  1. Are you a tank or an alpha-strike DPS? Then endurance. Otherwise, power.
  2. That about sums it up. It's actually amazing how the best class and the worst class are not really that far apart.
  3. Really, it only matters for your relics. Outside of that, play as you choose to play. It's not like KOTOR where you get much better gear if you go all one way or the other - SWTOR really has very little in the way of gear that actually takes your side into account. It's almost all story-based. By the way - The Lightside Sith Warrior story is ten times better than the darkside version.
  4. One thing I think we need to remember is that having a light-sided Sith character is perfectly acceptable. Remember, The Sith aren't all about being evil - They're all about being free to be evil or good, with the only limits being your own power. If you want to be light side, then no one is going to care. The problem I have is as a dark side Jedi - I've been leaving a trail of bodies throughout the galaxy and no one on The Council seems to care. It's ridiculous. "Master Mentel, you really shouldn't have slaughtered those orphans and puppies... Anyway, on to your next assignment..."
  5. It is true that this is consistent with The Consular's story. Basically; Sith = Idiots Republic = corrupt idiots And The Masters keep telling me that everything is going to doom The Republic - These are the most fatalistic idiots I've ever seen. "I can't find my keys... This could doom The Republic." It's really sad that the only reason my consular character is compelling at all is because I gave her a great backstory and personality.
  6. The Sith Warrior is excellent if you're going light side. I haven't done it dark side yet, but I'm told it's not nearly as strong that way.
  7. Spoilers ahead for The Jedi Consular storyline... Not that it actually spoils anything good. So my mission is to board The Javelin and steal it from The Empire. My character makes it very clear that we should just blow the thing up rather than trying to take it, since it's the most powerful Imperial ship in the area and destroying it would be a huge blow to The Empire. The mission to take it over is just senseless risk taking... But for some reason, The Republic wants to capture it instead. Alright, fine. So I get on the ship (they just let me walk right in... No sentry ships, no fleet to guard it, no shields, no legions of troops to stop me...) And then I get to the bridge where the droid happily informs me that I've walked into a trap, and the ship is about to explode with me on it. So I leave. So let's just review here... The cunning Imperial admiral has decided to destroy his most powerful ship - Which is what I wanted to do anyway - Just to lay an easily escapable trap that doesn't even come close to killing me anyway? Even if he killed me; What's the life of one jedi compared to A GIANT gosh darnED DREADNOUGHT?!? This is the worst trap I've ever seen. This is even worse than the bugs in Starship Troopers laying a "trap" by "trapping" the soldiers in an almost impenetrable fortress instead of just killing them in the canyon they just marched through! Who wrote this part?
  8. And they just announced no new story content in the next year... So if they do come, they'll be here long after we have already leveled eight characters up to the point that we're locked out of further romances. Frankly, I have my doubts they'll actually do it. It seems like they've taken the approach of promising it and then delaying until we don't notice anymore.
  9. I've learned so far that the most fun Imperial characters are light side, and the most fun Republic characters are dark side.
  10. They promised them within the year, then quickly shut up about them, refused to take questions on the topic and announced no new story content for over a year. It's not coming. I think that's the real problem here - The JC's companions just don't fit well romantically. She has more chemistry with Qyzen than the others and he actually makes sense for her.
  11. The Republic side is hit or miss, whereas The Empire is more consistently good.
  12. *Sigh* First, what part of "they don't have the same abilities" are we missing here? But most important, those 'slightly' different types of weapons? You're talking about an assault cannon versus a pistol.
  13. Eh, it's not a bad story, I guess. Second worst of the seven I've tried, but even that is pretty good in this game.
  14. I need to ask if you've actually played both classes, because you seem rather mis-informed. A commando is not identical to a BH - He is a combination of a BH and an IA, with the smuggler getting the other halves. The Commando has many abilities the BH could never hope for, and don't underestimate the added power of assault cannon as opposed to a crappy little blaster. I love my BH - He's my main and my favorite, but he doesn't hold a candle to my commando.
  15. "Give me what I want or I shoot the kid."
  16. I suppose that's true, but they're still the two characters you would expect the BH to be most interested in. Not so for other characters. Which is ridiculous. Would have liked to have seen my female IA romance colecovision, or whatever the hell her name was.
  17. Not a bad idea, should be easy to do. At least something to differentiate us from our dark side counterparts.
  18. That it's taking a ridiculous amount of time to come back up lends some support for your theory.
  19. I agree. It's actually perfectly in character for her to do so! I think the BH was the only character that actually romances the partner you would expect him/her to romance. The rest of them seem to be rather arbitrary picks, as if the devs just decided 'hey, he's a guy and she's a girl, so they'll make a great romance,' completely forgetting about any other type of compatibility.
  20. I'd romance him in a heartbeat. He actually makes a bit more sense for my inq. I REALLY feel that way about my councilor, who seems a perfect match for her lizard buddy.
  21. I think that's where the split comes in - If you're light side, she's a fine compliment to your character. If you're dark... Why haven't you just chopped her head off already? She makes no sense at all! As a light inq, I liked her, but if I were dark I'd have to resist the urge to kill her.
  22. Both are very useful in different situations. Keep both of them ready for actions. In fact, other than Broonmark (and of course the stupid droid), all of them have their roles to fill. Both the Inq and Warrior have a very diverse group of companions you can mix and match for the situation.
