  1. Have you even been in a WZ yet? 10000 posts in the PvP forums disagree with you...
  2. Georg Zoeller and the Warhammer bunch. (You know, the "We Hate Healers" crowd?) There's your answer.
  3. The "2 second deathmatch" style of gameplay did so well for Warhammer though...
  4. Bio absolutely gutted healers, and uber-buffed their counterclasses this patch. What did you expect?
  5. Wow, I've never felt more useless in a Warzone since my Engineer at the launch of Warhammer. Full Rakata/Battlemaster gear Ops Healer and I still feel that queueing up puts my team at a huge disadvantage. How Bioware can mess up class balance so, so bad is beyond me. (P.S. most matches are 10/16 Maras nowadays. I have yet to see ONE Merc/Commando after three hours of play)
  6. Have you been in PvP lately? My main is an Ops healer as well and Maras are just tearing holes in absolutely everything. No point in even being there. How Bio let this through test is absolutely mindblowing.
  7. Honest opinion: Positives: New dungeon and Ops, always a good thing The UI changes are needed and as good as people are saying Neutrals: Legacy is ok but a bit disappointing. Doesn't really change anything in game, and is only really useful for alt-aholics. If you are one, push this to positive New Warzone is eerily similar to an old one (Alderaan) Nothing really added to PvP with its introduction Negatives: PvP class balance completely shattered (will become even worse with ranked warzone introductions) Warzone commedation system messed up World PvP essentially dead So, Id say if you're a PvEer, give it another whirl as the new Ops and dungeon will give the game a bit more life. If you're a PvPer, don't bother, its worse.
  8. Probably. Back to Monday Night Combat I guess. But I do have a free month ahead of me, which gives me 30 days to nerd rage on the boards. Not much else to do since evey major patch makes the game worse (how does that happen?) (And to the poster who suggested NGE, touche sir.)
  9. For the record, my first match in 1.2 had 10/16 maras. ONE DAY after the patch. I'm an Ops healer main, and essentially I'm not playing until Bioware fixes the rediculous balancing issue. Today was the first day I felt my presence was a detriment to my team (and I'm a fully BM/Rakata Healer).
  10. I'll stop quitting WZs when Bioware stops borking class balance so badly.
  11. Class balance gets worse, and now rated warzones are just around the corner. What a disaster.
  12. Unfortunately, it won't. This game is paralleling Warhammer eerily close...
  13. 1.1: The Great Ilum Debacle 1.2: The Gutting o' the Warzones/Deathnell of Class Balance Opinions?
  14. I've only played for about 3 hours, but 1.2 is an unmitigated disaster. Worse that 1.1 with the Ilum debacle? Debatable. All I know is that this game gets worse and worse every major patch...
  15. I knew Maras/Sents would be overpowered in 1.2, but didn't know just how bad until I logged on for the first time today. You know its bad when 10/16 people in a WZ are Maras, ONE DAY after the new patch. Seriously Bioware, you couldn't see this coming? Time to toss out your precious metrics, they're clearly not working...
  16. People are upset, because past patterns show when something goes up on PTS, it almost always goes live. Can someone think of a incident where this was not the case? Further, trust in Georg Zoeller & co. is so low at this point that I, and I'm sure most people, don't believe any of our feedback will make a difference.
  17. My understanding is that its 10% more in total, so if RN was healing 2000 damage over 15 seconds, now it heals 2200 damage over 6 seconds. Unless I'm grossly misinformed, its much better.
  18. Its not your hate or rage they need to fear, its your apathy. Hate shows you care -- apathy shows you don't. Angry people rage-quit and come back, apathetic people just leave.
  19. You probably don't need the encouragement, but please do My initial reaction is that OPs got nerfed on the lower end of the Conc/Leth trees and buffed at the top of Leth/Medic (and top level juggled in Conc) was to encourage "pure" talenting rather than the limited hybridization that was going on (I myself had three talents hit by nerfs). In exchange, we go buffs to two crappy spells (RN & DS), moving RN to "pretty decent, but still costs seven talent points" and DS to "still crap". And with the Medic tree being so lackluster (hell, the middle of the tree after Medical Engineering is called the "dead zone" for a reason), I didn't see what everyone was so excited about. (I.E., it looked like everyone was celebrating the RN buffs as the new "wonderspell that fixes everything".) Little did I realize that the nerfs hit Sages & Mercs THAT hard... So, from what you report, it looks like I spoke too soon (and will eat crow on other threads as appropriate). Will wait on your report for this. Thanks for clarifying.
