  1. yep, thats the one...where you have to blow the three generators guarded by droids and the security officer is almost an elite boss by himself (actually he gave me more trouble than Angrel ever did)
  2. I was in a similar situation and decided to pull out all the stops. basically I left my Jedi on the ship for 24 hours to generate some resting XP (its good to have alts) Then I went into the station and cleaned it out, and promptly got about 20,000XP for a half hours bang bang. Then I did all the possible space missions (~10,000 XP...can't remember) THen I left the character on the ship while I played my alt for the rest of the night Rinse and repeat! If your in a hurry, the fastest way is to clean out the space station, then reset the mission and clean it out again. Without the resting xp bonus you can get around 10-12k per run and its only 200k to go up a level Grinding at it's best For variation...maybe do a flashpoint?
  3. I'm still working out mine My current idea is bind keys 1-12 to the top centre toolbar, set the round thumb button to shift and set the bottom centre tool bar to shift+number. That leaves me 4 keys for other stuff on the main pad and the square thumb button as target change. I'll use the mini-joystick for movement in combat only (so it won't be too wearing). A Nostromo can have multiple key-maps so I'm thinking use the scroll wheel to switch between key-maps and maybe have the second key-map with both sidebars bound (normal on the right and shift on the left) - then its just move the powers to the slots I feel most comfy with And then...if that pans out..why stop there...set up another key-map for out of combat with the WASD keys as Nostromo keys and the other buttons bound to functions like getting on and off my bike and healing and then set up ANOTHER Key-map for space combat and Maybe another one for Grouping (with less combat but all the tanking functions in better spots for example) Possibilities........
  4. I'd be happy just with something for my Jedi that wasn't a hooded robe...even being able to pull the hood down would be nice
  5. Patches and Timezones Question...now that the US has moved to Daylight savings AKA Summer Time Is the patch period going to move 1 hour so its the same time for US customers (and eventually Euro customers when they change times) or is it staying the same GMT? THe reason I ask is in Australia we go OFF Daylight Savings time in a few weeks, which means the patch times will have moved two hours (once for US once for Australia) when it does. In any case...could you keep posting the correct GMT time for the patch updates so everyone not in the listed timezones has a chance of working it out?
  6. Long first name, I'd go with a short second name for balance Some Ideas Shiramune Nun Shiramune Edo Shiramine Talan Don't forget your alts are going to be using it too
  7. It's probably already been said but in Australia, I usually manage to get home from work 10 mins before the servers go down for patching and if its a quick patch, its up in time for me to wave goodnight to my companions. I am however terribly curious about whats going to happen when US Daylight savings kick in. I know I'm going to loose an hour when my own Daylight Savings kick out and I go back to GMT+10 but it might be 2 (so the normal window becomes 5PM my time and finishes at 9PM which aint so bad) What I'd really really like is for the forums to be up during patches, the only reason I can think of is Forum Login uses the same loginserver as Game Login which needs to be bounced if theres a game client update, but could BW do at least something to let forums stay up?
  8. Usually with me it turns into a leapfrog kinda situation...were all going for the same objective, I nail one mob they run past, they nail the next mob and I run past...rinse and repeat. What I grumble about is fighting all the way to the objective triangle and finding nothing there, then trying to look nonchalant while your waiting for the respawn
  9. Corso actually convinced me not to play a smuggler...ever For a sith warrior the girl on Tattoine (name forgotten) who was scared to go into the forbidden zone. Also any number of sensible imperial types who make a nice counterbalance to the totally insane Sith you seem to continually meet (I'm beginning to despair of ever meeting a halfway sane Sithlord who doesn't look like they've just left the set of Saturday Night fever). That guy in the HOPE preview would also be a nice companion.
  10. Back in the day of pen-and-paper Star Wars RPG's the question came up and we explained it that the tolerances are fiendishly tight to make it work right. Force Users can build light sabres by hand going on what "feels right" but while industry could make them, the cost would be massive compared to vibroblades and shockstaffs so normal people don't use them because they are simply not cost effective for them.
  11. I haven't finished working mine out yet but I see mine as all my alts came from the same orphanage on Balmorra, left after getting to legal age and are now following very different professions, some fell in with republic "visitors" or worked on freighters to get off world, one was captured as part of a resistance group and enslaved (cue SI storyline) and a couple were even noticed by a Jedi and brought into the order. Most of my alts would recognise each other as they grew up together, but they usually have no idea what the other orphans are doing these days.
  12. I just went through the JK class mission on Alderaan where you rescue your Master, the whole conversation cracked me up so much I got wiped in the following battle Master: "you took your time getting here" JK: "All the speeders were taken" Master: "well I'm impressed you defeated the queen, she was huge compared to the normal bugs" JK: "uhhh..master I didn't see any giant bugs" (cue ominous rumbling and tunnel wall opening up to a hoard of bugs including the queen) Master: "If we die here your fired!"
  13. Great thread Does anyone know an easy way to find the skill tree respec guy? I keep forgetting where he lives on the fleets (both Republic and Empire)
  14. The usual tricks are - Make sure your not using one of the Tank Combat abilities (taunt, one of the fighting forms for Jedi Consular and Jedi Knight also collect focus - same for Sith but can't remember the names) - Pace your attacks...slow them down a little and see if the companion recovers focus - Give your companion a bigger gun
  15. I'm playing from Australia and I know my credit card number I supplied for billing is identified as Australian (from another game) and I'm not having a problem. I did have to go through a bunch of stuff after I tried putting in my CD key including security questions but I got the impression everybody had to do that.
