  1. Hi swtor, I am a subscriber - most of the time that swtor has been available to subscribe to. I would really like the implementation of a ignore that is LEGACY wide. If I ignore someone, I want to really ignore that person. I have 14 characters on the main server I play on, and active play character(s) on another server. it's not really feasible to go through each one, to ignore ONE person, when in fact, I not only want to ignore that person from one character, but all my characters, and not specifically their one toon, but all their characters. The community is great is swtor, the best I've seen in any mmo I've played: mature, responsible, friendly, patient, and generally nice. But, when people are not in that mold, and rude, etc..etc.. I rather just block that person from any other group finder activities. That should be rather simply to implement. The "downside" of course, is that any ***** will eventually find they can't get into any groups. That is not soo bad. They deserve it. My two cents. p.s. I know this isn't the first time someone has requested this, but I want to voice my opinion.

  3. my two cents... I got a guardian, juggernaut, powertech and shadow tank...all 55 for some time. I only run heroics, dailies, everything EXCEPT zero pvp and zero operations. I thought everything was rather hunky doory, until I came to these forums =) And, then I was like "what? my shadow tank is bad?" I think as always there is hysteria when 1-5% of the population - I will say "elite" to give it a complement - makes assertions that there is imbalance and evil in the world. I will grant, that it is all true what they report, in nightmare modes, shadows are suspect. Even so, you have to bear in mind, that still ONLY affects 1-5% of the population =) Although the noise of it is 80-85% of posts concerning shadow/inquisitor tanks. I am not being a bioware uncle tom. They should fix it - and as always, in these cases, I believe they will. When? Again, as always, it will probably take ages =) So, don't hold your breath. Unless you are right now, already running nightmare mode 16-man operations - you have every right to complain. For everyone else, by the time to level up to that point - it might already be fixed, or who knows, maybe you don't make it that far anyway. In summation, I will not say they are fine - i don't know. I will say for "normal" use - don't panic, and stop scaring everyone =) Even after all that is said, I assume, they can still work - just more stress than optimal.
  4. Yes. It used to be, that some serious guilds would even require every raider to have biochem. By now, the difference between Biochem and not Biochem is not so powerful. So, I will be the naysayer. No, I don't think Biochem is overwhelmingly required. I used to have Biochem on 70% of my characters - i use percentages because I don't know how many characters I actually have across all the different servers in the galaxy =) But, suffice it to say, I have at least 30, though only 5 are max level. I say used to, because, Biochem has been nerfed over time, and just isn't that great anymore. The 15% health on use (health) medpac was huge! But, once that got nerfed, the difference between biochem and the rest was pretty much blurred. Sure, perhaps you "save" a little money, on the reusable medpacs. Say, for example, the health one that can heal up to 6800. But, the craftable - non-reusable one is "better" because it also includes a small 1500 or so, additional heal over time. I say "better" because really it's not that big of a deal =) (and honestly, I probably would be more satisfied with the reusable one). =) But, technically, the one available to everyone is better than the biochem specific health medpac. Also, they are BOTH only usesable once per fight - so there is no advantage to a biochemer. There is also craftable stims that persist through death, for 90 minutes(?, 2 hours?). Those are every bit as good as the reusable ones for biochem - so yeah, never having to make any is better than actually having to make some, but there is no major cost if you only need to pop one every few hours. The adrenal is ok, and can be popped, but when you look at what you gain - the benefit is usually 2-4% for 15 seconds. I don't know necessary that it will make a difference. On my biochem toon, I still use it. But, it's mostly a placebo effect =) Maybe a month or so ago, I dropped Biochem on most of my highly active characters, because as long as I have one biochem character, I can make all I need for the rest of them. And, let's be honest, the mats are REAL easy to get, and you can just send out your companions all the time, and always have enough for everyone. The best argument in favor would look like this: 1. you run ops - and need (should) to have max adrenals, stims, medpacs on hand, at all times. 2. you have no other character with biochem, that you play regularly. 3. your guild does not provide them to you. 4. you don't hardly play at all outside of ops. 5. and don't have 25 million credits in your account - to buy them from the Galactic Network. 6. you don't have a mate to craft them for you. Then, perhaps it's worth it to level biochem to 450. All that said, I can't really make an argument that anything else is terribly more useful if you do Ops - as a main focus.
