  1. I said nobody in thier right mind would report people all day long, so no I am not wrong at all. Sounds like the majority are not in thier right minds. I really do not care anymore and closed my chat window and I assume many of these people who say it is a bad idea buy credits themselves. If you actually have a life and no time to play the game why not just leave the game. People buy credits because either they do not have the time or they do not have the patience to play the game right. I would either not play it or learn some patience.
  2. Would it do any good to report them to these companies? These companies may want money, but would they want it enough to verify sites that go against a companies ToS. They have a reputation they may feel needs to be maintained by not giving these sites verification. I am going to try to find out about this. Obviously many companies will not feel any obligation to EA or Bioware or Lucasarts, but I am almost certain many of them will.
  3. I still think I have the right idea, at least with the 1 hour ban. Nobody in their right mind would make false reports all day long. They could just limit the reports to subscribers only. If you spend money on this game and you make false reports and get banned you lose access to what you purchased. I don't think most players would risk that. If they are willing to risk that they deserve to be banned. If there are enough true reports against someone they will investigate and ban them. If there are several false reports those people will be banned. These bans happen anyway, but very slowly. If spam reports got results within minutes instead of hours. People would file them on the right people more often. People say ignore, but it is only because they believe spam reports do not do any good and they are probably right. If three spam reports make spam go away for an hour they would be worth filing.
  4. It could be an hour each time and if you make a false report too many times then you are in trouble and then its over for you at least until you get a new ip address. If you create a ticket they will figure out who is lying.
  5. There would be no lawsuit like that because when you accept the TOS you agree not to sue them. So you go to court your case is dismissed and all court costs are on you. I am disabled so I got to much to lose and would be a fair moderator. I am not like many others in that they have nothing to lose. I have everything to lose. As a fan of Bioware and Star Wars including Kotor I would never do that. I want others to have a good experience. Even the ones that are not nice as long as they don't continue to be like that they get to come back. The spammers do not care and would just move on and be someone else's problem.
  6. Make it an alternate general chat.
  7. 3 spam reports = 1 hour ban 3 more that same day = 24 hour ban and just do this everyday. All other chats are still available so if its a mistake you can still chat with guild members and friends.
  8. It will depend on what does more damage the moderator or spam. One thing is true and that is removing 1 unfair moderator is a lot easier than multiple spammers.
  9. I think this would be the only good solution for spammers. I would sign up for that if I could. I know you would have to warn them to stop before you could block them, but that would not be a problem. I know you have to give them a chance and it would be temporary, but I really don't care just as long as some of us honest players could take care of some of these issues bioware does not have the time for. If they worked harder to deal with spam like some players want them to they would not get anything else done.
  10. If there was a way to block specific websites from being typed in chat that would be the best option for dealing with spam. If you have to change what you type in from your actual website name that will make you less efficient and if you have a link that is fine you would have no problems. Nobody will use the exact website name as a spammer. If you can slow them down that is all you really have to do. A legitimate link reported as spam will not be blocked until it is confirmed. So I do not see how that would be a problem. If you did that you would be banned so that would work. What anonn mentioned would not work because we have gold spammers.
  11. If you had the software that detects website addresses in general chat it would help significantly in blocking spam. It might be a good idea to have an official thread for reporting web addresses that appear in general chat and then they can be blocked from view in general chat like swear words would be except nobody could read them. This would annoy people who are doing this. They might have to give it up and only sell to users who search for these sites on their own. This would work for mail as well or for any chat. At least if users search for these sites on thier own we the honest players will not even know.
  12. when you click on the gtn or vendors or a mailbox your speeder should automatically be put away.
  13. I had a thought about classic space combat missions. I was thinking there should be Empire and Rebel Alliance themed space combat missions. Republic players would get a Millennium Falcon while Empire players would get a Slave 1. You would get attacked by Ties and Destroyers. There could also be Knights of the old Republic themed Missions featuring the Ebon Hawk and other ships from that Era.
