  1. Solution: High rated PvP: Sexy gear, cool titles and epic mounts. Same stats as Low rated. Low rated PvP: Ugly gear, no titles and basic mounts. Same stats as High rated. People who want a carrot on a stick can go for the sexy gear, the mounts and titles so people can look at them and go "wow, they are good". Everyone is on an equal playing field as soon as they start PvP and don't waste time having to gear before seeing how good they actually are. (Someone also suggested giving everyone the golden samurai JK gear if they were low rated/new at PvP, if that's not incentive to go for this type of progression, nothing is)
  2. I lost my tinfoil hat, i can't reply seriously to this thread anymore... Noooooooooooo!
  3. Because I enjoy fighting players and feeling good when I come out top of an equally matched fight. I don't enjoy getting a toon to 50 and being stomped for alot of matches because i am fighting their gear, not them...
  4. Removed the rest of the quote because it was all cancelled by this one comment, you shot yourself in the foot my friend. The best games are when you are up against people on a level playing field, when gear is not a factor. Posted this elsewhere aswell... Solution: Higher rated PvP: Sexy gear, cool titles and epic mounts same stats as low rated. Lower rated PvP: Ugly gear, no titles, basic mounts same stats as high rated. Problem solved, still gear progression for those types of players who want to look cool and achieve a physical item, also titles etc. for people who like that. And everyone is on an equal playing field except for aesthetics. (Someone even suggested giving everyone the gold samurai JK gear until they get higher ratings, if that's not incentive to progress, nothing is.)
  5. Practically every tournament level of every game puts people on as equal a gear level as possible so the winner is actually the most skilled, not the most geared.
  6. Solution: Higher rated PvP = fancy colored gear, cool titles and mount, no stat difference with Lower - People can have their epeen progression by getting rainbow colored gear instead of a poo color whilst not having a built in advantage. Lower rated PvP = Ugly gear, no titles, basic mounts, no stat difference with Higher - People can go straight to their appropriate skill rating as gear doesn't stop them for a few weeks beforehand. And to the people moaning "HIGH END PLAYERS ONLY PLAY BECAUSE THEY CAN GET NEW GEARZ!". Fair point, but surely the high end players under the progression system already have max gear? Why do they play after they got all that? they have no progression from that point so surely they all quit? Oh, they don't? Oh, they like having ratings and the pure feeling of being at the top? Shocking... Being at the top should be purely aesthetic, and any problems with this is just people who don't want competition from people who haven't played as long as them. Which brings me to the point, time invested =/= skill level, some people suck after years of playing a game, some are amazing after 1 week, deal with it. Edit: To above, gotta love people with 2.2k rating thinking they is Pro and tournament level in arena.
  7. They did 100% say that the "ability swaps" would be under Heroic Moment. The buffs however were mentioned separately and are not the "abilities" everyone is mentioning as this thread goes more and more off-track. The purpose of all buffs on 1 player is to stop teams going "oh ****, we need a sorc to join us because we lack the buff". There is no point at all in that if you need a companion with you. (Also a 30 min buff on a 20 min cd should itself tell you that it is wrong to assume it is a heroic moment)
  8. Image of Michael Jordan in rocket boots, just thought I'd share.
  9. Your first paragraph just provides proof for the guy you quoted "without proof and blame... gear when you get face rolled". You want him to prove he is better? Remove gear as a factor, problem solved. Why do you think other people who practice like mad are nowhere near as good as Michael Jordan is? Are you suggesting Michael Jordan was the only basketballer to ever practice like mad? Just look at small teams etc. for proof, some are just inherently worse than others, even with practice.
  10. I don't believe the buffs have any requirements, that's how it sounded anyway. But tbh, so what? If someone can just res with a sorc all the time, or have a sorc fight near them and press the buff for the same effect, what does it matter if the players can do it themselves instead?? ^To above, the improved buffs are not Heroic Moments like Force Grips etc...
  11. Just noticed that, hahahaha, this guy obviously didn't think before typing...
  12. Also, to the people who say "go play an fps if you want equal gear" it's like saying the following: Player 1: My game of tetris doesn't have x graphic option in the menu Player 2: Idiot, you don't need the x graphic option, if you want that option, go play GTA 4, not Tetris. Player 1: But, I don't like GTA, I prefer games like tetris Player 2: Just **** and go play GTA to have your fancy x graphic! Edit: To the above, stop criticising everything a company does. "They don't talk to our community, they are useless" "They are talking to our community, they are useless!" sort of vibe comes from you. They don't play at the moment, because they have no ratings to go for. However, that will be fixed soon, many games rely purely on ratings to keep people playing, and guess what, they do VERY well...
  13. What about the people who always have the top gear, nothing in the game ever changes for them, yet they still play? PvP changes every time you play it aswell, new players/teams etc. And a quick note: IT IS CALLED PVP, Player Versus Player, NOT PVG, Player versus Gear. With a gear-based PvP system, you cannot tell if you are winning due to you being good, or due to outgearing the opponent, which leads to a falsehood that people claim themselves as "pro" when they have infact just invested more time than others. Why do you think in tournaments etc. People are ALWAYS given the chance at equal gear? Because otherwise it is not based on skill in anyway! Also, BioWare is already implementing the change, stop ************.
  14. They said it will start with dual-spec, then be evolved into multi-spec at a later date. and that date is "soon"
  15. OP didn't read or understand anything properly before posting, poor soul...
  16. More like Best case a day later, I spent 2 weeks just waiting for a response about an account hack, the solution in total took about 1 month, and easily a week at a time whenever loot was done improperly. And as far as I am aware and have seen/heard about, they do not give titles if you didn't get it due to a bug or other issue, same as achievements... Some companies have great customer service, at least compare it to one of them, not blizz... (This is mostly from nearing the end of wotlk and start of cata)

