  1. I can tell you that on the Red Eclipse server the heroic areas are full with dead mobs. I don't know why it happens but it happens.
  2. We are in need of DPS players these days. If you are interested, please find me (Errtai is the name) in-game, or apply through our website (link above). Thank you.
  3. Right after the release of Oricon (2 new ops and the Daily area), almost all our AFK players in the guild came back to the game. They probably had that email from BW and apparently Oricon and the new ops seemed interesting. It was nice to have them back and they all did the new ops once or twice with us. But then they disappeared again. I reached a few of them via pm's over the guild website and they all said "Hey mate, it's just the same old thing over and over again. I just don't have the will anymore". Which was true. A new operation gives you a new environment and new bosses with new mechanics, but what you do in those ops don't change. As a Sentinel, no matter where I go and which boss I fight, it's always Cauterize into Merciless Slash into Master Strike into bla bla bla for me. And there is not much room to "explore" our classes either. A Guardian tank can try Vigilance spec for DPS in PvE, or a Scoundrel healer may try Scrapper spec (or the other) to see his class doing some DPS, or a Shadow DPS may try Balance instead of Infiltration. But that's all. So no, we don't have many choices. So what I'm saying is: 1- Our current classes got boring after 2 years of doing the same old things. 2- We need new stuff. 3- New ops or Daily areas or whatever IS NOT new stuff. That's still doing the SAME thing. And now my suggestions: 1- Give each advanced class at least 1 new skill tree (2 would be awesome!). I mean, how about a Guardian healer? Great in single target healing, can move AND heal, sucks in AoE. Just a suggestion, don't bash me! Or how about a Scoundrel tank? I mean think about it, why not?! If a Shadow in light armor can tank, then a Scoundrel in medium armor would be an awesome tank! Or how about a melee Sage? Why not give Sages a reason to FINALLY use their lightsabers?! How about a ranged Vanguard DPS? How about a Sentinel pure AoE skill tree? Or how about a Commando pure AoE skill tree? This skill tree can fire Pulse Cannon from 30 meters, the cost of Plasma Grenade and the cooldown of Mortar Volley are significantly low, Hail of Bolts deals sh*tloads of damage and this spec has TWO new AoE grenade abilities. In return, however, this spec's single target DPS is significantly low. I mean just think about it! 2- Give each advanced class at least TWO new ability. This new abilities should be good and not just some situational thingy. So for example as a Watchman Sentinel, give me a new melee attack that I will aim to use only when my target has 3x Overload Saber stacks. Something like "this attack deals X damage plus X more for each burn stack the target has". Give Balance Shadows and Sages 2 more DoTs. And give them an ability that says "This one refreshes all DoTs on target". Give it a rather long cooldown but make it possible to refresh all DoTs by just one single ability! Wouldn't it be nice? Give Sharpshooter Gunslingers a new ability that will trigger Tricksot as well. I mean these are just the ones I can think of now; I'm sure BW is much better at coming up with new stuff than me! Just some ideas. Bottom line: Just give us reasons (note: plural!) to "re-invent" our classes. I personally think that this is the best thing you can do right now BW. Make me remember why I love my class so much and give me reasons to go to the dummy again and make me spend hours in front of it. Speaking of dummies, why don't we have a dummy for healers?! Thank you.
