  1. Throwing more developers at a product doesn't make it better, in most cases. Usually it takes a "new guy" one to two years to be more productive than he costs the other developers by asking stuff he must get to know. *shrugs* So, unless they have a closed off segment that is really easy to get into with clearly defines interfaces and proper documentation "invest the money into the game" just doesn't work the way amazon hires storage people. Cinematics COULD be totally disjunct from the rest of the product. So if there are excess marketing funds and ambition: that might be a cool way to 'improve' and get some "oooohs and aaaaahs".
  2. I actually like to chat. But then again I'm also a wow vet. And to simply answer your question: - Wow community is way worse (even with raidfinder) - Wow Interface kicks sw:tor all over the place - In swtor hardly anyone uses dmgmeters. That is a good thing. - Content: Story, Mood, Immersion, Classes: Swtor wins - Performance, PvP.Arena-mechanics: WoW wins. and so on... If you like "pro-gaming", and "simple": WoW If you like "story" and "customize": Swtor Well... just one opinion.
  3. Thug Guards (Wookies, Droids, Criminals, Mandalorians...) Meaning Guards that are loyal to my Character - be it through story or for the credits... not the imps or reps. Tents Like you see in every Campsite all over swtor Ruble As in broken house parts Scorch-Decals, Gunshot Marks, Burns, Scratches, Bulletholes, Blood stains, ... It's not that uncommon for someone to have the bad idea of beating a wookie in ... well whatever game. Mounted weapons & Turrets (the Fire-Turrets from the DK quest i.e.) Surveilance cameras and a matching Screen? Single Shuttles (like the one from the Makeb story or from various Campsites?) That can be placed on the DK/Coru Balcony Landingpad More Music For Ambiance and Those Bars Dancefloor (Disco Stu likes Disco!) NPC Animations/Emotes Less static NPC Hook limit removal Place as much as you like and have slots for. Decoration Hook Limit removal
  4. I don't think we'll see a response, at least an aknowledgement of this issue? I - and probably a lot of others - would like to have their strongholds buzzing with life and items.
  5. I'd be happy with getting the class signs at all. Then again... what would I remove from my stronghold so I can place it/them? But I do like the silver / gold idea.

    Oh dear.

Combining Solo with Rated was a bad idea to begin with. Registering Arena Teams -> the way to go.
  7. Yep. Sounds like our "oh, I'll do it once a day"-Domi went from that to an actual more-than-mere-casual PvP-Gal. XD You won a match. You scored in Huttball. Next thing: You flame someone for being a newb.
  8. Easily tweaked through adjustment of the threat coefficient.
  9. I get the concept. Not like I don't play games for a couple of years... like 12 or so... Agreed. To an extend. If the difference is no larger than the difference in TTK: ok. If TTK increases less: not ok. If the TTK increases more: Not too bad, unless DPS starts whining because killing tanks takes too long. Right now - in my estimates I'd say a ST:PT is about 100% more difficult to kill than a PY:PT - all the while he does at most 30% of the damage. Meaning: Everything outside of tanking is a total pain in the ar*e to do. And that means all those times you wait for a queue to pop. This is probably an understandable misinterpretation. Caring about the damage is totally not the same as "only caring about the numbers". But yes, I respecced. No.* That might be. But * And while I don't think that Tanks should reap the same damage-numbers as a dps: Anything above a 20% drop to them is ridiculous. Unless you spend your queue time standing in the fleet. And if you don't think 20% less damage is relevant: Ask any DPS class how viable they think their class would be at 20% less damage.