  20. What changes have occurred to RN since Beta? Answer: None. What changes have been made to Ops Medic since Beta? Answer: Very little (mostly in the DPS areas and the Surge nerf). So, yea, my opinion is still valid up to 1.2. "It's not the best spell" This is a 31 point spell that takes 6 points of mediocrity/garbage (total of 7) to pick up. This is a problem, even with the 1.2 changes. And I promise you I'm not dismissing the fact that the improvements are significant. I'm questioning how signigficant they are. Lots of people are running around saying Ops are now kings of healing thanks to 1.2 -- all I see are nerfs to our lower tier off-trees (i.e. %2 cut in crit) along with buffing two lackluster spells. Disregarding the DS buff (its still garbage), is RN the "wonderspell that fixes everything"? Doubt it. RNG procs are a terrible, terrible system. They're entertaining though, as my guild loves it when I yell "GO GO RNG PROC!" into my mic right before I die, because the RNG gods despise me (this goes double for BM tokens ... grrr RNG gear system!) I don't disparage anyone actually having DS or RN, though I'd be careful in using the fact that "everyone" has it as evidence that they're good spells. I'd be more apt to believe that its the lackluster Med tree, and a total lack of synergy between our three trees that causes this. Hell, if I was a PvE only Medic, and I didn't like to respec, I'd probably have DS too, since I got four points to spend in the "dead zone" after Medical Engineering, and everything else is equally as unimpressive. This works both ways too. I'd probably have and use RN too if it wasnt for the six medicore/garbage talents I'd have to take to pick it up. So people not taking RN may not be indicitive of the actal value of RN (which would be higher than expected) Its a fair comparison, since the INTENT of the spell is the same, to heal through AoE Sustained DPS, even if the mechanics are different. The fact that you see it as a health topper instead speaks to the weakness of the spell more than anything else. KPs don't save anyone, nor does RN. KI and SP do. KI is a 2 second immobile cast. SP is mobile, but is tied to the 2 second case via the TA proc. While we do have higher mobility than the Combat Medic, to say we're the "mobile" healer with the KI restriction is really misleading, especially with the tools in the Sage/Sorc basket. Finally, I can totally agree with you. I don't want to be sorc-light either. To wit, I was really hoping that the hinted changes to ops would overhaul them to keep their unique mechanic, but give them the utility and synergy that would make them wanted in groups. Not OVER Sorcs. Not OVER Mercs (Merc nerf, wth?), but unique in a way that offers one or two advantages not matched by either healer (with the other two having the same quality as well, so its a "take anyone" mentality). What I got was buffs to two crap spells with nerfs to the low end talents of the other two trees. This shouldn't be too unexpected, as the Bioware philosophy is to kill hybrids in favor of "pure" builds -- the core problem though is the Medic tree is SO lackluster that forcing me to put extra points into it actually hurts my PvP build. Quite possible. See above. Yea, admittedly I downplayed this to make a point. I'll try not to do that in the future, and hopefully the above reflects that.
  21. Unsubstantiated reports from the front (aka the PTS) indicate that the resource management added to Sorcs is, and I quote, "Not that big a deal". So, in essence, Ops replaces Merc in the "number two" slot? Uh, I guess thats good for me. I'd rather that we had three equally viable classes though. Apparently this is not a shared philosophy -- the nerfs to Mercs are absolutely unbelieveable. (Good luck getting justification. I bet dollars to donuts that the Sorc/Sage boards will get a dev response, and the Merc/Commando, Ops/Scoundel and Healing boards will be met with silence (or a troll post)).
  22. Back to eat a bit of crow here. Yea, I'm completely underwhelmed with the Ops changes, and the buffs really solve none of the core issues with the class... ....But man, I just saw the math behind the Combat Medic changes. Crikey! Gonna go in the corner now and enjoy what I got...
  23. Locking KI lock out TA generation, which locks out SP, which is the problem. Sure, you can roll HoTs (and I do) but once you get your HoTs casted, you better hope someone is in Melee range to get a Shiv off, or your SoL. Yes, frontloading RN helps, but RN wasn't giving tremendous amounts of healing before the change as it was, so a 10% buff to it is unimpressive. I agree the front-loading does help. Enough to save you? Even with KP rolling? Nope. I wouldn't call DS 'amazing'. Even with the changes, its still marginally useful for PvE only, which means its not really worth putting the points into unless you have 4 to spare and don't have a better place to put them. Honestly, I have never hit a situation where I would use this skill, as Adrenaline Probe fits this functionality better. I still think the puddle is better though, as either people will clump (VoidStar Doors/Alderaan Caps) or they won't. Even with this, a well placed pool can be a gamechanger on a Huttball match (heal everyone in the pool clumped in front of the fire), wherein RN (dumb targeting, small radius, poor Healing output) is currently is an afterthought. It was so bad, I haven't bothered to spec it since Beta. I'd rather put 7 points into other skills. Will the 10% buff plus frontlading changes fix this (and be worth seven points to get)? I probably have to see the new RN in action before I comment (which is unfortunate that I don't have a lvl 50 on the PTS). I'll reserve comment until I do. "Ops are mobile" is really a misnomer. See healer boards for why Sorcs are more mobile that Ops. On a side note, ask yourself: in what situation is a Ops healer better than a Sorc healer? Mitigation is always better than HoT. Their AoE is better. Even with the nerfs to resource management, theirs is both easier and better*. *Based off reports from the PTS. I haven't tested personally so take this statement with a grain of salt. I assume you mean Infusion? I don't think that will ever be "fixed", and I don't really think is should be (I see it as the SP equivalent for Ops who aren't in the Medic tree but need to heal in a pinch. In that role, it works). Overall, ask yourself: where would I use an Ops when an equally geared/skilled Sorc is available? I don't think 10% increase to RN changes this statement very much from the answer "Never" from pre-1.2.
  24. Oh, and why address Georg Zoeller in a post on the Ops boards? They nerfed Ops FIVE TIMES IN A ROW and haven't had the stones, nor the community respect, to come here and discuss it with the community. Do you think that will suddenly change, or does someone have a "grow ********s" wand onhand?
  25. Fixed your post for you. I know I shouldn't feed trolls, but the assertion that 4-pointing DS is worthwhile is hysterical, so I want to see it keep going.
