  1. This would be WHY I always run an alt: to see what happens and to enjoy everything that my socials just can't get around to- so, at least SOMEBODY agrees with me at least in that respect.... um... sorry but gotta differ on the idea of taking years to get anywhere for your toon. Look, no offense to your style of gameplay but frankly? I have ENOUGH problems with carving out time in the day for chores WITHOUT having to add spending about $20 a month just to log in and have to perform an electronic version as well.... Just not fun imho but, it's cool that you think so. Frankly? I kind of want to see a little improvement for my time and effort- but that's just me. (hugs)
  2. Oh dude! Soooo sorry! Crew skills seem to be ENTIRELY INDEPENDENT OF YOUR LEVEL!!!!! Ex: Artifice/Archeology/ Treasure Hunting.... a nice, classic- even RECOMMENDED combo....... But atm I am running a level 35 who- (at least when it come to treasure hunting) has to send her companions off on level 48-50 missions in order to increase my level of treasure hunting- and, yet, has to send my companions out on level 3 (25-30) Archeology missions in order to gain points on that Artifice at the same time.... See, it turns out that sending your peeps out on a bunch of Companion Gifts/Lockbox mishes... well, that's all GREAT for the "wallet" (credits) and- if properly played- nice for the affection, but.... Point-wise? Those missions ONLY have a certain amount for so long! So, not only can you "outlevel" your OWN missions with your crafting but, also, you CAN outlevel your gathering from your crafting as well if you're not paying attention..... So, net result? Your Companions just AIN'T YOU!!!!
  3. +1 on THAT one.... Sometimes something will take say- 3 lvl 3 whatever but then there's this ONE lvl 4 required for the "recipe"- easy to miss unless you're reading EVERYTHING.... The OTHER possibility is something that- well, apparently my dearest had to learn the "hard way" simply because I didn't think that I HAD to point out was- well.... have you been BACK to the artificer on the Fleet Station lately?.... the reason being is that you HAVE to "buy up" your crew's Artifice level just like you "buy up" your own level for- well, whatever. In other words- if YOU re leveling, than, it only makes SENSE that your CREW hast to "level" as well and, their rate just isn't yours.... (I personally, just go by the "Crew Skills" section and stop in whenever I see that green "+" under the icon over their head... Anyway, point is that- ... well... you're "companion-levels" seem to be completely and entirely SEPARATE from you- ( you really DO have to "level" them separately and WORSE, there's really only a couple places you can do it- like the Fleet or- so far as I know and can discover- one guy on Alderaan...)
  4. Actually, while I haven't done ALL of the SI quite yet- I HAVE noticed a couple of things about that: The "Over-powering" fights SEEM to be just as much strategy oriented as luck- meaning: No, we are NOT "smoking crack" (being a moron) for having trouble getting past those fights- it's just that those fights require a certain and specific strategy that we just don't know and, as a result- we MAY luck into doing them unconsciously... or not- because, in at least one case- it's so out-of-the-freaking-box that the box itself?... Can probably be located in that backwater system several SECTORS over.... Sadly, after having to search for a solution for the beloved over a similar problem with his SW that ended with him winning by following the advice: "Dude! Run the ******* Sith away when that crud's going to hit!")... I'm starting to think that there's probably at least one like that for every class. Dark Side? You ARE correct, that is total, unmitigated, and unfiltered BS! And given that we're basically the "early adopters," (meaning we waited to jump on board AFTER the "trial runs" but DURING the "shakedown cruise") our finding step-by-step solutions already posted is a touch difficult. But.... Light Side? Well... Two-fold: 1) The step-by-steps HAVEN'T been written, so that means that WE get to be the ones that put them out there into the world for everyone. This means that TONS of unknown people searching for help will come across US and what WE have found- and that will actually probably stay relevant for quite some time. So, we get the rare chance of actually HELPING fellow gamers instead of RELYING ON IT for a change! 2) No two people think "alike all the time!" I have to be honest with myself. If I HAD some COMPLETELY easy-peasy game- I would probably be extraordinarily bored with it within a few hours... Couple this with the fact that NO ONE thinks EXACTLY like everyone else ALL THE TIME and... well... there's just BOUND to be some point SOMEWHERE when they zigged left whereas I'm zagging right... Do sometimes, I think that most of us are Zagging? Oh, Great Sithian Skies Afire YES!!!!!!... But... maybe they didn't know or they didn't notice-... Whatever the reason, it's gotten to the point now where the alpha and beta testers and pre-orders have either already figured all of this fragging stuff out already and just haven't gotten around to writing it- or, they're still figuring it out themselves. Either way? I'm just "playing it" like I have to "play" a "thinking class" in RL about my chosen game. Can't claim TOTAL success but... so far, it's working.
