  1. I agree with you also on #1. Not only would not having a static number increase make it difficult to min/ max, it would also see minimal gains unless the iLVL is decent already. I respectfully disagree with you on the Marks of Mastery though. It gives players who are capable something extra to do, if they wish. And those who are interested something more to aim for. Although I agree with OP that 16-man runs are rare, especially for Vet or NiM modes, I would also like to see them continue to be added with each new operation. Both of these are more content, therefore more longevity.
  2. This is a valid point, but who else is doing updated guides? No one. Writing guides is time-consuming, so I don't blame anyone more experienced not doing it either. If the people doing it are happy to do it, the product is good, and people use it, I don't see much of an issue.
  3. For the Shadow at least, have them learn the timing of the first big slam of the Enrage and have them pop their Resilience just before that. As I said before, I know nothing of Guardian tanking, they may do something different.
  4. You can improve your DPS numbers by switching to Dirty Fighting. If this is a problem for adds, have the Sentinel on the tentacle with you join in killing the add when it is in range of them while they're on the tentacle. Your Shadow tank can kite adds. Your Shadow tank should also not be running out of Cooldowns. (I don't play Guardian tank so I can't give an informed opinion about that, sorry.) Save Resilience for the first enraged Slam, use an Adrenal if there's another. They should really only need to run one cooldown per tentacle, maybe two if they're unlucky. Resilience is up for every tentacle's enrage. They can use a Shrouded Crusader relic as an extra cooldown, if they aren't already. I know Seer DPS sucks but I think they could probably do more than 0.3k per tentacle. TK throw, Project, keep Weakened Mind up on it; when tentacles go down, get resources ready for next tentacle. As soon as both tentacles are <10%, just push one ASAP if you're behind. EDIT: Have your DPS pick up the orbs, not the tanks. If you're gonna buff someone's damage make it count. With your tank's gear, adjust it to what your group can handle. My group's DPS were great, I stayed full tank gear. If your healers can handle it, you can go as far as endurance-heavy power mods, MK-4 tank ear/ implants, a Serendipitous Assualt and Shrouded Crusader Relic, or just some of those things.
  5. Edit: Spot filled. <BOG> (Empire) is looking for 1 player to fill a spot on our team. We have cleared all 4.0 NiM bosses except Brontes at this stage. Once we recruit someone, we are looking to cycle through NiMs again as we get the new team adjusted and work on Brontes again when ready. We raid for 2 hours on Saturday, Sunday and Monday from 6pm AEST (3am CST/ 4am EST/ 1am PST). We are looking for a player who: * Can communicate through TS/ Mumble * Has experience in NiM * Can regularly attend and give notice when unavailable * Their personality meshes with ours- we only continue raiding because we enjoy playing with the people in our group. A geared player is preferable but we can gear something if we have to. We can accommodate any role. If interested please sell yourself through PM or post here. (Parses/ videos/ details etc.)
  6. As a few others have stated, I'm only willing to teach those who are willing to learn. If someone is doing "wrong", I will give them some friendly advice on what they should be doing instead. For example, I had to endure a HM FP with an Assassin tank who not only used Depradating Volts with less than 3 stacks of Harnessed Darkness but they kept interrupting the cast... They also never pulled from stealth... Anyway, after saying that it was okay that they were new (they told me after I asked) and I would help them, they ignored nearly all of the advice I gave them, the only thing they improved upon was occasionally pulling from stealth. Even after I reminded them of everything again halfway through. That tank went on /ignore because I have no time for grouping with people who cannot or will not learn. My sub, my time, my decision not to play with those kinds of players. The players that will take the time to learn will either go out and get the information, ask for it, or at least apologise when they screw up and say they are new, which then opens up an opportunity for a more experienced player to offer some advice. What you should really be asking is for players to take the time to learn about their abilities, class, and role, and to ask for help when they need it. The people who kick new players or treat them badly probably aren't here and don't give a toss what you think.
  7. Start the GSF tutorial (press H, click on the ? in the top right corner), then once the tutorial pops up press Escape to get rid of it, press Escape again and select "Exit Battle". That will remove you from the GSF tutorial and you won't be flagged for PvP anymore.

If special snowflakes want to continue feeling special why not check out exactly what Rancor someone's riding (it's on the buff bar yo) or check the date (even timestamp) of their achievements. Then you can continue feeling smug within yourself that you are truly special with your 3.0 NiM clears... Hang on...
  11. What Kumbaya said. Technically, not everyone in your group needs to do Dreadful Entity in TfB, as long as someone in the Hateful Entity run has an orb. It's always good to have more than one in case someone stuffs it up though. Everyone needs a mask from Dreadtooth. You may as well take your whole group through the whole process, as the two Entities are somewhat similar in the fight.
