  1. I've been holding on to these, across my toons, ever since they first came out. For awhile I'd just sell them in bulk to the vendor for creds. Then, when I couldn't do that, I considered just deleting them all as junk, but it would have taken too long (it will still take too long). I hope they allow us to vendor these for 0 credits...or somehow bulk delete them I still have hundreds of these things...if not a thousand between my toons.
  2. At a higher level, Doctor O doesn't ask to experiment on your brain anymore during his little brief intro dialogue. So yes....some stuff has been removed. As for what's gated behind Dark/Light choices, yes, you have to get to a certain level to unlock them on the starter planet. If you finish the quest too soon, you may not get some of them. Agent has one in particular....dark side gets one statement from Keeper when he reviews your time on Hutta. "Neutral" gets a different statement during that conversation, and light side gets a 3rd response.
  3. Small point of contention. SWG, from start to finish, was 8.5 years. CU, and then NGE, did DRAMATICALLY reduce the number of active players / accounts. NGE was a complete and total mess for the first 2-6 months. I spent the majority of that time up in JTL (actual REAL space sim content) 4-5 years before the end of the game they did finally settle on what would turn out to be the best version of the game as far as content / playability. However, too many of the original subscribers were still complaining ALL OVER THE PLACE and it didn't really get a fair shake in my opinion. I was there for all of it.
  4. I've found it annoying, but not to the level of the OP. Wow.
  5. They won't do any conversions that allow for current stockpiles of anything to give people a day 1 advantage to crafting 6.0 items. Musco said as much with a recent post.
  6. I've only recently (the last month or so) started inviting people to my imp guild on SF. I've never done the "random invite" as much as I've been tempted to. I've always hated getting them, so I don't do it. I tend to spit out my "recruitment spam" when I land on a planet to do heroics. If someone contacts me via whisper, or I see it in chat, I'll invite them - as long as they understand they're joining a guild of solo players and not to expect actual grouping with guild members...or even really guild chat. Also, and this is a personal preference, if someone has an ascii special character in their name, I get annoyed. That means I have to hope that the /reply > copy/paste trick that I was told about actually works (it doesn't always for me) or I have to look up the code. I used to be a little more strict, make them meet me in person so I could invite them that way.
  7. There isn't, as far as I can see, any issue with the idea of that. The OP is not posting for that, just that the game is "unplayable" without it...
  8. I'm not terribly clear on what you're trying to ask, but I'll take a stab at it: Auto completing the story isn't automatic when you reach level 70. You have to choose to start one of the expansion stories. As for which decisions are made during the original 3 story chapters, I'm not sure. When you skip them, you don't get any of the titles for the content you skipped over. I would presume that also goes for codex entries. I've done it on enough toons where I do know that your LS/DS points stay the same.
  9. That's also old (players are level 60 and the mobs are 55) and I'm going to guess and say couldn't be done currently.
  10. This is probably the only reason I understand ANY "level too fast" argument.
  11. Well, there is a survey you can take whenever you want. When you cancel your sub they give you a questionnaire as to WHY??? Fill out what you want, submit it, and resub when you want. They still get the survey.
  12. Mulzz... I don't agree with anything you said at all. So much to the point that I didn't even know these White Acute Modules existed. After playing this game at the start, and every since, I'm very happy with how they have made leveling less stressful. You can unlock a mount at level 1 now if you want. Otherwise you get it at level 10. You used to have to walk until level 25. You can have any companion play any of the three roles. You used to have to use specific ones depending on what you wanted them to do. In some classes, you didn't get a healer until your last companion. You had to gear your companions. Now it doesn't matter, the only thing they NEED is to have any weapon equipped in order to function properly. So while there are a few things that some people might consider..."lesser" that I could see their point of view... Leveling faster just isn't one of those things for me. ....cookie cutter companions....that's an argument I could get behind.
  13. I played SWG from start to finish. There were a few things that you needed other players for, but only in the first few months did that NEED to be someone actually ATK. You could heal battle fatigue from afk musicians/dancers running macros. You could heal black bars via afk medics. You NEEDED a Mayor, or someone on a player city's militia to give you zoning rights, but after that, you didn't need to talk to anyone to live in a player city. SOME of the mobs were rough and needed a large group. Then the armor/weapons got better and the groups got smaller. You did need crafters, and miners, but you could get what they sold via vendors. Other people made SWG more fun, but you didn't NEED interaction with them for the majority of the game. Kind of like this game.
