  1. I have been trying to log into the PTS, but after clicking "play", I end up at the "select server" screen, where there are no servers to select. It's blank. This has been the case since yesterday. I have never logged into the PTS before, but I believe I have followed the directions correctly. The help request screen has a "subscribe now" button in the middle of it and nothing else, but I'm already a subscriber. Not sure what other info would help.
  2. Or if I win it on one character, can I give it to another? Seems like the rewards you buy are bound, and those you win aren't, but I want to make sure.
  3. Yeah, I found that out after posting this. I thought it was still 1213, or whatever it used to be.
  4. Okay, so I finally got full Thrysian for my deception Assassin. Problem: I've got about 1800 alacrity. That's just from the pieces that come with the set and nothing else, and that's without one of the implants I'd like to use, which also gives you alacrity. I don't see a way to reduce it unless I just go with at least one lower level piece of equipment. Am I missing something?
  5. There, that's what it should be called: "I'm not evil, honest!"
  6. If you don't know what it is, "That's Just Wrong!" is a legacy achievement on Tatooine, which you get by killing 100 jawas while the Party Jawa is flying around you. Because THAT'S a party! Doesn't it seem like there should be some hidden bonus for doing it with Blizz as your companion, though? I finished it recently, and only thought of that partway through. Finished it with Blizz (he didn't complain, but he was uncomfortable - you could tell), but what if I'd done all hundred Jawas with him?
  7. Ha. We should put that in the suggestion box. I've tried various ways of targeting friends and enemies - tabbing through them with a keybind often seems to miss the one I really want. Keybinding each ally is a good idea which I'm also going to try, although obviously in a 8v8 warzone that's probably too many. Yeah, I know tanks are also supposed to crowd control, but i often feel like I'm doing that randomly. No help for it though, I think, until that situational awareness keybind is put into the game.
  8. I'm trying to figure out the best way to use focus target, and target of target. Seems like the best way to go is to make my team's healer (or other teammate) my focus target. That way I can always use my modifier to swap guard to that person. Then, I try to pick the other team's best dps and make that person my target. That way, I can simply attack that player and still see who he's targeting, and if he switches, I target that teammate and swap guard to him. Problems: I have to reacquire my original target, which doesn't seem like much but given the chaotic nature of warzones - I have a lot of trouble keeping up with what's happening sometimes - it could at least cost me some time. Is that really the best way to do it, though? Unless there's a "focus target's target modifier" that i'm missing someplace, or a way to keybind switching your target and target-of-target, it's the best I can think of.
  9. I've only ever beaten all ten on my sin in tank spec. Some of the fights, controlling aggro is really important. But I've gotten Bowdaar on a bunch of characters by doing just what others have said in this thread. I want to say it took me 3 times through, completing round 5, and then maybe one more just getting through round 2 or 3 to accumulate enough affection to get Bowdaar. Just make sure you go back to the console and pick "i'm done fighting for now" before you leave the arena, otherwise it won't count.
  10. I find assassins more fun to play, but jugg tanks are total ******es in PVP right now. Really hard to kill.
  11. The really impossible part of this achievement for me is going to be gaining the social ranks. Unless there's been some change to that since I last gave it a shot. I don't want to run Black Talon or Esseles umpteen billion times.
  12. I know this sounds like boilerplate feel good crap, but really just play what you enjoy. Strike fighters kill better, scouts are faster, gunships plod but can really punch (and a good gunship pilot can really take over a game), bombers find a hole and skulk around in it the whole game. I was the guy dragging down his team for quite a while, but over time I got better and, while I'm never going to be the best player, I'm almost always an asset. It just takes time.
  13. Very, very good. Easy to navigate, nice big text, easy to read on my phone while I'm playing. I really appreciate this.
  14. Very, very good. Easy to navigate, nice big text, easy to read on my phone while I'm playing. I really appreciate this. EDIT: just read somebody's comment about Dulfy. My problem with Dulfy's guide is that when I look these things up, I'm using my phone and playing on my computer at the same time. I don't have a tablet or laptop right now. Dulfy's site is just not as good as yours for a smaller device like that.
  15. I have a question about this: How did the player see the person capping through a wall? Or did he see the capping, run behind a wall and then phase walk in? To me, that situation illustrates why phase walk is so much fun - you can do it, but you have to plan it out in advance. You can plan for that, and then maybe it works out, or maybe you never need it, which means you could have used your phase walk in some different way. I always tended to use it defensively, to keep from dying, which is probably the most boring way to use it.
  16. Tl;dr: is there a list of all existing guilds and who owns the names anywhere, or else how would you go about finding a guild if the name is taken and you'd like to join? So here's what happened: I don't know what put the idea into my head, but I suddenly wanted a character named Heinz Doofenschmirz. It's a character in a now-ended cartoon called Phineas and Ferb, which I only watched because my kids loved it I swear. Doof is a bumbling evil scientist type. So I made my very first sniper, tried to make it look like him, and was quite pleased to find the name was available. Had to buy a second walker for him to ride because the first one blew up because I put the self-destruct button on the bottom of its left foot, which turned out to be a mistake, even though you don't want to put it where one of your enemies can find it, right? Next step: I wanted to form a one-man guild called "Doofenschmirz Evil Inc." If you know the show, you've got that jingle playing in your head now, too. You're welcome. But when I managed to convince enough other players to help me... the name was already taken! All is well: I went with "The Tri-State Area" instead and am happy with it. I'm just really curious as to who owns Doofenschmirz Evil Inc, whether the guild is active, etc. Maybe I could have joined up, or bought it from that player if they weren't active with that character or something? There's probably something obvious I haven't tried but I already went over my usual (5 minute) limit on google searching, so: how would one go about finding that out?
  17. Ditto the guy who said Gele'ren. He was the twilek on Nar Shaddaa during the Bounty Hunter storyline who talked like a low level mob guy. I love that guy. The only conversations I will never space through, no matter how many times I play it. Anybody said Alilia from the Smuggler storyline yet? She was on Hoth. The ******* padawans you have to save from their own *******ery - one of the first optional quests you get on Tython. I could write a whole adventure around them.
  18. I play a lot of PVP and always forget about this ability. Should I be using it more? Also, I can't figure out what it means by "can be used while controlled." What's "controlled?" I know it doesn't mean mezzed or stunned, right?
  19. A human Sith Assassin named Emilliano, or something like that. Ah, the days when I had absolutely no idea what I was doing. How I miss them. This was back before the Rise of the Hutt Cartel, even. Top level was still 50. I lost the character when I changed my account for some reason and started to subscribe.
  20. Sith Warrior. The first time I played it, I almost jumped out of my chair and cheered at one point. Those of you who've played it probably know which part I'm thinking of (had to do with a companion who wasn't a companion yet), but I won't spoil it.
  21. Does the companion return console even work? I went looking for it a few times (that little room off the hallway leading to the smuggler bay, right?), and there was never anything to click on. It's been awhile though.
  22. If anybody's done significant protection, I usually vote for them because tanks need love, too. But in the node-style warzones like Hypergate or Civil War, I'll make a note of whoever's heading to the node to guard and try to remember to mvp them for it. Failing either of those, I do frequently look to see who got the most objective points.
