  1. Dancer's Palace, hosted social roleplay, Friday September 6th, 8:00 pm - 11:00 pm PDT Dancer's Palace is a high class night club established by Stell'ange Vuedange-Helghan some years ago in a floating skypalace above Nar Shaddaa. All are welcome, from any faction, alliance, system or race. There is no dress code and weapons are allowed, but violence is not. It has an extensive drink menu, a food menu available in the dining room, and of course, a ballroom with music. The club has a very high quality security system that detects any kind of violence or threat, to patrons or to the establishment, and immediately freezes the parties in the immediate area in a stasis field that allows them to breath and speak, but not move beyond that. Security droids will then come with a staff member and release any innocent parties, then release and escort away the guilty party. The club's security system also provides electromagnetic screening that prevents recording the guests, or any other similar invasions of the security and privacy of the guests! OOC: If you attend Dancer's Palace, you agree to respecting the IC security system that has been put in place in order to ensure enjoyable rp for all. To find Dancer's Palace, look for Icaricia's Nar Shaddaa stronghold or whisper Icaricia pub side or Ridasi imp side.
  2. I share your frustration. I used a two-month time card I had bought a while back, figured I'd come back to being a sub for a bit, to see how I like the new expansion, and now that will expire around the time of the expansion. While I understand that the fine print means they aren't legally on the hook for anything, it left me feeling like I was the victim of a bait and switch scheme.
  3. BDO - Black Desert Online Look up Black Desert Online roleplay and you'll find there's a website for the rp community. I haven't said anything there yet, I'm still lurking, but I have seen rp and there are regular weekly events. My greatest challenge is that most of them are earlier evening EST and I'm a west coast night owl, so it's all way too early for me. There's rp in ESO too, because I know rp'ers from SWTOR who also rp there, but I don't know where to find the community and for the moment it's too expensive for something I want to just try.
  4. I could do that, but that doesn't transfer my six strongholds all decorated for rp. Nor does it bring the community I'm a part of with me, the people who's characters are connected to my characters. It would amount to starting over, and honestly, I don't have the heart to do that. I'm at the point where if I have to start over, it's going to be elsewhere, and not in SWTOR. I really wish BW would merge all the rp servers together instead of further diluting the minority we already are. BC has a wonderful RP community, but the numbers have been dwindling. Usually I'm the one not wanting to hear the doomsayers, but I've actually hit the point of starting to invest in another MMO. For five years I've played and rp'd in SWTOR. For the last four years, I was probably in SWTOR 360 days a year. In the last couple months, I've started playing elsewhere and I'm only in SWTOR one or two days a week. That's a significant shift and it's mostly because I'm missing everyone I've lost. I welcome the mergers to hopefully bring in new blood and help grow the community, but by merging BC with non rp-servers, rather than with EH, I'm not all that hopeful that it will bring in the new blood we need.
  5. The mighty Nem'ro the Hutt, ruler of Jiguuna, invites all interested parties to witness and profit from his cunning and might. After a successful raid of a warehouse compound belonging to his enemy, Fa'athra, the most generous Nem'ro has decided, rather than keeping all the acquired riches for himself, to put them up for auction. The auction will take place at the city gates to Jiguuna. Twenty-four lots will be up for auction, including scrap materials, relics, artifacts and treasures, speeders, live animals, weapons and munition, and artworks. Bring your credits and profit from Nem'ro's might and generosity! _____________________________________________ OOC: This event will take place on Monday October 17th, at 9 pm server time (PDT). This event is set at the start of the SWTOR storyline timeline, during the Cold War. No sign up is needed, but you can express interest or plans to attend in this thread. The event will be open world, on Hutta, by the Nem'ro's Bazzar speeder point! No OOC in game credits will be required for the purchases, but gifts will be given to represent the purchased lots! My character Wapun will be acting as the servant running the auction, and a friend will be bringing a character who will be the enforcer who also delivers the purchased lots to the successful buyers. Consider the Garmorean guard NPCs there to be IC. Disorder during the auction will not be tolerated by Nem'ro, however, once buyers leave the auction with their goods, they are no longer Nem'ro's concern. If you've never roleplayed before and are interested in seeing what this roleplay thing is, or if you've never rp'd in the game and would like to get started, please don't hesitate to come and join the event! I'll start with a very brief (took about 15 minutes last time) overview of how rp in the game works and how to get started wtih your character!
