  1. This isn't grinding? Doing story mode Operations until you have most/all columi gear. Then going to do hard mode Operations until you have most/all rakata gear, then doing denova and doing that until you have bh and augments, then I get to do hard mode denova. Until the next tier of gear comes out, when I then have to go to the next area and do some of that flashpoint or operation until I get that type of gear. That's a grind in perfect definition.
  2. Everyone says, "get to 50. that is when the real game starts." Well, I got to 50. For the first time in my MMO history, I got to max level. I took a good look around the game and all I see are opportunities to grind to experience end-game content. I love to craft gear with my Armormech, but my very best Rakata gear requires a rare crafting material that only drops in a certain Hard Mode Flashpoint or Operation. I would like to do things with my Guild, but they all have the best armor already, so I have to grind to the next tier of armor, then grind to the tier above that, and then to the tier above that, just to start participating in Hard Mode stuff with them. Perhaps I would like to PvP some. Too bad my gear doesn't have enough Expertise to withstand anything. So, I have to grind to get better Expertise gear, and then to the tier above that, etc. What parts of the game can I actually experience that doesn't require me to do the same repetitive task every day just to progress any? Is my only choice to roll another character and go back to 1-49?
  3. I bought the regular version when the game first came out because I didn't know if I'd like it. I really do like it, and I wish I had bought the Collector's Edition. Since players with the Collector's Edition will be getting 1000 extra Cartel Coins, and players with the Digital Deluxe edition will be getting something, why not give players the option now to upgrade to those versions? RIFT does something similarly. $10 to upgrade to Digital Deluxe, $25 to upgrade to Collectors (sans physical items).
  4. I believe I got one as a quest prize for one of the last Voss quests before Bonus. Was excited to finally have the hat.
  5. I've been playing with Guss Tuno since I got him and content has been fine, but I wanted to regear up Corso for the last bit of the game and finish the game with him. So, I kept choosing droid parts that had 48/50 green armoring/mods on them. Combined with blue enhancements I got for quests, I was able to regear up Corso. I get the quest to take on the final bad guy for the Smuggler. I land in the cargo hold and proceed the first battle, Corso dies before it ends. What The Fridge corso! A bunch of 48 nobodies takes down a 46-50 modded Corso. A few more battles with him and I give up. No dice. I switch back over to Guss Tuno and proceed the finish the mission with very few hiccups. How is it that a poorer geared Medium-armor Gunslinger can tank better w/ a pocket healer than a better geared Heavy-armor ranged tank companion? Healing helps, but even a healer wouldn't have helped Corso survive any longer. I had this dream, that once I hit 50, that I'd epically gear up my companions and we'd crit the universe with our power. But how can I do that if Corso can't hold his own at end-game? How have others experienced end-game with Corso? What does it take to make this farm boy into a soldier?
  6. Healers never get thanked and are usually blamed when groups wipe. Tanks never get thanked and are usually blamed when groups wipe. I always thank the players in the groups I am in, and hope others do too, but people can't expect to be thanked every time they do their role correctly. And people shouldn't let the fear of being blamed for the wipe affect their choice of role. In the end, I think it's just easier to play a DPS than Tank or Healer. Thus, there are more DPS than Tank or Healer. But it does suck to sit in queue for a flashpoint for an hour and not get a group. Maybe there wasn't a tank. Maybe there wasn't a healer. Who knows. It's lame, though.
  7. If you crit it, it will automatically be on the armor. Like the other person said, depending on the level of the armor, it will determine what level of augment slot it gets.
  8. In my opinion, Augment recipes should be purchasable from the Slicing trainer.
  9. This game is a horrible choice for anyone who doesn't want to roll alts.
  10. You can't upgrade any further than purple. To have to get a custom schematic from Underworld Trading or other crew skills.
  11. Why is only social armor the only custom Adaptive armor? Why not make all the custom armor Adaptive?
  12. Oh yeah, because I was in a queue for a flashpoint, another person couldn't invite me to their heroic group. The Group Finder shouldn't interfere with joining an actual group.
