  2. That's not AP but Tactics, and it uses Rifle and not Pistol. The shock ability if not Flame Sweep by the way, the equivalent in Vanguard is called Explosive Surge which animation is perfect for a trooper.
  3. Stealth classes are stealth classes. Non stealth classes are non stealth classes. If it's all about skipping trash packs in FP then i really wanna say that in this game there are too much skipping paranoids, sometimes it really takes less time to kill those packs and go on.
  4. I'm one of those PT that would like to see also Flame Sweep animation reworked into something different, in other words erase flames completly from AP and leave flames only for Pyro. This is something that has acquired even more importance since 7.0 in my opinion, infact is now important to adapt some animations to the origin story lore. As a Mandalorian i'm ok with having flames attack but what if i'm an AP Trooper? Or an AP Smuggler? Is vry difficult to find in the star wars lore troopers elevating from the ground and spinning to spread flames around em, more likely never seen it anywhere. What if, instead, we make AP Troopers throwing little nades around them that explode with AOE instead of Flame Sweep animation? This is just an idea that i'm writing as it popped into my mind but there could be a lot of solutions. As for Pyrotech it indeed needs to be buffed seriously. In PVP i find it too weak if u consider the overall dps output and the whole combat style offensive and defensive kit. Lethality is way stronger but i admit i never parsed them.

  6. Yea i agree with that. Lighsabers too should be possible to choose the type of sound. But i think that for them there is less to choose compared to fire weapons. Anyway it should be availbale aswell imo.
  7. I think it could be nice if we add a new customizable aspect for fire wapons (rifles, blasters and cannons) that we can call the "Percussor", in order to change the sound of each weapon at ones pleasure. Some pistols are really good looking but got horrible sound. Think about it.
  8. Since 7.0 there are several ability animations that in my opinion need to be reworked but right now i wil focus on specific 2 from Gunslinger combast style. Recuperate and Surrender: they are both tied to the Smuggler idea of Gunslinger, right now they must become more neutral and not that much of scoundrel looking. From a long time i would like to make a trooper gunslinger but i always change my mind cuz i would have a trooper dressed like a bad ass soldier running around raising hands in sign of surrender with coins falling from his hands or from his pockets. Not to mention Recuperate: pretty strange to have a trooper or an Agent who swings a coin in the air and then hits it with the gun like in a spaghetti western. Animations for these two need to become moew adaptive for every origin story, at least if u ask me.
  9. I'm having the same problem since yesterday. I have to admit that, due to the fact that it say that is Searching for Upodates but there is no yello progress bar, i forced the closeing of the launcher every time. At this rate i've tried nearly everything so i'm ready to unistall/reinstall but i'll give a shot to your tip first and let it go for a while. If i let it patch will the thing be fixed for ever then?
  10. Yea i tried several times but still nothing. Months ago had another issue and made the change on Compatibility so it was already on Windows 8. I also already used the repair launcher utility but nothing. I'm goin to unistall the game and re-install.

Even if i'm one of the few that doesn't think we have been so severely nerfed in our DCD's, i'd like to see that instant Ambush to be a proc, not something tied to a tactical that forces me to use an escape/gap creator/kiting ability (Covered Escape) for offensive purposes in order to have that big Ambush instant. I wanna use my roll when i need it for defensive needs, not for dps. I've spoken
  14. I like all this tips for changes. Diversion should slow targets as baseline as it was once upon as utility choice. Insta ambush should be some kind of proc and not something that, for some aspects, forces player t sacrifice a covered escape using it for offensive purpose rather than for defensive, it's stupid.