  12. Sounds like your guild has a fairly strong identity already. I think you would be better off recruiting people so you have your own guild rules and expectations kept. If you want to stay small, a good way of recruiting is to run group content with strangers and try to be friendly. If it goes well ask them if you can add them to your friends list and they can add you. Maybe you'll ask them to join a group you're running later. If they are unguilded maybe ask them if they're looking for a guild. By doing that rather than mass-recruiting, you have more quality control.
  13. Always stand behind Bonethrasher. If he targets someone else and is now facing you, you move behind him. If he is targeting you, stand still so others can move behind. If everyone does that you won't take the swipe after getting the debuff, because he changes targets.
  14. Sounds like a fantastic idea. I'm an experienced tank that would love to help out but there are timezone issues for me. If your group ever changes their raid day to a Friday or Saturday night and you still need a tank, please post here or send Elee'a an IG mail.
  15. As the guide on Dulfy says, the named grophets have a random chance to spawn in specific locations. Either a named grophet will spawn, or a "placeholder"- which is a normal grophet. You need to kill the "placeholder" grophet NPCs so that the named grophet has a chance to spawn. You can verify which grophet is the placeholder by looking at the location on Dulfy and seeing which grophet is a single mob and not a mob of three (all three aggro if you attack just one of their pack). Less chance of someone farming when you are, but still a RNG PITA. Took about 45- 60 minutes for two of them... five hours for the other.
  16. Story is supposed to be easy, and frankly it wasn't hard before for anyone who knew how to interrupt, stun, and not hit basic attacks over and over. Since most of the population can't seem to do that, they have now made it even easier, because it's supposed to be accessible to their audience (casuals). OP, as Ashlan said you're looking for a challenge in the wrong places. Also, KP WAS that easy back in the day. I remember solo tanking it before 2.0...
  17. Sorry your stuff got taken and all that, but players can only take out of guild banks what their permissions allow them to. Nothing for Bioware to fix. I'm pretty sure they don't want to deal with "he said/ she said" debacles like this and those that come with buying/ selling guilds. That's a lot of stuff for one person to take. And you should know who it is, because the ledger says so. If you don't even recognise the toon that has permission to withdraw that much from your guild bank, your GM seriously needs to take care of that. If it was a case of someone scamming and saying they were someone they shouldn't be, put some methods in place to prevent that like people having to promote their own alts or verifying themselves in a voice chat. In the end, it all falls back to how the guild bank is run by the guild/ GM.
  18. Are the half XP numbers you're seeing when you turn your mission purple? If so, that's your legacy experience which is based on, but awarded separately to your normal XP. It's probably about half.
  19. Actually, the gripe most raiders have is that they have done the ops so many times already, that they want something new. Some of them also did these older raids at tier. There is no need for us to "read up on tactics" or "overgear" because we ALREADY KNOW the tactics and having completed it at tier, won't need to OVERGEAR. But hey, thanks for lumping us all in with "ops guilds (who) just want easy wins".
  20. I do heal, and your post is excellent. It's not simply about HPS or EHPS, and for anyone looking up healing parses on Parsely- I won't say they're not cool to look at, but it's not something to compare your healers to. Some of those parses are solo healed, which heavily increases the EHPS. Always nice to see what some individuals are capable of, though. Haven't you ever had a 50k wipe or lower wipe? DPS is DPS, whether it's a DoT used mostly on CD by a healer or whether the healers do significant DPS in the opening phase of a fight- which most of the time, is when the least damage is going out and raid buffs are used, and so they can do a good amount of DPS without the raid being in danger. Doing healing when it is not needed fluffs your HPS, and not your EHPS. So if a healer is not healing, and not DPSing ('cause we don't want that do we <sarcasm>), what are they doing? Nothing. Pretty useless if you ask me. Just because they don't prioritise DPS, doesn't mean they should not do any at all. (Recalling that you don't consider "throwing out a CD or affliction" DPS.) The OP also asked about how to judge a healer, and I'd say that if they are comfortable enough to be able to DPS and still keep everyone alive and get a kill, it shows: * They know the resource management and limitations of their class * They know how to best utilise DPS abilities as a healer * They are familiar with the fights and their class * They are capable of keeping people topped off so efficiently that they have time and resources available to help DPS
  21. I suppose I agree with the basic idea... Though 5000 cartel coins is about $40. I don't expect the new expansion to be that much.
  22. I would appreciate more tabs, preferably legacy. If they have to be purchased with Cartel Coins to unlock them I see them as a bonus for Bioware- money earnt- and it gives players choices. To people who see no use for them, it has no negative impact as you don't have to unlock them if you don't want or need them. I'm not sure what the development time would be for making some extra cargo bays, but it can't be that long surely?
  23. As with anything Bioware does, it's about making you play longer so you sub longer and give them more money. Yes, I agree the low drop rate is disappointing for those hunting it. I only got it when I paid the winner credits for it, not that I really mind.