  10. Yeah. A lot of DPS are that way. However I'd rather do 100k damage and keep my taunts on CD and my stuns and carbonize at the ready and KILL the attacker of my heal instead of boring him and his heal to death. Playing well in pvp requires thinking no matter what. There are plenty of tanks who never ever heard of guard-switching, slows, stuns... hell some don't even know that taunting and even ae-taunts work in pvp. I used to play Jugg for the sheer fun of being able to instant-stance-swap -> guard+taunt+intervene on their focus when they blow cooldowns -> switch back right after -> chillscream and do the ravage +push etc on them. Happens all the time. Requires a bit of action, but yes - I like to protect my mates. Without being to kill off enemies however, that's not worth jack. Especially with the recent state of DPS in warzones. I don't think I had many before where only 2 dps are actually breaking 400k on a FULL LENGTH TOUGH FIGHT! I mean... what? Seriously? Yeah, I do top dps on those, but not because I'm awesome. Seriously! And yeah, there is a lot of attitude in my action. And yeah, I totally expected dps to be 'ok'. It isn't. No, meatshield is no valid job in a game for me. I need to be more... proactive. Maybe it's the hole effective HP vs absolute HP vs Peak-Stable thing from eve-online. If my dps breaks through the others heal before my own heal overheats -> Win. But yeah - if some shine in the role of the tank - go for it! To me that's the balsy role of a baitship.
  11. \o/ didn't even cost me a million. Not that hard to get when doing some daily stuff and/or selling datacron-decorations. Yeah... so who actually wants to be a pure meatshield? Meh... As I said: no wonder there are so few tanks.
  12. Now imagine what you would have done in that very same battle as an equally geared pyro... my god, the poor forums...
  13. Will probably go that way. At least the 156 stuff is cheap to get. Also we definately have different opinions on what is to be considered high damage.
  14. No, I actually timed on the same level 50 master mob. Damage of the ST:PT is roughly 1/5th of my best kill (rage mara - haven't even done the carnage thing). And the reason I expected about 76-80% damage is because anything less is absolutely non-viable for anything beyond group play. Like dailies. And there are a lot of those. Total PITA unless done reasonable fast. I did expect a drop in damage compareable to speccing immortal with the jugg. But this is ridiculous. Hint to bio: No wonder there aren't enough tank players. It stinks. Solo mining in eve-online high-sec is more entertaining than that! *edit* Yeah, I'm raging a bit. I'm shocked at the abyss and frustrated. Wow got a good idea when they introduced the whole mechanic "tanks hurt more when they get hit" mechanics. *nods* Bio: Use that and make it apply to "when they or their guarded target gets hit" as well and you actually have something that can not only prolong a healers death but actually do something!
  15. *venting frustration* I revert my "still cool" part. It just sucks to spend 2:14(!) minutes on level 50 heroic masters that you waste within 28(!) seconds on an equally geared DD. (pvp gear that is). I timed it: PT (worst @ 2:14 min), Vengeance Jugg ( 37 seconds), Anni Mara (37 seconds), Rage mara (same gear - 28 seconds). Same mob. That's not even remotely anything anyone could call 'damage' now, is it? We aren't talking about 20% less here. It's not even HALF of the WORST of the others. WOW. So, having asked about ST:PT damage before: IT's non-existant. That's it. There is no damage. Admitted: no level 55 heroic daily was able to kill me, but then again... I could have taken my mara, my vengeance, my op AND my scoundrel through all non-heroic dalies. I mean: WHAT THE F? Next time someone asks about damage of the ST:PT just say "It doesn't really do damage". Man I'm frustrated with my PT now. I've never ever felt that STUCK. I'd have to grind the 'right' pvp gear now. And not even able to do dailies in a satisfying way.... Right now it feels better to play a rage mara in pvp than my PT. SH*T SH*T SH*T. Ok. So... in another thread I already asked: Do I just stash the tank gear? Sell it? Get me some pve gear and be the ungeared noob at 55 and use bolster? Say: Can I purchase BH gear with my comms stacked alts and send it via legacy?
  16. Fight a marauder and see for yourself. You can kite them to death with their only chance to get away is predation + cloak + you being slow with the stealthscan + grapple. (Or get help, but they do die really fast). Try it! On your third marauder you'll be singing while they try to hit you: "DU DUDUDU... CAN'T TOUCH THIS!" ... Ranged: As in You-touch-them-they-can't-touch-you-Ranged.
