  1. They can have all the well intended justifications they want, but that doesn't make them right. They have a personal grudge against certain companies, or certain people, and they're throwing their weight around like a bully because they can. I'm surprised some folks that have similar capabilities haven't stuck it back to them yet. I'm sure they've pissed off enough folks for a few of their "compatriots" to be nailed unexpectedly. Karma is a *****.
  2. Don't be surprised if the answer to #2 is basically just a yes or no answer, since that's the kind of question that was ultimately asked. That's the kind of question, when answered, that gets the most rage from the forumites because they don't feel like their concerns were addressed. Rule of thumb: Don't ever ask yes or no questions if you can help it. You'll get exactly the answer you don't want and little else.
  3. As long as the Sentinel rep is on the ball, there is no need to worry about the Marauder person. The answers will be the same for both. If you haven't heard anything from the Marauder rep in a month, send questions over to the Sentinel person. I agree that the interim time would be better spent asking and then reducing questions down to the most important, rather than wondering if a person is reading forums or not. Fix the problem at the next opportunity to elect a rep.
  4. I just did this story arc and had the same problem. The droids walked to the other end of the room, through the hole I blew through the door, and stopped. I found that if I got into close enough range, they stayed put long enough to finish them off. I was trying to use range like I usually do, and they would move too far out of it and reset. It took a while for the boss to be killed, as he reset far more often, even if I followed, but eventually he stayed in the doorway and was killed. It's gotta be a bug, but if you're persistent enough, you can kill them all eventually and continue.
  5. Just wanted to hit this one. They told us up front how the Achievement system was going to work, so no surprises there. Not counting past kills (it does count things that have items or titles attached, because there's a marker to look for) is not "bugged," it is the way the game was designed. They also threw us a huge bone by making the accomplishments bound to Legacy rather than for each character, so you don't have to grind for anything. You can accomplish just about all of it with new alts, or with older characters that haven't done the content yet, like the Makeb stuff. If you're going to complain about bugged content, know what's bugged and what's Working As Intended first.
  6. Developers do that in other games, and the players still blow through the content just as fast, and still have the same complaints about there not being enough new shiny things to do to keep them subscribing. Here's the model they want to you to play by: Make new characters, replay the content, and do the "end content" with your max level characters. If they wanted people to keep going with a few characters, you'd see a lot more class story content. They're broadening the pool faster than they are deepening it, and there's nothing inherently wrong with that approach. It's just the path they've chosen, and most games, believe it or not, do that as well. Frequent level cap increases and adding new zones doesn't always work the way you think it does. Keep in mind the game is barely a year old, and much of that time has been spent adjusting what's already in the game, as much as making new things. New content is slower in the first year or so of a game's life as they work out kinks, and then, once their footing is set and they know they'll be around for a while, the Devs really get going into content. If they haven't announced a larger expansion by the end of the year, then maybe you could start worrying more about the "small" additions we're getting.
  7. If you've read any of the other comments in this thread, you would have noticed that there are many people that find this type of content valuable to their playstyle. They are just a representation of the broader playerbase that doesn't frequent or respond in the forums, so be assured that there are thousands of people that would agree with them. Content doesn't have to make you happy. If it makes someone else happy, it was worth putting in. You don't have to use the achievement titles, you don't have to look at how much time some else has "wasted" by looking at their achievements, you don't have to go hunt 1000 beasties. Go find content you do like and do that.
  8. The Sith are completely made up, too, as well as every other piece of the Star Wars universe. Are you one of those "If Lucas didn't write it, it's not Star Wars" kind of people? There are too many different writers out there to single out one or two as the only ones that are official. Dread Masters fit in perfectly fine in the Sith story.
