  1. Thanks. I hope this time I will stick with the game little longer. I have high tolerance for problems in new MMO games but SWTOR have two real problems that cannot be fixed without rebuilding the game: - this MMO is linear like hell (i was saying this long time ago - 4 levels per planet, 1 level per one zone on the planet) - and there is nothing to do after you hit 50 except grinding pants and shoes. I'm quite sure that I will play until I hit cap with one Rep and on Imp and then I will move until I find myself missing Star Wars again. Subscription options changed nicely. It's not a problem keeping it even if I play other games. Why ? From what I saw, comparing to old sub - here in Poland 1 YEAR subscription cost the same as 2,5 month subscription at launch. That is very very nice. And item shop is done nicely. Want to have speeder since lvl 10 ? Buy one or just wait until lvl 20 when you can really afford it. Item shop do what it should do. Speed things up without creating overpowered gods making game "pay 2 win". And I hope I'm no mistaken here. I hate p2w games.
  2. Hi, Recently I decided to check out SWTOR again. I'm one of the pre-orders (standard edition, digital stuff didn't appeal to me). I played since December to February just to throw away the game completely. I recently made small comeback since I just like Star Wars and there is no MMO in this universe except SWTOR. And I wanted to check out the game since Bioware made so many promises. To give it a fresh start I deleted my lvl 50 characters and other sidekicks and I started playing since the rock bottom with Sith Warrior (since in my first time I was playing Bounty Hunter and Imperial Agent). So first - why I left and after that - what I see after my "return of the Jedi. (PS: Sorry for my bad English) OLD WAYS: --------------------------------------------------------------- When I started playing SWTOR for a first time it made me happy. Leveling up was not some boring job and there were glowsticks in the game. Hell yeah!. Charm of the game disappear after I hit 50. From quite nice PVP where I could bring down high level player and should be careful about low levels I've entered competition when someone geared was wiping floor with me. - And I had to grid for some stupid pants for weeks just to be on equal terms with SOME of them. Stupid. - I realized that all "CHOICES" where just "for the show". No real choices with real consequences with few minor exceptions that were not even wort mentioning. - And all quests were about "killing 10-50 enemies" with another 10-30 as "bonus"... - Bioware nerfed my Operative to the point where there was no point playing game with him. And they nerfed him even more because "bunch of operatives in pvp could be dangerous...". At that time idiots didn't realized that with that - healers started dominating battlefield. Gather 8 healers, stay in group, do some crosshealing and wipe floor with everyone else. Simple and ALWAYS working tactic... - There was ability lag - Planets load like ETERNITY (Alderan anyone ?) - Everyone looked like attack of the clones... The game was garbage for me. RETURN OF THE JEDI: ------------------------------------------------------------------- After a year I decided to give SWTOR another go. - levels load faster (in my opinion) - games runs better (framerate keep on hitting 60 while year ago it was around 20-30 on highest settings) - no ability lag ? at least nothing pissing me off - game is much easier. I remember some quests or enemies giving me hard time - now it's all simple and easy - I level up much much faster. With knight on first planet after starting zone I ended up with level 20 without doing any PVP or any additional work - item shop is not overpowered - that also nice - i see more armor sets and stuff and some stuff here and there are reorganized - game have some memory leaks since while doing black talon I had to restart PC because framerate went down to 14. After restart, same place - 50-60 fps... - subscription is much much cheaper in my country - in PVP we quite often loose to Reps. That is also nice. Wiping floor with them over and over was boring - new warzones - hell yeah Much more players than year ago (F2P - good choice with this one) so playing the game is fun and I don't see it as walking in a ghost town. Continuation of this post - after I hit 50 and do some more PVP. Still I have no idea about class balance.
  3. Force is the germ that you can catch like a cold or something Lucas wanted to make things more simple. Wait until they will release: "Star Wars 7 - The Next Generation" when Luke will make a baby that is not force sensitive so he will sneeze on it - so child can become powerfull jedi that will bring balance to the force. Like that: Luke transfer force so his child can bring balance to the force
  4. Is WoW only MMO out there ? But what can you expect from themepark MMO ? It's not sandbox. If you don't like grind but constant progression, rich and complex gameplay etc - go play EVE Online OP.
