  1. I'd have to agree, and throw in the 'pain in the freaking tail' to get a group together most of the time...
  2. It's just flat out tiring trying to fill spots. 9 times out of 10 it takes forever getting a group together and with most people and limited time, it's just not worth it. Even in a larger guild, it's still a pain. I'm done with finding groups as well which is also making me less and less interested in playing unfortunately. Bioware desperately needs to address this. I think server merges are a must at this point, without a doubt.
  3. Well, it's been a blast. Had a ton of fun with the story to 50 but it's check out time for me. With some good Single Player games coming out, I'm gonna bail on the monthly payment in favor of other games. Still, I liked TOR in many ways, but it needs some work and needed features as has been discussed endlessly here on the forums. Have fun all, and see you on the flip-side of life. Spaghetti Monster speed....
  4. I gave up on finding groups for Flashpoints. My time is too precious to be sitting for 30 minutes on the imperial fleet spamming trade chat. We need a tool that people can use no matter where they are in the TOR universe. This is the only way we can get enough people on each server to see if a group is looking for someone. Only having chat on the Fleet is not good enough. I would be shocked is BW isn't working on something, this is ridiculous.
  5. At level 28 it's great fun, just wait another 15 levels and it's like hitting a cliff....you realize just how squishy you really are.
  6. Same here, and also using a med probe! lol After I hit level 40, I've been dying like crazy. Before 40, I did rather ok. Now at level 44 and it's going to be a loooong road to 50 and a lot of credits
  7. This is a massive bummer....Let's hope this is addressed soon. I love being able to upgrade the mods in my gear, can't believe this is locked at 50.
  8. Instead of ignoring a thread if there's nothing worth stating....people just can't resist. Talk about some sensitive sally's in this community, unbelievable. People should really not be getting upset because someone else doesn't like the game or isn't as impressed as you.
  9. That's pretty much my summation as well. I'd like to have a scenario where I'm playing TOR and GW2 as well, but we'll see.
  10. You do understand why Blizzard's servers went down right? They had no idea of how many people were actually going to play the game and their servers were destroyed. That's a good problem to have, and from there the game exploded. It wasn't** bad code, Blizzard has some of the best coders in the biz. Demand for previous MMO's to WoW was minuscule, and they got their arses handed to them int he beginning only to overcome it.
  11. Bioware should and most likely will, write something up soon telling us what they are working on for the fist patch. This will indicate their direction and how aggressive they are taking this game. I'm all ears and eager to see their gameplan for TOR. I'm excited, as I hope they will do what they need to do to satisfy. If the first patch is 3 months out and it doesn't add some features, then we have an issue.
  12. all words that suggest they are in favor of Dual spec rather than against it.
  13. Bioware agrees that Dual Spec should be in TOR, and they are implementing it in the very near future. Anyone against it can go pound sand for all I care. It was another feature that Bioware didn't have the time to integrate into the game before release. I think we will come to realize that there are quite a few features that will be coming in the near future that just weren't ready for launch. Someone was posting an interview around the boards, can't find it though.
  14. Oh, and Space Missions - as another thread pointed it out, would love to see free-form space sim. This would be a game changer. As of now, it's a flash game.
  15. I wouldn't care too much about reviews, especially from PC Gamer. I'll never forget when PC Gamer gave Hellgate London an 89/100...I liked the premise of Hellgate, but it was no where near being ready for launch when it did. It needed at the very least another 6 months in the oven.