  5. cool thanks =) my next question then, how do i get the purple one? RE the blue one? =) Or, does the purple one drop from an Op drop? ok, that seems to be the case. damn wish i would have known that sooner =)
  6. Out of curiosity, does anyone know if anyone can craft these? I know my artifice toon could do them below level 50, but above level 50, it seems bioware changed it to where they can only do force related generators? Am I missing something? Thanks

  8. I have played all the different tank classes (1 jugg/1 guardian, 1 BH, and 1 shadow), all 55, and all have done hard mode flashpoints. I don't have any knowledge of Ops, so can't help there. But, from everything else, I will say continue playing what you like, even if it's a shadow tank or the inquisitor tank =) I will say, that once or twice i was surprised to "fall over" on my shadow tank. Just bam, dead. I was like ***. the 55 hard mode flash points require some coordination and skill level (by the group). So, there is no shame in getting beat down, esp. when starting them out. Sometimes, you just need more healing and the healer needs to know that (i usually tell them) just to be on the safe side =) In any event, I have learned to blow all your cooldowns as often as you can. No point in saving them for an "oh no," moment. I guess same is true for all the different classes though. I play them all fairly equally, but I will say, personal taste wise, I really like that the shadow can go stealth. I just don't do dailies very often (like on Makeb, if I don't have stealth class) heh So, that is a major plus.
  9. my two cents... it's all about how you like to play - and how you like your companion to look like =) I probably used Kaliyo so long, because I liked her Bounty hunter look. Also, as I mostly played a healer - leveling, it was easy mode. Keep her gear current, and just sit back and sic her on groups, and keep probes on her - chill with your drink =) I later (45ish) switched to Vector, and found that to go overall faster. But, the pace was different. Naturally, Vector needed more heals, but he also did more damage so it went faster - but I had to be more awake. When I switched to DPS, hands down, the healer companion is the best. You provide the muscle, and the healer just chills behind you healing you - no downtime! I have tried dps companions while playing dps, but there is just too much downtime, since you gotta heal almost after every group =( Also, if the off chance that you pull two groups on accident - happens - and your cloak is on cooldown, night night =) With a healer companion, you can still use all your medpacs, legacy perks, and survive two groups at once - or even three =)
  10. I used her from inception to like level 45, before swapping her out. =) unlike some, I love Kaliyo. I will affirm what has already been mentioned. 1. you observe correctly, her dmg is quite poor =/ Even if you outfit her with dps gear, it is not entirely what she does best, and you would be gimping her from who she is. 2. a reasonably Ok geared melee dps companion is probably a better choice - if you are playing a healer. Once, I figured this out, I used Vector from like 45-50+. 3. if you are playing dps, then the Doctor is a fine choice. I level 80% of the way as a healer, and I used Kaliyo during that time. It was sorta of "easy" mode, albeit slow. You don't really have to be quick on your feet. Just send her in, keep the probes up on her (and you), and wait for stuff to die. If you get distracted no bigs. =) 4. Finely geared, she is really decent, and can tank and hold aggro on a whole group, with little problem.
  11. It's all personal preference. I got an Op to 55 almost just on the side. I mean, I thought I would play jedis - this is star wars after all. But, Op is just too much fun. I admit though, there is a period, around 35-45 where it seems kind of lethargic, stale - but it might be like that with every class =) I felt kind of weak during that time. But, right around 45+ you gets strong again. My sniper has been stalled at like 25 or so, for like that past 2 2x exp periods. I just don't have much desire to play it. Seems too "easy," dare I say? But, some people like that. The big bonus, as mentioned: stealth. It is so awesome to sneak past trash mobs doing quests/dailies. I almost only do them with characters that can stealth - or not at all. Op has got a decent story though, interesting companions - I seem to feel more connected to them, then almost any other crew (but sniper has the same ones) =) Just raise them both =) or whatever, it's relatively easy to level - if you got a little patience/time.
  12. love Kaliyo /bump She is one of my favorite companions out of like 5+ characters that I have got all the companions with. =) I think I used her to about level 45 or so, before I realized I was just more effective with a dps companion, like Vector (tho some people don't like him either). I should equip her up again, and use her again =) But, everyone is different. Most of the companions are like, eh, whatever - if they are effective combo with my spec, then fine, otherwise, meh. Kaliyo is one I like, though, purely for attitude.
  13. cool. thanks for the reply. =) Yeah, i will keep it on at least one of my toons. I don't like running dailies. Though, I gotta do some as much as I send my companions out on missions. It seems that crew skills are mostly designed to make money (for the focused among us), or just gearing out companions.
  14. Only just realized biochem has been changed - at some point =) Not sure when. But, the main change I am referring to are the rakata medpacs, and it not giving 15% more health for 15 seconds. First question: When did that change actually occur?? Maybe I was bugged and got to enjoy it longer than I was supposed to. Second: I am having a hard time seeing why biochem is even useful anymore, when I can just buy the stims from vendor or get them easily from other players? Is there any benefit to it atm? I will probably keep it, since too lazy to raise something else, and already got all the crews covered. Just curious.
  15. Where exactly does one find these? The blue level 28 schematics? Namely trying to find some for synthweaving.