  5. Before you start showing how BRILIANT you all are WHY not stop and think ? OP WAS JUST SAYING THAT Operative/Scoundrel is USELESS in HUTBALL. Problem is - that's quite oposite. For me most valuable class in Hutball ARE IN ORDER: ~ Sorc - bubble, speed, pull/rescue, push back ~ Assasin - stealth, speed, push back ~ Operatives - stealth ~ Warriors - jump ~ Powertech - great in defense because of grapple ~ Snipers - great when they stay on our bridge and troll middle ~ Mercenaries - same as above Sorc can just give a f*** and use forcespeed to go under bridge. Then he pass to Operative that was waiting in stealth on the other side. Score 5:0 then medal farming, now we just score 5:0, farm 4 medals and score 6:0. Same with assasins but our Sorc have no need to go under bridge. He pass to assasin that wait in stealth on lower bridge for a ball and use force sprint to score. Warriors are only class that can jump back on their own after push back. No need to waste rescure and they have that 5s immunity that makes them great on last meters. Powertech can make people swim in acid or burn in fire all the time with NO EFFORT. Great because most enemies in WZ are noobs that never pass the ball. Sniper on the bridge is a stronghold because no one can jump to him. They must move around. So it's easy for snipers to control middle. Mercs can do loot of killing using unload, tracer, rail and heat seeking missiles. And if anyone jump on them they just push enemy back from the bridge. So as you see - Operatives are VERY usefull. Too bad that Assasin can do the same but much much better.
  6. How is guard huge ? ~ 15m - not much when pull / graple have 30m range ~ Tank or guarded target must stay in range ~ so AOE work nice ~ Tank take 50% damage you deal to guarded target SO in other words ~ if 2 DPS attack tank and guarded person ~ tank get damage just because you attack his guarded target ~ tank get damage because he is attacked too ALSO: ~ tank in defensive stance build much less rage so except abilities like counter attack - tank deal less damage than normal because it's 2x longer for him to build rage So COUNTER for this ability is NOT IGNORING THE TANK. If guarded person is under fire and tank is under fire he will no longer die much faster but he also deal less damage than normal. l2p issue here I see
  7. Nope, but he know how to use skills ~ find forum ~ tell story ~ whine ~ complain etc... Worst part is that he will say now - that Operatives are OP and need more nerf because they lost 3 vs 1. Same thing like one noob complained here that he lost 4 vs 1 (worst part, he was one and there was 4 operatives) and Operatives are OP because of that... And as we learned - Bioware listen to their fans - they are nerfing Operative to the point when they will be unplayable.
  8. Biggest proof for that is when I joined in WZ with my 3 friends that know what they are doing before medal patch it was like this: ~ 5:0 for us in around 2m (best scenerio, my friend go to upper bridge and I carry ball below, people jump on my and I pass ball to him - they have all jumps etc on cooldown and he is alone with easy road to victory) ~ we were farming medals and stats for the rest of the match ~ most UGLY tactic we were doing is to kill few enemies (me as operative and they were focusing fire on my target [ sorc + powertech ] + warrior jugg ), get the ball... pass the ball to enemy and kill him :-D Lot of objective points for that one :-D
  9. Well most EPIC hutball player (I won't mention his name because it's a shame that people like that play in PVP) I ever encounter was pushed back under the bridges near enemy base. I was like 10m from him INSIDE THEIR BASE. All he need is to pass me the ball. All I need is to move like 5m and score. So I stand there like idiot and he fight some dude. Then 3 other jump him and killed him. He have LOOOOOT OF TIME to pass the ball (he was not under CC most of the time) and yet he didn't. They killed him, some players jump on me and killed me to (well obvious - i was standing in their base for almost 2m). I asked him on chat WHY THE HELL YOU DIDN'T PASS ME THAT BALL ?? He answered: I WAS FIGHTING YOU NOOB ! Did I mention - this guy had lvl 50 ?? This kind of noobs we have in WZ.
