  1. Eventually, an arena-like system such that WoW has will be released upon this game. Not only do I think this will be one, if not the best, feature this game has seen so far, but I also think it will add to the pvp player base. I was just thinking to myself what would be some pretty dynamic 2's compositions. So far, I've come up with: Sorc (heal hybrid) + Operative Assassin (deception) + Mercenary (healer) Marauder + Mercenary (healer) Operative + Assassin (deception) Sniper + Sorc (healer) Sorc + Sorc (anything, really. lol) Operative + Operative These are very very few of the compositions I've been able to think of as excelling. It seems almost everything is viable, it's quite beautiful.
  2. "Assassins have a pull and a knockback". Well, from the sounds of your post, it looked like you rolled an operative looking for that bursty stealth style of play, with a hint more utility than the operatives have. Fair enough, but the spec you are speaking of is darkness, which is not the damage spec, but the tank spec rather. Deception is probably what you're looking for, but you don't get your force pull as deception. You do get a couple of stuns and a knockback, just minus the force pull.
  3. Well, seeing as you are pretty low of a level, you won't be getting much use from anything at all in your trees. Maul should almost solely be used if you are deception! I play all three specs, I enjoy changing between them weekly, but I'm an avid darkness fan. While leveling, until I got closer to level 20, I mostly just popped recklessness when I could, and shocked my life away. I always opened with a shock and a discharge (if there are multiple mobs), then a force pulse (if there are multiple mobs). The honest truth is, at the level you are at, you won't have a whole lot of options for skill rotation, the same goes for every class. The bright side is, you level relatively fast, so keep on trucking. Good luck!
  4. I'd like to first say that there are a lot of things I like about the PVP system that TOR offers, and a lot of things I don't. I'm gonna list, in my opinion, PVP's best points, and also the things I believe need to be looked at, followed by an explanation for these bad features. GOOD: -I actually like the bolster system. I think it's a good idea and makes games fun and involved; whilst still allowing the advantages where they are due for higher leveled players. -I like the MVP vote system, it gives players a reason to really pound it out, and anything that adds pressure makes it fun. -I think H-ball has a very unique design and brings a diverse game setting to the table. *There surely are more good features, these are just the most appealing to me. BAD: -Uneven players on each team gets annoying, I'd like to see teams be rostered up before allowing entrance. -I don't like how you can't pull up a progress page during a WZ to see how you're currently doing. -I don't like that you don't have an indicator to tell you exactly what the medals you have gotten are for if you miss the text. -I don't like the fact that there are only three WZ maps. -I don't like the progression into end game pvp (BM grinding, etc.) -I HATE HOW WINS DON'T COUNT SOMETIMES (expressive, I know). -I don't like how healers don't get more credit in WZ's, they need medals exclusively for them. -I don't like how there's no deserter system, it gets annoying. -PVP needs to yield more rewards. -I don't mind making attempts to balance the game, but avoid OVERBALANCING. The 20% nerf to OPs burst was an example of an overnerf. -Provide us with achievements. -An arena system in the future. -Provide a "rating" system, or any type of bragging system for that matter for those that have more experience and accomplishments pvp-wise. -Aesthetics need to be improved in a few areas, gear and environment wise. -Hold tournaments, more quests. (slay 30 enemies in a WZ, etc etc). -Last but not least, LISTEN TO YOUR FAN BASE, WE HAVE GOOD IDEAS, PROBABLY BETTER THAN YOURS, USE THESE FORUMS AND DON'T IGNORE US. LET US KNOW WE HAVE A SAY IN THE GAME THAT WE PAY FOR. And finally, my explanation to a lot of these problems. TOR was a word in progress for a long, long, loonngg time. Most people don't realize how long this game has been a project. The launch date was so anticipated, that it was heavily rushed. They did not want to release it so soon, there were still bugs and fixes, but corporate pressure, fanatic pressure, etc etc, forced an early release. And speaking of early release, it is only a couple months old. Give it time. I hear so many arguments about how WoW has arena, and so many pvp options. Who remembers when WoW was Warsong Gulch, Arathi basin, and Alterac Valley at 60? I do, and it took a hell of a long time for all of the cool pvp feature it holds to be released. I guess what I'm trying to say is, no, this game is not perfect, and yes this game is still young, but there is a future. For those who have decided to ride out the bugs and lack of content to watch things be released and get to experience the MMO evolve first-hand, we will reap the benefits. It will get better with time, that's my two cents.
