  1. AMAZING POST. Perhaps blatant logic will help people understand the mechanics of what they're asking.
  2. The fact that the OP is complaining about bug fixes as one of the QoL features that we "haven't gotten" tells me that the OP doesn't read patch notes. If the OP read patch notes, the OP would be able to list the 30 bug fixes that were implemented with patch 2.1 including things like the fact that both fleets and several planets have had their shard population caps reduced to reduce lag. But since the OP failed to mention even ONE of those QoL fixes, I have to chalk this post up to a disgruntled player venting their frustration at what they perceive to be Bioware's failure to address issues they feel are important. Hey, I have no problem with you saying, "I want such and such and Bioware has not provided such and such which is frustrating to me for the following reason." But to say "Bioware has not done such and such" when they clearly HAVE done "such and such" is simply incorrect.
  3. Bioware was very specific about the F2P restrictions leading up to the change. It's not their fault you didn't read them before you let your account go F2P. They have some options for everyone when it comes to space missions, war zones, flashpoints and operations. You can subscribe and get unlimited access, buy the weekly pass, or your can buy nothing yet still get a chance to try them to see if you like them. You obviously like them so it sounds like you've made a choice that works for you in subscribing. Hopefully you continue to have a good time.
  4. I don't get that much lag on the fleet but I would STILL welcome this as an option.
  5. I have a legitimate question, what do you do about people who are in the queue and they land in a wz that someone has just bailed on and the team they "join" is getting murdered? Should they have to stay in that wz? I have been placed into many voidstars and huttballs where my I wake up to discover my team is either defending the datacore door or down 4-0. It would suck for me that I have to stay in that wz in order to avoid a deserter debuff.
  6. Well for those of you who didn't like my Hobbit comparison, here's some other ones for you. Right now on Fandango you can preorder tickets for Monster's University, (sequel to Monster's Inc.) The Hangover Part III, Grown Ups 2, The Wolverine, 300: Rise of an Empire and Insidious: Chapter 2. None of these movies have trailers or expanded information released about them at this time, yet I can go preorder tickets for all of them. The final Harry Potter book was available for preorder prior to it's release and nobody knew anything about what was in it until information leaked illegally about 4 days before the release date. Cee-Lo Green's "Lady Killer" album was available for preorder with only 1 track available to hear. The point of the comparison was that you are not required nor are you penalized for not preordering RotHC. And they've released the same amount or more information as most other companies do concerning upcoming products.
  7. This is such a dead subject. Seriously. People want to compare WoW's expansion to SWTOR's expansion but they want to gloss over the details. If you compare the information that was available about M.O.P. when M.O.P. became available for preorder, it was pretty darn close to the information that was available about RoTHC when it became available for preorder. Yet for some reason, only SWTOR gets the beat stick. Also, since when does making something AVAILABLE for purchase constitute said company DEMANDING you purchase it? Never once has Bioware said you will be penalized for not preordering. They've offered a reward for those who do preorder, but absolutely no penalty for those who don't. If you're so upset about the "lack of information" concerning this expansion, why are you so upset about not getting 5 days of early access to it? The Hobbit: The Desolation of Smaug doesn't open until December 13th of this year. There are no trailers for it. The only piece of information about it is a teaser poster that has Bilbo's face on it. Yet you can "preorder" your tickets to this movie on Fandango right now. I don't see anyone complaining about that...
  8. I actually had this happen to me as well. Called customer support, he had me log out and log back in. That fixed the problem for me but he also told me to try restarting the entire client and if that didn't work to call back for further assistance. They were very helpful.