  15. I played Sniper and Gunslinger a lot of my time since 2012 even if i never mained it (my main always been Vanguard). A week ago i decided to make Sniper my second main combat style and created a Vanguard/SAniper trooper. So all i want now is to definitely become good at this class because i love it the same way i always loved Vanguard. Is like i have fun in playing only difficult classes. That said, during this last week, i had the chance to experiment deeply all the changes to the Markmanship spec, and i honestly don't understand why there is so much complaining about its defensives: 1 - back in the days Countermeasures and Evasion were different abilities, with proper set bonus you could have the tool of finishing the cooldown on Covered Escape by activating Evasion, this utility is now part of countermeasures passive from ability tree. That's interesting because you have to choose when u need it to run faster to avoid an impossible fight or run to an objective or kite, rather then activating Countermeasures to gain the 200% defense chance. More trivial than it used to be. Oh and this way you can have your Covered escape cooldown reset, which is something available only on set bonus pre 7.0. 2 - I always pick the self heal choice in pvp, that gives you a 3% every 2 seconds is way more than in previous pacthes. Sometimes when i got hit by a Demolish and have like 20% hp and i have multi dots ticking on me i escape to stay in cover with a warzone adrenal waiting for the effect to vanish, and that self heal really helps a lot. 3 - Sniper/slingers have the strongest pushback in the game in my opinion, but with the proper utility from ability tree you can make penetrating blast a very useful pushback too aswell, especially if used twice with sniper vollety it really helpz out a lot against melee classes: yesterday i 1vs1 a couple of juggs and won thanks to this trick. With all CD's availbale you can have in other words 3 pushbacks and circle between them as they one by one come off from CD. 4 - Entrench is pretty much the same thing as it used to. Pre 7.0 i used to pick the Seek Cover utility but now i prefer to boost my shield probe. Entrench is something really big: in my gamestyle i always have it up because it lasts 23 seconds: as a fight starts in regular warzones it takes in average from 3 to 7 seconds for opponents to realize that you are freecasting. In a matter of seconds you have alqays hav the 99% of chance to get globalled so is always good to have Entrench on and avoid stunlock. 45 seconds cd minus 23 seconds of effect means you always have to calculate 22 seconds where you are vulnerable to stuns, that changes a lot. Plus the AOE dr, is probably your best defensive togheter with evasion. 5 - Divrersion is a great ability and we all know about it: is a pity that it doesn't have any other feature like in the past. Id'l like to see it slow targets by a certain percentage. Talking about slows and roots, my personal tip is to spam Leg Shot when facing melee or avoid ranged to use LOS. In this sense i love that penetrating blast root target for the duration, very useful as said before. 6 - Suppressive fire should finish the cooldown on Followthrough and make it deal splash damage as baseline, since that Markmanship has the worst AOE: i know it's not an AOE spec like Engi and i know that Suppressive fire is already OP, but hell, why not? So in the end what is this lack of defensives whining all about? In the end all you really lost in pvp is Ballistic Shield, long long cooldown for 20 seconds of DR and some self heal, you can get over with it in my opinion. The class has stil a lot to offer if played properly and if u don't try to get the kill at any cost and know where to stay in the map. Run if things get hard, just run away. So far i'm learning that is better to die running away from 3 maras against me rather than dying because i try to survive vs 3 maras just to kill one of them, you are not a PT/VG. My humble tribute to the discussion.
  16. That's how Solo Ranked PVP mode should be named in this game. I'm a Tactics/Plasmatech VG since launch, i'll never change that cuz it's my class and i play only what ilike, that's why i don't like the concept of META classes and spec. How non stealth-classes are supposed to have success in such a scenario? Had several solo ranked matches yesterday and was just a stealth party with and against me. Is not that i want to win every match of course, but seems also that on being an Operative, a Fury Mara with Defel or a Sin is also the only way to HAVE FUN in solo ranked, even if you loose a match which is something that can occur. Teammates are important to help you survive, and most of last day matches played there were few tanks and healers, but ther are aspects in class balance that are way beyond the team effort and are enough to decide the fate of a match. Most of the specs, now Combat Styles, in their ability trees have to make tough choices. Please, have a look to Operatives passives/actives choices for Concealment and Lethality, A TOTAL JOKE! Iìll always stick to my class and always try my best to be effective as much as i can, but hell... Why Devs keep doing the same mistakes over and over for PVP?
  17. I play PVP only and when 7.0 became live i started some PVE for getting the habit with the new combat style system ecc, so i farmed some pve gear. Bad mistake. It's very annoying to grind for PVP Thyrsian gear when already equipping PVE gear because you have to spend a lot of commendations for 316 and 318 gear before replacing pieces in your gear tab. Better to start from the begginning, 306 gear equipped and then weekly after weekly buy and upgrade Thyrsian gear. Honestly is from 2013 that i was waiting for a non moddable gera system for pvp and now i have what i was looking for. Stats are locked so it takes a few to min max for alacrity and accuracy, rest in critical is how i'm building atm. Tomorrow i should be able to have my full 326 Thyrsian gear and i will start to farm Tech Frags like hell for augments (right now i'm using purple ones), so it might require a week or two of full pve contents play, at least for me considering how much time i spend online.
  18. Never in life. Explosive Surge is cool instead, and Fle Sweep too ofc. What they really should plan to do in further adjustement of 7.0 is to adapt some abilities to the Origin Class. If i'm a trooper, and i wanna play as PT because i like to have a single pistol, why do i have to use flame sweep, burst, flamethrower? Then i'm just playing a powertech dressed like a trooper. And Deadly Onslaught?...man...