  17. Good games (both teams fighting - to the end - I love alderaan when that happens) Getting my characters skills right. Making a difference in a battle. Meeting known players. Meeting known enemies. Always considering the psychological aspects (run here - draw enemies - run there... draw the tank aways from their heal... etc...)
  18. Well, I played a lot of pvp. Got me some nice ST:PT gear and ... am already sick of the spec. So - reset to 0. Would you guys put in some pve mods and start from there? Or roll pyro with no damage because the ST gear is... well... not good? Rolling even one more game as ST is out of the question. The "damage" it does is absolutely ridiculous - it's like non-existant. It makes you a victim to the whims of the matchmaking gods because you need a heal to ... heal and a dd to actually kill something. This happens like... never. Ever. And if it does you're faster stuck as a lone nodeguard than you can say "yip".
  19. I have only very VERY few trophies. I don't even have a complete "Wall of trophies" - wich is basically the only function these really would have - and I still have my medbay only planned. And no matter what I do - 25 (!?!) NPC limit spells three words: BIG, DEAD, EMPTY. Come on - for a place that size there should be at least 2 guards per door + waiters/droids/service-personell plus the crewmembers of the legacy... and really: the alts should be there as well. Nope - the current hook limit is a big turnoff.
  20. As a formerly 'more than casual' gamer and now casual I can just say: Either scratch conquest off your list or make it your priority. With 1-2 hours of gametime a day (well not every day, but at least half of them) wich is seriously a lot of gaming if you ask me, the goal for conquest isn't achievable unless you focus that gametime on it. So it is by no means "achievable by doing whatever you want". And to be honest, I doubt that to be any aim of the system: Either you do that, or you do something else. I myself have scratched it off my list of things I'll ever do. Because... yeah... no. It might be fun once. But every day of play spending my time on mindless low-heroics-farming. Noooooooo sir. I prefer to actually do something else. I.e. pvp. And no, that won't get me the points to get a personal reward. Just accept what many else fail to even realize: A game of this magnitude contains a lot of stuff that is meant for players with totally different interest. Meaning: unless you can change your interest, you won't participate in that part of the game. There are lots of "small guilds" wanting to do the "big guild" thing. And there are lots of PvEers who feel threatened by some parts being only achievable when accepting to pvp a bit. PvPers are mostly used to never-see-stuff and never-get-stuff.
  21. Well - my report: DPS as a tank SUCKS. Reminds me a lot of the way tanks in wow were in classic. No wonder so few put up with staying tank. Low dps means: slow dailies. The one thing you do not want to be slow in. Big plus: I can solo them all. Except for watching interrupts and using the odd defensive cooldown every now and then... no sweat. But ... do you all know how that paladin tank wanted to brag and mentioned how he only needed 2 crits to kill a squirrel? yeah. that. You take a beating like nothing... but the damage is absolutely horrible. (that answers my question from the OP). Still - feels cool. I love jet-charge.
  22. What else can I say: NPC slots: too few. Hooks limit overall: way too low. There is just way too much big, empty dead space. Try about 150-250 NPC and 1000-1500 hooks @ DK. That would probably make that place a bit 'alive'. Best alternative: No limit, except the hooks that are there.
  23. Hehe - all this discussion... and all I can say is: I don't Play my marauder in pvp anymore. The class itself is pretty balanced, actually. If it were less controllable, it would have to be retuned immensely to still be ok for the others. BUT the design of creating a no-cc-melee with limited gap-closer and itself being the most vulnerable class to cc ... AND knockbacks and roots and too much cc off the resolve... UGH. It's ok, It's strong actually. But it SUCKS to be the playball for all others as soon as they aren't completely new to the pvp game. Being a newbie-wrecker isn't fun for very long.
