everyone gets. If you didn't fit into that specific Omni-Story, then it ends up nonsense and clearly wasn't designed for you, and your only option is to deal with it as BW isn't willing to invest in differentiation to compensate.
  4. Except that I'm not, by your reasoning the CC I'm getting for the FOLLOWING month is this month's CC?? What part of the list of 12+ months is hard to understand? I can go all the way back to 2013, always getting CC on a monthly basis, yet here I am without a mail for January nor CC for January. I haven't changed how I've been billed, BW bugged their system. Wall-o-Text: I just went back through my ENTIRE sub history (17th January 2013 - 9th/10th April 2016, assuming I don't resub) and here are the results: From and including: Thursday, 17 January 2013 To and including: Sunday, 10 April 2016 Result: 1180 days Supposed to be billed every 30 days, no lapse in sub since first subbed: Works out to 39 billing months (rounded down because it's .3333) 39 billing months X 525 CC per billing month = 20,475 CC I'm meant to have CC-given months according to my ledger is 37, not including April 9th/10th. So 38 CC-given months if that comes. 38 CC-given months x 525 CC per billing month = 19,950 CC I actually have (or will have in a week) Seems pretty cut and dried I'm missing CC from my point of view, and what BW's system was meant to be giving me according to the quote above which has stayed accurate for me till January this year.
  5. Except my monthly CC didn't come for the month of January, and I haven't gotten double CC for a different month. Don't feel like I should need to spell this out for anyone, nor should I have to sub indefinitely so I can get my January CC in October 2018 (aka some random point in the future). Unless BW's fix grants me the missing CC, I'm being shortchanged. Just changing the broken date on their end isn't going to grant me CC automatically.
  6. Given I've been a non-stop sub since, like, late 2013 at the very least you could give me the CC's I'm meant to receive BW. Here's my ledger from present to last January: Notice anything missing? Because I do. Doesn't look like the claim of "the system hasn't been active long enough for you to lose CC" is accurate, and I don't think my having staying subbed on the off chance I get double CC 6 months down the line is going to work out.
  7. This isn't in the first post nor the <Four of Five> Sale Run page, but I take it this is true and you don't run Republic side at all, correct? Raiding noob that I am, I'm also curious why NiM Council's drop is 100 mil cheaper than NiM Brontes' one... is Brontes bugged still then? I always thought Council was meant to be harder
  8. Just throwing it out there, but every APAC Region player went from about 20 ms to 220+ ms without any other choice but to quit playing entirely if we didn't like it. I think USA players having only one server would survive the process. The biggest problem with server merges is the terrible naming system robbing people of their character's identities.
  9. Honestly is anyone shocked or even think this was ever intended? It was just something never bothered to be fixed (aka "a feature"). Seemed kind of obvious that doing a Heroic when you complete a bonus in a group, you probably shouldn't be getting Player B's bonus + player C's bonus + player D's bonus in addition to your own. Is it nice to make money fast, sure, but doesn't really make any sense... especially since before 4.0 no quests I know of ever worked that way. Player A, B C and D's bonuses all just marked off each other, not stacked.
  10. Don't know if I'd call it a comeback, given I'm a rather longtime sub and I'm likely to not renew my sub for the first time in years soon... Mostly out of sheer boredom. 4.0 removed half the stuff I worked towards or did in SWTOR, and all I've really got to do now is grind Heroics for credits or sit in queue's waiting for a Flashpoint/Ops/PvP pop which never happens quickly. Bumming about on Fleet for hours isn't my idea of fun. I'm sure SWTOR is amazing for a new player with all the old content + new content, but as an old player it's just boring now. There's nothing left for me to do anymore, and sub-2-hours of content a month isn't enough to keep me. Horrendous "sub reward" incentives like HK-55's severed head doesn't entice me either, lol.
  11. Apparently about ~6-9k per slicing node (that's what you get at rank 550, at rank 1 you get 3-5k) is what Bioware considers "a good number", while Heroic/Daily payouts are about 10-18k per mission completion. 3 second channel x 3 superior to doing quests. But nope nope nope nobody wants it changed and I'm Hitler for suggesting otherwise. Lmao.
  12. This basically prevents me from Snowballing other players at all without being a huge douche (when previous they could just click it off when they got annoyed), and kind of makes it worthless... Bioware, you are aware you ALSO removed the ability for me to snowball/tinsel myself as well, right? So I can't hit myself with it, and if I hit other players and they can't remove it I'm basically griefing...
