  1. Doesn't the chapter one boss have a one-shot move you have to interrupt? Like Rilok mentions above, I thought i remember that being a thing for this boss (Vivicar?) I think if you're too low he can resist your interrupt too, but i could be wrong As far as combat stance. I only ever use it in tank spec. But I do run a lot of solo stuff in tank spec with DPS gear+shield on. You can use a dps companion, you have decent damage output, plus some good survivability, and between you and the comp you melt through normal mobs. With how powerful healing companions are now though, shouldn't have an issue regardless of stance in any solo content, just remember those interrupts
  2. Correct for the most part in that vanguard and powertech use a lot of fire/knife/electric stuff. But i guess for a vanguard, the animations at least come out of the rifle? Here are some guides that might give you an idea of what they do (Vanguard DPS guides) Thematically if you're looking for a class that uses straight blaster shots like a commando, I'm not sure that exists. Personally i think your best bet is a Tactics vanguard. and as for your one bladed sentinel question. That wouldn't really work because a bunch of the skills in the Sentinel's kit require two sabers. DPS guardians are no joke though, i recommend trying a guardian out if you're just looking for a single saber damage class. I personally use my guardian as a DPS and love it (Vigilance spec). All dps classes have some defensive skills in their toolbox, it only makes your life easier. Hope this helps
  3. Vanguards (your only other option for trooper) use rifles. but remember the vanguard is a close range class despite using a rifle. They have a few long range attacks, but you're only useful within 10 meters. Shield spec if you want to tank, the other two if you want to deal out the pain. They're all pretty fun so look over the specs and see what appeals to you most and you'll be fine.
  4. The problem is, Hard mode is not for new players. I don't mind helping anyone in a flashpoint. That is, offering pull advice or explaining a boss fight. Anyone who queues for a hard mode should at the very least know their class and role. I've had pugs in the past few days that baffled me. infiltration shadow queing as tank, not mentioning it to anyone and getting melted on the first pull. Tanks using generator/focus offhands instead of a shield, making the healer's job a nightmare. Vanguards (melee class) sitting in the back and spamming their basic attack. Just to clarify, this isnt a complaint about difficulty, i like where it's at now for HM. I'm just not a fan of queing for a HARDMODE (where common sense tells me you should be at least familiar with your class), and teaching people the basics of the game. That's what the tacticals are for right? I know there's no way to fix it, since anyone 50+ can queue for one and anyone can make a level 60 for a few bucks. It just gets old.
  5. Would watch the crap out of this show just like i did with Scrubs. Take my money. I don't have anything else productive to add to this debate. I loved this movie but i don't feel the need to defend why, everyone can decide for themselves how they felt about it.
  6. Gah, i came into this thread to post this picture. Love it haha
  7. SW:TOR level sync turned you off and made you quit... but you go to play Guild Wars 2? Am I the only one seeing the irony here?
  8. I think what Callaron was referring to is that, as far as the story is concerned, your character accomplished all those things in the class storyline. Obviously you don't get the achievements, titles, or any progress toward "legendary" status as OP refers to. But your character will still know his or her old companions, old enemies from the story, and interact with NPCs as if you had done all those quests. That's how i read it anyway.
  9. BiS = Best in Slot. referring to end game gear when you're trying to fine tune your dps or heal output (or mitigation for a tank). Don't know where it came from exactly, but it's more prevalent in games like diablo and the like, where you have multiple unique options for each gear "slot". Usually on the forum you'll find a numbers guy who did the math and all the testing to figure out which one's best. This game is more about stat ratios since everything is modable anyway
  10. I don't much care about this either way, I only made one insta-60 (the free one) and it was for the free max armormech. and I don't use titles on her. but here's my 2 cents. I don't see a huge deal in maybe giving an insta 60 a single title based on base class. Something iconic that you would expect to see. It has no bearing on the story, or the achievements Master Jedi Darth Sith Major Trooper Captain Smuggler. Agent Agent Something BountyHunter (idk about this one, mandolorian maybe?) But as someone who leveled them all through the story, I can certainly see the argument against it. I'm just saying it wouldn't bug me all that much to give the new 60 something. Especially since we would all know that title wasn't earned.
  11. Which one's are you recruiting? Some of them have specific missions/tasks to gain their influence (eg the infamous pvp req for Pierce/M1-4X). But the ones for the star fort shield bunkers will take any of the locked supply boxes
  12. I would give all of my money for this movie. Hero of Tython is too old for this sh*t
  13. I'm a bit confused. I've been reading these anti sync threads, not all the responses obviously but a bunch of them. I'm honestly trying to understand why this is such a big deal. Un-subbing over this? How much time did everyone really spend in low level areas pretending they were godly by one-shotting stuff? I'm trying to empathize with the arguments against it but it's really really hard when they all sound the same. "I want to be able to get to max level so i can get achievements/rewards/mats without having to try" Am I the only one who almost never went to those planets after i was done leveling there? And even now, the only reason i spend any time there at all is because there's a terminal that will give me all the heroics, and teleport me to each one. And while I'm thinking about those Heroics. Even with the level sync is anyone actually having a hard time with those lower level ones solo? They were so trivial i rounded up every mob in one just so my comp could mow them down for me. tl;dr: I dont understand why this issue got so huge. Someone please help me understand. If the answer is "I cant get x achievement/heroic/etc on a low level planet" that doesnt count because I've read every variation of that one
  14. If you haven't played either, i would highly recommend picking them up on steam. The combat is dated and can feel slow, but if you enjoy the bioware storytelling it's definitely worth your time. If you decide to, make sure KOTOR 2 has the restored content mod installed (available on steam workshop, very easy to install). Sadly Obsidian was rushed with the release, and had to cut a pretty hefty chunk of content. That being said i very much enjoy this game, it's just different. playing through the class stories was great.
  15. Either this or the other team gave up quick and just stood at their captured point to get medals. OP's team probably kept attacking so they weren't earning as many defender points as the team that gave up and sat at their point