  10. And this is WHY our class is nerfed. Because people like Op complain like childs whine about something that they don't understand. He was BETTER and he OUTGEAR you. Simple as that. ~ WHY HE WAS ABLE TO RESTEALTH ? If he do this TWICE in a fight THEN answer is simple. NO ONE ATTACKED HIM. Operative can restealth right after the kill if no one else attacking him. So you DIDN'T EVEN HIT HIM ONCE. Any of you 2. ~ if you didn't stunkill him or kite him to death you are just terrible. Operatives are very easy to kite BECAUSE they have NO GAP CLOSER and their max range is 10m (except skills from cover and basic attack) while except mele class - everyone else have 30m range. ~ if he output this kind of damage, no one was protecting anyone, no one was healing, no one use CC, you did just literally nothing ~ I played Operative for long time (currently my main) and as low lvl Sorc healer with all utility and healing I have I can SOLO most operatives ~ It's easy to go in stealth behind some cover, heal and go back into fight in few seconds. 1 2,5s heal + 1 adrenal and you can go into fight in stealth with 100% HP. ~ I agree with guy above that at lvl 50 you encounter sometimes MORE noobs than at 10-49. Mostly because lot of people join PVP at lvl 50 with no experience, no skills, nothing. They just use 3 button for whole PVE and they do that in PVP. What can you expect from people that roll as Tanks, spec like nothing and gear like dps being terrible as DPS and even worst as tank. ~ it's clear L2P issue
  11. I'm AWESOME as he is. 1. When I go for score FIRST I check bridge on my side (he have more chance to switch bridge than me going to the other side under fire) 2. If I see someone between him and me that could pass the ball to him, I pass the ball 3. If I'm pushed back or pulled/grapled FIRSt I do is to look at bridges if I can pass to someone OR I move camera around to find someone I can pass - even if this kill me 4. When I see ball carrier I RUN IN FRONT and STOP to receive the ball - we move FASTER than they 5. When I see carrier pulled / pushed I POSITION myself to receive the ball What WOULD be AWESOME: 1. If you see me carrying the ball, GO TO THE BRIDGE so I can pass 2. If you see carrier and someone on bridges that is too far - position yourself to get the ball and pass it to guy in the bridge 3. If you see me pushed, pulled - DON'T JUMP TO "help me". Stay where you are (on the bridge) and prepare to receive the ball 4. If you see me carrying ball, RUN IN FRONT so you can get the ball. When you get the ball I will move in front, we will move like in natural speed 5. When I'm pulled / pushed, get ready to receive the ball
  12. 1 month of work so you wont be a punching bag for everyone else in WZ ? or a week or two if you don't want to be 3-shot all the time. And if you don't spend 2-6 hours a day in game then how long it will take ? So you came back from work, sit behind a computer in the evening to relax and... you work in game for 2 weeks or month or even longer to FINALLY have some fun ? Good job. EDIT// MY COUNTER TO OP If you tell us than terrible players are terrible and it's skill that matter then here is my counter. Terrible nolife players want gear grind and gear gap because they are terrible and it's only way to keep adults with brain and knowledge how to play their class as far away as possible for as long as the can is to keep it up. This is why I love experienced companies like ArenaNet that laugh on even IDEA of gear grind in PVP or gear as reward. EDIT// ABOUT GEAR GRIND Gear grind is good for PVE crowd. Only thing they have is to REPEAT OVER AND OVER same thing in game just to get +5 to their hat that will allow them to REPEAT OVER AND OVER same thing but on "higher lvl". It will not require better skill or anything - just higher stats. And they can't do it any other way and don't see any other way. PVE crowd want PVP with grind because they don't understand anything else. And they have NO IDEA how to beat someone BETTER in any other way that by gear gap.
  13. And this is proof for what ? They are terrible. Most of PVP people are noobs just because they don't learn. Even at lvl 50 just because most of them played PVE on lvl 50 and joined PVP at that point. I see ~ healers that on almost dead targets try to use long heal while they could shield him and then heal (people die before 2,5s heal kick in) ~ tanks that NEVER guard even in defensive stance ~ operatives that spam abilities so much that in few seconds are out of resources ~ sorcs that act as punching bag because they don't use force sprint outside hutball and they fail to use other abilities in right moment to kite etc ~ bounty hunters / trooper with their tracer / grav spam that interrupted make them run away or stand like idiots instead using other abilities So if EVEN BEST SORCS on your server don't kite you then it's ONE TERRIBLE SERVER with worst sorcs I EVER SEEN.
