  1. "Rey is x!" "Snoke is x!" Does no one want to consider that Rey is simply Rey and that Snoke is simply Snoke? God forbid the geniuses at Star Wars create some original characters, eh? Besides, we know who Snoke is. He is heavily alluded to in the books. Palpatine was aware of an extremely powerful dark side entity calling to him from unknown space. He set up a secret listening/research outpost on Jakku from where they were eventually going to stage expeditions into the Unknown Regions. After his death, Jakku eventually became the site of the Empire's final stand, where the survivors were forced to flee and eventually founded the First Order. Most likely, they found Snoke (or more likely, Snoke found them). In summation: Snoke is Snoke.
  2. See, that's the real question: Will Disney use their streaming service for products geared towards children/teens? Sure, Netflix has had widely successful TV-MA shows, but I think Disney will want to keep Star Wars at 14A, even if it's a strong 14A. Star Wars has, from the very beginning, been about for the kids, and I don't think they'll want to change that.
  3. I think the most LIKELY series we'll get right out of the gate is the one that George had conceived several years ago. He was initially going to develop a live action series (for ABC, I think, but I could be wrong) with the working title of "Underworld." The idea was that it would be set in Coruscant's underworld during the early days of the Empire. I think the project was officially killed in the Disney buyout, but from what I understand, there was some work done on it, and Lucasfilm has a habit of saving EVERYTHING for posterity, meaning that the early preproduction notes are still kicking around somewhere. I don't know if that's the one I WANT; I don't have a particular setting in mind since I'm pretty much happy to consume any and all that is Star Wars anyway. But that's my guess as to what they're working on.
  4. Not to mention that as powerful as sorcery truly is, it often requires preparations, something Palpatine did not have in that moment. "I must say you're here sooner than I expected." Also worth noting: How much of that final bit was Palpatine trying to defeat Windu, and how much was him appearing weak to persuade Anakin? Palpatine is sort of an anomaly, because as powerful as he was, he played games that were so subtle, sometimes we can only postulate as to their full extent.
  5. Between Brick and Looper, Rian Johnson's storytelling abilities are phenomenal. If anyone's going to start a new trilogy dealing with material that has never been seen before, I'm glad it's him. That's long-term potential. The short-term is this: If they're already happy to just hand him the reigns to a new trilogy, imagine about confident the must be in The Last Jedi?
  6. My fellow Canadians: Raise your Tim's high and let us know where you're at!
  7. Is this actually happening?