  5. No Sith, Skylock! I mean, I can understand the whole: you-have-to-buy-them-off-with-toys thing and all but why is it that EVERYTHING is HALVED with her if you're playing the "wrong" sex?!!! Whiskey. Tango. Foxtrot!!!! This is the same company that keeps talking about things being accessible for minorities? I mean, don't get me wrong, I think it's GREAT that they're putting in stuff for the LBGT community but, how did this obviously anti-woman BS get past their common sense check? Obviously, not too many women or married men over at Bioware can be my only thought.
  6. Actually, I haven't seemed to find any mention of it- but that seems to be an inherent problem of MMO's period: XP always seems to flow far too quick for social mavens and far too slow for people who want to just take their time and enjoy the content- which is usually a solo venture. Needless to say that the only solution that I was able to come up with is to just run alts- one "social" toon for teaming with friends/family/whoever on a well-populated server and another "solo" toon on some quiet backwater where no one can bother me and I can take my time and explore. And, frankly? Given that I have yet to play ANY RPG of ANY kind both on and off- line that isn't filled with WAY more content than can be experienced in a single go (and I would be rapidly bored with any game that ever WAS that easy)... I'm okay with that solution for myself. I mean, that's just the way that it is. My solos are ALWAYS going to be struggling to finish the class missions even with grinding out just about every random mob that I encounter and my socials are ALWAYS going to blink by all of that cool content that I would hate to miss if it wasn't for my solos. Point IS that: Groups just ALWAYS burn through the XP faster- even WITHOUT bonuses: they have more missions/quests to complete and always complete them faster. That's just the way it is-. IT IS WHAT IT IS... You know, this IS in fact, WHY humans are social creatures: because we can do more and better in a group than we can on our own. And game developers may indeed create the worlds that we play in- but... well, NO amount of coding can change reality. So, frankly? I don't think that there IS a solution for Over/Under leveling except maybe trying to balance it out as much as you can or, do what I did and just make two.
  7. Acutally, I have the solution- confirmed to the point of just doing it in point of fact. Step 1) Shield Khem (to buy yourself some time to move) and send him on the attack. Step 2) RUN AWAY!!!! NOTE: DO NOT run up the ramp/stairs/whatever though! Just run to the edge of the room away from the desk. Step 3) Watch Khem die. (Sucks I know- but the next step is going to hurt even worse...) Step 4) Once Khem's down, Paladius will come come across the room after you- LET HIM! Let him also KILL YOU! NOTE: The REASON is that, once he kills you, he will go BACK across the room to the desk and kneel down to "meditate" or whatever. This means that you can summon the droid to revive you without aggroing him AND seethe up WITHOUT THE DEBUFFS THAT WERE CRIPPLING YOU BEFORE!!!!! Step 5) "Respawn" in the same place, heal and buff up because you finally CAN. NOTE: It's confirmed that you actually leave the debuffs behind after your death but ONLY if you don't leave the area by going to the medbay! Step 6) KICK HIS SORRY *****!!!!!
  8. Actually, sorry to those who mention the "saber-strike" in order to regain your force-capabilities but... Therein lays my frustration and anger: IT DOES NOT WORK!!!!! I mean, look, I understand that my first intro here onto these forums was not precisely the most graceful- nor seemingly intelligent but- please, do, try to give me a LITTLE credit here! Would I honestly be bothering folks over something that 15 minutes with google could solve? I have been searching and researching this issue for nearly a WEEK now and every single, supposed "solution" and "strategy" has FAILED. But, that doesn't matter though because I DO have some good news- Thanks EVERYONE for your help but, I finally found the solution. Apparently, this mission is a bit of a problem for ANYONE- and (not surprisingly) because, the trick is that you HAVE TO DIE IN THE RIGHT LOCATION AND IN THE RIGHT WAY!!! (Proving all of those supposed "solutions" and "strategies" to be entirely bogus!) See, as I found out, the trick is that first off, you have to get killed. And, just getting killed isn't ENOUGH apparently. No- oh no...No, you have to do so in a place where you can summon the medical droids to respawn you in a place where you can actually heal up WITHOUT the Boss standing right on top of you. Which means, running AWAY from the fight at first- but not sooo much that you can't get killed "properly." A random comment from someone on one of the threads about this precise problem put me onto it- he mentioned that there was a "bug" that made it so that the crippling debuffs don't work anymore if you get killed. To be honest, it took me a couple more faceplants to get desperate enough to try "respawning" when I was far enough away from him instead of just going to the medi-bay but, that seems to be the trick because if you choose the second option- you start getting drained of any and all abilities the second you walk in the door. Meanwhile- of course! Getting killed too close to the guy gets you deader-than-a-door-nail the second you revive.... Frankly? Dozens of kudos to the person who mentioned that "bug"- and about 1,000 brownie points deducted from the morons that actually thought that this would be something that folks would/can even REMOTELY "get" at any point without some SERIOUS freaking help! But... Light Side? At least I got to hear from all of you wonderful people despite my not being at my best- (read: spitting teeth mad which flatters NO ONE- ) Dark Side? I am SO calling "BS" on that mish! I mean, if it's sooo bad that entire THREADS are devoted to it? You're doing something wrong. Sorry sirs, but it should NOT take over a WEEK of costly trial-and-error as well as research just to get past a single fight! Back to Light? Again. I am really and seriously and honestly and truly impressed with the kindness and support o the gamers around here. Thank you so much and... You couldn't even probably COUNT the brownie points there!