  9. I haven't played through all of the class stories yet, but the ones I have leave little room for more story progression. I'm wondering what the people that want more class story are expecting when they ask for it. It sounds, from the developer comment that was posted earlier, that instead of trying to write 8 individual stories, they're focusing on larger, big-picture stories that more than one class would want to deal with. I don't see anything wrong with that. It's not like Bounty Hunters and Sith live in a vacuum, always separated from each other. Sometimes the narrative has to weave together and both paths will join for a while before separating again. If I were writing storyline, I would pick one major event, and then try to present that event through the different points of view. You might do some different things as an Agent than you would a Warrior, but everyone would "gather" at the conclusion, and there would be major plot points that everyone sees no matter what path they choose. They don't need to have 8 completely different paths anymore. Too time consuming if you want regular content updates.
  10. They still have a couple of weeks to do that. Nothing major is going to change between now and then, so they can tell us more while we wait.
  11. If you look at it in a pessimistic view, I could see this being true. However, that's the idea behind a F2P model. It's SUPPOSED to be a lesser version of the standard game. There are things, like the chat restrictions, credit limits, and xp curve limits, that are there mainly to curb gold farmers and other spammers, and these are true of every game, but you also want reasons for free people to subscribe. This game chose the path of limitation to achieve that goal, but the end result is the same. If you want all the normal content, you pay the normal sub. If they had made the existing game the Free version, and made the subscription game even better, what's the difference? I've played two games that converted midstream to a F2P hybrid from a full subscription model. Both games had the complainers, the folks that blamed everything wrong with the game on the free players being around, but in reality, there were more players playing since the change than there were before, and that's the goal. The other game I'm talking about was around for years, and had lost folks to natural attrition, and many of those were able to come back, check out what was new, jump back onto characters that had laid dormant for years, and enjoy themselves for as long as they wanted without having to make more financial commitments if they didn't choose to. That other game died, but not because of F2P or anything associated with it. It died because the publisher decided to go in a different direction and killed a game with a steady six figure player base and making a profit. No matter what pay model they use, there will ALWAYS be content that doesn't appeal to you. No development company bats a thousand when it comes to making everyone happy all the time. The issues you have with the game would still be there, just in a different form. Pay for things now with CC, earn the stuff in game through grinding, or don't worry about things that aren't real important in the long run. How anyone chooses to get, or not get these things should have no bearing on your enjoyment or lack thereof in this game.
  12. Some folks like it, some don't. That's where the art team should aim for. They'll never please everyone. Personally, I hide the head gear 99% of the time anyway, because it's one of the few ways I can be distinct. Ugly (or nice) helmets don't affect me. If I had a vote, I'd like for the force users to have more armors that are mostly just robes, and less of the metal bits, even for the tanks. I'd like my Jedi to look more like a Jedi and not a trooper with a robe, but other than that, the new stuff looks interesting.
  13. I believe he gets assigned to you when you use the Holoterminal in you ship.
  14. 1) Reputation is only one of many things coming. Did you forget the level cap increase and the new planet? 2) Why are you assuming that developers do new content OR bug fixes, but not both? They're putting out a patch every couple of weeks, with bug fixes in each one. Do those not count because they're not fixing your pet peeve first? 3) If this content were tied exclusively to PVP, and if you didn't like PVP, would you say that the developers wasted their time and didn't improve the game in any way? There are too many playstyles to say that any new content, no matter how small, is a complete waste of time. There will always be people that are thankful for what comes out. There's no MMO law that says you as a paying customer have to be happy with everything the developers do to the game you play. Let those who like a grind get something new to grind. They pay money just like I do, which only helps keep the game servers running, and those working on the game employed. This content won't hurt anyone that doesn't want to do it, and they've gone out of their way to make sure it's a grind that's as painless as possible by tying it to legacy.
  15. Captain Kirk was a guy who constantly disobeyed orders (a dick), endangered his crew because he always ran into old enemies and usually won because the bad guy made a fatal mistake, or because Spock or Scotty bailed him out. That's not a great hero, that's dumb luck. I don't see how your description of the reimagined Kirk is any different than that.