  13. Not a "game about to die thread". It's very much a thread making light of the fact their new model is giving 1 Chapter per month, and that being our only new content to sate us, while having removed a lot of stuff in 4.0 that we could've done. So if we're only getting 1 Chapter per month, and the first of these Chapters isn't very good... then it doesn't look good for upcoming Chapters either, no? If Chapter X is just like all the previous chapters, and able to be done easily in the space of an hour (or less) and as a Chapter is non-repeatable... then yeah, I would say people should consider whether or not it's worth subbing at all for the meantime when you can just sub in like a year's time and get all the content at once for far cheaper. Certainly even I can't justify paying what amounts to ~$40 AUD a month for an afternoon's of content, and the rest of the time expected to twiddle my thumbs since I've done most everything else already. And I'm the kind of guy who's spent endless hours Seeker Droiding mindlessly, so if it gets to the point I'm bored... well...
  14. True, but pre 4.0 you could also fall back on a plethora of old content, achievements, overlevelling to do things that couldn't normally be done previous and so on... as well as a mass of cosmetic grindables in the form of planetary drops, FP drops and so on. 4.0 absolutely gutted the old optional content, overlevelling was demolished, soloing HM FP's was demolished, soloing WB's was demolished, a MASSIVE amount of cosmetic grindables was flatout removed from the game (commendation levelling gear, Flashpoint armor/weapons, plantery drops, differing levels of random boxes)... and since I did a lot of those, they just up and vanished when 4.0 rolled around. Now I spend most of my days grinding Heroic's for credits or levelling a new character, and that's kind of it. Anything else I liked spending my sub time on got removed, and bumming about on Fleet hoping to get in a group for Flashpoint/Ops as a DPS isn't something I enjoy much of. Post KOTFE 4.0 turned my gameplay into: - Do monthly content in a day (Chapter X +) - Grind Heroics for credits to buy cosmetics - PvP if I can be bothered getting smashed repeatedly - Sit on fleet not getting a FP/Ops pop because I'm a DPS - Shell out for a new character slot and do it all again Having MORE to do pre 4.0 is kind of depressing, actually. But I'm mostly a solo player as well.
  15. Just saying, I'm pretty sure we all expect a whole lot of "Is that it, my 15 dollar a month gets me X hour/s of content to sate me for an entire month?!?" threads tommorow and people threatening to (or actually) unsubbing as a result. Right now it isn't looking too good, given how fast you can breeze through KOTFE 1-9 (skipping nothing mind you), I can't expect a single chapter plus one or two Alliance Alerts will keep anyone satisfied for very long... but that's the model we're stuck with at the moment. Chapter X will demonstrate what we're to expect in the next 6+ months, so I hope it's good Bioware... if it's not, I can't see a lot left to justify staying subbed when you insisted on removing so much old content in 4.0 to begin with. I don't claim to speak for anyone but myself, but I'm doubtful I'm alone in this line of thinking either.
  16. Per my understanding every billing date of the month (for me, every month around the 20th) I get some CC in exchange for subbing... but looking at the last few months dates... It's been getting later and later for months of subbing now, and when I extended my sub again just now it said my next billing date was around the 10th of February... So am I just not getting any CC for my January sub or something? I haven't let my sub run out in, like, a year so I don't know why my billing date keeps being pushed back either, and the moment it's looking like January is outright being skipped over.
  17. I was part of some discussion about this on Reddit when we first found out, but since this is the first time the majority of SWTOR players are seeing this item figured I'd post something about it here. Don't buy it! You are burning tokens/mats/credits for no reason!! To craft it requires: Testimony from a NiM Capable player on Reddit: So what does this mean? Essentially, you're paying 50 Gray Helix for the schematic, then you're crafting something that requires 15 Flagship Encryptions and other items.... for what amounts to a 20% buff one time. If your group has to the reset the phase, your game crashes, anything happens where you leave instance or group even temporarily, the buff vanishes. All those Encryptions down the toilet. It would be cheaper, IMO, to simply wipe on NiM repeatedly and pay the repair cost then craft even one of these things for AT BEST a single NiM Op run. That's the most you can possibly get out of it at present. So I implore no-one to buy it: BW if you want to keep it this expensive, then please, PLEASE make this item a reusable item. A reusable item is WORTH such a higher price. A one-off buff? No, never. Just my opinion.
  18. The only companions that made the player "irrevelant" were healers. If you sent the 'broken OP' tank/dps in alone against 2 or more mobs at a time, they usually died. Yeah, if you sent a tank in to 1 v 1 some downlevelled champion, it usually spammed self-heal faster than the champ damaged it. The final champion boss of one of the Coruscant Heroics also gets 2 shot despite being downlevelled, so make of that what you will. Only heals were a big issue but they nerfed all 3.
  19. Only bad/brainwashed to use heals only players walked into a Star Fortress and slapped on healmode then went afk. Playing a DPS with a Tank/DPS, you have to follow mechanics, you have to play your class. Even with a healcomp you had to do that, unless you planned on just staring angrily at the Exarch until it dropped it's barrier. Dual DPS companions couldn't survive against an Exarch for 30 seconds while "broken OP", no way I'm going to bother trying to solo it with a DPS now.