  4. Okay you'll love this one: Yesterday night, me and 2 other guildies enter groupfinder for a random sm ops. TfB pops up. I'm on my Vanguard tank. After I enter, I check the HPs of others; 22k dps, 23k dps, 27k tank... doesn't look too good but as long as they know what they're doing, it won't matter. Sadly that is not the case. Right at the first group of mobs everyone attacks everything, no CCs, no nothing, total chaos. Long story short, we somehow manage to get to the first boss. Fight starts and she enrages at 7% (in story mode!), but goes down (somehow). Well, that boss normally doesn't enrage no matter how bad your gear is; this way or another the group kills it before enrage timer. And just when I type "this group is hopeless" in gchat, my other guildie discovers that we're only 7. We are 2 tanks, 2 healers and 3 dps. Oh wait, where's the other dps dude? We look around and he's not here. Then we find out that he's on Alderaan!!! He's on freaking Alderaan!!! We tell him what the heck he's doing there and tell him to come over here asap and he says he doesn't know how to come!!! But is that all? Of course not! Even one of your dps is on Alderaan(!!!!), you can kill the boss within the enrage timer. Then we discover one other issue; our Shadow dps is actually a tank! In tanking gear even! We first ask him if he's aware that he's a tank and he says "yes". I tell him in ops chat "dude I've seen many dps que'ing as tank, but this is the first time I see a tank que'ing as dps". You know what he says? He says "my dps isn't bad". So the group kills the first boss with 3 tanks and 2 dps while the other dps was on Alderaan. After that point I say "since we have 3 tanks here, 1 of us can drop and that will be me" and leave and save me like 100k repair bills.
  5. My Legacy name is Darksaber. My first toon was a Sorcerer (deleted long time ago) and when I was thinking of a legacy name, the word lightsaber came to my mind. And just because I was a Sith, I thought replacing the word "light" with "dark" would fit well. But at the end my Sentinel became my main and I became a Republic player, so this Legacy name lost a bit of its appeal but I never thought of changing it.
  6. Hey mate! We need also raiders in <Nexus X>. If you feel like it, you can also check http://nexus.enjin.com/ or whisper any of our officers (Errtai, Erilyn, Cleopatria, Shensa or Vepsoo) in-game for more info.
  7. Nexus X is looking for new members. We need raiders to join us in defeating Republic's enemies in Terror From Beyond and Scum & Villainy hard modes. RDPS role is in high demand right now but any class or role is more than welcome. As long as you're able and willing to make progress in hard mode operations, you will have a spot in our raid teams. We have our website, TS and our 10% guild XP bonus, and repairs during raids are on the gbank. Either use http://nexus.enjin.com to apply, or whisper one of the officers (Errtai, Erilyn, Cleopatria, Shensa or Vepsoo) in-game for more info. Looking forward to hearing from you!
  8. This whole OTP thing is a complete fail. I waited over 1hr last Saturday to get the email. Just give up Bioware, this is nonesense.
  9. I already have the Republic Diehard title so I mainly worked on my Imperial toons this weekend. Took my Sniper from 1 to 20. My Mercenary from 12 to 20. My Assassin from 1 to 13. My Sorcerer from 53 to 53 (finished Makeb there though). And finally my Vanguard from 52 to 53. So yeah, it was fun.
  10. Awesome guide, thank you so much for this. I'm leveling a Gunslinger now, he's level 41 right now and thankfully I found this guide and now my whole way of playing the toon has changed. I had no idea that I was doing so many things wrong. Anyway a question: There are fights as you know, which require lots of movement. Directive 7 last boss or Scum&Villainy first boss are the ones that come to my mind right now. What do you do in those fights? I mean what do you do when you are not in cover and/or moving constantly? Which abilities you use? Thanks in advance.
  11. I personally like the new comms system. But on the other hand, I think the heroic missions on planets should be worked on again at some point. This game is not the same game it was 1,5 years ago when those heroic missions were first designed. Back then heroic missions were giving huge amounts of XP and that was the main reason why people were doing them. There was no other way to gain that much XP is such a short time. Now with those XP packs from Cartel Market, that 5% XP bonus from being in a guild, and the occasional double XP weekends, there is almost no reason to bother finding a group for heroics anymore. The solution could be adding some nice and rare loot to heroics. Maybe also tweak the XP they give as well? Then people will find a new reason to do them. Also heroic 2 missions should really be adjusted to be heroic 2. I think it's safe to assume that everyone is solo'ing them these days. They're especially easy if you're a healer or your offspec is healer.