  19. I'm rolling a PT Trooper but since 7.0 has been announced I always felt skeptical because, in the end, is just a Powertech dressed like a trooper and this thing hurt me a lot. In all the Star Wars Lore is impossible to find troopers using fame attacks or something similar to Deadly Onsalught or Carbonize. This is my opinion, then I can get over with other abilities like Magnetic Blast or Energy Burst, which can still have a sense in se situations but other abilities are still too much bounty hunter like, but this is the only way to have a single pistol on a trooper.

Anyway, help me out understand one thing as far as you guys know: pvp vendors in fleet sells pvp gear and is clear, in the degree that you can buy gear with the commendations coming from pvp tokens and pvp weeklies. Clear. How will you guys manage to reach stats breakpoints with such gear? I've read that in further patches some moddable gear will come but will drop only from operations, is that correct? If that's so, will the pvp IR still be capped at 326 making useless to farm these moddable stuff? I play pvp only, and I would hate to be forced to play pve to be more competitive. Thank you in advance.
  22. Devs you really need to read forums and understand what's going on in your game. Always had the opinion that at every expansion people tend to whine too much about nothing, this time i agree with every single word i read in every forum section, and there is a 100% consensus around about how bad this 7.0 is. Reverse to 6.0 and bring new content in, re-organize pvp mode gamewide, new flashpoints, operations ecc: that would be cool. Also combat-styles why not, as long as you don't cut ability off and adapt disciplines animations to origin class. The list of good things to do in this game can be long for kilometers, just do something for the game and for Star Wars.

I'll make a list, probably most of these things have been already reported so i'll just give my tribute to the thing since, this time, i have to admit that is really bad and i want the game to be back enough healty to pe playable 1) Endless loading screen, on my machine it took 20/30/40 minutes on several log in attempts to enter the server and select character. I noticed that devs already solved this, still have to try. 2) On my machine, using the 1024X768 resolution, my character doesn't appear in the character preview of the character sheet. I'd really like to buy a better PC to run the game with higher resolution but that's not the point. If i raise my resolution to top then my character appear in the char sheet window, otherwise they have all empty space in the middle (all the tabs or the character sheet) 3) Quickbars are messy and strange. I've lost quickbar 6 (or maybe not and you removed it) and quickbar 5 is hidden and i can access it with quickbar page switch: so far so good. Quickbar 4 btw, even if is enabled in my interface editor and have abilities keybinded on it, also appear to be hidden in the quickbar page switch. Curious. 4) Combat styles ability tree has those clickable abilities in it, so that i can choose my passives ecc. The selection square, at least on my machine with 1024X768 resolution, appears to be too much thiny and similar to the others so itìs nearly impossible and eyes hurting to recognize where the square is placed. I think it should be re-designed 5) New UI is terrible, sorry devs but really, i've never complained or polemized but this time i really can't see your point. Colors and contrast is the main issue imo, afcter 5 minutes i have to take away my eyes from the screen to let them rest 5 minutes, thing that is not happening while playing a warzone or a flashpoint and i don't usually suffer from eyes problems. I think that you would solve 80% of the problems if u leave all the new tabs and UI elements but bring back the old UI aesthetics. Last point is my personal opinion on combat styles: i was very excited about a lot of things about it, like having a double class on my toon, finally playing with different weapons and so on. I know that we are still at the beginning of this new era for swtor and that all the bugs and stuffs (at least the big ones, i hope) will be fixed in upcoming weeks, but really, don't tell me that all i have now is the chsnce to have a Powertech dressed like a trooper. Abilities from different combat styles MUST be adapted to the origin class, this is the way and there is no other way. In my opinion, since i play PVP only, is too early to state how new abilities and class changes will impact on my favourite content, i have to play a bit more b4 having an idea, so for now i'll stay on the surface of the thing. Re-work and re-design disciplines to better fit the origin story, is all about animations, you do have the resources to do that. I know you will come up with a solution for all the big bugs around and problems people is having on many aspects, just don't think that people can wait on certain types of problems. The portion of unhappy and frustrated players with things that, sorry to say, should be easy for you to solve, is way too big at the moment. I'm the type of guy who think that i can stay with server closed for 3/4 days if then i have a functioning game, at least of those vital elements that have to work properly. Don't let people wait for future patches to see things fixed just to leave people encountering less problems happy and playing.