  20. Heroics post level 61(?) are now part of the Alliance content (IE what the game expects you to do after finishing KOTFE's chapters), so you're expected to do them. A lot. It's about 80 Alliance crates per Alliance Specialist (320 Crates total) to get a maxed out Alliance. That's 320 Heroics minus whatever crates you buy, not including all the crates you have to spend on Star Fortresses (5 per). Alliance system is a huge grind already. Pre 4.0 you blazed through Heroics because you could outlevel/outgear them. Post 4.0 you made your way through Heroics at about average speed because you were downleveled, but your companions made the threat of death minor. Tank mode pulled the whole room and lost 99% health (or died), DPS mode was faster but you risked dying. Healmode was basically slow immortality. Post 4.0.2 your slowly trudge your way through Heroics because you're downlevelled and your companion can barely heal you against a handful of mobs, and if DPS/Tank mode they usually die often depending on Heroic. Point being, the grind is still a grind, but now comps are weaker so it's more tedious than before. Especially heals. I have no reason to use a healer, my own off-heals as DPS (Commando) seem better. Being downlevelled to a Heroic's level doesn't suddenly make it fun, BW knew that from Conquest. But it was bearable if I didn't have to stop and heal to full for every pull cause my DPS/Tank companion dies constantly at Influence 50.
  21. I still haven't been able to see this thing spawned since 3.0's Early Access week when nobody was yet geared enough to actually fight it. Since then every trip to Yavin, it's missing. Every time someone asked for a group (early after 3.0 dropped), it wasn't up in any instance. This is insane, this WB is getting to being a year old and I haven't even been able to fight the thing once yet. Respawn timer needs to go down, there's no reason why Dreadtooth (Sec X Daily area) needs to have a 30 min respawn and this thing a supposed 7 hour respawn (Yavin Daily area).
  22. I take it then the problem is you're "so casual" to basically be unaffected. Story is obscenely easy, there was almost never any challenge to it. KOTFE especially was designed to be played by people who've never played SWTOR in their life, so I'd even consider it even easier than the rest of the game. Solo SF are a spike up but they're pretty easy too, since nothing really hits all that hard. Heroic Star Fortresses? Rank 50 Tank/DPS mode companion both got obliterated by a Exarch while "broken OP". Even planetary Heroics certain ones would kill Tank/DPS companions if you pulled more than 2-3 groups, while "broken OP". I've noticed the nerfed companion tank holding threat better, but healmode is almost worthless with how slowly it tries to heal you (or itself). Sorry, but it seems a bit weird to me. It's like saying "those Ops changes didn't affect me in the least, by the way I don't do Ops". From the sounds of it you don't do any content that would even outright require a companion to do with, most if not all that could be done with just a lone player. Right now I've got 0 incentive to do Heroic Star Fortresses solo anymore, when a Tank/DPS comp from 4.0 died constantly to Exarchs: with 4.0.2 changes, probably can't even clear it with Tank/DPS without spamming Aygo Turret.
  23. It negatively effects me because BW seems intent on making the Alliance system unable to be "failed", while at the same time providing no option to take a "recruit no-one" path. Why do we need to stupid-proof Alliance recruiting, while there's no real way to fail recruitment right now? My character made to not recruit anyone currently has about 12 Alliance Alerts/Missions, because no matter how many times I Refuse them, they tell me to go do their quest anyway. If I abandon quest, it gives me the Alert back flashing away. How about putting in an actual choice? Alliance is "recruit everyone (except 2 guys)" or "have a long list of Alerts" right now, there is no middle ground. Having an empty Alliance is impossible without having the Alert tab always flashing away, and prevent any kind of advancement. Having to recruit Qyzen to Reject Lokin is just silly, however you want to do it. That's the only option available at present.
  24. All these choices (IE, the two that exist at present. Only two.) currently have a big fat [Kill Companion] ]Reject Companion] [imprison Companion] or otherwise [something Bad To Companion], yet this change was still needed? People were still being baffled when [Kill Companion] somehow killed their Companion?? Meanwhile, it's also literally impossible to fail Companion Alert Quests, since [Refuse Quest] gives you the quest anyway, and Abandoning said Quest gives you the Alert back. You can't get rid of the quest and not have an Alert flashing, the only way to be rid of both is to recruit (or reject the 2 rejectable of 11 total comps). Come on, why do obvious choices (that outright tell you what will happen) require an additional confirmation, but on the opposite side I can't refuse to help Alliance members without being permanently saddled with quests or flashing Alerts?
  25. So you're saying you were able to kill 1 Jagga target per minute, when most of them are more than a minute apart and have ~15 minute respawns.... and did that faster and pressing 3 random glowing items on a shelf in front of you then a bottle? Quest can be easy or hard, depends entirely on what's going on at Hoth at the time. If all the mobs are being hard camped by other players, and WB's are down (they have 2 hour respawns, save Gargath/Dreadtooth). It was brutal Early Access week with several thousand players all on Hoth at once killing Jagga targets.