    Force Leap

Ah ye, and I been playing only my mara last few days >.< silly me. But ye, if the mara is standing on the goal line, and same with operative than they aren't doing their job as a melee properly anyway (and healer ops who do it should just get better)

    Force Leap

Hmm, let's see, how can I counter a charge... Knockbacks? maybe... Pull back? Maybe... Not stand on the edge? Maybe... Whine about it on forums? Ye sure! The problem is, when you single out one ability and say it is too strong, ofc it seems that way, but when you factor in everything else it is actually in line. The only class that should be annoyed is operatives and their mirror as I THINK they are the only ones who can't knockback, pull or charge, correct me if I am wrong. But everyone else has an equal counter that can be used.
  19. I love Voidstar, especially on my Marauder, and tbh it's fine as it is. The idea is that: - You try kill people as much at the same time as you can (nuking the healer straight away then going to DPS means the healer will easily be back by the time you start to use the door.) - You cc people if they are going for the door capper - You cc everyone if you are trying to disarm a bomb. (I actually AoE cc'ed 4 people and was about to disarm the bomb when a sorc used the storm to free them all and they interrupted me...) The only problems are that: - The attackers seem to never understand that if someone capping is at 7 seconds complete, cc the damn person coming to stop them, don't just stare at them... - People can't just leave the *break on damage* cc to do its job, they see red nameplates and go mental. - People never go for the door until everyone, including that sorc that is 60 yards away, is dead. - The spawn system is stupid that an entire team can be locked in the wrong room for 20+ seconds. 3 of the problems can only be fixed by players being less stupid. The spawn point one needs some actual real attention tbh.

    Possibly a record?

ye, Pyro PT sucks!!!! - ssoPTp (secret society of PyroTech players)

    Possibly a record?

I'm shocked at the amount of Bounty Hunters more than anything.
  22. GW2 is built for PvP and PvE from the ground up just as a quick note
  23. Time invested =/= Skill. You will see people who can pick up a game and be amazing at it, and others who are still awful after months, two paragraphs of bollocks tbh. It is Player vs. Player not Player vs. gear, an equal playing field is the only way that skill can be measured in PvP, and if as the argument says that "everyone at the top will have equal gear anyway", if this is true, why should everyone not have this equal gear so the news can stand up against the olds from the start and not just have old vs. old constantly? If you are a true PvPer, you don't care about gear, because you want to play against players, not just 3 hit someone because they have greens. HOWEVER, I see and understand the point that the gear gap will see alot of people trying to just rush max gear with nothing inbetween, resulting in alot of matches thrown by full greenies trying to rush it all (note: under the current system this is an issue) The only way the gear disparity could be removed at all playing levels including new people to stop them dragging down a team in a warzone is to have PvP gear full from level 50, but only active when in PvP. This means every win is from skill as soon as they hit 50, not constant deaths because they are in greens until they get the purples. (GW2 does this, not fanboyism in anyway that I think another game has a good feature just so you know) AND STOP TELLING PEOPLE TO PLAY FPS, they are different styles of games, it's like telling someone who likes tetris to go play grand theft auto because it has a menu feature that tetris doesn;t...
  24. 1. I will play both swtor, GW2, and possibly Tera when they are all out. 2. The people who haven't read anything about GW2 except maybe the 1 post they glanced at that said "No Raids" make me laugh 3. PvP is exactly what it says on the tin, Player vs. Player. - It is not PvG, Player vs. Gear - Gear for the most part is just for the game to have progression in PvE (no-one wants a new raid to have the same gear reqs. as their current raid, gear IS the goal in PvE), however, it also brings with it the people who think that because they grinded higher gear than others they are performing better due to skill, and not the gear they grinded. 4. GW2 will not die, go watch some vids. etc. if you are one of the "lol no PvE" people. - It's good to actually understand something before you try debate about it 5. swtor will not die purely because of GW2, Tera, or... pandas -.-. And it will certainly not die because people like the op want a PvG game not a PvP game.
