  1. You are missing some texture files and assets. Running a repair will fix this most of the time, depending on which launcher you are using, Open your launcher and login then look at the lower left corner of the launcher and check if you have the "ST" launcher if you do then close the launcher and go to your games install directory and delete the BitRaider folder, if you do not have the ST launcher then click the gear cog icon and select repair.
  2. Those items are/were available in Cartel Packs which are purchased via the Cartel Market. The packs themselves go on embargo and are no longer available for purchase after a few weeks, therefore the items in the packs can them only be purchased through the GTN or player trading. You can find out what items were in all previous packs and when they were embargoed from this guide here - http://dulfy.net/2013/02/04/swtor-cartel-market-pack-list/
  3. Welcome, if you have any questions this is the place to ask! If you haven't played MMOs before you may have a couple.
  4. DPS does stand for damage per second although is more commonly used to identify a damage dealing role, class or player. EG: "Looking for 3 more DPS for..." means they are looking for 3 more players to fill the damage dealing role. Tank also refers to a role, class or player that has very high defensive abilities and should be taking most of the damage and focus of enemies. Tanks do not have a reduced movement speed and can be very maneuverable although are not as mobile as some other classes. Mobs means groups of enemies, either players or NPCs (non player characters). Mobs can also be used as a term for a single or group of weaker enemies that usually do not grant large rewards, another term for this is "trash" or "trash mobs".
  5. There is no notification send to the player being friended, there is nothing to accept and the target character is automatically added to your friends list, even if they are offline. No the player being friended has no indication of who has them on their friends lists. Yes
  6. Close the game and launcher then go to your game's install directory and delete the BitRaider folder, this will cause a scan and repair of the game and should fix those missing assets.
  7. You can only play on the starter planets until the game download completes, any characters not on a stater planet cannot be used so it's a good opportunity to start a new character.
  8. Most likely caused by your antivirus or firewall blocking the games connection to the servers, could you try to add both the launcher.exe and swtor.exe to your firewall exception lists and set them to allow not auto. If that doesn't help which antivirus software are you using?
  9. Window licker is a euphemism for a person of mentally challenged status, derived from the stereotyped behaviour. Depending on usage it can be offensive or just imply being a newb. BiS is an acronym for Best in Slot, which means the best (highest stats) gear or mods available for that armor or weapon slot, IE offhand, relic, crystal.
  10. Im guessing you were originally on Jung Ma? The Ebon Hawk (RP) and Jedi Covenant (PvE) would have the highest population on the East side with POT5 being the highest population PvP server. All of the West server have a higher average population than the East although depending on when you play the East may be more suitable.
  11. Hundreds of players have had this problem fixed by posting in the Customer Service forums...
  12. Your subscription should activate instantly (and it has because only subscribers can post on the forums) although there is currently an issue with accounts not updating in game so if you make a post in the Customer Service forum a CSR will fix your account.
  13. Here is a thread with a CS response about the issue. http://www.swtor.com/community/showthread.php?p=6823211#post6823211
  14. Have you checked the class forums here? They usually have some great, up to date rotation and skill guides for every class. http://www.swtor.com/community/forumdisplay.php?f=13
  15. You will definitely see an increase in population and the only other significant change will be that open world PvP will be more limited to when a player agrees to participate, IE turns on their PvP flag. Personally I enjoy the PvE servers more as you have a choice and you still get a fair share of base invasions and world PvP. Also if you are playing from the west side or the west servers are more suited to the times you can play this would be a good opportunity to switch to say the Begeren Colony which is the RP-PvE server for the west.
  16. No, it's not usually not done and chances are they will not do it due to ownership and security concerns and of cause if a service like this was available it opens the game up to character trade. Some examples of CS answers. http://www.swtor.com/community/showthread.php?p=6596283#post6596283 http://www.swtor.com/community/showthread.php?p=6541856#post6541856 http://www.swtor.com/community/showthread.php?p=6161192#post6161192
  17. Unassesmbled gear tokens are now used at the Operations gear vendors which are located in the center directly beside the class Ultimate gear vendors.
  18. Only subscribers may be guild leaders of subscriber guilds, the system will automatically pass guild leadership on to the highest ranked active subscriber in your guild once your account changes to free-to-play. http://www.swtor.com/support/helpcenter/6856 That is probably whats causing the problem, you are no longer the GM.
  19. Here are a few of my favorites. And there are a few more on that channel.
  20. This thread is about a different chat problem although it may help with your issue too - http://www.swtor.com/community/showthread.php?t=678578.

  22. This is the last update that Bioware has given regarding the cross region transfers, basically saying that there are no technical issues and they can do it but the service is not yet available. I'll also add my support for this.
  23. If you really don't want to redownload I can suggest other things to try but the vast majority of the time using the SSN launcher fixed things like this. Anyway sorry to here that, keep us updated and hopefully you'll be back in the game soon.
  24. No it's not, of cause there could be other problems causing this but if I were you (even with slow internet speeds) I'd switch, let it download over night and you can pause it and continue later if needed.
  25. Basically you are using the streaming or "BitRaider" launcher at the moment and the above changes the launcher patching mode to the original non-steaming mode. Doing this requires a different file setup so some if not all of your existing install may have to be redownloaded, although the original patching mode is much more reliable and you shouldn't have the issue again in the future.
