  1. That's also similar to the model for the level 40 PVP set (it doesn't have PVP stats, it's orange levelling gear as it's lowbie.) You can buy it at the vendor in the cantina on Coruscant for warzone comms, in 2 colour variants.
  2. This. 8 person ops are significantly harder than 16 person, and more importantly everyone has to do their job as there is far less leeway to carry underperforming players. I think they should drop the same amount of comms, so there is no active disincentive to doing them.
  3. Oh, get over yourself. They're not doing you any harm, it's not as if they can steal your mobs once you've tagged them.
  4. That's the thing, I'm used to space combat games that ARE a bit more realistic so I find this really counter-intuitive. Don't get me wrong, it's still fun, but it feels really arcade-y and I can't see it holding my interest.
  5. Why do I slow down when I take my finger off my booster when I'm in hard vacuum?
  6. Let me see... someone running a hugely unprofitable business that nonetheless always seems to have an endless supply of cash... when that happens in the real world we call it "money laundering". It could just be someone messing with the markets for fun though - there are plenty of players with hundreds of millions of credits out there. I've also seen market wars over personal grudges. When the level 50 black-* crystal schematics became learnable, 2 crafters on The Red Eclipse got into a feud and started an undercutting war that lasted literally weeks and must have lost them both a fortune, selling crystals for 20K or even less when mat costs were significantly higher. I can't complain though, it's how I learned all the schematics cheaply
  7. I am not hating on it. I'm trying to be helpful. It's really bad, and using it will lead you up the garden path. Its faults have been discussed at length on these forums and on the individual class forums. We have many, many knowledgeable people here on swtor.com (I don't consider myself one of them - I'm just a peon) and by far and away the best, most up-to-date information is right here.
  8. Noxxic is absolutely dreadful, full of inaccuracies. Ignore this suggestion. You want help with your class, I strongly suggest the class-specific forums right here on swtor.com
  9. They're great PVP tanks. A grapple and a leap, group debuffs, stealth detection AND ranged multi-target attacks to stop caps? Yes please! Love playing my PT in Huttball especially.
  10. Yeah, I'm with you there. There should be more cosmetic items for valour, as it stands there's very little between the basic titles and the high-end ranked stuff. Pets or emotes would be nice.
  11. Colour crystals sell for crazy credits on GTN, at least on TRE. If you think they're worthless, you haven't checked the going rates lately! Try the Belsavis Bonus Series area if you feel like farming. Plenty of archaeology nodes, and you also have a chance of netting Perfect Upari Crystals.
  12. Focus gets big number on the scoreboard but Vigilance is pure single-target DPS, with dots, debuffs and a good chunk of survivability for good measure. Hmm I haven't played my Vig Guardian in PVP for a while... *cackle*
  13. Yeah, they want to cap because it gets them points, but they don't want to defend. It's infuriating when you see 2-3 people head to the pylon, so you go mid and do whatever you need to do, and next thing you know you've lost your pylon because no-one wanted to stay. AAAARGHGHGHG!
  14. I've actually got my tanksin in pure tank gear. Have you tried it?
  15. Indeed, factor in their low-force-cost bubble plus low-force-cost AOE and they make great guards.
  16. Tank Powertechs and Vanguards are the best node guards bar none, in my opinion.
  17. Yeah? I've lost count of the times I've been the only healer in a group, and everyone's ran away and left me at a node, and even when I type in ops chat "I am heals someone come defend here if you want me healing at mid" no-one comes. Stupidity abounds on all sides.
  18. Ha! You'll always get idiots who'd rather blame someone else's play or gear than improve their own skills. It's why, when I pug as a tank, I can't help but feel a teeny bit suspicious whenever I join a FP half way through! (And yes, I know it's unfair but there have been a few times we get to the next pull and go, "oh, so that's why the last tank quit!") OP: Your stats are skewed. You need less endurance, more shield and DEFINITELY a lot more absorb. Even an unmodified Campaign Survivor set bought with Classic Comms should be better optimised than that. Also be aware that it's a very different tanking style to Guardian or Vanguard, and a very different play style to Shadow DPS. My BF is an amazing tank on his Jugg but has struggled recently trying to convert a Sin to a tank. He knows the encounters, he knows how to tank and what to do, he knows how to play a Deception Sin but...