  9. Okay. Found the search button. That issue is solved. Sorry about that and thanks to everyone because I have been looking off-and-on for that for a few days now (probably was unable to find it due to already being upset over the real issue which I have been researching for far longer than should have been necessary). Now, onto the frustration. I am overleveled for the quest so, technically- in any other game, this fight should be completely doable BUT..... I got no powers during the fight. No powers means: No attacks. No defenses. No way to beat this guy. Worse. I can't get my powers back which drops me to an entire two saber attacks and no defenses whatsoever. So, I am getting my butt kicked every. single. time. Normally? A few face-plants is hardly something to quibble over but TWELVE? Really? Come on! Now. I've googled it and all the walkthroughs and advice that I have found have stated that you're supposed to be able to get your abilities (meaning attacks and defense) back once you hit Paladius with saber-strike but that is just NOT happening. This means that even WITH my companion and me standing toe-to-to with the guy and whacking away with my whole two lightsaber hits- the best I can get him down to is about three-quarters right before I die. So. It's the last quest on Balmorra. I have cleared absolutely everything else. It's also my class quest. I can't go anywhere else until this quest is done. So. I canNOT get anywhere- or do anything until this fight is done. And. I can't do it. So. What's the trick? Where's the catch? Because, right now, the only solution that I can see is spamming the general chat channels and waiting around for some random person to help me and while- granted, eventually, given enough weeks or months or even years, someone somewhere is bound to have the time and the kindness- I kind of thought that I wouldn't have to do that in order to continue enjoying this game. I mean, did I just pick the wrong class or the wrong server or something? Because, everything seemed to be alright up until this quest which has brought this entire game to a screeching halt for me- and, not surprisingly, I'm just not seeing why this is supposed to be the norm. Again. I am supper sorry to everyone because of all of this but, frankly, I just don't understand what in the heck is going on here and why it is that I even have to be bothering anyone over all of this anyway! This is a GAME! You are supposed to play it and enjoy it and NOT have to be banging your head against a brick wall while simultaneously bothering tons of nice people for help! (Last note: From what I've seen the community here is super-awesome too btw. I honestly think that I have yet to meet someone here who ISN'T nice. )
  10. Firstly: I have been absolutely LOVING this game so far (current issue notwhistanding) Secondly: No search button for the forums? Really? BEYOND nuts because this means that I have to bother all of you nice people just for a simple issue. Third: PALADIUS. Whiskey. Tango. Foxtrot. ? Do I REALLY have to wait for some random stranger just to get past a class mission?.... Really? Worst part is that every "walkthrough" I've encountered thusfar is completely erroneous. I mean, the advice of "hit him with saber strike to get your force points back" just DOES NOT WORK. I have face planted no less than 12 TIMES and, I am sick of this. Is THIS what I have been paying for? Really? Honestly? Look. I am all for being social and gaming with others but, there ARE some times that I want to just be able to play just for me and, further, I don't always HAVE others to turn to- (a sum total of four people were on the server the last four attempts)... How can I possibly play ANYTHING if I can't advance? And, honestly, this is seriously getting me to wondering why I'm even bothering to spend money on this frustration... So. What do I do? Where do I go? What do I have to have that I can actually, reasonably gain? I mean, as things stand, the mission is listed as a level 23 and I'm sitting at 25. Where in the heck am I going to go? What can I even do? What don't I know that I'm supposed to here? Again. I'm super sorry to bother everyone but frankly? I am at the end of a completely frayed rope here and I've got nowhere else to go.