  6. Reminder to all interested that this is tomorrow! Location will be the one Jedi Temple classroom that isn't instanced! http://i.imgur.com/rmC3C99.jpg
  7. In the midst of the Cold War, after the destruction of the Jedi Temple on Coruscant and the signing of the Treaty of Coruscant, the Jedi work at rebuilding their order on the planet to which they've only recently returned, their original home, Tython. The Jedi Temple on Tython is a bustling place where younglings are first introduced to the Force, padawans find their masters, knights return before going out to continue their work in the galaxy, masters impart their wisdom on the young and the Jedi Council determines the course of the Jedi Order and its members. Jedi Knight Zurshufis, a shadow and a veteran of the war, is offering a class in Introductory Interspecies Diplomacy. This class is primarily aimed at younglings and padawans, though knights and masters may find some interesting discussion topics within, and may have the opportunity at the end of the class to share some of their own related experiences. There is no prerequisite for this class and no preregistration is required. ___________________________________________________________________________ OOCly: The first of four Back to Square One events I'll be running, which may turn into more such events! Where and when: This will be an open rp, at a location at the Jedi Temple on Tython, which I will confirm once I've picked it, Monday, October 3rd, 9pm PDT. I will be announcing the event in GenChat before it begins to welcome anyone who wants to rp, discover rp, watch rp, learn what rp is! This event is set at the beginning of the SWTOR class storylines, during the Cold War era. The first roughly half hour of this event will be an OOC discussion of the basics of how to rp and how to create a character for rp, for those who may be new to rp. Anyone can join! If you've never roleplayed before and are interested in what this -RP- thing is, come and discover a universe of social interaction and creativity! If you've roleplayed before, but never in an MMO setting, come and get a glimpse of how some of us do it here! If you haven't rp'd in a while and want a chance to get back into it, come and dust off your rp hat! If you've found it hard to RP since KotFE has come upon the galaxy, come and RP in a simpler time! If you're a veteran of rp and active rper, come join in just for the fun of more RP! Bring a new character and go back to where we started, or bring a 65 as a stand in for a one off character, or bring one of your characters and rp them 12 years in their past! The goal of this rp is to give new players a chance to rp in the timeline they know, so that, hopefully, eventually, they can catch up with the rest of our rp community and join us for our weekly events and other rp. No need to sign up, but you're welcome to indicate your planned participation in this thread! This event is organised by a member of the begerencolony.org RP community. If you're looking for some great rp and great rpers, come and check out the website!
  8. I'm going to repeat a request from a few months ago and keep repeating it, because it's no less important now. Please return the RP label, in some form to the servers that were previously labelled as RP. The RP server designation is what lets new players know where they can find RP communities. Player turnover in any game is significant and within RPers is no different. For the RP community to thrive, it needs a steady influx of new players to replace those who've moved on. If you spread newly arriving RPers between all servers, because they don't know on which servers to find the existing communities, many will likely abandon the search before finding anyone, if they're looking on the wrong server. Meanwhile, the existing RP communities will slowly shrink with the lack of new players. I realise that RPers are a minority in this game. This means that our communities can sometimes be hard to find, drowned out by the number of players going through PvE and PvP only. All the more reason why we need certain servers to be designated for RP, so that new players at least have a place to start looking. Please return an RP designation, in some form that will be clear to new players, to the already established RP servers.
  9. I just wanted to let you know that I had issues opening a ticket for customer support a few weeks ago, because my ticket list was too full and it wouldn't let me open an in game ticket. I ended up having to call customer support, who gave me the customer support email I could use to get help for my question. The customer support agent I spoke to told me I had over 300 open tickets. ALL of them were spam reports. Reporting spam only works if you can clear those tickets in a reasonable time and they don't prevent us from then opening tickets for other problems. When I got the email back from customer support, that email actually recommended to me to NOT report spam so as to avoid the problem I had had of my open ticket list being too big.