  19. You know the green versions drop from seeker droid digs? And can be RE'd for schematics?
  20. Yeah if I had to guess I'd say they were either trying to get a specific person in, or they were trying to avoid getting a specific class in. Some people are weird that way.
  21. I've been running lots of UT missions, and happy as I am to see new Armormech and Synthweaving schematics, why are they all for gloves / gauntlets? Anyone else had this?
  22. Oh goodness. This is almost the opposite of the advice I would give. Firstly, don't bother boosting crit. You upskill both force crit and main stat as a Sorcerer and you will never be short of it even in Columi gear. If anything you'll soon find yourself wanting to reduce your crit in order to make room for more power. It's actually very easy to get a buffed critical % of over 40% without even trying. More than 40% is absolutely a waste. At 40%, your Recklessness will boost your critical chance by another 60% giving a guaranteed crit for when you need the big heals, and you are better served by stacking power and alacrity. Alacrity soon caps out in terms of increasing your HPS, but it massively increases your ability to burst heal and thus your responsiveness and versatility. Secondly, don't bother bubbling anyone who's not taking direct damage. Save your Static Barrier for burst phases and for the tanks if appropriate. DPS are supposed to avoid damage and manage their own aggro, if they do their job properly it will make yours a lot easier. I'll use my bubble on trash pulls where I know force management isn't going to be an issue for convenience, but very sparingly on trickier fights. Secondly your HOT is rubbish as a Sorcerer. The most useful function of Resurgence is to bring on Force Bending. If you've saved your bubble you can whack that on after a damage spike and that will buy you the time you need. If not, Innervate does the job of buying a little time very nicely. Finally force management is the key for end-game PVE. Ops bosses are much longer fights than you will typically encounter in a PVP setting - 5 to 15 minutes - and poor force management is what will let you down every time. Use Resurgence / Innervate / Consumption as part of your regular rotation to top up your force, even if you end up healing yourself or someone who does not need healing. Don't wait until your force is low, start using it at about 60% so you have reserves for unexpected circumstances. Save your Revification for clustered party members (e.g. a ranged DPS group or melee surrounding a boss) and avoid using it at all on single targets or in fights which are very mobile. Be parsimonious, and don't put up with DPS taking massive damage through sheer laziness and incompetence and expecting you to pull them through. Make sure your ops leader keeps them in line!
  23. Yeah, just use the title you think sounds coolest or funniest. It's a nice perk. I think I still have "The Outlaw" on my Scoundrel even at end game just because I like it. I'm sure there'll be new titles coming in 2.0, just like TFB brought Red Rhombus and Dreadtooth brought Drouk Hunter.
  24. Bah. I've decided I can't be doing with pug flashpoints at low levels any more because of Hammer Station. I'm levelling a Sage. Bear in mind this is a Chiss Sage in properly optimised and augmented level-appropriate blue mods so well able to cope with the content. I go in, first group I mark CC on an elite and CC. A DPS jumps on my CC, the Vanguard tank doesn't have a clue how to pull threat, we wipe. I get told to "concentrate on healing from now on". We wipe on the first boss because the DPS are fannying about rather than burning down the boss. I run out of energy keeping them alive because I do not yet have my Noble Sacrifice and they're being damned stupid. We wipe. Tank leaves. I get blamed. Group falls apart. I do ops on my Sorc healer. I have a Vanguard tank myself. I know how to play these classes! Life is too short to pug. Stupidity, not knowing the content or not knowing their class I can tolerate. Being a git and blaming other people I can't.
  25. Maybe on your server, but my guild is absolutely stuffed with agents. My "main" is a lethality sniper DPS, and we've been known to run guild ops with 4 or 5 snipers and operatives in a group of 8. To confirm, I saw the identical Xenotech Enforcer's chestpiece drop at the end of SM False Emperor for me last week. You wouldn't be able to solo this on an operative - Malgus needs two knockbacks to get thrown off the bridge - but you could certainly 2-man it with a sniper friend for a guaranteed drop.
