  1. Most whining and complaining is based on our selfish nature that modern culture cultivates and feeds, making a mountain out of a mole hill. Also some of them are kids in a jealous rage because their parents won't buy them the game, and they can't pirate it. Then some complaints have merit and help the devs improve the game. But since 95% of them have never developed and coded software, they are completely delusional about the effort involved, and the time it takes to implement changes without breaking something else. The bottom line is this is a very good game in the context of what Bioware does better than anyone, tell stories within an RPG/MMO hybrid game. I'm sure it will only get better as time goes on, and you will always have folks upset about this or that, because they really don't understand the context of life in this fallen world, and the false expectations that abound.
  2. I like this game for the same reason I like Mass Effect, story driven action adventure, set in a futuristic world. All the people who bought this for PvP, bought the wrong game. Same reason I would not buy Battlefield or Call of Duty for the story or single player experience, but strictly for the PvP. That doesn't mean that in the furture the PvP won't be a lot better, but I personally would prefer more story based quests and flashpoints. So I hope they cater more to the people who really enjoy the game as it is, and less to the people who seem not to, because frankly, either they bought the wrong game, are trolls, or would never be happy, because they are trying to find some type of "salvation" in a game, instead of looking to Jesus Christ. Happiness comes from within, not some external game. If you aren't happy, your not happy, and a video game will never change that.
  3. Once the overall population of servers stablize, I am sure they are going to merge servers and allow you to move your character from one server to another server. I originally enrolled on a medium population server. Then I added an alt on one of the most popular servers. No doubt a busy server is much better for grouping and flashpoints. All future alts will be rolled on busy server. And as soon as characters can be moved, my whole family will be on the busy server.
  4. Dear Bioware, please include a class that is indestructible, so if we want no challenge in PvE, we can just blow through it. Better yet, let us decide what level we want to start with, including full Battlemaster gear. Then we can start having some real fun. The idea of actually dying at the hands of NPC's is just too much for my ego to handle.
  5. For the 100th time, the end game of SWTOR was not a priority for the initial release of SWTOR. The classes, story, and 1-49 quests got most of the dev time. I am sure in another year or two, 80% of the PvP comments will be meaningless, because they will be giving you a lot of new and varied PvP end game experiences. How long did it take WOW to have decent endgame? And just comparing what SWTOR gives you compared to what WOW gave you on init release, there is none, because WOW had no endgame AT ALL!
  6. If these were real gold medals with todays gold prices, I'd be upset too. Digital medals in a digital game, not so much.
  7. Where are the World Bosses? Here: http://www.swtor.com/community/showthread.php?t=105905&highlight=world+boss+locations
  8. Can't beat'um, roll'um. Leave Ops alone. I'm rolling four toons to fifty. Its like having four different weapons to use based on how I feel like playing that day and what the party needs. So if party needs healer, logoff tank, login healer, etc.
  9. It also depends on which faction you play in. On most servers it seems that Imps dominate. I suggest you find a server that has the HEAVY indicator during primetime hours, and the majority of players are playing the faction you like. BW has already indicated in the coming months we will be able to move our characters to the server of choice. I'm sure they are just waiting for the overall population of the game to stabilize.
  10. If your a Smuggler you get your Wookie at the end of your class quest on Nar Shaddaa. I was glad to get out of there. nothing but buildings and warehouses. Tatooine is the best planet so far. Nothing like crusing around on the dunes in your Speeder hunting Sand people.
  11. Write a detail design doc of what would be a great PvP zone. and how it should work. Submit to BW, and who knows, maybe when they do their first big PvP expansion, your dream PvP zone will be incorporated. Way too early in games development to complain about these things. Much better to make suggestions they can incorporate as the game matures.
  12. My only advice is make sure it meets minimum specs, and install and run SWTOR on an SSD drive. SSD drive makes a HUGE difference in how the game runs because it is very disk I/O intensive.