  13. I waited an hour to join a group for Black Talon flashpoint just to get kicked because I didn't want to spacebar through all the cutscenes. The reason was: "slow", which is for some reason applicable to not rushing through the flashpoint. I guess that is what I get for using the group finder. It is very good at finding jerks. Constructive-wise, why not add a checkpoint for "No Cutscenes" or something under the group finder, just so people with like-minded playstyles get grouped together.
  14. If you didn't last a month, be it a free month, you won't make it another month.
  15. The only way a character can afford this is if it is an alt and a main account is funding it. What about new players that have yet to make it to end game? How do they buy these perks? The entire Legacy system is nothing but a huge money sink with very little benefit. It's pretty much a cash shop but instead of cash, it's currency. These perks need to be cut by 80%.
  16. So if someone had the name for 6 months and another had it for 5 months, the person who had it for 5 months should lose it? This isn't a good idea. I'm sure you'd feel differently if someone had one of your names longer than you did.
  17. The problem is that Bioware is being very vague in their patch notes. They aren't clearly detailing which sets of custom items can be reverse-engineered. Many people took the patch notes the wrong way because of this. On another topic, I think we all agree that Bioware should make all custom gear reverse-engineer'able. I have a hunch that Bioware will hold onto this feature for 1.3 or 1.4 since it will be a great addition to the game.
  18. I really feel there are too many volatile CC abilities. It isn't really noticeable in PvE, but in PvP, when you are surrounded by 3-4 players possibly at the same time, you can be stunned, etc many times in a row. In many of these cases, you end up dying well before the resolve meter could kick in and be of any help. So, if I could change one thing about PvP, I'd say I'd replace all the stun-like abilities (for use in PvP, they would still stun in PvE). I feel there should be more importance on good placement on the battlefield or refinement of skill rotation, or precise execution of specific skills at the right time. All of these elements involve player skill. Stunning the opponent, who cannot attack you, or move away, or do anything but stand there, while you use your best and brightest skills does not illustrate player skill. Yes, every class has a CC breaking ability, and the resolve meter is in the game to stop consecutive CC attempts, but neither are that reliable. Think back to the great battles in the Star Wars history. Did Darth Vader ever force choke Luke Skywalker? Did Han Solo ever kick a Trooper in the jewels? No, they swerved and dodged, knocked the enemy off their feet at important times, and made precise strikes at the perfect time to swing the battle in their favor. And I feel there are plenty of underutilized CC effects that could be used to replace stuns in PvP. We have a Force Jump, how about a tech-based jump back? Would be useful for any ranged class. We have skill denial abilities, but none that really target healing abilities specifically. It'd be great to see a Shadow sneak up on a healer and lock him out of his healing abilities for 4 seconds. (or reduce his healing by 75% for 4 seconds) To conclude, I want the fast-paced, all over the place Star Wars battles I grew to love from the movies. Right now, stuns deter this dream. Stuns lock people in place and effectively stop combat all together. Regardless of any CC breaking ability or refined resolve meter, the fact that stuns kill in PvP will always be true. Stuns do not have a volatile effect in PvE, but I feel they definitely do in PvP. Thanks for reading.
  19. I ran into this, too. I just committed to getting to 50 with a character after alt'ing a lot, and I chose my Scoundrel. I'm done with Nar Shaddaa minus one Heroic and I don't really want to progress any further without Bowdarr. REALLY SAD.
  20. It's like level 13, so I guess it'll get crappy well before I get mid-way into the game. *sad face*
  21. I had an artifact-rarity (light purple) lightsaber drop for me late last week. I noticed that it has slots for a few mods but not one to change the hilt. After reading online, it seems that the hilt is built into the weapon and cannot be accessed. Now, I know how Orange or Custom gear progression works: as you level, you have access to better mods, and can replace all the mods in the Custom gear to achieve a constantly level-adequate piece of gear. But without having access to the hilt mod in this artifact-rarity lightsaber, will it's usefulness depreciate over time to the point that it's just not competitive against other Custom lightsabers I have? It's a pretty wicked weapon, and I'd love to use it for a long, long time, but if it's going to get weak later on, I'd be disappointed.
