  1. Theres tons of stuff that does not require cartel coins and you can already hit 100% using solely trophies and the credits decoration vendor so if their goal is to hide everything behind cartel coins they're not doing a very good job. Besides a lot of the cooler stuff is rare drops from flash points and operations. There are a few "planet" things on the CZ vendor. It would make sense for that kind of thing to be each planet's coms vendor instead. Or perhaps a trophy tied to exploration or something for each planet.
  2. You can't see who is on the custom chat channel though and you can't all use the same guild bank and more importantly now, guild ship.
  3. 500 unique accounts would be a fine limit but my guild is routinely hitting the cap, partially because we have some completely crazy people with 8 characters in guild (?!) and slightly crazy people with 4 or 5 (I really liked the inquisitor story ok). 100 very active players is a rather low limit. The alternative would be to force people's alts onto other guilds which of course many guilds will be considering now. There may be some sort of technical limit that makes larger numbers more taxing on the server, considering 16 man group finder completely broke database access...
  4. The concept of having multiple reward tiers possibly with one very low to get people hooked really isn't a bad one.
  5. You should at least have a "public to guild" option or something.
  6. I guarantee that this was not a decision made for a non technical reason. If you have two characters of the same class you can see how bad the current implementation is technically. For example I have two inquisitors, I place andronikos with my Assassin and log over to my Sorc. Andronikos is now my Sorc's Andronikos, customizations and all. This combined with the peculiarities with the holographic versions of companions leads me to believe that something is pretty terribly wrong with companions; the current implementation is likely intended to be a workaround for some major database or other limitation. It'd be really cool to have this in the future but not at the expense of screwing other stuff up if it requires major database changes.
  7. Sounds like you need to roll an assassin.
  8. They're called refreshers, jeez. http://starwars.wikia.com/wiki/Refresher
  9. You also occasionally have to do this after OS upgrades on the phone.
  10. Rep tokens already give you a small number of credits for selling them, they should double the amount if anything. Now, classic and elite coms, theres some things that are useless. I guess you can convert a few hundred coms into 15k credits but would it kill them to throw some mats on the vendors?
  11. Inside a warzone your level is set to 55. At 55 level stats your couple dozen crit thats good at your level amounts to nothing.
  12. Just FYI there are autobans for saying the names of certain websites. My guild mate made a joking response to a question about the quickest way to make money in guild chat and was banned for a week.
  13. How will this be different from our ships?
  14. SWTOR as with pretty much all directx games support arbitrary resolutions so if your video card can drive the 4k display it'll render at full resolution if you set it to. Now, what kind of video hardware is necessary is an entirely separate question...
  15. Did you play on the test server? Has damage been nerfed since then? I remember time to kill being pretty quick.
  16. I would also imagine that they're doing it over the weekend so they can patch the week's work onto the server on Friday, review the statistics on Monday then make the changes for the next weekend.
  17. My group saw had similar problems with that boss in 8m HM and that buff. Almost immediate wipe the first two attempts, yawnfest the third time and the tanks didn't change anything about how the boss was aggro'd or positioned.
  18. Well yeah they're fine except for the highest end encounters in the game. Which is what this thread is about.
  19. Sins have no cooldowns that defend against nontech/force without aid of the RNG. NM (and HM operations chief) as a sin is literally "roll 1d6, if you get a 1, you die even at full health".
  20. Ah, thats what I get for only looking in the tanking and sin forums. Any other severely broken and since patched classes that were patched you'd like to compare against? Theres no argument that shadows are only a little broken, unlike operative dps which was completely broken and guardians which were somewhat broken (hence the use of hybrid specs which Bioware does not want to be viable).
  21. Sure, but lets get numbers are run the math on various balancing possibilities. You want discharge/force breach to grant damage resistance or a wither/slow time like buff as well? The current 5% accuracy debuff is supposed to help reduce damage but again, RNG. I suggested an auto absorb mechanic for kinetic bulwark earlier in this thread, are there other ideas? Changing combat technique isn't necessarily a bad idea. Flat 10% DR or something more? There are a ton of threads running numbers on how unfair everything is currently to shadows, lets try and run some numbers and find solutions that are balanced without being overpowered.
  22. Not perhaps the best argument - thats what SM is for after all. Whats important is you can get away with it on a jug or PT. I really do think the fix can be a relatively small change.
  23. Perhaps like the xeno they should raise it to 55, instance it and make it into a 8/16m weekly encounter exactly.