  9. Just stop with the "we don't know anything about Makeb" stuff. First of all, Bioware is not telling you that you HAVE to pre-order the expansion. They're saying that if you pre-order by the 7th, you'll get 5 days of early access. If you don't pre-order by the 7th, you pay $10 if you're a subber, and $20 if you're not a subber. As far as information: We know right now the level cap is increasing to 55. We know right now that we will be getting one new active ability, 5 talent points, and and changes to the talent trees of each class. We know there will be new dailies. We know there will be new heroics. We know the individual class stories will not continue, but instead Makeb will center around 2 faction specific stories. We know the story surrounding Makeb. We know the gear we'll be getting will not make our current gear obsolete. We know Makeb is at least the same size as Belsavis. Now if you want MORE information than we have that's fine, but to post that we don't know ANYTHING about the expansion can't be more false.
  10. Obviously you don't follow the information the developing team releases. They stated over a week before the last update that the developers were going to be taking the holidays off and that it would be about 9 weeks in between the last update and the next one.
  11. They didn't specify whether it would be pvp only.
  12. They didn't give any details as to HOW the current equipment will remain relevant, only that it will remain relevant and not become obsolete.
  13. According to Hall Hood and Rob Hinkle, the relaunch of Ilum is the next scheduled world event. It should be coming sometime before RotHC so anywhere between January and April.
  14. The developers have already answered this question by saying the gear that we have now will NOT become obsolete with the introduction of the new expansion.
  15. I agree. The whole reason I posted this was to clarify the question about the pricing. People are wondering how much the expansion costs and I posted these three links to answer that question.
  16. http://www.swtor.com/support/helpcenter/7145 http://www.swtor.com/support/helpcenter/7151 http://www.swtor.com/support/helpcenter/7141 Here are 3 links to the FAQ that specifically state the price point for subbers and the price point for non-subbers and what you get if you pre-order by 7 Jan.
  17. How does the FAQ not count as being official? It says right there that the price for subs is $9.99. The price for non-subs is $19.99. If you pre-order before 7 Jan you get 5 days of early access. I mean it can't get more clear than that. Does Jeff Hickman have to come to your house and tell you this information face to face for you to believe it?
  18. I never said the prices were identical. I said the FAQ specifies the prices for subs and the price for non-subs. Sorry if you misunderstood.
  19. I guess that's apples and oranges then. It sounds to me like your problem is that you don't feel the CONFIRMED content is worth the money. If that's the case that's fine. I thought your problem was you felt the developers have made this expansion available for purchase without giving the players any new information about what content will be in the expansion. This has been my point from the beginning. I personally feel they HAVE released new information about what content will be in the expansion. I have never said anything about whether or not that content is worth the price they're asking us to pay.
  20. It's in the FAQ. It specifically states the price for subs and the price for non-subs and in a separate bullet statement it states you will get 5 days of early access if you pre-order by 7 Jan.
  21. You can't compare M.O.P.'s CURRENT web page that details everything in the expansion which is LIVE to RotHC's available information because RotHC isn't live yet. What you should do is compare the amount of info that was available on M.O.P. at the time it became available for pre-order to the amount of information available about RotHC at the time it was made available for pre-order. If you do that, the amount of information is comparable.
  22. Correct me if I'm wrong, but M.O.P. was made available for pre-order in July with confirmed new race, class, continent, level cap and pet battle system. Rise of the Hutt Cartel has been made available for pre-order with confirmed new planet, level cap increase, class abilities and talents, heroic missions, daily missions and faction specific story arcs. Seems very comparable. Do you feel that Blizzard was equally lacking in asking WoW players to purchase M.O.P. without giving them adequate information?
  23. The June video SPECIFICALLY highlighted "New Level Cap and Class Abilities". You saying "it was pretty obvious that it'd be 5 new levels, no other number would really make sense" is purely conjecture. There were lots of people who were claiming the level cap HAD to go up by at least 10 otherwise there'd be no point. "New class abilities" is not nearly as detailed as them specifying the fact that we are going to get one new active ability, new talents and 5 new talent points for each class. So I'll say once again, claiming the developers haven't released any new information about the expansion is false. We didn't even know anything about the story that was going to surround this expansion in June.
  24. So when the teaser for The Hobbit came out last year, you were under the impression that it would be free to go to the movies to watch it?