  10. I needed to open a ticket for an in game issue today and couldn't because it tells me I have too many open tickets. Every time I get spam in game mail (which is A LOT), I report it, in order to help with the fight against this spam. But everytime I do that, it opens a ticket. So now, when I actually need help on something, I can't open a ticket because of all the spam reports! I even tried closing those tickets, and it won't let me. It is extremely frustrating to not be able to get help when I need help! I won't just send a bug report, because the message is clear that bug reports don't get replies and this is something I actually need help with. BW, please, clear the spam tickets as you receive them so that when your clients actually need help they can get it!
  11. No, there are established rp communities on the servers that were previously labeled as rp, such as Begeren Colony. These communities often have events, websites, all sorts of supports for rpers, but if someone is new to rp, or new to rp in an MMO, they won't necessarily know where to look for those communities and resources outside of the game. Giving those servers their rp tags back means that at least they'll know to look in game, or will have a higher chance of stumbling upon other rpers in game.
  12. I understand the topic of the loss of RP server tags was brought up at the livestream today but got no answer. I will repeat. When a new player arrives in SWTOR for the first time, they do not necessarily know where to look for rp if there are no rp server tags. Stop suggesting that they will find the communities on the internet. They shouldn't have to find the SWTOR rp communities on the internet, they should be able to find them in the game! I came to SWTOR four years and some ago as a new player to MMO's and with no idea what rp was. I wouldn't have even known there was such a thing as rp, let alone where to look for other rp'ers or a community had there not been servers with an RP tag for me to chose from. By removing the RP tags from the established RP servers, with established RP communities, you are costing those communities the influx of new players they need to remain vital and growing. You've stated before that you care about the RPers in this game, even if we're a minority. Well, show it! Put those tags back on our servers, or find some other way of letting new players who might be looking for rp or even just curious about what the heck this rp thing is, where to start looking for others who can help them and RP with them! Heck, even if you just put a sticky up in this forum that establishes "Here are the servers that have established RP communities" that would at least be a start! Though that doesn't change that the new players still have to look outside of the game to find the rp within the game!
  13. My comment is on this statement: "RP'ing is super important, right? As a Star Wars game, people being able to immerse themselves in that world is very, very important. But having an instance or a server type dedicated to that doesn't necessarily like enforce a ruleset of you having to RP there. So what we felt was more important was making sure that we can build toolsets for RP'ers, things like being able to make your own chat channels and work within those chat channels and things like that. So know that it's very important to us that RP'ers have the tools they need to roleplay but we didn't feel that actually separating an instance type just for it was necessarily the right solution. So you're not at all forgotten. We definitely want to make sure that RP'ers are accounted for in those changes that we made." No. No. No. I can't say it enough. I don't want an RP instance. That creates the same problem of spreading what is already a minority population too thin across all servers. I want the servers that were already established as RP servers, like Begeren Colony and Ebon Hawk, which have already established RP communities to be once again designated as RP servers. RP servers need no specific ruleset, only the RP designation to let new players know where the existing RP communities can be found! I realise that RPers are a minority in this game. This means that our communities can sometimes be hard to find, drowned out by the number of players going through PvE and PvP only. All the more reason why we need certain servers to be designated for RP, so that new players at least have a place to start looking. New tools for RPers sounds lovely, but are of no use if RPers can't find each other to RP with. Please return an RP designation, in some form that will be clear to new players, to the already established RP servers.
  14. I'm biting my tongue hard to not just rant on this one, because this, to me, as a roleplayer, is just insulting. We'll take away the PVE, PVP and RP tags from the servers and replace them with PVE an PVP instances. Um... don't you notice someone missing in there?! I have no issue with the PVE and PVP instances instead of servers, but please, please, PLEASE, return the RP labels to the servers that are RP! They have established, longstanding rp communities that are always eager for new members and new players should know where to find them!
  15. Agreed! Why on earth did you ever take away the RP designation for established RP servers with established RP communities? Just because you added PVP and PVE designations, the RP server designation disappears? Someone's lacking in logic on this!
