  1. I have the exact same issue. CS suggested resetting the quest, and when that failed, told me to log a bug report...
  2. Does the required item drop in both HM FE and Normal - or only in normal?
  3. I keep meeting a lot of people that are unaware of how enrage timers work, and so blame the Healer for failing to heal the "Spike" damage. Would it be possible to code in a announce of "Time Limit Exceeded - <Bossname> now dealing 200% Damage"? If there is currently any visual indication that a Boss has reached the Enrage time limit, it's not obvious, and might be being mistaken for an ability.
  4. +1 When will these be available in NZ, tried to buy one today - but can't?
  5. I know I have 4 Torps, it just seems strange that I'm forced to use them, when I should be able to just tap to fire missiles instead. Guess I'll just leave the Torps in the bank.
  6. But wait - surely the face that we can't fire missiles at the shield generators is a bug?
  7. In his defense, I believe he has admitted that he has not healed end game as either class. This might explain how he could come to this conclusion.
  8. Apologies, I'm only concerned with Operations and future content, (and even then really only healing it), where a FOTM class isn't really a thing. For PvP, any game where a character can be leveled to max in less than a month, there will, (by definition), always be a FOTM. As 80-90% of PvP players are essentially afking their way through warzones, while the rest achieve objectives. I don't think it's a huge issue though. I don't think that you would find that any Healing Operative would admit to having ever felt overpowered in a Warzone, useful - yes, but not as powerful as when they play their Sorcerors.
  9. Perception is all that counts. The community perceives that Operatives are sub-par, and so preference for other classess in Operations will increase. I perceive that my Operative is sub-par, as when I play it I can "get by", when I play my Sorceror, I become an unstoppable juggernaut of unrivaled healing power. Therefore, my preference will tend towards playing the Sorc. As the numbers of Operatives drop, and the Devs have time to examine the causes, (ie. aren't working on all the massive fixes that are in 1.2), the class will be reworked.
  10. Druids were a very underplayed class until Burning Crusade. Blizzard did state that before BC. Paladins / Hunters were popular in Vanilla, exact numbers were ovbiously never released.
  11. There is probably still a lot of people levelling Operatives, and I suspect that all the non-jedi classes would have a lower number of players. I would go further than diagnostic scan and say that the entire Medic tree is pretty lackluster and needs to be completely redone. The Operative resource mechanic is poorly thought out, and needs work. The issue is that this amount of work simply isn't going to be done any time soon, (especially since it impacts such a small number of players).
  12. I think this issue will be worked out exactly the same as Druids in WoW. The position is the same, Dev public denial of any problems, community fully aware of the problem. Over the next 12-24 month period, the number of Operatives actively being played will drop to very low number, and the Devs will acknowledge the issue, and rework the class from the ground up in the first major expansion. It will just take that long for them to catch up. Just play a Sorceror until that happens.
  13. Operatives don't exist in vaccum. Do Sorcerors get a basic ability that requires 4 talent points to become, (arguably), useful? No. The Sorceror has solid powers that are improved by talents + combine with other abilities. And that's the way it should be. We're not saying that Operatives can't get through with what they have, just that Sorcerors can do everything an Operative can ... and more. With the new Tiers of gear on the way that the devs keep coyly referring to, this gap will widen further: Every point of Wisdom a Sorc gets is a better heal + more mana. Every point of Cunning an Op gets is a better heal + <blank> As the difficulty of the encounters needs to be increased for the Sorcs, (who don't even have mana issues now), Operatives will be further left behind. The class will be reworked within 2 years. As you point out in your guide, healing as an Operative has turned you to drinking during raids. If you were playing a Sorc, you can eat dinner and watch TV while you raid. If your answer to the thread topic is: "Because I enjoy a CHALLENGE!" then the OP has your answer, and that's fine.
  14. I think this is going a bit far. Operatives are inferior to Sorcerors, and it's widely acknowledged by the player base. Comparing to World of Warcraft, Druids were a largely inferior healer at launch, (acknowledged by the player base), and got a massive reworking at around the 2 year mark, (when Bliz caught up), in the first expansion. I would expect something similar for Operatives, (anyone expecting more than trivial changes in 1.2 is dreaming - IMO, as there was no admission that there was even a problem), the admission that the Medical talent tree is terrible, that Diagnostic Scan is a joke, that resource management is horribly unblanced, will probably happen around the first major expansion for SW:TOR. I would not be surprised if the class is reworked from the ground up at that point. Until then, Bioware has more pressing concerns, just play a Sorc if your Guild needs a healer, it's not going to bother them which you play.
