I think a lot of folks here are right. the old style of MMO business model is failing. People get bored too easily these days. We have been over stimulated over the last several years and now our expectancy is through the roof. That said, this game really does fall far short of what anyone in 2012 should be looking for in an MMO. It was build using an engine me or you can use for free. What did anyone actually expect from budget software? Like really, the next best MMO? If your reading this unhappy with the game the way you need to be looking is GW2. It will be the next large MMO purely because they are not being rushed to publish. When it is done it will be polished and spanking. EA ruins every title they publish with their inability to wait until the product is done. Check our their MMO history.

I want to know why the advertisement videos show high quality textures enabled and these are not even an option in the live product. Compare your game to the links in this thread. Compare your game to the "cut scenes" and see the difference. In 2012 an MMO should have high settings.

I've been around a whole bunch. Check out the latest threads in the past hour over half have been closed within a few posts. I think the mods are stepping up their game and trying to put out the dissent by silencing those not happy.

How long before this thread is closed? Anyone else noticed the mods shutting down anything negative?

Aye. People are upset because they were lied to. Want proof? Check the trailers. They show in game footage with high quality textures. Beta had high quality textures. Suddenly in launch they are gone. The official word is "they are working on it" working on what? Turning on features you knew the engine couldn't handle live but used to sell us your product? Guys this is typical EA. I came here hoping BW had some decency. I'll be playing until I stop enjoying the game and/or something else comes along. GW2 anyone? There is a game that will produce results.

This game has PISS POOR graphics. Before you disagree, have a look in game at your characters clothing. Go on. See that? Low res. I could paint better in paint! Yet even with PISS POOR graphics this game runs like I'm playing on a toaster. Funny how I can run WoW faster with HIGHER quality textures. Funny how I can play BF3 on MAX settings at a steady 40+ FPS. Fan boys this one you can't win. The evidence is right in front of your eyes.

EQ2 is still a decent game, not played it for a good while but it is neat. You'll probably enjoy it a lot more than this game if you enjoyed EQ. Have fun!

They spent the money making hype. It worked we are all here. They made that money back in launch sales. That is the business model EA follows. They have never yet published a long standing title. It isn't how they play ball. It isn't too late because a lasting MMO was never on the cards. We all knew that we just didn't want to believe. As soon as you stop having fun start playing something else. That is how MMO's work these days.

Lets just be honest. As soon as GW2/Tera comes out we are all gone. BW know this. Why would they sink more money into a game they knew was dead at launch? They made bank on the launch sales, everything else is cream on the cake. They will let this title slowly dwindle then close down the servers having paid off their new home payments the cars etc.

I'm going to see what happens with the next larger patch. I'm clinging to hope they will sort this game out. Love it or not you have to admit it needs some pretty big changes. I hope they can do it. If not, I'll play GW2 when it comes. I know I'll get a quality game there as I loved GW. Until there I enjoy what I can and ***** about all the things I can't.

How *did* this get through beta? I wouldn't of signed off on it had I been part of the testing process. What numpties told them it was a great game? Come on, beta testers own up!

BW *need* to spend some serious cash and hire on a dev team in addition to what they have now to quickly turn this title around or it won't last. Here is the issue though guys. Modern MMO's like this don't need or want to stay open long. They make all of their bank from the sales which happen in the first quarter. They don't care if in a year this game is dead. They already cashed in. Check out the other MMO's of the last couple of years. It is the business model they use these days. They build a cheap cookie cutter MMO which draws in the fans then ditch it. EA is famous for it, why would BW suddenly do something different too? I'm a huge fan and I hoped for something different I really did. The days of MMO's trying to maintain themselves is over however. Play until your bored then move on. I HOPE I'm wrong. Time will tell. If BW don't start bringing out the content they won't have a game in 3-6 months. I bet you though half the swtor team is already working on the next MMO which will last just as long. They will use the same engine, the same crappy graphics and the same weak system. We are in a global recession. This is how business works now. Cheapest possible input for maximum profit.

Seriously, two locked threads... Still no answer from the dev team? Really? Guys, just share some info. Let us know what your thinking. We'd like some UI options. Something you can do? If not, why not?

Disappointing

A decent code monkey could do this in a day. All of the code work is already there, it would be cut and paste for the most part. The largest job would be the new GUI... Bioware can't get GUI's down right. That would take 3-4 patches.

So, we are some 200+ pages now, this and the last thread which was *maxed* out. We have down time tomorrow... Where is the mention of a fix for the issue we have raised? No where. Am I surprised? Nope. If this is what we can expect this MMO will last as long as all the other failures. When we a dev team start 1) Testing 2) Listening?