  16. I'm digging TOR in a big way, but there are some glaring things I'd like to share for the record. If Bioware gets to most of these, I'll go from a somewhat happy customer to an extremely happy customer. - Instancing - No excuse for instances in an actual MMO, this needs to go away immediately. Other AAA MMO's don't resort to this. Having separate instances takes away from the Massively feel to the game. - Lack of an LFG Tool - at least make a server wide only tool or social window dedicated to LFG that works properly and efficiently. I don't see a reason for cross-server LFG, at least not until there is a massive tank shortage. Hopefully it doesn't come down to that and enough people enjoy all classes on each server to avoid this. - Lack of Dual Spec - This is unacceptable nowadays. I have a Sith Inquisitor, I'd like to heal with my guildies, but I'd also like to have DPS Lighting when solo'ing. I'm not rolling another Sith Inquisitor from scratch to do this. I'd rather spend that time rolling a killer BH. Make it happen BW. - Lack of a Proper working Auction House - this is another thing that leaves many people I talk too scratching their head. How can Bioware release a game with an AH where you have to select the category before searching? This is ridiculous. How about quick searching for items that you have in your inventory to get a sense of the market price? Not there either. This needs to get fixed asap. - Lack of a proper working UI/customization - This goes without explanation. The raid frame and buffs are too small, and it's impossible to see what your teammates debuffs are in order remove. Healing in this game is not nearly as fun as it should be. Simple tweaks like allowing us to adjust the size and place of the modules in the UI would go a LONG LONG way. - Lack of a Combat Log - If a DPS meter isn't going to be provided , at the very least give the community Combat Logs. - Extremely linear Questing - The lack of choice for leveling up and questing is somewhat disappointing. Unlike other MMO's, you only have one choice of planet to goto in order to level in your bracket range. Two planet choices would have gone a long long way to help with replay value/rolling alts. This is one of those things that I would have easily traded the voice acting for in turn for better and more plentiful environments to explore and quest through. In a few months from now, the voice acting for most of us will be as old as wacthing a movie 3 times within a short span. These resources could and should have gone to other aspects of the game imo. Bioware's production would still have been there regardless. Their writing and storytelling is the best in the business imo, and that's without voice acting. - Server side/Client Side casting bar - Ok, this is probably the biggest issue I have with TOR. Many times in combat my abilities (and many others apparently) don't fire off at all and there seems to be a disconnect between my casting bar and what is taking place on the screen. Same with animations. Many of the animations are not in sync or go out of sync on a regular occasion, making the gameplay feel off at times. This is not something I've seen before in other big budget MMO's. I'd put this one at the top of the list. And no, it's not my FIOS connection or brand new Rig I just built. My Ping is around 20 ms whenever I check, which is something I do on a regular basis. This is a server-client issue from what I can tell. Apparently, there are many other that are experiencing this as well from what I've read. Hopefully, it's just code that needs working on and not something inherently wrong with the engine/net code. I'm up on the air whether or not I'll be resubscribing past the included month. I like what Bioware has done, just curious to see how the endgame will play out, and if rolling alts stays fresh and fun. Cheers.
  17. The worlds are constantly transitioning with too many breaking points, absolutely. I see more loading screens in TOR than any other MMO I can think of in recent years. This is a minor complaint though. I think if they did away with the instancing, it would greatly benefit the game. With a heavy Que and server status of Full, the busy areas feel very empty. I know there are people around, but it's instanced which is a shame. This is probably my main complaint with the game. It feels as instanced as Hellgate, with constant tight corridors. I would have to agree on putting the heroics in-game, lots of them, and very fun when you can find someone to play with, but it's tough to group up for many of them. Finding people isn't the easiest right now. As for the 2+ heroics, I usually hang out by the area and ask and invite if soliciting in chat doesn't work. Unfortunately, if someone is in another instance, you can't see them. The way I see it, there's no excuse for the instancing at all. The good thing is, Bioware can control the instancing from what I've seen in interviews, lets hope it's phased out completely in the future. Overall, I'm pretty positive on the game, Bioware just has a lot of work in front of them.
  18. No, people want effectiveness and proven parts of formulas that are genre defining.
  19. We absolutely need dual spec. More fun please. Thanks.
  20. Congratulations on talking in circles. You're very preachy I must say, lol. I'm 34 years old and have been gaming since I was a kid. No need to explain commonalities. Starcraft borrows from Warhammer, yes, and Halo borrowed from Starcraft, the trilogy of races. Who cares, it's common knowledge to people in our mid/late 30's. Doesn't take away from one of the best developers we have on the planet. Mass Effect borrows heavily from Star Trek, who cares, It's fantastic. Dragon Age from LotR, etc. etc.
  21. Keep sheltering the kids, it's good for them. Being a child to a parent like you sounds depressing.
  22. God forbid, or spaghetti monster in the sky forbid, that seasoned players voice their opinion about the game! There are faults to this game, basic faults that need fixing. Vocalizing these does not imply that a person dislikes TOR or hates Bioware. Too much sensitivity from people who can't take criticism.
  23. First off, I'm enjoying TOR, but it's far from perfect. All aspects of the game should be brought forth, period. If people can't take the fact that this game has issues, I don't know what to say, maybe stop being so sensitive? Blizzard hasn't stole anything. They make games in genres like Bioware and other developers. Under your logic, every developer is stealing unless they create a genre. Nonsense. Blizzard has created some extremely impressive Lore in their major franchisee ie... Diablo, Starcraft and Warcaft. You would have to be an absolute fanboy not to acknowledge that love or hate. I love both companies, but Bioware is definitely more of a Console developer over the past few years since Mass Effect, and definitely Dragon Age 2 vs. the first one. I don't blame them since it's where the majority of non-mmo money is.
