  1. Not the biggest issue in the world, but assuming this is an oversight due to integrating a preview into loadouts and not actually a technical limitation, it would be nice to revert this. Thanks.
  2. I like everything about the UI except that this all-in-one window is too large. I'd like it if you could remove the inventory (it doesn't really make sense to be there) and see if you can remove the other stuff that goes on that side?
  3. I'd like to echo the general sentiment that starting as a Shadow feels extremely empty on Tython compared to doing the same thing on live. This was already an impaired experience, but now it's downright barren. The new Shadow kit is extremely streamlined -- much more than any other class (except, obviously, Assassin) and it can afford to have 'missing parts' less than others as a result. Bringing Stealth or Force Stun a little earlier would help, but even if Force Wave is a mostly useless ability for the game as currently designed outside of PvP, it felt good to have and it was fun. Personally, I'd bring Cleaving Cut online much earlier as a baseline ability and then give it substantial upgrades as an option later on: one upgrade to grant it the effects and additional animation of Force Wave (since it's already meant to be kind of a "grouping/space" skill) and the other to grant it the additional effects it gets per-discipline. I wouldn't say no to getting TK Throw back in some tweaked form that moves it towards utility as we get higher (30m range but still its low damage?). Something so it's just not dreadfully barren as it is right now.
  4. If anyone else googles and finds this thread half a year later: the solution is to log out and log back in, apparently. I logged out for a while and did other stuff, came back, door was open.
  5. There appears to be a door stuck here. Forgive the choppy video quality, but my system isn't really built to record -and- play the game at the same time. I don't see any switches. What am I missing? Thanks in advance.
  6. Likewise confirmed, as well as phase workaround.
  7. I have been surprised by the fact that saber pikes have never been made available. It reminds me of how few shotos we have (not withstanding that they're already a bit too large for shotos).
  8. You can only pull off tanking for the tank in content you seriously overgear, IMX. Remember, we're well past the gear level 55 HMs were made for - and even so, there's a very obvious difference in survivability between a 168 or 180 DPS and even a 156 tank. Any other situation, you're a temporary off-tank.
  9. No, anything that lowers the importance of tanks in flashpoints is good. WoW and EQ had major tank prima donna syndrome; I am glad this game does not. It also made tank the only interesting role in dungeons until they diversified. The more the tank is responsible for handling everything, the harder the role becomes for new people, as well as increased bottlenecks. The current setup allows for flexible offtanking, which I deeply enjoy - both as a tank and as a DPS. Conversely, I am happy that this game gave tanks serious importance (when played well) in warzones. Compared to older MMOs in this genre, SWtOR's tanks are much more "balanced", while in early WoW they were the gods of PvE, forgettable appendices in PvP.
  10. Been a tank since beta. Being DPS is relatively new for me (Healer for most of WoW), but enjoying it. Tanking flashpoints isn't that hard, and if the group is solid (DPS and healer both geared) but the tank is taking forever and doing a bad job of it, I will start pulling for him. Gotten the "you pull it, you tank it" response once for that, the healer told him to shut up because we didn't need to wait three minutes between last pull and tanking the boss repeatedly. I also make special allowances for tanks that are new and trying to learn, but when I'm waiting on the tank heavily and they're not even making an effort to protect their healer, I want to start speeding things along. Doesn't sound like that happened to OP though.
  11. ^ As an avid PvPer, this game doesn't even have the competitive support that WoW does, and win-trading was a problem in that game even before the addition of battle.net communication. bnet didn't make it any worse. "Because PvP" is the worst reason to not allow cross-faction channels. As for whispers, we really need cross-faction friend lists already.
  12. They're merging planet comms and basics for SoR anyway, I heard. (Someone correct me if I'm wrong, just in-game chatter I overheard.)
  13. It's not like in-game contact is worth the transistors it goes through. The CS wasn't bad at launch, it's basically non-existent now.
  14. Darth Malgus is nearly wearing a straight-up rip, sans the helmet.
  15. It really is. There are some *very odd* things borrowed from WoW.
  16. My Reaction to Companion Specific Missions in... KotOR 1/2: "Oh, guess I'll just pull the armor off of Atton and throw it on Mira." Mass Effect 3: "Pick talents for Liara and I'm good to go." SWtOR: "AGH NO ONE ELSE IN MY PARTY USES THIS GEAR AND HE'S LIKE THIRTY LEVELS OUT OF DATE." I should be saying, "hooray, depth on a character I want to know more about", but I'm actually saying "I'm switching back to Treek/HK-51/Nadia (depending on character) as soon as possible." The more ways you give us to level up quicker, the more pronounced the problem is - but it was a problem even with the original leveling rate. My main cannot just take Zenith out for a spin - the gear (and thus performance) difference between him and Nadia or Treek is too big, so I am actively gimping myself just to remember that he exists. I'd love to say "throw our companion equipment entirely, give us a companion customization tree just like WoW has a hunter pet talent tree." And I think a companion skill tree or discipline path would be nice. But the main thing is, if they're below a certain level of power, PLEASE BOLSTER THEM. Thanks.
  17. This is why shadows lost self-healing, yes; it wasn't because of the hybrid spec.
  18. Intended isn't the same weight as actually released.
  19. From the aspect of "fun", no, there is no objective determination. From the point of view of "best for minimizing difficulty in solo content with scoundrels", there is almost certainly an objective answer or three, and I am doubtful that yours are among them. And as a general rule, people attempt to make their characters to minimize their difficulty or time spent with their preferred area of content, so long as it does not take too much work unto itself. Otherwise, we'd see more "look ma, no advanced class" people.
  20. Max, I understand a lot of top-tier talents LOOK unimpressive at first glance. That doesn't mean that they are. Compared to WoW, this game has a lot less spreadsheeting and spec elitism than that game did when they were on the high granularity talent model. The classes' top end damage potentials are also further apart than most of the ones in WoW at that time, and this doesn't bother most people. So when people care to take their talent trees up to 36 - 39 points, it isn't for a slight damage increase - it's for a very real increase in damage and often survivability.
  21. It's been a while since I've played unmodded KotOR 2, but I'm pretty sure HK-51 never actually appears in the release version of the game, and thus its appearance in that game was not canon. A few more color swaps for him would be good, sure; I don't really use him, myself.
  22. I moved away from Shadow tank in PvP because it just feels far too clumsy for my taste anymore - getting four stacks of shadow protection is a major reward for consistent playing in PvE, but it's not worth it for PvP. I just taunt a lot as Balance now. I wouldn't be surprised if a Discipline option for Kinetic Combat allows a choice between self-healing or DR on telekinetic throw - it would be an easy way to handle the issue.
  23. Well, you have a lot of options from past canon. But generally the options would have to be faction-specific or faction-generic (like the Statue of Eternal Grace), since I'm hoping we avoid getting any idiotic Fordring/Stormrage/Thrall/Taran Zu shenanigans here.
  24. I'm on an RP server and it seems half the people have it regardless. I flavor it as Force Levitate anyway.