  14. Never. Last time some group went to Republic territory on PVP server they got warned because they were doing PVP on PVP server... So be careful when you go to Republic side because if you kill someone on PVP server from enemy faction then he can complain about you and you will get warning - and at some point they will probably ban you.
  15. You really are clueless. You see stealthed player FROM A FAR DISTANCE. Just TURN YOUR CAMERA AROUND. You should do that if you know that Scoundrel/Operative is in enemy team. Also just keep up your dam bubble. His opener will break on that. Then just push him back and kite him to death. Even after he open on you and take down that 30% just push him back (and root if you have spec for that) and kite him to death. If that don't work then run away using force sprint and kite him to death. Seriously - if you have hard time killing Operative right now then you are just terrible.
  16. Proof or didn't happen. My main class was Operative and after some nerfs and upcoming nerfs I decide to roll as Jugg (nice DPS and some nice utility) and Sorc healer (best healer and ton of utility). And I fought enough Scoundrels / Operatives to know better. Only people that you can beat as Operative at this point are ones that: ~ are slow and stupid ~ have no idea how Operative work ~ have no idea how to play their class ~ have around 20-40% HP from the start ~ was catch off guard ~ don't move at all Seriously. As lvl 20 Jugg once I encounter well geared lvl 49 Operative in Alderan. Because of gear and skill gap he could easly kill me. What did I do ? I snared him :-D And then I was running around stupid node. He was not in range so he could not use mele abilities and even overload didn't help him since node was between us. And my AOE snare is spamable. So I run around that node until 1 more player come to help me and we kill him. At lvl 50 I didn't even care about Operatives anymore. Their initial burst don't hurt me (26k HP), I have 2 defensive skills (40% damage reduction and shield that soak damage for few secodns - sabre ward), snare, taunt, quite nice damage and I can keep sustained dps while they don't. More to that - when I force leap I'm immune to CC for a moment. Seriously - I can just run around quite a while with some Operative on my back. I can't say the same for any other class.
  17. As far as I know Sage is mirror to Sorc and have same abilities. As I red on Torhead you have same bubble as me (30s, soak damage, 4,5s cooldown and can be used on target every 20s) so you can be protected WHOLE TIME. And because of that Operative can't ambush you out of combat. You get it at lvl 14. So turn off your tunnel vision and start using that shield. It's not hard to bind close "target self" and that force bubble. As I understand you should have all other abilities. That funny skill of yours that throw dirt at people also slow down people. OP have stunbreaker but as I said - gain distance and snare - stun is not needed here. If things will get too hot just sprint away. Also - stun breaker ? Sorry but all I need is to stun them so they "break" and then lift them. Few seconds of nothing that I can use to heal myself 100%. For the god sake, he have no gap closer, his range is 0-10 while yours should be 0-30 and if you don't stand in one place like some kind of punching bag but you MOVE then he have NO WAY to kill you.
  18. Then your sorc is just poor. I play Sorc healers and I can rotfl on Operative. I stay away from combat and heal. But I keep my bubble up. Buble that can soak lot of damage, can last up to 30s and... have 20s cooldown. So unattacked I can be protected all the time. So initial burst just breaks on that bubble and I can do WHATEVER I want to Operative. ~ push back and snare spamming lightning - forever for them to get close and they take ton of damage ~ force sprint away a little and do this again ~ push back is on short cooldown so I can use it quite often ~ if I'm hybrid sorc I can also root them ~ i still have stuns ~ i still have my bubble on low cooldown ~ i always can combine push back + root + force sprint + stun and have ENOUGH time to heal myself to 100% and start over again ~ and he will be out of resource and some point ~ while I have no need for resource managment If you loose to Operative 1vs1 then you are just terrible. ~ turn off your tunnel vision, turn camera around and you see them comming ~ always keep bubble on yourself This way ONLY way for Operative to attack and kill you is when you are in combat with another player. So it's quite like any other class fighting 2 vs 1 - you are dead. Seriously - right now ONLY advantage Operative has is to ambush noobs or busy players. Nothing more.