  14. Not sure how you would calculate things in this case since you took over the guild when the last GM quit. Since guild ships are really cheap now (8 million credits) there's very little interest in spending more than that for an existing guild. The forums used to have "guild for sale" posts all the time, I rarely see them anymore. Since this one has a guild stronghold also, maybe you could get some extra credits for that too...maybe. Honestly, I'd kick everyone else out(you said they're inactive), make it a private guild and just use it for yourself. Eventually, if you want, start inviting fresh people into it.
  15. They did recently up the odds (a little) of getting the 252 artifact boxes and master work crystals in the tier 4 boxes. I think the 248 drops had their odds increased a little bit too.
  16. Nah...there is a pretty good history of the devs implementing something and then deciding it's TOO MUCH and nerfinng it. I think it's too soon to tell. Need a few more weeks of data. Also, unlike things in the past, there's no real "cry" on the forums to change things right now.
  17. You get a fair amount of conquest points for the 3 minute entry level PVE space mission. The problem with those became apparent shortly after the "heroic" space missions came out. Between people exploiting them, and the general negative backlash from the increase in difficulty...I think the devs pretty much abandoned space PVE You could do 10-15 Jabiim escort (30-45 minutes) or do CZ198 and a few of the shorter heroics and get your 15k in about the same time frame. One is WAY more mind-numbingly boring than the other. ***edited*** I logged in to see how many points a space PVE mission got. last I checked was dbl xp week...so my numbers aren't accurate for "normal" weeks. With the 10% conquest guild perk and wearing my 7 piece dvl suit (why not?) I am now getting ~650 conquest points for that 3.5 minute space PVE mission. still a bit faster than MOST heroics...but you'll need to do it 23 times. Faster to do regular heroics since you'll get bonus missions and rampage(s)
  18. I disagree with you on this point. The Cartel Market is maybe 95% cosmetic stuff that has absolutely no bearing on game play or leveling. Unique armor skins, weapons, mounts, etc. You want shiny stuff, pay for it. I have no problem with that. The various XP boosts available for cartel coins are a convenience, not required. I also have no problem with that. They are actually handed out free for some of the early class / story quests...and two PVE space missions (the first time you run them). Going by the title of this thread, it isn't "progression" that is double monetized, it's the possibility to spend CC to make leveling a tad bit faster that's "monetized" via the cartel market. Which I also don't have a problem with....because as mentioned, there are xp boosts given out as quest rewards that you can save up and use whenever you want.
  19. I've seen a few people asking on the planets for Heroic groups. They're so easy and fast now, there's no NEED to group for them.
  20. In my opinion, this is the ONLY reason to worry about it now.
  21. For me, it was so I could participate in conquest. I was on a small PVP server (POT5) and hardly anyone was doing conquest. I wanted those titles! I got probably 1/2 of them completely by myself from that server. The rest I had to join a mega guild to get. Also, conquest rewards, the encryptions, sold pretty well and I had a TON of them.
  22. I (essentially) have a mono guild for imp toons and pub toons. I bought flagships for each years ago. I'm only now working on unlocking rooms. There was never a reason to before, and it was expensive. Now, with the guild perk system, there's at least a reason for me to do it. As to HOW to do it. Make alts. A LOT of alts. You need 200 or 250 encryptions to open up the rooms and as a solo player the only way to really do that is through conquest. You need to have enough alts to make conquest goals to reach the guild goal for the small invasion planet. Main + alts to 15k each enough alts to hit the guild point goal of 110k points. This is MUCH easier to do now than it was a couple weeks ago due to the recent changes in conquest. I did it with 55 toons last week during double xp/cxp Having a 2nd account helps a lot if you have two computers you can play on. I've also started inviting players into my guild. I look for other "solo" players who want the extra xp they get by being in a guild but none of the actual group interaction. A guild of loners, if you will. It works out.
  23. With this, specifically, I think the OP is right. Now, summer might have a little to do with it, but there are the other factors. 6.0 is going to change how gearing works. Ossus is now "old" content and not as many people are going there. Fewer people = fewer groups.
  24. I don't do warzones very often, but when I do, I almost never see anyone bothering with, or maybe even knowing how to do, objectives.
