  1. You are talking about midweek maintenance that occurs during the daytime here. So, again, on a Friday night? Peak time? Don't matter, my sub's now cancelled as it's a waste of time paying to play a game when the few hours I can play are not available. This is/was my last post. Have fun.
  2. As was pointed out, the games you listed are not A list, probably scr.aping* to hit the B list. The A list games will only do Friday night primetime maintenance IF it's a really game-breaking bug. The indication from the patch notes for Thursday night shows just how far BW have strayed from this basic best practice in professional Change Management as defined by the various ISO and ITIL standards. I am sure we can mostly accept Tuesday nights being lost. I am sure a lesser but still significant number can accept 2 weeknight outages, Friday nights though should be sacrosanct unless it's the most serious bug imaginable, in which case bring the servers down immediately. *seriously; scr.aping is a censored word?
  3. We generally don't see (and I say this with almost a decades MMO playing) the A list games performing maintenance at 5pm on a Friday night unless it's demonstrably critical. 5pm Friday night as a start of maintenance should only be able to be justified for real game breaking bugs, not the sort of junk we saw put in during last night's messup on-off-on-wrong time maintenance. Junk that could have waited until Tuesday. Aussies accept we will get maintenance during our time, but I feel I deserve the respect to make the outage mean something and not for a severity 4 cosmetic issue.
  4. Losing a Friday night, maintenance starting at 5pm Friday is unacceptable and dangerous. Best practice in change management suggests that making a change serious enough on Friday leaves the business at risk over the weekend. It's generally not done in a professional situation unless there is absolute need. Thursday night's change according to the patch notes was minor, it could have waited until Tuesday. I am going to lay bets that tonight's 5pm start maintenance will be just as minor and certainly not important enough to take away the ability to play the game on a Friday night. As this game is now proven to be constantly unavailable at the few times a week I can play it I've unsubscribed. A little annoyed that I've paid on the 21st but my exiting reason I hope adds to the voice of others doing the same. With my maximum level toon being only level 42 I simply don't have that much invested in this game to bother putting up with it any more. Have fun guys, good luck in your MMO travels.
  5. People who can't afford to pay $15 a month are not going to be able to coherently write a bug report. All we would see is a bunch of useless complaints about the aesthetics of the Project animation and no real bug fixing. As a QA professional all that needs to be done is for BW-QA to start following a best practice release methodology and to actually improve their triage so that a disruption to a Friday night at 5pm is reserved only for the most serious bugs. And by serious I mean to the level of ones that would delete a character. Friday night-Monday morning playtime should be effectively sacrosanct.
  6. Three nights this week, starting at 5pm including a Friday night? The changes last night from 5pm not really serious or game-breaking? Is it acceptable to do any non-critical maintenance on a Friday night?
  7. I know the calmness I had earlier in the thread was shattered when I got home from work and saw that during my tram trip they put maintenance back up after taking it down to read the patch notes to see it was a change that could have waited. The change was honestly not important enough to push out during unscheduled prime time. I need to meditate it seems, now we have the addition of maintenance for a Friday night and it is making my blood pressure rise. The patch note had better contain something really game breaking is all I can think to disrupt a Friday night. Hopefully my next post will be back to one of calm placation, but seeing Friday night of all nights is lost has made me a little too upset for my liking.
  8. Do you have anything constructive to say, some realisation of the burden Oceania is taking on since March with 5pm to 11pm outages? Or move maintenance for a few weeks until 9am CST and see the number of howler-monkeys then?
  9. The two minor fixes last night were certainly not game-stopping and nothing that mattered or that a relog couldn't fix. They could have waited until Tuesday instead of so disrupting so many players 5pm to 10pm play time. I will be looking at the patch-notes for tonight's outage, Friday 5pm to 11pm outage with great interest.
  10. With all the time lost after 1.,2 and now this time lost including the messup with on-off-on again maintenance messing up so many plans, and now tonight again... Yes. The good-faith offer of a months free time to the Oceanic players bearing most of the burden would be appreciated. Not demanded of course, but if BW had compassion it would be appreciated.
  11. Really, you have not seen other games say sorry? When I played EQ2 just before coming here we gained a lot from botched patches. Free time, double XP, other gifts. Surely Sony are not unique in the world? Come to think of it, they aren't. When I played Fallen Earth they said sorry for botched patches too. Gifts in the mail, F2P shop credits and other such displays. I guess there will be more games too where the companies respect their players. However, it's moot. The unscheduled maintenance was called off.
  12. You are right, it's not said enough. 33ms pings are amazing when you've spent the best part of a decade playing at 250ms-360ms. Thanks for the Oceanic servers BW.
  13. As a person who has played tanks and healers almost exclusively for many years and who as a person who is now casual but used to raid: It won't fix the issue. The issue is one of PUG players abusing tanks/healers for no good reason. Bribes to those to be abused won't change the base attitude of the remaining players. If BW could magically make players behave and be respectful to the meatbag pressing his face into a boss' crotch to keep the damage off them or actually listen to the healers instructions in terms of standing in a pool of acid then we could solve world peace.
  14. My highest toon, a BH Powertech, is now 42, a few more weeks maybe to 50. I will enjoy the gear as a little footup into Warzones which I have avoided due to lower level/PVE gear so TY in advance BW.
  15. Offers jawafriend new gramophone needle, very new, found on hutt-man junk heap, think he use as toothpick. You have much luck, replace now, yes.
