This game, unlike WoW rewards you mor for being in a group, so it is dumb for them not to. Also rude. Not everyone does that, seems like you were unlucky.

I myself play NOTHING but pvp. Since in SWTOR pvp exists mainly in WZ, that is pretty much all I do. I like to consider myself a way above average SWTOR player when it comes to PVP and playing other people in general. Try me I'm on Infinte Empire (repub) side, I will destroy you. (say it to everyone few match up to my awareness of the game) The OP is not a noob when it comes to PVP I can tell by how he talks. He was embarrassed about his 70k in Huttball, however I would argue LESS is BETTER in most cases. Now I have a Guardian level 50 that I play regularly and when it comes to huttball. On the games we win 6-0, I was proud of myself when I was under 10k damage done. That only happened a couple of times, but that is when I had more than two people who actually understood the game. My damage solely goes to the opposing team that has the flag(85% of the time due to sunder) sometimes I will CC and mess with the healers ETC. I RARELY on winning games get over 30k damage.(If you have more you are simply not playing the objectives, or you really care about your DPS way too much.. I am lucky now, being a guardian and with common sense. I am DEADLY in Huttball, however the medals have turned to my favor ( a big step up from last patch) However. The true MVPS and best players do what the OP suggests. You CC and do what you can to get as many players as you can off of the opposing team. I use that particular strat constantly. If one person attacks me and tries to stop me, I ignore and get to the objective.. However if I get caught up with 2+ guys, me by myself taking these people out of the game gives me team an advantage. As a guardian I can take anywhere from 2-8 guys have them follow me to the other side of the map (literally dispelling seconds off their objective) an stay alive for upwards of 30+ secs. Which really adds up with the more people who follow. How does using AWE get me MVP--(renders all targets in range USELESS until touched for 6-9 secs(off hand can't remember). However ME doing damage at that point would be stupid, especially since it would knock them from their stun. At that point most will follow me wherever I go.. if I were to stand there it would be even dumber, not only would I get wailed on way harder, I'd have to blow all my sheilds eariler(once again no damage involved). So as I run and several guys chase me(giving my team the advantage) I go back there and make a big difference, but get penalized since I wasn't doing what it took to get them medals required aka damage, healing or defending. I exploited the other team's noobness and got my team points, and technically was the unsung hero, but what do I get-- 0 commendations and people calling me a noob who had 400k damage, but did not play the objective one time.. I like the medals, but I also think they are a big problem(for the above reasons) and now more noticeably the CIVIL WAR. This is causing HUGE problems. I am a GOGOGO type of person, if we can 3cap, I want it. I don't want both teams sitting at their base farming medals(aka getting defense medals for standing still AFK). There is no question this is the particular game that has been ruined with the patch. If your team is down, FUDGE IT, if we let the other team win and farm our medals(AKA sit at the one base we own), we'll get 100 commendations!!(instead of the 120... So my last couple posts were me SITTING in CIVIL WAR pissed as F@!#! because I was the only one assaulting bases.. Everyone else wanted to farm their defense medals... I can go on forever baby. If EA wants to turn their stock around (from their worst since 1998). Hire me, because right now you guys are clueless. I can teach you guys about a million things..

Correct statement. So this is what my team does. And we do not try for a win. In fact I am currently in a game. And in this game the other team is all sitting on their base. all 5-6 of them They are not even attacking us. This is stupid. If I was on the other team I would be furious.

You don't get medals for playing the game right, but you do if you stand there and afk by the one turret that we have, which does no good since you need two... An occurance in most games.. Oh crap I have to farm my medals. While my team is full of them since they played team deathmatch and didn't help at all..

Taking the time to write this because the other team has decided to sit in the middle and my whole team has decided to camp their medals. So they accept defeat in mid, however only battle the one sucker(me) who goes in. and I have to suffer through this. The queue times are already crappy. Well-- still 80 points left in this game. Might as well go grab a smoke like the rest of them.. every game.. -- me in civil war

SWTOR needs to release this patch ASAP for 1.2.. Maybe they focused too much of the resources on the story and not enough on the actual game...

I know it is old, but this fight is very simple... Does not require much skill. Keep using double strike and have your companion tank. This was done at level 7 with missing skills. Bring a health potion and a stim potion if needed..

Was a joke at level 7.. Using a Stim Pot can be extremely useful. Always carry a health pot as well.

Did not like Huttball originally. Seems like your problems come from not playing it correctly. This tends to be most people's problems. I've been pulled into all types of things, but a simple trinket and my life is saved.. CC the guy and ride out. Love it now. Except most people have no idea how to play it. If you are getting taken into the pit repeatedly, sounds to me like the game working... This game does however expose weaknesses sure. There are several things that will need to be fixed, but all in all.. Not bad.

Your logic is flawed, not to mention has nothing to do with what I am talking about. I did exactly what I was supposed to do. Win. and most of the time if you focus objectives and CC it is hard to get medals. The noobs on my team basically played team deathmatch and NOT huttball. Did 200k damage to useless opponents then bragged how good they were and how their damage means they should get MVP. First of all what planet are you on.. In the PvP world I live in, there are objectives in this game and there are medals, objectives win you the game. Medals and MVP take away from the team aspect if you ask me. I go for the objectives and I am forced to farm medals if I have time. People go out in the middle and fight each other, don't even know or care where the ball is. these people get rewarded medals and think they are good. In some games I literally play by myself and have 1-2 guys after me while every other guys goes and plays TDM. I once again get no medals, while I put my butt on the line getting killed several times stopping the ball carrier, mainly by myself. Why am I stopping mid game to farm medals? That is not HUTTBALL. I have a serious problem with that. I play hundreds and hundreds of WZs every single one is different and the skill level is different for each game. There is no way I can come close to agreeing with you, especially since your situation rarely happens. You are talking about one "perfect" situation. I don't care about if I score or not, I don't care if it gives me credit. What I care about is I have to deal with noobs who think that medals are how you win the game. All it does is get people to want to do max damage. I'm just pissed because of all the medals I have missed out on, and the noobs get geared just for showing up. --- I want to add, I do NOT run into this problem with just Huttball. All 3 WZ gave me this issue. A good player knows when to leave a spot and when to stay. In both games I have to end up moving constantly because my team mates a lot of times like to go to a side that is easier(leaving the other side exposed). So I could spend a while game by myself stopping 2-3 people (with minimal) help trying to plant or destroy the objectives, or end up having to do a lot of running right to left, just to suicide to keep the turret alive.. Upon using all my CCs and defensive moves. And my lack of damage, I am better served being a pain in the Arse for them to kill and keeping the turrets up rather then doing the 2k damage they have coming, which ultimately will mean nothing. I can play any class and score with it. I just dinged level 50 on tuesday. So to say I have had gear is an understatement. Waiting for my first piece of battlemaster gear. Also let me include that I leveled all the way from 10-50 PVPing. Which I was never really geared up until 40. Unless you really understand the game, it probably isn't clear many people do not understand how many people have no idea what they are doing in WZs. Which once again has little do with the subject at hand. I know plenty of people who play the game along with me that ARE NOT guardians and don't get their medals. So to say it is isolated to just me in my situation that is BS. This happens on nearly any character I play, so don't get it twisted. The guardian and scoring TDs, is one of the many problems with this.

I, for one, am wondering how I can be the focal point of the team and win it for us 100%, by single handedly getting 5-6 touchdowns in huttball, CCing, pushing guys off ledges, distracting 3-4 guys. Only to get jipped of my rewards for not having the proper medals, which by no means reflect how a person contributed.