  19. Yeah right If we talk about BM gear then you are just so wrong on all levels. First of all at lvl 50 you have BIG HP buff. Seriously - My Jugg have 26k HP. I saw Jugg with 30k HP. For Operative it would take forever to take them down. And heals... you can forget about taking down healers too. Especially if I use shields, 40% damage reduction, taunt that is almost spammable and have 30% damage reduction on target and AOE snare that allow me to get out or Operative range ANY TIME I NEED. If they change burst to sustained then I can play Mara or Jugg. What is the point playing simple mele dps that have no gap closer or anything ? I can get close to my target with ANY class except Operative. Stealth burst only class was great for tactical use. Aid friends in combat, taking down healers etc. It was class that focus on finding weak targets (unprotected sorcs, players with no defensive on them, wounded targets, targets already busy in combat etc) and ambush them. But like you said - right now EVERYTHING that Operative can do - Assasin can do better. This is why I no longer keep my subscription. My main character got nerfed to the ground, WZ are getting nerf to scare away PVP crowd and there is no ETA on character tranfer, changes in Open World PVP and as we just learned few days ago - bioware warn people for doing open world pvp on pvp server... Next hope for PVP folk like me is GW2.
  20. He is just a troll that know nothing about Operatives, everything look the same for him but he wanted to write a comment. Small correction. On 1.2: But that guy know better... because people like him, clueless that just whine because "we spam 1 button all the time" we got nerfed. Bioware said it. We are not nerfed because we are OP. They nerf because people complain that 4 Operatives kill them. MORE to that - one buy on this forum was raging about how he lost fight against... 4 operatives. HE WHINED that 4 Operatives killed him... It's like Bioware don't want people roll Operatives at all.
  21. Do you have lvl 50 Operative ? When I switched class because as Operative I was tired of ~ only be able to attack half dead targets ~ only be able to kill unprotected by bubble Sorc I just noticed how bid difference is between Operative and any other class after surge and ap nerf. When you know how to play Operative you know how to counter them and for the love of god - i counter them nice. Right now as Powertech I can have Operative on my back and give a ****. Same with Jugg. Jug on top of that have +26 HP and with their damage it would take them forever to kill me. As Sorc healer I don't give a f*** because their initial burst is just faceroll that don't even break my bubble (20s cooldown) and I still have force speed, push back on low cooldown, stuns etc to keep him away from me. And with no gap closer they are not a threat. And as healer I can just IGNORE them because they have NO WAY to put me down 1vs1. When I notice Operative or Scoundrel on the map I just keep my bubble and when my buble is down I turn camera around and reposition myself. That's it (sorc healer). When they are close I just kill them. How ? Simple. ~ first push back, that rotfl class have no way to get close after that. ~ Then I spam all kind of lightning to slow them down and kill them ~ if they get close I use force speed, take distance and repeat ~ even if they can get close after that I can use push back again ~ EVEN if by some ungodly power they will be able to attack me - I still have bubble and I can spam that thing on my because it last LONGER than cooldown I have on it that prevent me from using it It's so simple and stupid to kill Operatives that I have no idea how I was able to play it before. Probably because 99% folks on WZ have tunnel vision and sometimes they even ignore ball carrier passing by. l2p ? extremly bad ? I can kill you any time you want if you are Operative and you have no ways to do any damage. Only way for you to attack with some success is to catch me IN COMBAT with another player with my bubble down. That's the only way. From opportunistic bastards Operatives became just vultures that try to kill only things that are almost dead or already in combat with another player.
  22. Ok... then I have one. As lvl 50 I was not dark V so I decide to farm dark side points in flashpoint. So I was inviting up to 3 that say OK to speed run and I was doing speed run leaving all items for them. And I was doing it for around 2 hours total.
  23. So in your one sided opinion ~ Operative should not by able to kil anyone ~ Operative should not be in ANY USE except stunning ~ He should not be able to kill anyone 1vs1 ~ All he should do is to annoy people ? Don't know if you trolling or you just ...
  24. I just unsubbed and I'm waiting for Guild Wars 2. No point doing PVP while WZ are getting killed ( credit nerf ), you can be warned and probably banned for Open World PVP on PVP server ( latest news ), Ilum is dead and my favorite Operative class is getting nerfed to the ground because as George said - people complain that Operatives kill people... If PVP don't want PVP people in their game then all we can do is - FIND ANOTHER GAME.
  25. I told my friend to stay away from the game 2 days ago. That counts ?