  12. Hammer Station is hard. As a matter of fact it's hard AND confusing. After Esseles/BT, Hammer Station feels like a punch in the face. Most new players in this game are also new to MMO's. They don't know terms like "CC" or "adds" etc... Most DPS players don't know what a tank is; as a matter of fact, even some tanks don't know what a tank is, either. I even believe that Athiss is actually easier than Hammer Station even though it's for level 21 and Hammer Station is for 17 (recommended levels). Also healing in Hammer Station is incredibly hard; especially the last boss even with everyone knowing what they're doing. The fight is long and there are tons of damage going around and keeping everyone alive with your limited healing abilities and your horrible resource management is almost impossible. The first droid boss is also not easy. Oh and the infamous first pull with those 2 big droids... what a pain that is. The best thing is to ask if everyone did this before and then start. But then again, it's not always the solution because especially on my server where people are from tons of different countries, language can be a huge barrier to understand tactics. So enter the place at your own risk and just hope things will go smooth. Sadly that's the "wisest" advice I can give.
  13. Okay another one but this time the stupid guy in the story is unfortunately me. So we do False Emperor hm. There are those big droids walking around people tend to push off the edges as you know. It's one of those. Sage uses his knockback, the droid stays right at the edge but doesn't fall down. I, as the clever Sentinel, see that the droid is alive and Force Leap. While I'm in the air flying high like a hawk to my target and only a few miliseconds far away from it, the Guardian tank uses his Force Push. This time the droids falls off the edge. And I with it. So the other players see a Sentinel "successfully" Force Leap'ing into oblivion. One of them asks "How did you do that?!?". I reply "Don't ask" and continue.
  14. Doc heals me just fine. Upgrade his gear; you'll be amazed how good he is actually.
  15. Okay there is that pug Sage dps in the group. I realize that he's Telekinetics spec'ed but not using the correct rotation; as a matter of fact, he doesn't even have one. As the other guys are guildies, I tell them to stop a bit because I want to help this dude. I /whisper him what to do and at the end I say "Basically spam Disturbance until you have 3x Concentration or you get a free Telekinetic Wave". We continue but no changes. I /whisper again, "Dude spam Disturbance". After a rather long pause he replies back, "Yeah but I don't have spam in my skill tree". Facepalm.
  16. One other piece of advise I can offer to you is to join a guild. Your guildies will tolerate you and they will be willing to teach you how to play your class/role. Especially since you're a tank and tanks are scarce. We all started somewhere and a friendly guild could be a nice start for you.
  17. A few days ago, I'm on my Commando healer alt. Cademimu HM pops up. Tank is a Guardian and there are 2 Gunslingers. At the very first pull I hardly keep the tank alive and the mobs die just when we were about to wipe. Tank is either a very new player or he's main is a dps and he's on his alt. He leaps onto one mob, doesn't taunts anything, stays on that mob while the rest of the mobs slaughter the rest of us. The second pull, the same. We barely survive. One of the gunslingers warn him to use his taunt and attack multiple targets to get aggro. We continue and not much changes. There are long pauses between trash pulls, so I assume one of the dps guys is /whisper'ing him what to do. At some point one of the Gunslingers says he has to drop. A Vanguard dps joins. I love the class, I have one myself, very fun to play. He comes and sadly at the first pull I see that he's one of those Vanguards who think they are ranged dps. Mortar Volley, Sticky Grenade, Full Auto and his basic phew phew. Nothing else. Then later the other Gunslinger also drops. I seriously begin to worry. A Guardian dps joins. Apparently he's a tank and he's now trying his dps offspec. Always leaps first and pulls the mobs before tank, even uses his taunts. So after a couple of wipes, we finish the fp with a Guardian tank who thinks he's a dps, a Guardian dps who thinks he's a tank and a Vanguard dps who thinks he's ranged. For me it was really something to remember.
  18. Fixed that for you. A Sith is a Sith. You guys never change. Malgus v.2 is coming, I'm telling you.
